Acerium waited for... well he wasn't quite her king, emperor, whatever, but he was the closest thing to it... to get himself ready for battle.
She figured that while she waited she would put some food in her. Some water too. Had she really not eaten all day?

She munched on some food that she traded for, and drank some water, and even managed to find some tea. Not her tea, but it was something.

While eating what could very well be her last meal, she realized that she should probably check her combat abilities. She closed her eyes, letting her miasma rise into her conciousness.
She wasn't a fighter, she was a trader, a gardener, a grower of herbs. And often the optimist in a room full of pessimists.
But she could still feel her miasma, comfortably silver, bubbling up to her fingertips. She opened her eyes to see the cool, shimmering aura- not quite at home in this kingdom- writhe ominously around her hands.
She wasn't a fighter, but soon it would be time to fight.
She put her aura away and continued eating her snack, waiting for the emperor.

She wasn't aware that things were heating up here in Gold already...

Acerium really respects and likes the gold king, so she is delaying exiting onto the battlefield until he goes too

The spear clattered out of his hand, and it looked like the 'Silver King' was about to erupt in a temper tantrum, the other fist clenched tightly until it was leaking a strange silver-black ooze, dripping onto the floor. The odd substance hissed as it hit the ground, sizzling and tearing away the fabric around it.

And then he straightened his features, ugly and distorted as they were, and straightened his crown and tidied up half his zipped up jacket. ""There once was a Great King, who ruled a Great Kingdom, and fought a Great War." He took a step closer towards the Gold King. "Like all legacies, he too perished, but left with behind items of unfathomable power."

Another step. "A weapon forged from purest light, the strongest symbol of protection."

A step, and then an abrupt half. "A throne made of purest power, the strongest symbol of pride." He eyed Menyao critically. "If you are not the Voice, then you are its pride and I will get what I want from yo- ah!"

He paused for a second as he finally noted the guest. "What do we have here? Little Silvers, come here. You serve me."

The hug had not come soon enough for Ligaya. The appearance of the Silver King had the ditch digger excusing herself from Mjoll's embrace. Her body moved of its own accord, the way it had during the collapse, and during the mad rush through the Valley.

"My... King?" she whispered, suddenly kneeling before the Silver King in awe and disbelief. And perhaps the tiniest bit of anger and betrayal. She wanted to know, to demand answers from him. How could he have let their Kingdom crumble like that? Instead, she held her tongue and simply remained on her knees.

Whatever he'd said, it was the wrong thing. Mengyao struggled to keep his composure, though the black ooze dissolving the fabric of his kingdom made it slip, just a little, a hiss escaping his through his clenched teeth.

He'd heard the story before. He knew what the Silver King was saying, and yet...

Mengyao lifted the sword, anger flaring through him, his heart beating so rapidly against his chest that he thought he might not be able to draw breath. This was his kingdom, his citizens. They did not belong to the Silver King and his defeated Kingdom.

This world was his and he was going to keep it.

The sword cut through the air with a whistle of metal.

The Silver King didn't budge as Mengyao tried his assault, clipping the attack with a parry of his own, showcasing a bit - just a tendril - of his power that pulsated off his spear-weapon and forcefully shoved away the Gold King.

He snorted a bit, twirling his spear weapon idly, before turning towards the only Silver in the room that had addressed him. "That's right. You are my subjects. And if I say you must sacrifice yourselves my entry into the battlefield, you will do that, right?" The tip of the weapon was raised, gleaming for less than a second before it plunged-

- Right into the ground. He rolled his eyes. "Boring. I think I'll pass. When I'm True King I'll get a bunch of new subjects, why am I even fighting with you fake copies anyway. Boring boring boring." He turned around, discarding his weapon as the others faded back into the tiles, giving the Gold King a lazy wave of his hand. "See you later, Not Voice. And for the record, I wished for a new table." He laughed, as if this had some other meaning before literally fading into the background, footsteps distant.

The attack from the Silver King (???) has left the Gold King weakened. He can no longer heal from his reserves period.

Acerium stopped mid bite of her... was it her third or her fourth...? fig or something of that sort.
Something... called her, and before she knew it she was walking into the inner chambers of the emperor.

At first she seemed to move of no accord of her own, but then her energetic curiousity took over and she carried herself over the threshold...

