Aymet gave Merope some kind of a look, but fortunately or unfortunately for the Hermit, he had enough distractions of his own right then.
"Kneel," he repeated again to the other silver refugee. The same motions, removing a blank silvery card from her empty shadow and letting it swarm and engulf her in darkness. "You are now a soldier of the Black King of Revenge, of the Kingdom of Shadows. I Name you anew... The Moon."
He left her there, and marched into the heart of the remaining Shadows.
"SOLDIERS! ATTENTION!" he roared over the wail.
"We have lost our home today, but our lives remain You will not give in to weakness and despair, or I will strike you down myself. It is when we are laid low that we are strongest, as we can see our path most clearly. We. Will. Win."
The Shadowlord seemed to grow with each word, until he was easily ten feet tall, crowned with sharp black spikes and burning blue eyes. His voice was like icy flames, pure hatred. "The Voice gives us the chance to prove our worth as the soldiers we were created to be. We fight today, because we will always persevere. We will see our enemies fall and our kingdom built anew upon their bones. We are vengeance, and vengeance is eternal!"
Aymet turned toward the battlefield portal that the Voice had left for them at the edge of the abyss.
"FOLLOW ME TO OUR ULTIMATE VICTORY!"

Jericho was more than ready for this. They would claim all the lands for their own. They would get revenge for what was destroyed. There would be nothing left of them. Only the Moon would remain, standing tall above the carnage.
He would be one to help this come to realization.
He swore by it.
Hearing their King speak only caused his blood to pump with anticipation. Tonight. They dine in hell.
The Dark Herald's form swirled before taking on a more draconic appearance. Spreading his wings, he let out a roar, then flew off towards the battle.

Merope didn't resist and she dragged him off.
"What are you doing?" Amrita demanded quietly, under her breath and away from prying eyes. "You're ruining our chances of saving him! Saving all of them!" She didn't understand it, no matter how she tried to spin it, it just didn't make sense. "I thought you were his fri--"
Aymet's boasting roar broke through the air, startling her enough to grab Merope's arm just a little tighter. s**t. s**t s**t s**t! She looked panicked, upset, confused...very similar to that lost little ghoul who took her first backward steps onto Amityville's grounds. Her gaze eventually found Merope again, still pleading.
"Merope, I really need your help. Please...we can't leave him like this. Please, please help me!"

Reluctantly Rex did as he was asked, kneeling before the shadow king. There was a moment of confusion, of fear and reluctance. He started to take a step back, what was happening to his shadow--was his shadow trying to eat him?!
Before he could move further, the shadow engulfed him, changing him. It must have been only a moment, but it may have seemed much longer, or maybe it had passed for him in the blink of an eye. Whatever the case, where there had once been a wild card of the kingdom of silver, now stood a shadow creature of the kingdom of black.
The shadow raptor roared as he never had before, his tail lashing behind him, a snap of powerful jaws and vicious teeth. He was ready to fight, to destroy, to devour.

Maple tilted her head as The Moon dragged the Hermit off, odd, she thought to herself. But, perhaps Amrita was discussing battle strategy, they were at war now. It was also a relief to see the other Shadow looking much better, not thanks to her failed attempts at healing.
The Tower held out her hand, allowing the soft whips of black shadows to fall from her finger tips and form into probably some of the last few Shades left of the fallen Kingdom of Black. They were Elk like in appearance and would serve her well - hopefully - to seek vengeance for the fall.
Maple followed after her King with a stern look in her eye, hoping to do well.

If he had his fins, they would be clamped against his sides. He would have tried to make himself smaller, to hide from the anger she had. And yet... Merope grasped his Hermit's staff, placing it against the ground and taking a slow deep breath. "You... You don't know what it's like," he began. "I've got... I've got nothing in Amityville. Do you know what it's like to be ignored? To be treated as if you're invisible? Here," he shook her off of his arm, using it to gesture towards the kingdom around them. "Here, I have a chance to be someone. To finally belong. I... I know I didn't do a very good job. Jack, I'm called the Hermit and I'm still alone. And even though the kingdom's in ruins..." He couldn't help but to glance at the abyss, the section of the kingdom even darker than the shadows.
"E-even though it's in ruins, this is the first time I've actually... belonged somewhere." He finished, looking back at her. "It's different for you. You have friends waiting for you. You have things to do. It's different for me. Here... I don't. I don't want to wake up. I want to stay here, where at least I..." He faltered, frowning. "At least I can try to be useful. I just... I just want to be wanted. Aymet can use me here. He's different now, but at least... But at least I have a reason for being here. A reason to exist."

Name: Merope Major Arcana: The Hermit Rank: Dark Herald (Pawn) Current Location: Black Tower - botherin' Aymet HP: 40/40
Physical Description: A Shadow with defining, illuminated teal-blue lines. Much of him is hidden beneath a simple hooded robe. His beastial form is much like his true undead sea serpent form. While as a humanoid Shadow, Merope wields a staff with his draconic form's characteristics complete with a lantern hanging from its mouth.
Following after the other members of the Black Kingdom who were making their way to the battlefield, Uluiru exhaled slowly, forcing himself to relax....the better to conserve his energy. He wasn't much for endurance to begin with--if he started out tense and agitated, he'd be half done before he even engaged anyone in battle.
Making his way towards the portal to the battlefield, he wondered, briefly, things would have been had the Silver Kingdom not been the first to fall.

