No day is too bad it can't be fixed with a nap... Shippo had been helping Lori with the children and the villagers when the shield went down. When he saw the dead villagers, his eyes teared up. Sure, he'd seen dead people before. But this was different. Inuyasha had asked him to protect the village, and he felt like he failed. He stopped himself, not wanting to cry. Then suddenly Lori-chan started wailing. Shippo was worried and rushed over to her. Her gramps was there, holding her and she was crying over the dead. He would have placed his hand on hers and said. "It wasn't your fault. Inuyasha trusted me to keep them safe. And everyone did. We were caught off-guard, and the only thing we can really do now is to help the dead move on and help the living rebuild their homes. We'll all need your help to keep the kids under control." He tried to offer a smile. When she'd quieted down, he would have looked at the old fox and then left the pair to help the villagers again. He would stop to watch Kino's flame ritual. Shippo was curious as to what it meant, but decided to wait until later to ask. Once everyone was settled down, he would look around for a place to sleep. He would spot Kino and the wolves all sleeping outside of Kaede's hut in a big group. He would curl up into a ball in the middle of a cluster of them. They would acknowledge him, then go back to sleep.
~~~
Shippo would rub his eyes when the sun rose, but not wake just yet. When he did wake, he sat up and yawned and stretched. He looked around at the scorched and rampaged village. Reminder of the battle from the day before. He stood and went to where Lori and her grandfather would be sleeping. He would wait for Lori to get up, playing with a stick in the sand while he did.ooc:
Moving through the trees, Hotaru finally stepped out into the village. Her eyes instantly became extremely sad. A battle had happened here. She was afraid of that. Reaching out, she felt the kitsune Kurama had begun to mark this territory temporarily. A tired smile appeared. Inuyasha would throw a fit. It was a neccesary precaution. She was too weak to place a protection spell around the village. Moving forward, she descended into the village. She saw that two of the people were missing, her calculation coming from her last visit when they had all been here. Moving to the main hut, she looked at the many villagers. There were definitely less than before. A few of them that had woken up were staring at her in hostility. They dared not attack. Moving to where she was standing by Shippo and the old kitsune and the half kitsune, she kneeled. "Hello little one." She was focused on Shippo. "I am sorry I was away and could not prevent this attack."
Lorelai had exhausted herself from crying and her grandfather once again turned into his fox form to give her comfort. One Lorelai had fallen asleep, Gramps lay down near Kaede's hut with Lorelai curled up next to him and used one of his many tails as a blanket to cover his granddaughter's sleeping form. When Lorelai awoke, it seemed to be around eight or nine o'clock in the morning. She slowly took note of her snoring grandfather in his fox form and gave a fond smile as she watched him snooze. Careful not to wake him, Lorelai gently pushed his tails off of her before standing up and stretching. Lorelai spotted Shippo not too far away and went over to greet him, careful to step around his doodles in the sand so she wouldn't mess them up. She gave a weak smile and patted Shippo on the head in greeting. "H'llo, Shippo. Thanks for what you said earlier. I really appreciate it." Lorelai wasn't fully awake yet and didn't seem to register Hotaru standing nearby. Instead, she kept talking to Shippo. "I'm sure I look a mess, so I think I'll head down to the stream to wash up a bit before seeing what I can do to help everyone...might also help me to wake up." Lorelai stifled a yawn and sleepily rubbed at her eyes as she blurrily made her way down to the stream to wash her hands and face.
The sky... The sea... There is always a place to be... Izuna! Masato Tanaka Go Shikigami! This was the one time that Masato had awoken with some restful sleep, how long had he been in this time? A few days passing by, the morning sun over the top. He had left from a hut provided for his stay, the villagers were rather generous to him. Maybe they were already used to this? Is it perhaps we helped them to safety from that raid? It didn't matter as long as everyone was safe from harm. Two familiar faces escaped from the confines of the hut and skittered across the ground. His new friends seemed to be refreshed and in delight, mewing of this shining morning. Both foxes stood side by side like bodyguards, they followed at his own walking pace. Examining the area, the villagers were at work to what the yokai have caused. There were damages here and there, houses torn down to what may take days to build again. Bloodshed from both sides, it was inevitable that only they were able to reduce the amount of casualties. He rubbed his sleepy eye on his left, soon he moved to his hair to ruffle up a bit. He wondered how this morning will turn out to be.
