From the jagged crevice that held Luminette's bones, a skeletal arm could be seen fixed into a reaching pose with the hand limp - just as it had been before but with little to no snow hiding it. If one peeked inside they could see the wilted white roses still above her ear, the once beautiful and ornate dress now ripped and ragged as it loosely hung from her bones. Her hair, perhaps far stringier than it used to be, was still qyite obviously the same blonde it once was beneath the dirt and snow that caked it. It had not been long at all after she left that the blizzard had killed her. To make matters worse, if one thought about it by looking at the way which her remains were posed, it seemed that she had either been hopeful of rescue to the very end or had been mustering what little strength she had to escape her fate. Regardless, she was granted neither. As the sun shined down on the only evidence left of this tragedy, one couldn't help but notice that her spirit was nowhere to be seen. Whether she could not keep to the sun, haunted elsewhere in the forest, or held feelings of betrayal and discontent for Zil's breaking his promise on not telling Lucien, it did not matter. For the moment being, nothing could be seen of her cheerful ghost.

Lucien took a few slow, hesitant steps forward before kneeling down in front of Luminette's remains. He tenderly took her skeletal hand in one of his claws and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Luminette..." he said quietly before looking up and around for any sign of her. "Luminette?" he said again, a little louder this time as he returned to his feet. "Luminette, are you there??" he called one last time as he looked around desperately, now determined that her remains were not the last image he saw of her. Even if she hated him, he wanted to be able to see her youthful spirit instead.

The air in this depressing place was considerably colder and windier than its surroundings, yet still tyere was no sign of the ghostly woman. 'Forgive me.' she thought as she looked towards the worried Lucian, hidden amongst the falling snow as she looked over at the group. This was her punishment for running off to her own doom, for not knowing better. This was also her kindness, for she felt it better that he live his life without the pain and misery she inevitably caused.

Zil felt the chills. Did he forget to do something again? Was his mind too clouded to remember something that he really should at the moment? Rather... Was it the blinding love for the lady holding his hand that forced him to forget everything else or the sudden fear of Lucien's temper, driving him to have said what he said? Right now, he really didn't know but he had a growing feeling something bad was about to happen. He tightened his grip on Adriane's hand.

((OOC: Oh crap. She's pulling the Sauron 'I-see-you' thing. >.<" I wonder what it is~ >w> ))

"Luminette, please! I beg you, let me see you again!" Lucien called as he continued to spin about in circles he looked about the forest for any sign of her spirit. "I don't want things to end the way they did...I'm sorry Luminette, so please won't you come out??" he cried desperately.

Adriane could hear the heartbreak in Lucien's voice. "Minnie," she said sofly, mostly to herself, "please come out. Can't you see? He can't live without you. Sure, he's locked himself in a tower, but he's lonely and depressed. He's surviving. You were his life, his light, his hope. Please, please Minnie for the love of God Almighty, if not to me and Zil, show yourself to him." Small tears were running down her face and she returned the grip on Zil's hand.

Luminette couldn't help but feel more than a little angry upon hearing Adriane's words. The ghostly woman knew that she did not understand, but that did not mean that she had any right to ask her to do something so cruel with such an obvious lie. Were she the volatile sort of spirit, such words would have no doubt provoked her into violence. Instead, she remained out of sight, waiting until they left before she would show herself once more. When casually speaking to the living, Luminette would snark at the years gone by, at superstitions once and still held, as well as her own fate. She would admit to being witchborn, but never to how much it actually weighed upon her consience. Considering her attitude, luck, selfishness, and accursed lineage, Luminette could not help but think that she only brought misery upon those that she dared to love. Talking with strangers and mortal passerbys was nothing, as they would never be exposed to her for long. Remaining in one's life, however, was a cruelty she could not bear to force upon anyone. If that meant that she would be locked forever in sleepless solitude, in a lonely fate perhaps worse than death, then so be it. She dared not show herself to explain, for she knew they wouldn't understand. Zil had already proven that he did not understand her plight either by so heartlessly informing Lucien of her whereabouts, of her continued existance. If anything, the only reason why she stayed near them still was to make sure that none dared to remove her corpse from its final resting place.

"Dammit, Luminette, I'm not leaving until you show yourself!" Lucien growled as he tore his cloak off, starting to get frustrated. It felt like she was taunting and teasing him while he stood here heartbroken. "All I want is to see you again, can't you just grant me that much?!" he cried. "If you never want to see me again....fine. Just let me see you one last time, let me apologize for the way things ended before, and I promise never to bother you again..."

Luminette, it seemed, had little choice. Careful not to sigh too loudly, she began to levatate a stick to write her terms in the moist dirt beneath them. 'I'll only stay if the humans leave. As quickly as possible and they are not to stop within even a mile of my body. Even then, I'll only stay for but a moment. If you do not agree to this, if you insist that what should be private counsil be public, I will let myself disappear from your eyes and theirs forever more!' She didn't like doing this, but she truly believed that Lucien wouldn't leave. She was also rather angry at Zil for breaking his promise.

Zil saw the message and began to tug on Adriane's hand whispering, "I think we've done all we can. We should head out before the villagers start forming a search party for us. If they even will." Zil kind of remembered his promise to Luminette although he wouldn't admit it for fear that Lucien and Adriane would hate him for it. It was a pretty fragile position and it sort of made him uncomfortable.

Adriane nodded. "Good luck, to the both of you." She intertwined her fingers with Zil's and said, "Let's go." She started to walk in the direction of the east, away from both the beast and beauty and their village. She leaned close to Zil and sighed.

Zil returned Adriane's affections and sighed worriedly. He appeared as though he were going to say something but decided not to suddenly. He wanted to tell Adriane about the promise he broke but chickened out of it. He opened his mouth again and instead of saying what he intended, he said, "Do you think those two are going to be alright?"

Adriane shrugged. "I think they will fight, and after they fight, they will see what all this enmity has cost them in the long run...." she said. "I wonder why Minnie was so upset though..."

Ever so hesitantly, Luminette allowed herself to appear behind Lucien. "I'm here. Speak your mind." she said in a soft and gentle tone, not reflecting any sort of anger so much as hesitance and sorrow. She kept a calm looking posture, slightly bent with her arms crossed. Luminette also had that mopey puppy eye look on her face that Lucian had come to know well in the time that she lived with him.
