Hearing Lurtz describe how great the mudpie was, Dragon couldn't help but feel proud once again. He must've made the best mudpies ever for Lurtz to like them that much! When the mudpie was taken and set on the windowsill, Dragon got up and followed after him, staring down at the leaf design when he reached it. "Oh wow." he breathed and leaned over to get a better look at it with his flaming red eyes. "It's really pretty!" he said while admiring the simpleness of nature. Nature really was a beautiful thing if taken the time to admire it. Especially now, how all the colorful leaves flew around with the wind. Dragon turned his head to smile brightly at Lurtz, but stopped when he saw the sadness in his eyes. He listened to Lurtz's next comment and nodded at his question, but his mind lingered on that sadness that seemed to stay itself. "What's wrong? Why're you sad?" he asked.

I was just thinking about how animals and people alike tend to sense something dark in me and flee as quickly as possible. It isn't like I intentionally scare people away much less animals, but most tend to fear me. And I know what it is that they sense. It's the very thing my own father feared of me; the way my mind works when I'm not being the perfect soldier who never questions orders. When I am not obedient, I become less than human and that is what terrifies most," Lurtz responded in what started out as a questioning tone, his fingers brushing briefly over his face as if looking for a frown or something that showed sadness on it. Having not found himself frowning, he just seemed to shrug it off and set an elbow against the windowsill. It was then that he flashed the boy a light half-smile and glancing out the window momentarily. "I'm really glad you like what I've shown you. I've never had the opportunity to show anyone anything besides being a soldier before. It makes me feel at least a little normal."

Hearing Lurtz talk about how things ran away from him in fear, Dragon couldn't help but feel sympathetic. He knew what it was like to be feared and thought of as a monster, but animals didn't usually run away from him. Maybe they saw the loneliness in him. But Lurtz, he had no one. No animals to talk to, no family, no friends. Dragon pursed his lips. Not this time, he wouldn't let his only friend be alone and sad anymore. Stepping forward, the brunette wrapped his arms around him and hugged him tightly. "I don't think you're terrifying." he mumbled, eyes turning purple. "I think you're the nicest, sweetest, and smartest person I've ever met. No matter what you do or say, you'll always be my friend."

When he found it was just a gentle yet firm hug from the boy, confusion set in. Hugs were so foreign to him, his arms didn't exactly move until after the darker haired boy's words had ended. "I'm sorry for scaring you at the wedding... With those gentlemen who were speaking ill of you that is. I honestly could care less of the things they said of me, but I wasn't going to let them speak the way they did about you. You don't deserve it after all," Lurtz finally responded softly as he gently returned the hug. The space where his heart once existed could feel a ping of joy at knowing Dragon meant those words to the very depth, but part of him felt he had put some kind of guilt on the boy for such words to be said.
xxxxx"Thank you, Dragon. I will be here for you no matter what just as you have been here for me," he added after a moment or two only to press a light kiss atop the boy's head. Sure it might've looked a little weird due to their appearance, but it made no difference to Lurtz. He already knew the boy was still that of a child and therefore he needed to be able to experience that which was a childhood still. He wouldn't let Dragon become like him.

"It's okay." Dragon assured and smiled up at Lurtz when he kissed his forehead, blushing a little at the affection. He remembered what some of the men had said, and some of it were things he wasn't sure meant, but there were also something things he understood. "To, umm... T-To tell you the truth, they weren't completely lying." Dragon mumbled and shyly looked down, remembering the advice his 'dad' had given him. He wasn't quite sure how to say this. He had talked like this to a girl before, but never another man! Would it be the same or would it be different? That's why those men were making fun of them, though, because they were two guys. Lurtz might not even take it well, but Dragon had to get this off his chest, or else he'd never be able to tell him. "I-I, umm, I-I really l-like you." he stuttered, growing redder with each word, even his eyes turned fire red. "I-I-I don't care wh-what anyone thinks or says, u-unless it's you. I've, umm, I-I've felt th-this way ever since your family came a-and I saw that drawing." He closed his eyes, too scared to see Lurtz's reaction. "I-I'm really sorry i-if this makes you feel w-weird. W-We can just stay friends, if you'd like."

