((I was expecting a new thread but this works too xD And oh my god the rhymes.)) A tiny light hovered just outside the frosted windows of Jowy's home. Lisianthus peered inside, puffing her cheeks out in frustration with the human male. She could feel the holiday cheer radiating from all the other houses on the block, but this one was dry as a bone, like a desert. She had her work cut out for her tonight. She'd deal with him later; for now she'd work on the outside and force some decorations onto this shack of unmerriment, starting with some Christmas lights and adding a few icicles here and there.

((Sorry...I can't help it ^^; How the Grinch Stole Christmas is one of my favorite holiday cartoons around this time of year. razz )) Jowy had not clue what was going on, because he was too busy reading. It was a good part too, the heroic knight was just about the slay the evil Dark King who was stealing the taxes, and the souls, of the people. Yet just as he was about to the good parts he looked up and noticed a faint glowing light outside of his window. "What is that?" he asked himself outloud and, after putting on a coat, snuck outside to see what was up. He gasped when he saw the mess. His how was covered in lights! Various lights of blues, greens, silvers, and golds. What was even more strange was a small ball of light seemed to be making them appear almost magically. Well he would have enough of this! That was for sure! Quietly and carefully he snuck up on the glowing light, and cupping his hands, he slapped them together quickly, in hopes to trap whatever was causing this inside of his hands. Jowy didn't want to kill it, but whatever it was he was going to put a stop to it's Merrymaking!

((Can't blame ya, everyone loves that movie. ^-^ )) Lisianthus let out a startled yelp when Jowy's hands suddenly closed around her. "Hey! Let me out of here!" she cried while flailing about inside his hands, punching and kicking at every surface in hopes of freedom.

Let me out of here!" she cried while flailing about inside his hands, punching and kicking at every surface in hopes of freedom. "Oh shut up you....you magical ball of light thing!" he grumbled as he entered the house. Jowy had to act quickly. While her kicking and punching didn't hurt his hands, he was getting tired of holding his hands in the position they were in. Looking around the room, he noticed a chocolate frosting jar and smiled. Opening his hands slightly he grabbed the mysterious ball of light, gently, with one hand as he now used his free hand to pop off the lid of the frosting jar. You could probably figure out what he did next. Since the jar was made of glass he could see exactly what was inside. Luckally for the fairy the chocolate frosting only filled about half the jar. Quick as a wink, he trapped the ball of light into the jar, putting the lid back on. "There you go! Now pest, gorge on that frosting while I get rid of those lights!" he grumbled storming out of the kitchen leaving the lid half open not relizing she could probably free herself easily, that was if the frosting wasn't tempting her.

"Augh, I'm all icky now!" Lisianthus groaned, hovering above the frosting for a moment and trying to clean herself off to the best of her ability before squeezing out of the jar. She flitted over to the sink, giving herself a quick shower and drying herself off with a stray dish towel she found lying around before going after Jowy. "Fairy KICK!!" she cried as she rammed her foot into the back of his head. She knew he'd try to grab her again, but this time she knew it was coming and could dodge him.

Turning he rubbed the back of his head and stared angrily into the face of an..angry...fairy? His anger turned to dis-belief and then utter confusion. "You aren't supposed to exhist?" he asked with a frown then gently poked her flat belly gently with his finger, "Y-Yet you are!?" Stepping back he balled his fists. "Go back where you came from! Shoo! Shoo!! I don't need you mucking up my house with Christmas stuff!" he growled angrily.

"Make me!" Lisianthus stuck her tongue out at him as she hovered just out of his reach while continuing to decorate his house faster than he could take it all down. "You're way too grumpy for the holiday season; clearly I need to stick around that much longer and fix that!"

"You're way too grumpy for the holiday season; clearly I need to stick around that much longer and fix that!" Poof! a festive Christmas tree here, Shazow! some holly and mistletoe there, Kawhoosh! some tinsel and a wreathes. Jowy did his best to try and remove everything but couldn't. In fact as he was chasing the fairy around the room he was swatting at her in hopes to knock her out of the sky but his efforts were to no avail. He wasn't paying attention to where he was going and tripped over one of his furniture pieced and crashed to the ground. Rubbing his sore leg, nothing was broken, just his spirit. "Oh I give up!" he cried sitting there on the floor, "Go ahead torture me more! It's...not like anybody cares about me anyway...I hate this stupid Holiday. No magical fairy twinkleface is going to change that either!" he sighed frowning sadly.