Over the distance, he spotted Kurama walking on his own. To his own knowledge, where he headed was something he couldn't tell. Maybe a conversation would be a nice fitting mood of the morning. He shifted his walk to a jog, maybe it wasn't a good idea from returning of a tiring nap. His foxes ran after him until Masato slowed down for a moment. A wave of a hand signaled over to his new friend. "Good Morning." Walking slowly on over to meet him, his mind rushed and picked for words to be for today's talk. "Seems rather quiet today, isn't it?" He didn't want to bring up yesterday's incident, it was too much to think about to forgetting was his best option. His little friends jolted after Kurama, mewing at him for some attention. They were attached to him all night in his sleep, he never expected them to have so much energy.Location - Kaede's Village Action - Wandering Conversation - Kurama Kind of mood - Tired Objective - None Outside - Fair Crush - None.
 ¤ Youko Kurama •Where?: Kaede's Village •Who?: people •What?: Alert and Focused •Mine?: A wide variety of herbs and Mekai plants "You should never corner an animal such as a fox...we have a tendency to show our fangs" ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇ ▇▇ Once Kurama had finished eating a quick bowl of stew, he saw that the others were just starting to awaken, he moved off towards the northern edge of the village towards inuyasha's forest. As he got there he closed his eyes and released his youki around his person, a silver light enveloped his person, soon his red hair is bleached out by silvery silky hair as he became Youko Kurama. As Youko, he isn't as chatty as Shuiichi. he is a little more like Sesshomaru being a Fox Daiyokai. His clothes changed to all white clothes and his fluffy silver fox tail flicked a little at as back. As he reached the edge of the village, Masato-kun caught up to him in a jog with his fox shikigamis. "Good Morning." He'd say in greeting and slowed from the jog to come up to him slowly, "Seems rather quiet today, isn't it?" Judging by the casual tone and the way the kid shifts Youko can tell immiediatly that what happened the day before is bothering the kid. And he would rather act as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. After having merely looked at Masato, Youko then moved on out into the forest. "Quiet it may be...a threat could still linger in the shadows of silence. I will ensure the safety of this area myself." He said simply. "If you intend to follow me, then stay near. Vermin could attack once we leave the boundaries of the village." After that Youko fell silent and just kept walking with the uncanny grace of something not human, tuned to his surrounds very strongly. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇ ▇▇ [OOC]
Once Lorelai had washed her face and hands, she'd gathered up all the children in the village to an area out of everyone's way where the adults could still keep a watchful eye on them. Lorelai managed to distract the kids by promising to give them a ride on her back one at a time while she ran a lap around the village. One lap for each child. Considering how many children there were, it was good exercise for Lorelai and heaps of fun for the little ones. At the moment, Lorelai had a small girl riding on her back squealing with laughter as Lorelai ran at a pretty decent pace that allowed her to keep up momentum and yet gave her plenty of time to avoid obstacles as well. As Lorelai came up to Masato and Kurama, she grinned and cheerfully called out in greeting, "Hi Masato! Hi Kurama!" As she passed them and headed back toward the village she yelled with as much enthusiasm, "Bye Masato! Bye Kurama!" If they'd been able to get a good look at her face as Lorelai passed, perhaps they would have noticed her smile seemed a bit forced. Her cheerfulness and enthusiasm probably rang with a false tone to anyone who bothered to detect it. Today, her sunny attitude was merely a brave and determined facade to keep her sadness and grief to herself out of fear of upsetting the children.
The sky... The sea... There is always a place to be... Izuna! Masato Tanaka Go Shikigami! The same change that Masato had come across, Kurama's true form that he come across before. Nothing can mistaken his eye sight, his own greeting didn't even effect him much. It was a change that he forgotten shortly, that his usual formal self he expected to come across. He was still Kurama either way, that he would accept so a different look wasn't bad. His response seemed to have a colder tone, a return greeting or gesture would have been nice. He turned to see Lorelai running with a child on her back, he smiled of the thought that they were having fun. He waved to return the hello as she ran past them. Masato blinked once, it was a rather odd feeling that crawled on him. Before her face turning, something was off from her expression. Was he just imagining things? He wasn't sure, but all that had happened yesterday had an effect to everyone, including himself. Kurama notified of his departure, taking on the task of doing a search of the village's boundary.