At being told those boy's weren't completely wrong, however, confusion hit him like a rock again. "You like me in the fashion they spoke of, Dragon? The more than friends kind of like or what my sisters would call the like-like?" he asked so as to be sure he had Dragon's confession correct. He hadn't expected such a thing from him so early on in their relationship. I mean, they'd only met a couple days ago so such a confession was supposed to be some time later in the future if at all. "And you're certain of these feelings?"
xxxxxHe wasn't going to deny these feelings of the Wendigo's, but he wasn't sure about his own feelings. It'd been so long, he wasn't sure what most of the things he felt were anymore. "I... Haven't felt anything in a long time, but... But you've made me feel again like my ex-fiancée was capable of doing in such a short amount of time. My smiles have returned albeit only partially due to my lack of smiling for years, but they only returned for you. I'd say that is considered something one would only do for someone they like even if it's only me that does it," the icy blue eyed vampire finally admitted while still maintaining his composure about being confessed to. Was that a little too complex of a confession? It sounded simple in his head, but he couldn't be sure how mechanical he sounded when stating it. God, he might as well just be a robot with how he spoke and behaved.

Hearing Lurtz's... confession(?), Dragon looked up, albeit hesitantly. "A-Are you saying you... l-like me, too?" he asked, trying to hold back his excitement but couldn't help but smile. His heart was racing, faster then whenever he soared the skies on his dragon's back. He couldn't even remember being this nervous, not even when that one girl offered to go to a dance with him! ...Then again, Lurtz might be saying that just to make him feel better. He usually did things to cheer him up, so who's to say he wasn't just saying this, too? Like that girl he (almost) went to a dance with.

I apologize for it sounding so complex, but that is basically what I've said," he rumbled smoothly while gently brushing a dark auburn hair out of Dragon's face. The boy just seemed so cheerful that he couldn't help but to give the younger male a cheery smile in return.

At Lurtz's confirmation, Dragon's smile brightened considerably. Even if the blue-haired man said it to comfort him, he didn't care, he'd naively believe in his words. He wanted to say something, but what exactly could he say? Thanks for returning the feelings? Even if he did know what to say, Dragon's excitement possessed his body and threw him forward to hug Lurtz again. A happy giggle escaped him when he closed his eyes. There was a feeling in his stomach, too. Not butterflies, but like how a bottled soda would be when shaken up, where the carbonation would rise all the way to the covered top.

Dragon had been hurt enough in the short length of time he had existed after all. At hearing the other giggle, he just inwardly shook his head at his reaction to his response. "Just keep smiling for me, Dragon, 'cause I don't like seeing you hurt," he murmured softly to himself, a full gentle smile actually passing over his face. For once he was allowed to make his own decision and actually make someone happy with it. That didn't mean he was just going to up and drop everything he had been raised to do, but it did make him feel less monstrous as he'd been made to believe he was. "We still need to finish that wall, y'know."

I'll smile as much as you want! That's what Dragon wanted to respond with, but something in his mind kept his mouth shut. It'd be best not to scare Lurtz off with all this clingy affection already. Hearing the other's comment about the wall, Dragon opened his frost blue eyes and gave a light frown. "Oh, I forgot all about that." he blushed and (reluctantly) let go of Lurtz. "D-Do we have to put more mud on it?" he asked and looked back said wall.

Once we get done with the mud, we'll have to wait until the mud dries before we can do much else though. Would you like to do something when that happens?" Lurtz responded gently while lightly smiling at how easily he showed his every emotion. What had caught him by surprise was how his eyes had shifted to the very same color as his own eyes... Or at least the color anyone who'd painted his family's portraits made his eyes appear. Perhaps he'd reminded him of the wall too soon? And did this mean they were now an item? Now dating? Didn't dating change from back then? He did believe people stopped asking for girl's father's blessings before dating her much less marrying her... And how did two guys date? This would be a lot of late night studies to understanding the nature of present day dating rituals.

"Let's make milkshakes!" Dragon almost immediately responded. He clapped his hands together and smiled pleadingly at Lurtz to let him make one, clearly very proud that he could actually do something (he'd consider) useful. His eyes began changing leaf green as he waited for an answer. If Lurtz wasn't in the mood for a milkshake, Dragon wouldn't mind playing with the mud some more. He could make more pies and learn about the beauty of nature! Maybe he could look at more of Lurtz's drawings? If he was willing to show them to him, that is. If none of that worked out, he vaguely remembered Dora the Explorer being on now- N-Not like he watched that, or anything.

Is there anything else you'd like to do other than making milkshakes?" Lurtz responded as he gently ruffled the boy's dark hair. Dragon was so adorable in how he went about things. This vampiric soldier couldn't deny how adorable this dark haired youth was overall. What was weird was how he was actually still a kid and yet didn't think Lurtz was a bully. Lurtz was usually considered mean to children.

Smiling as his hair was ruffled, Dragon took into consideration all the things the could do. "Well, usually I would play with my pet dragon since nobody would play with me, but now... Umm, what do couples even do?" he asked. All he really knew about couples were that they went to dances together, but that was with a boy and a girl. He wasn't sure how to dance with Lurtz, or if he even wanted to.
