However, even after five or so of the creatures she was destroying with Nicodemus (she'd gotten quite proficient with him, actually...), she hadn't found the card key yet. Boo. She hoped they wouldn't be doing this all day. That just would have sucked.

By now, Wilson had realized where the trainees had fallen into, and he did not appreciate it. He especially did not appreciate how he found Julie sitting by and idly cheering on the trainees while she picked at an apple pie. There was an instant pang in his stomach. He wanted a piece of that pie. Julie, why won’t you share?? His dismayed expression turned blank at the eerily familiar words. Believe in yourself.
Wilson decided to “believe in himself” and stared at the sign and notable lack of security clearance card. Assuming the card was still around here somewhere, it was probably buried under one of the slimes right? Please let the card still be here.

He surprisingly managed to slice through a number of the slimes when he heard someone above turn on the faucet. Wilson didn’t think too much of it until he heard a very distinct voice sing in vaguely familiar words. While no one could see it under his mask, his face visibly paled. Was that…? Images of being thrown through the air and nearly being choked to death flashed through his mind. “OH GOD NO. STOP IT. PLEASE.”
Wilson definitely did not find the card.

Where they were supposed to retreat was a different matter. Although with enough edging, Harrison found himself against a gate, with a sign that contained the word EMERGENCY.
That, and a card swipe slot.
He squinted at Julie relaxing beyond the barricade, then looked at the expanse of chocolatey sewer. Somebody was singing.
"Hey," Harrison said, nudging Rep and motioning towards the sign, "feel like hunting down a security card?"

Rep had used his moment of downtime to actually look around, spotting Julie and feeling his heart sink. This place got crazier and crazier. Why was it that the more insane people seemed to become in Deus Ex, the stronger they got in turn? Maybe he just had to let himself totally snap one of these days and maybe then he wouldn't end up in these situations.
"I'll ******** believe in hurting her when I get out of here." he snarled
Harrison though interrupted his homicidal thoughts as he mentioned the security card, Rep's thoughts taking a few moments to run to catch up with what he meant, glancing to the slot. Yes. Yes. A thousand times yes, he wanted out of here.
"Aye. Lets get the ******** out of this hell before either the blobs or the singing kill us."

Sydney stared in horror at the card that had just sunk into the--ooze. She felt herself getting stronger as the off-key singing started, and wasn't quite stupid enough to ask WHY she did.

Getting rid of the blobs was only half the battle though, what followed involved a lot of horrible scrabbling and trying not to think about what he was scrabbling /in/.

Alright, this was pretty disgusting disgusting, but being elbow-deep in chocolate s**t...
Harrison snickered as he tried to keep the area clear for Rep.

He tried not to laugh at Rep being covered in chocolate s**t. He tried really hard. But he was just...digging right on in there. Okay he might have laughed a little.