From all the action that had been going on, it wouldn't be new to him to get involved in a dangerous predicament. The thought of him getting into danger made him want to stay behind, exhausted at the thought of coming across another yokai would just be a threat. Watching Kurama leaving, Masato was hesitant of going off with him to the forest. Then again, in the state he was in that he wouldn't need such protection with that enormous strength that he upheld. The villagers need more help to rebuild their destroyed homes, a thought that an extra hand would be needed. He did say himself that he would take care of it himself. "Alright, I'll stay behind to help the others. Just be careful out there." A small smile before turning back to the village, he kept on his toes to be cautious more to the surroundings of the village. Walking back, he took notice of a feminine figure that he was able to easily distinguish in sight. He jogged on over to Hotaru, with Shippo and the old fox she was with. "Hello Hotaru." Just her expression alone, it couldn't be helped though talking should do something to ease the mind. Just her alone to come this far, the others who went after Kagome haven't returned. The two Shikigami had caught up with him, easily surround Hotaru, not in hostility but in curiosity.Location - Kaede's Village Action - Wandering Conversation - Kurama, Hotaru Kind of mood - Tired Objective - None Outside - Fair Crush - None.
As Lorelai spent more time playing with the children, her smile ever so slowly became more natural. Lorelai felt most comfortable around children, perhaps because in some ways she was still a child herself. Lorelai still had a sense of innocence and naivety concerning the world in general, a fact that worried her grandfather to no end as he secretly wondered if he'd done too good a job in giving Lorelai a sheltered lifestyle. At the moment, Lorelai was happily dancing and skipping to a lively tune she was playing on a short flute that her grandfather had taught her. A healthy red flush had crept to her cheeks from her exertions and for once it seemed Lorelai was genuinely enjoying herself after the disaster of last night. For Lorelai, there was no better cure for sadness than an upbeat strain of music, especially with such an appreciative audience as the children clapped and cheered her on.
Demon Form:  Human Form: After Gramps awoke still in his fox form and located his granddaughter playing with the children, he gave a fond smile as he watched for a bit before heading off to see what needed to be done around the village. He started by helping to gather building supplies and materials, using his many tails to carry what was needed before conveniently distributing everything to areas where they were needed the most. Once he was certain everyone had all the supplies and materials they needed to repair or rebuild their homes, he went out with a foraging party to gather meats and vegetables for everyone, carrying a particularly large collecting basket on his back. Upon returning with food aplenty, Gramps relinquished his basket to the village women in the hopes they could cook up something tasty for everyone since it seemed all the villagers were so busy nobody had stopped long enough to make anything for breakfast yet. Deciding to take a break, Gramps switched to his human form and rejoined Shippo and Hotaru outside Kaede's hut. "Ah, good morning to you both." Gramps bowed respectfully to Hotaru and gave Shippo a pat on the head in greeting, much like Lorelai had done. "Shippo lad, if you're looking for Lori-chan she's already playing with the children. If you wish to help her, she's past the third hut on the left in a small clearing close to the center of the village."
Standing, Hotaru bowed her head to Masato in recognition. "Hello Masato." Kneeling, she gently rubbed the shikigami's heads. "Hello young ones. You are protecting your master well." Rising, she glanced around. She could smell the thick stench of the demons that attacked. Strangely there was almost a familiar sweet smell the seemed to evade her grasp. Deciding it not worth thinking over, she moved to Masato's side. She appeared aloof and yet sad. "A demon attack came here... It seems you were all able to evade quite a bit of damage." Looking at all the villagers rebuidling, she saw their nervous glances at her. Looking at Masato, she motioned for him to walk with her. "Tell me what has happened young human." her voice was soft and no condescending was in it.
