Jasmine woke early one morning to the sound of her cell ringing. She groaned, wanting to just ignore it. She had been off for two months thanks to her last case and since her cell was blaring the song Miss Murder, by AFI, she knew it was the agency. She was just now really recovering from her wound and enjoying not really working for the agency. She had a feeling her cell would wake her sleeping partner anyway so she didn't move. From the foot of the bed came a dog's yawn, Avarice didn't mind sleeping there now. If he had then there would have been a problem. Soon the noise of her cell became too much and Jasmine nudged the person she was sleeping with. "Wake up and answer the cell Neil," she mumbled. She then closed her eyes because, according to her sense of time it was around 6 A.M., and she never got up that early if she could help it. Plus it was December now and quite cold. Her last case had been in October, two months ago to the day. Jasmine really didn't like the cold.

Neil placed a heavy hand on the night table and almost knocked somethings off before his hand found the phone. He slowly turned onto his back as he answered the phone. He skipped saying hello and asked "What?" It being close to 6 A.M. kept him form being nice to however it was that was calling. The agency told him about the police asking them to take over a case for them and gave him the few details they had. He shook his head and rubbed his eyes, trying to get himself awake. They told him to go check the crime scene and to bring Jasmine along, and they made it a point to stress that she has been out long enough and that it was time to get back to work. He hung up the phone when they were finish talking and looked over to Jasmine. He placed a hand on her shoulder and shook her gently saying "Time to go back to work."

Jasmine groaned. "Why drag me back in," she grumbled. "I only got those staples out a week ago. Must I go?" She still hadn't opened her eyes but she was awake. She didn't want to leave the bed.

"Would you like me to get some ice?" Neil asked threatening her with a rude wake up. He knew that she didn't enjoy the cold, but there was little that could be done about that.

"You wouldn't dare," Jasmine said as she opened her eyes. "Anyway, if you have to go I'm going too. Not a thing will change that, except maybe snow. Then it really is too cold."

Neil couldn't hide his smile, they both knew that he would use ice if he had to. He cut a quick glance to the window before saying "No, snow is not to cold. Besides it isn't snowing, and yes I have to go."

Jasmine sat up and yawned. "We at least get time for breakfast," she asked sleepily. She hadn't really slept well since her last case.

"Yes" Neil said as he got up and stretched out his arms, he heard a few joints popped. He let his arms fall down to his side as he changed into the clothes that he would be wearing. He then walked out and headed towards the kitchen.

'I really wish they wouldn't pull me back into this,' Jasmine thought before getting up and dressing in her usual winter clothes. Avarice watched her from the end of the bed. "You have to come too boy," Jasmine said, giving his head a pat. The dog got up and jumped to the floor and together they went into the kitchen.

Neil grabbed a bowl of cereal and was eating it, as she walked into the kitchen. He thought about were the crime scene was at and how best to get there. I doubt that she would want to ride her bike in this cold weather, but I can never be sure.

Jasmine put down some dog food for Avarice and grabbed a bowl of cereal. "You know I really wish the nightmares would stop," she mumbled as she sat down. "I hate that I'm waking you up every night." She began to eat then but really just picked at her food.

"Picking at it won't make it go away." Neil told her as he saw that she was just picking at her food. "Yes I know that you want them to stop, but I will always help you. Even if it is in the middle of the night." He added as he slowly finished off his cereal.

Jasmine sighed. She hadn't been eating much in the last two months. Her last had really shaken her.

"Eat, before I throw a bucket of ice water on you." Neil threatened her with a small smile on his face covering the concern he felt for her. He noticed that she hadn't been eating much, which he knew wasn't a good sign.

Jasmine took a single bite. She couldn't really help it. Her stomach had trouble keeping things down now.
