Landing safely on his feet, Atticus would arrive just in time, to hear the others conversation, "Me? I thought it was obvious?" Atticus asked as he looked around at all the chaos that was happening, "I am going to slaughter every single being on this ship and then I will tear the ship in half." he told her as he smiled, "I can't have my partner showing me up." Atticus said, referring to Shira flying around on the shark.

As he was about to head off towards the direction of the crew members, Atticus seemed to instinctively look at the current location of where Shira was and saw that she had been coughing up blood. Seeing this, Atticus would seem to snap back to his senses and become the protector he was meant to be. "Sorry, Cathy, guys. I have something else that needs my attention." Atticus said as he watched and waited for the shark to get close enough, "Take care of things here." he told them as he then jumped off of the ship and began plummeting towards the the bottom. Looking around to find Shira, Atticus held out his hand, almost as if he had expected her to come and take it.

Atticus had expected Shira to take his hand drag him to her. Landing on the shark, Atticus wrapped his arms around her waist, and began resonating his soul with hers, effectively increasing her energy and hopeful healing her from her fatigue or injuries. "I knew that you would come for me." he said as he stared forward at all of the ships, "Let us do this together. The demon and shinigami, we are the most formidable team there is."

While the their two souls were resonating, Shira would begin to sense, the presence of Sanctum, which had shown itself countless times through out this mission. "Shinigami girl, do you love me that much?" Atticus would ask, but in Sanctum's voice. "I didn't think that you were that kind of girl. Atticus would be very sad to find out, so lets keep this a secret." he would say, as he laughed a bit, "Thanks to you, Atticus has been weakened to such an extent, that I am able to slip through at any time now. That reckless little fool, risked everything, just to protect you and these people. He has grown weak and it is all your doing, Shinigami girl."

"Oh my, such a brash and rude little girl." Sanctum would say as he removed his arms away from her waist, "And here I thought that we could come to an understanding here and speak as honorable people, but a shinigami has no honor." Sanctum said as he stood up on the shark and started messing with the protective barrier that Shira had put around them, "Do you not care what happens to this body or should I say, Atticus?" he asked as he seemed to be testing the durability of the barrier.

As the bullets ricocheted off Shira's shield and came back at the fighters, they tried to back up and pull left or right. Mostly they were successful but a few of them were peppered with their own bullets. Smoke and fire began to pour from their engines as they hovered unsteadily around Shira. The ones that were hit ignited their engines and broke off, retreating from the fight and returning to their home ships for repairs. The others continued to dance around Shira like angry gnats, though they pulled back slightly to give themselves more room to maneuver.

As Shira made the shark turn, the fighters coming in on that side pulled up and zoomed over her. Two of them weren't fast enough and slammed straight into the side of the shark, sending flame and twisted bits of metal in every direction.

The extension of shadow matter Shira fired at one of the fighters wrapped tightly around its wing. The fighter increased its output as it tried to pull free but couldn't control itself as Shira tossed it towards another fighter. The two craft collided, spiraling towards the ocean in a twist of smoke and screeching metal.

When Shira formed the barrier around her and Atticus, the hovering fighters pulled back even more, surrounding the two. They waited several moments to sync up before firing a barrage of rockets as one. Rocket after rocket sped towards the barrier in waves. The detonations rocked and shook the barrier as they continued pounding away.

"I figured you would say as much, but would you really be okay with allowing him to continue being so reckless and arrogant?" Sanctum asked, "You had to have noticed by now, haven't you? That ever since you two have been together he has become more reckless when it deal with you. He is willing to kill himself just to protect you, not caring for his life at all. Can you honestly say that you are okay with that?" Sanctum watched as more and more rockets hit the barrier. "Lets take a few hours ago for example. Had the ship not taken him in and healed him, Atticus would have died. No matter how much you managed to heal him, he was still going to die and he knew that. Why else do you think he pushed you away?" Sanctum asked. "One day, his luck will wear off and he won't be coming back and then you will lose him forever. Can you live with that, shinigami?" Having grown tired of the rockets, Sanctum would raise his right hand and suddenly white tentacle like formations would come out of the barrier and attempt to catch the rockets and send them crashing into one another.