"Ooohhh, is that it? All you need is a companion for the holidays and you'll be happy, is that what you're saying?" Holding her elbow, she put a finger to her chin and touched down on the corner of the coffee table. "Well, you are quite the problem Scrooge...." she snapped her fingers and a small clipboard appeared in her hands. "...Multiple visits over the years with no success, and agents have been granted the okay to take whatever measures are necessary..." she flipped through her papers, giving little 'mhm's to herself as she thought things over. "Eh, looks like the rest of my cases are small time anyway. Everyone gets the holiday blues every now and then." A pen poofed into her hand and she scribbled something down before both pen and clipboard disappeared. "You're just our only terminal case since the real Scrooge." she said before flitting over to sit on his head. "Now, what's this about no one caring about you? Because I know for a fact that's not true!"

This probably was a dream, or some odd reaction to the egg nog he had consumed earlier that evening. No matter the reason he figured he'd just humor Ms. Fairy, who was now gently sitting on his head. Her words did pierce at his heart though. A scrooge? Him? He had never thought about it. When she finally asked he was unsure of what to say, then let out a sigh. "I guess it all started when I was in high school and asked a girl out to a Christmas Dance. She agreed but I was stood up by an upper classman..I guess. Personally, I really don't know why I dislike Christmas. Maybe a girl is what I'm missing from my life?" he sighed and looked up at the fairy. "I have a name..it's Jowy." he added with a slight frown, "Is that why you've come? To do your job and make sure I'm "happy and full of Christmas Spirit" ? You're just like everybody else then..I just don't feel it anymore. Though there was a time..and I'm sure YOU know about it..since you seem to know so much about me." he said sadly.

"Yes, yes, I know your name...We're just not supposed to get too close to our case subjects. Though I guess the situation's changed, so I admit that that was rather rude of me. I'm sorry." Lisianthus apologized with a small bow of her head. "We don't actually keep whole biographies of everyone, though it probably seems that way. Christmas is supposed to be a magical time of year, right? Well it doesn't get that way without people thinking so. People need to have the right spirit to fuel all those little holiday moments. And moods can be contagious, you see? If too many people are in a bad mood, our magic weakens, the little holiday miracles don't happen, people's moods worsen, and then it's this big nasty magic-sucking cycle. The really gloomy cases like you, we call Scrooges because it's not just a case of the holiday blues brought on by stress and shopping, and are especially powerful in bringing down people's moods. And now you're stuck with me for the rest of the season. I couldn't leave even if you wanted me too." she finished as she folded her little arms.

"So basically you'll die out if people aren't happy around Christmas time enough?" he asked biting his lip. "That's..kind of harsh. Not everyone has fond and happy memories of this holiday. Heck I know drunks that spend their Christmases wishing for their days of childhood....You sound like the secretary type. Always dotting around her manager's desk trying to get that next promotion." he said with sarcasm and smirked. "Tell me secretary, do you have a name? Or do you want me to come up with something..."cute" for you?" he mused.

"Oh yes! It's Lisianthus! But my friends call me Lis." she said flying out in front of his face and giving a little curtsie. "It's nice to formally meet you, Jowy!" Up close, Jowy could get a better look at her. She had short white hair, elfish ears, and a pair of dimly glowing wings that looked like they were made of ice. Dressing her tiny frame was, unsurprisingly, a short red dress with fluffy white trim, a pair of matching boots and fingerless gloves, and a tiny top hat that leaned a little off to one side.

Lis was cute...for a fairy. Blushing a little he glanced away. "It's nice to meet you Lis. So..I guess you work for Santa?" he asked returning his attention to the little Christmas fairy. Still noticing she was covered in frosting he sighed. "I'm sorry I got you all dirty.." With a stand he looked down at her. "I'll show you where the bathroom is so you can get cleaned up. I'm not sure how to wash your clothing though." he chuckled a little to himself.

"Ah, right...I took a little shower in your sink, but I guess the clothes could still use a good scrubbing." Lis said while looking down at her dress. "And sort of, but not really. Yeah, we make Christmas miracles happen, but we actually work year round. Every season has it's moments, so it's more like our job to just make people happy. Christmas is just such an important time of the year, we go into overtime for it."
