"As long as you're cool with the occasional betrayal." Amaya said with a grin, rather liking the idea of being able to hurt her family when they annoyed her without actually hurting them. "I want to play games, but like I said, haven't had time." She told them, shrugging a little.

"You're a writer, I think you get to make your own hours so long as you make the deadline. I think your publisher would understand if you decided to take a vacation." Adrian told her.

"The problem is the whole writing while I have the creative juices flowing thing." Amaya sighed. "I could take a break, but lately I've been on a good start."

"I'm sure I'll lost it soon enough." Amaya muttered as they walked into the comic book store, Amaya going off to a corner to look at all the stuff that wasn't comics.

Riley scampered off to browse, Adrian following to keep an eye on him, hoping to find some new issues of his favorite heroes. Topping his list were superheroes like Flash, Spiderman, Deadpool, and really any superhero that could have witty banter in the middle of a fight. Shocking many of his friends, he actually couldn't stand Batman for all the stoic brooding he seemed to do.

"Find anything good?" Amaya asked as she came over and rested her head on Adrian's shoulder, watching as he looked through the new issues. It was cute to see Riley and Adrian get excited about comics, she was just happy to be out for a little bit, though being in a nerd environment was different.

"I don't know, you tell me." Adrian said with a smile, looking from the rack he was mindlessly flipping through down to Riley, who had already plopped down by his feet to read.

"Psh. Well how should I know? I barely read comics. Really the only ones I ever read are in the paper." She muttered as she looked at the books he flipped through.

"Like I said, I never really read 'em, I just watched the cartoons based on them." Adrian said with a shrug. "And you know he's found something good when he's decided to sit down in the store and read while completely tuning everything else out." he said looking back down at Riley in amusement.

"Perhaps we should just buy it for him then." Amaya mused as she looked down at him. "Pick three Riley. I can't stay in here all day." She told the little boy, shaking her head slightly.

"Hm?" Riley looked up upon hearing his name, taking a moment to process what was said after getting pulled from his comic induced trance. "Oh, sweet!" he said with a grin before hopping up, taking the comic he'd been reading with him while quickly searching the nearby shelves for two other comics he wanted. "Okay, I'm ready!" he said after rushing back to his parents and thrusting his small stack of comics at them.

Amaya smirked and rolled her eyes, taking the comics from Riley and bringing them up to the counter. She paid for them and then handed the bag back to Riley, opening the door for Riley and Adrian before she headed out herself. "Don't say we never did anything for you." She teased Riley as she walked back towards the apartment.

"I know, I love you guys." Riley said with a bright smile as he quickly hugged one of each of his parents' legs, as he was too short to reach any higher.