To a sight she hadn't expected.
There was the gold king, resplendent in armor...
...
and...

there was the silver king, looking like a wisp of memory and feeling like a song sung to her very core.

The half eaten fig was still in her hands.
"You... you are..."

MY KING?!
What?!

He had not come to reclaim his subjects? He had just... what had he come here to do? Something about a The Voice? It wasn't the Gold King but... wait where was the Silver King going?! He was just abandoning them? Just like that? Anger made itself very clear on Joy's face, her cheeks turning a furious scarlet and she rose swiftly, to yell out "I CHOOSE TO SIDE WITH A TRUE KING!!! I SIDE WITH THE GOLD!!!"

Aedan blinked at the Emperor's decision to join his subjects on the field, his courage filling Aedan with both concern--he had faith in the Emperor's skills, but what happened if the worst came about--and a sense of pride--everyone would fight to further their kingdom's glory, including the Emperor himself.

He was afraid, terrified, even--but not so much of death, as of failing to further the kingdom's advance through the ranks. But...if that was the case, he'd likely be dead, so it wasn't as though he'd have to suffer with that knowledge for very long...

Changing into a new outfit, as his other one had been...ruined beyond repair by his unfortunate escapade in the Valley, Aedan managed to completely miss the fight between the Emperor and the Silver King.

Squaring his shoulders, he nodded once (to himself), his expression determined. It was time to join the battle.

Mjoll was about to tell the silver king off, about how he shouldn't abandon his people if he wanted to keep them. However, as soon as he'd come he left. Poor Mengyao was hurt but for some reason, Mjoll just sat down on the bottom step and looked towards the battlefield.

She really didn't know what to do, she didn't want to run into Bastion, Lifen was no where to be seen, so she couldn't ask her any questions. Eventually she just buried her face into her arms. She'd follow the king when he left, it was about the only thing she could do. Though prolonging things didn't really seem right either.

If only she'd gotten to tell the Silver king off, maybe he would've attacked her instead of her king. Saved him the pain. There was a sigh as Mjoll sat there for the first time in her life completely unable to make a decision about what to do. She could feel the heat building up in her cheeks again. She should've just went home and stayed in shop and lost herself in her crafting. No one would've minded.... would they?

He staggered back again, wincing as the spear slammed into his side, Mengyao giving a small grunt of pain. He rubbed at his side, feeling the bruise beginning to form, feeling a slight dampness beneath his fingers.

But the Silver King was gone. Mengyao slowly stood straight, his face paler than usual, his hair falling about his shoulders in uneven dark waves. For several moments he merely stood there, uncertain of what exactly had just happened, but he could feel the magic inside of him shifting, twisting, sliding through him.

Something was wrong. Something was not quite right, but Mengyao pushed it aside, gritting his teeth. He straightened, pushing his hair aside, and stood tall.

He was the King of Gold.

He descended the steps rapidly, pausing only momentarily to glance at Ligaya, his expression unchanging, but there was something softer in his eyes.

"We welcome you to Edric," he said quietly, and waved his hand, a gold symbol appearing on Ligaya's clothing. "I am honored that you are willing to fight with us."

He turned to look at the others, at the last remaining Silver.

"Should you choose to join us, I would be most grateful," said Mengyao quietly. "However I cannot force you."

It was time to go. With one last look at Lifen, Mengyao disappeared towards the battlefield.

If Acerium chooses to align herself with gold, the SECOND 2d20 refer to her (it's for my own use, don't worry about what it is) and she also receives a mark like above on her clothing! If not, then she goes to the battlefield as a silver <:

After being healed a bit, Imryn had been content to just sit there and watch the goings on. Everyone else seemed to have more important things on their mind and took no notice of the young girl sitting there, which gave her plenty of time to just people watch as she pleased.

Then The Voice spoke again and the Emperor had declared that they all would go to war instead of choosing just a few to sacrifice. It was a bit of an unexpected move, but Imryn hadn't thought that he would willingly give up any one member of the kingdom. Hopefully they would come back with even a small amount of their forces and their King, not sure what would become of any of them if he didn't survive this. Some headed off to the battlefield and others to parts unknown in the palace though Imryn was waiting until the king left before heading out. Which may or may not have been a good thing once the Silver king had arrived. Most everyone still seemed to be standing though, so she figured it would be time to head off and attempt to do something, though she wasn't going to hold out any hopes for being good in battle.

