Again. Only if the phenomenon occurred again before her would Vettey acknowledge defeat fair and square, and go along with what Errand wanted of her. The girl made the promise to herself, still headstrong and adamant about doing things her own way only to gape much later at the sight of a single grey fragment drifting slowly in the air until it eventually landed on her motionless outstretched hand.
"none... accept... me"
She took a deep breath and sighed, the look in her eyes softening as she got up from the ground to address Errand proper. "I guess I have to admit that you were right and you got what you hoped for." Smiling wryly, she held out her fragments for him to see what she meant before closing her hands over them once more. "Let's not keep the goddess waiting any longer now, shall we?"

Atictel's footsteps brought her to this place. There was still a bit for her to take in it seemed. Her head tilted this way and that as she tried to take everything in as if afraid the very ability to see would suddenly drain from her all of the sudden.
She didn't understand why she felt this way. She just did.
This distraction with sight rewarded her with a fragment that came into view and right away she claimed it.
Soft singing in a language she didn't understand filled her mind. Why did this feel important? Was it important?

He found more warmth a few feet away and moved instinctively towards it, as though somehow drawing nearer would make him feel more comfortable, more at ease with himself.

This place felt foreign to him, but more then that, this place was frightening. Sonja shivered to himself, able to take in the full horrifying scene that was around him. Deep below the earth was tattered red, and he nearly jumped out of his skin when he could see faces and other things as well.
He quickly moved into the spire, feeling unnerved by the amount of spikes everywhere. He didn't want to p***k himself by accident...
There were also floating lights everywhere, though when he reached out, they floated away from him.

More warmth was what drew him forward now, a hand fluttering against his chest where the bright red emanated from his otherwise grey body, pulsing softly. He reached towards the nearest fragment, fingers searching for it...

Atictel hunted more fragments as best as she could but she often wound up lost or confused. It was as if everything she saw or felt distracted her. Some new feeling would well up inside her - anxiousness that this task will never be done.
Need to get this done.
Her fingertips reached for a fragment and it seemed to disappear as soon as she saw it.

Wandering feet soon brought her toward another fragment she moved to collect it as any other. As her fingertips touched the surface of the fragment an overwhelming scream filled her mind.
'NO. NO. I'LL BE GOOD. I SWEAR. I WON'T DISOBEY AGAIN...'
She overcame the phantom pain racing through her as she clutched to the fragment. This meant nothing...