Justice nodded grimly as she spoke - and when the King finally announced their marching orders he slowly let go of Judgement's hand and slammed his fist to his chest. "BY YOUR COMMAND!" His bellow was loud and forceful. Now was not the time to go quietly into the night, they would not vanish without a fight - they were going to live on.
Turning to Judgement he grinned wickedly and motioned to the portal. "Well then..." He took her hand once more and with a deep laugh, started to tug her toward the portal. "Let us fight! Let us show those who would dare try to push us into the abyss what it means to provoke our wrath."
His eyes peered out into the emptiness that had once been their home. "Our Kingdom will be avenged, and our King made greatest - and they will beg for mercy - but they shall have none."
His gaze returned to Judgement as he removed his hand from her's, limbering his chain from his wrist and setting it spinning so he would be ready for anything when he stepped out onto the field of battle.
"For none can stand against the might of Team Retribution!" Turning toward the portal, he looked behind him once more at Judgement.
"See you on the other side - partner," and with that said, he stepped through the portal...
THIS was what he wanted to hear. They would get revenge against the other kingdoms. They would avenge their own.
Licking his lips, the Chariot summoned his shade , and he headed towards the battlefield.

Her King certainly didn't need to tell her twice that his people would not fall to grieving uselessly: Amarus would never collapse under the weight of her own grief, but rather fight because of her pain. Take the anger, the disappointment, the fear: whatever emotions fueled her, and channel it into revenge. The sweet and swift revenge that they would enact together.
Amarus, for her part, bowed to the King in acknowledgement and fealty. "Understood, my Liege," was all she said. No grand display; she had already used her one display at the meeting, and that hadn't exactly gone well.
She uncoiled her Meteor Hammer from around her shoulder, wielding the ends in turn. Preparing. Defense with one, attack with the other: she traced her blue runic symbol into the heavy lantern, igniting that Shadow flame. A ghost's soul, that's what it looked like. It would light the way in their abyss, and draw her enemies to their own graves. "On the other side," she agreed, the corner of her mouth quirking up into a smile.
It was showtime. It was the end.

Nevena's eyes looked as though they were about to pop out of her head when Merope dared to say as much to the King, and as Amrita gave her orders, well... She sniffed a little haughtily, but she'd obey. Wordlessly, she glided closer to the King, and the power that radiated from him was enough to make her shiver. She hoped it could be mistaken for one of admiration and awe.
"As you command, my King." She murmured, sweeping into a curtsy even as she kept a careful eye on the pair who were supposed to not be acting as though their brains had turned into boogers.
Should she follow? Well, naturally, but she'd need to linger to see what Amrita had planned.

Sun clapped Arynek - the Moon on the back, and helped her back to her feet.
"Welcome, comrade!" she said, heartfelt. Even in the midst of what had to be the Kingdoms' darkest (heh) hour, it was encouraging to see new Shadows join the ranks. As her King rose up, and declared the war commenced, Sun forgot all about the strange expressions she'd seen.
She wanted no more than to do as he King commanded. With a wild whoop, she ran for the battlefield.
Mari was still not satisfied. She hadn't calmed down from Her rage and fury. With Their King's orders, neither halves saw reason to try and be calm. Delight and honor swelled in both Mari and Tess' chests at Aymet's words.
"Yes," the winged of the pair stated.
Tess turned to Whisper, and gave Her fellow Shadow's hand a gentle squeeze. The smile was still there, though the outline of Her form seemed to waver in excitement at the looming battle. "Yes," she agreed, lightly giving Strength's hand a tug before surging forward into the fray.
If They die, They die with honor and blood on Their hands. "TO VICTORY FOR THE ONE TRUE KING!!!!"

The Black Kingdom is now devoid of sounds. There was no cries or lamentations. What is there, is total silence.
They has left, eh?
Rei stood still in the midst of what remains from the Kingdom of Shadows. All combatants has long left the kingdom, while non-combatants are now still wandering around without any destination. Some remained still like a pillar, some stared into the darkness holes that is now looked like it's going to 'dry'.
"This is my time to move." He has one promise to fulfill. That is, protecting the girl. "I'm sorry to make you experienced this in your first journey..." muttered him, cursing his own idea of traveling together. If he went to the Red Kingdom as planned, and didn't make that proposition, would she become free from the mortal danger right now?
Taking up the Obsidian-made Sword he took from the remains of a weapon shop, he walked toward the West gate. Soon, he will join the chaotic battle for The True King...without even wanting to be that chosen one.
"My goal...is to protect. That girl's wishes and dreams."

Amrita's yellow eyes narrowed as he spoke; not out of anger, but out of concern and lingering confusion.
"...So you're...doing this because you're lonely?" She said slowly, trying to figure out the reasoning. She had been lonely before, very lonely; but that stopped after her first trip to Christmastown, when she made actually lasting friends. Before that happened? It was painful, really. To feel left out and desperate...but to do this in order to fix it...
"I do know what it's like...and I'm really, really sorry you feel that way...it's not fun, but what you're trying to do? To let him stay sick and let that imposter run around in his skin...because you want to feel included? That isn't right! It's selfish." She let him go because she had to, but she didn't want to. Her arms folded across her chest for a moment, only to loosen them to gesture around them, almost uselessly.
"What happened to you, Merope?" She asked, her voice and expression drawn with sadness. "What happened to the Merope who helped Aymet build a barricade to protect us from that campfire in Malcolm's class? Or the Merope who helped me get more fish tanks before my fish died? Or the Merope who tried bringing together every single Undead for an underwater party? You were the first person to try and show that factions other than Demons can have exclusive parties! I really admired that, you did what I was too scared to! I don't see you anywhere anymore Merope...but I do miss the you I used to know." Her hand moved, resting on Merope's lower arm again; this time it wasn't a demanding gesture, it didn't mean anything too serious. It was contact for the sake of contact, because she could.
"But this isn't about me, or you, what we have or don't have. This is about Aymet, and the others who are sick. Please...please help me save him."