"What... just... happened..."
Acerium blinked.
He was offering again. But now... she just felt confused.
So confused.

What had just happened? Her resolve was shaken.
She had been pulled two ways.
And for a moment she didn't know who she was between those paths.

But then her energy bubbled up again and she was as close to normal as she could be on a day like this.
Moreso because she had had her ******** tea.

She glared at the spot where the Silver king had faded.

"I think I will keep my color, just to show that we are not all rude. Everybody else here has made their choice but I just..."
She didn't know.
Or did she?

"I like you, your eminence. I like your kingdom. But it isn't me. I don't fit in a place like this. I don't want to force myself to fit. But I do like it here and I want it to survive because of the people."

She held herself, looking away for a moment.
What the hell had just happened? with the Silver king?
Why was he even alive?
When her kingdom was dead?
Why didn't he care?

He was silver. He WAS silver. There was no doubt in her mind that it was him. He had called to her core.
Why did she want to stay silver when THAT was in charge.
Simple.

"... I think I would like to kick his a**." she muttered, still glaring at where the silver king had disappeared.
Yeah. That was it.

He let out a sigh of relief, followed by the reminder that they weren't clear yet. Now they had a battle to win. And Kashi was bound and determined to protect Molan. Even if he himself wasn't battle smart. He gave a bow of acknowledgement. He'd be ready, whether he wanted to go or not.

Kashi felt the light tug from Molan, once the emperor had given his 'onward to battle' speech, and followed Molan outside. He waited and watched Molan silently. He felt a 'stern talking to' was about to happen, but he couldn't stop himself from smiling.

"You look lovely in the light of a sunset." His only response.

He stopped after he felt they were far enough away, about to speak with the comment halted him briefly a bit of a flush crossing his face. Honestly, it really wasn't a time for that. Or maybe it was. Afterall, as much as he'd try, some part of him felt there was little chance of walking away from this all alive.

A sad smile was given as a reply bbefore he lightly hugged him, thinking it might be the last chance he had. "I... am sorry it is this way." Because had he come here sooner, perhaps none of this would have happened on a last day to live. Perhaps they could have known each other longer.Ah, such regret. Though nothing to change it. "Do not do anything foolish for me. Please be safe, no matter the cost." He added sadly, clutching at Kashi's robes a moment longer. "And do not do what you have done again. Do not throw your life away for my sake. I... will not be of much use. But I will do what I can." He gazed at the other, intending to meet his gaze as he released him from the hug. That was all he wanted really, one last peaceful moment before it turned poorly. "I... we should go now. To find a weapon and fulfill the promises made."

With that he let out a tired sigh, offering a genuine smile to the other man. "Thank you, I believe I would have given up to die bye now if we had not met." He did have some determination left to him. He wasn't intending to die, he just knew it might be inevitable. A brief nod before he turned, heading off to accomplish the last few tasks and move to the field.

As was the command.

Shaheen nodded with Lifen's words, willing to go along with whatever was planned for her sake. She did not quite know the extent of the woman's relationship with Mengyao, but she did know he was very important to her at least.

"So we shall wait, th---" Her words were cut off as something began to take place, a new figure, a stranger? No...the Silver King! She stared at the events as the unfolded from a viewpoint far to distant to do anything about it in time. "Oh...well this is interesting..." She murmured to herself, frowning and wondering just where this was all going to lead.

When it was all over, The Emperor descended once more, and despite knowing it was not real, that she did not really owe an allegiance to this fake King, she found herself straightening, stepping away from the other, and with some small concentration summoning her dagger to hand.

"I think maybe waiting is no longer necessary. It appeared as though he took quite a hit up there. Shall we go?" Of course, she would be ready to throw herself into battle, if the way her eyes suddenly lit up was any indication.

"But first." She slashed at the front of her top, then tore it off, throwing the remains of it to the side, then bent down to make a slash in her red and gold skirts as well, high up her thigh. What was left was something far more resembling the Chieftain of War, though without her marks of insanity.

"Now I am ready."

Turning, she strode away from the others, only assuming that they would all be along soon as well.