The sky... The sea... There is always a place to be... Izuna! Masato Tanaka Go Shikigami! After her formal greeting, she kneel down to his Shikigami to pet upon their heads. Each give a calming mew at each rub that they received, it wasn't long till those pleasant strokes subsided. From Hotaru's voice, Masato took grasp at her words that gave him an itching feeling. "Master?" He spoke to himself. What did she mean exactly? These foxes were magical surely from his own eyes, but protecting their master? He had been taking care of them, like a pet at home so it kinda made a bit of sense if he thought of it that way. It wasn't long till the old fox came around, human and all without the fur hide. Greeting to both yokai that grouped with him, but it seemed to not take notice of his stature. The fox may be old or just didn't pay attention, it mattered not since he was busy talking to Shippo the little fox yokai. The villagers were at work, taking their time to build the houses and other things that may have been shattered or crushed. Not long till he noticed that Lorelai wasn't among them, might be still with the children she was playing with. The corner of his mind was bothered of the previous look, a forced look that didn't seem to go away. Hopefully, this expression would vanish in his head till it would stay long in the past.
Hotaru had come to his side, it had been a while for a girl to be next him other than his friends back at his own time. Wondering if she was talking to him or herself, a question shouldn't be unanswered at least that's what he thought. "We're lucky that there were fewer casualties, but they still left a mess of things." He looked over to her, keeping at her own pace of walking. Wanting answers of the incident, he nodded and casually told his own side of the story. "When everyone left the village, it wasn't long till demons had arrived. I'm not sure what the cause was for that many demons to come here. At first, they couldn't come into the village and somehow came in, but everyone including myself to help escort the villagers." He took a breathe before he would continue to speak, it made his mouth dry. "We had a visitor came here, helping Kurama and our other friend to fend off the small invasion. We manage to hold them off, but unfortunately we couldn't save some villagers who were caught in the crossfire." Digging into the depths of his memory, nit-picking at the event that would burn into his mind for a long time. "There were a few demons that came, but strangely they weren't like the others who tried to kill us. I don't know what was going on, I was still helping with the villagers to safety." He looked down at his small companions. "These little guys were a big help. I never knew that they were that strong." He smiled down before leaving upon his lips when he focus on track of his footing.
"It seems after Inuyasha left, these demons may have come to extact revenge on the village." A voice piped up that is until Masato smacked from a p***k on his neck, it was an insect or so he thought. In his palm was Myoga, he returned from wherever he had taken off to. "Oh, it's Myoga." Surprised to see that the old flea had made it back in one piece although he was aware that he only ran away on his own. It didn't matter to him, any demon of the same size wouldn't stand around without getting killed. He propped himself back to his feet, glancing over to Hotaru. She was a familiar face to come across through the small flea's eyes.Location - Kaede's Village Action - Walking with Hotaru Conversation - Hotaru, Myoga Kind of mood - Tired, calm Objective - None Outside - Fair Crush - None.
Hotaru hadn't bothered with the old Kitsune. She knew he would come to her in his own time. It was how the elders she had learned acted. Listening to Masato, she froze upon hearing of two demons that were different from the others. A spine tingling feeling rushed up her neck and through her body. These two mysterious demon. She had to find out more about them. Deciding to respond to his comment about his Shikigami, a faint smile appeared in her eyes. Reaching down, she allowed the creatures to crawl on her if they wanted. "These are not ordinary foxes as you may have realized. They were created from the power you hold within. You are a monk. Training you need yes, but the fact that you have managed to encourage your energy to create them shows your potential. They will always be there to guide you as well as protect you. You can manipulate how big they can get as well." At that moment, she heard a smack and glanced down. Her eyes focused on a flea. "Master Myoga, I see that you appear to be a coward yet." There was humor in her voice, a joke in her tone and words. "It may seem that way as well. I wish to know more about the two strange demons though. I know you must have seen something Master Myoga."
Demon Form:  Human Form: Gramps suddenly gave a guilty start as he realized he hadn't greeted Masato. "Oh, terribly sorry lad. I didn't mean to ignore you. " He gave the boy a sheepish grin before adding conversationally, "How are you doing? I'm taking a short break before I try helping the villagers rebuild their homes." He sat down with a sigh as it seemed Masato was planning on taking a walk with Hotaru. Gramps didn't really feel like walking anywhere at the moment or he would have considered following them in the hopes of hearing what Hotaru had to say.
