It didn't make her laugh or anything, but it broke one of the barriers that she kept up. No smiles happened, but internally, she couldn't help but snicker and shake her head. It was true... food did make people less bitchy and the woman definitely needed that. Actually, both did. Then again, she wasn't going to be around long enough for it to matter. She wondered if Verra would be.
Not that it mattered.
Looking forward again, she sat down at a chair, not speaking as the food was put in front of them. It was food, she wasn't picky, but she did have to put out her cig. Taking it from her lips, she placed the lit end against her fingertip, taking the embers away for a moment, pocketing the remaining piece of the cancer stick. Nothing more was even noticed by her before she poked at the food, waiting for the others to at least take a bite before she did. Trust issues? Nope, not her... █║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█║☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷

Icarius dropped the paint off with Xavier while he looked around other rooms to see if he could find anything useful. Most of the doors had been locked, and he didn't feel like breaking any down without any back-up. He looted the rooms for anything he thought would be useful, or things that he found interesting. He came back from his little adventure with a children's knapsack filled with everything from potato chips and bottled water to duct tape and golden jewlery. He also had a junior hockey stick that he carried in the hand that had previously been carrying his gun. His gunw as of course back on his belt.
He returned to the pair of humans he had found and looked at Xavier closely. The other man needed comfort in this time of crisis, and he smiled just slightly as Coraline tried to get Xavier's mind off of things with light conversation. "I'm back, with goodies," Icarius purred, keeping his blue eyes on Xavier curiously before he hefted the bag off his shoulder to show his spoils to his companions.

"You're just an incredibly monotone piece of work, aren't you?" Verra commented, quirking an eyebrow and lowering his eyelids at Blondie. "Ssso boring."
The group arranged themselves around a modest dining table -- Verra had a slight issue getting into the chair, as it was a slightly awkward shape and he preferred crouching or crawling to sitting politely. He ignored the utensils that had been haphazardly laid out; his mouth tended to burn or, at the very least, severely tarnish cutlery. Instead, he speared a bit of meat with one claw, popping it into his mouth and chewing thoughtfully.
"Ain't poisssoned, is it?" the alien added as an afterthought, then let out a hissing chuckle. His digestive tract was so different than a human's: poisons usually ended up doing little, while certain innocuous human drinks had nearly killed him before. With this in mind, he nudged Tora. "Might want to wait for Blondie to take a bite," he murmured in a tone that was several octaves lower than his normal voice.

Sydelle WestYou're not a hero, you're a liar...
"Oh, do I not amuse you?" Sydelle replied. "How terribly tragic." She sat down and looked at the plate in front of her. It wasn't 5 star, but it looked fairly edible. It didn't escape her notice that Verra murmured something to his companion. She chuckled at his question, noting Tora's uneasiness as well. "You put a new face to the phrase 'trust issues'." She said, eating a bite. She chewed slowly and swallowed. She didn't fall over dead. But the corners of her mouth did turn down ever so slightly. "Needs salt." She said evenly.
...you're not a savior, you're a vampire.

Coraline looks at Icarius when he said he brought so called "goodies" She leans a bit to see the bag he's holding on his shoulder. "what did you bring?" she asks still looking at the bag's size, seeing if he brought somthing big or small. But to her it seemed to be quiet small.

☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷█║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█║Lips quirking up for just a second, Tora nodded slightly to Verra. If the food was poisoned, it'd be fun to watch that woman fall dead, or at least twitch a little. At least then she'd get some emotion and work in her. However, she was disappointed when she did no such thing. Darn. And here Tora thought they might get dinner and a show.
Even after the others ate, Tora didn't touch the food for a bit. It wasn't that she wasn't hungry, she was, but... her mind was just elsewhere. it was rude to ignore the food. Since when did rude matter, though? Sighing softly, the woman finally took a bite, not caring either way on how it tasted. her eyes went to the others around her. Slowly, calculating. These people were so different... not that she really knew what to do with much, anymore at least. Someone that let in random strangers, an alien, an emotionless woman... definitely not her crew. Not her family. But... was this what the world had come down to? The neutral face turned to a slight frown. If so... that wasn't good. Tora wasn't emotionless, she enjoyed relaxing as much as the next girl, but damn. if this was the world, screw that. She'd just live in the sky if she could. █║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█║☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷

tina138 "Hows this?!" Desirae exclaimed turning her body to face downward. Then like something out of an insane game, she pushed off of thin air and plummeted toward Arachne; "Dragons Bite!" she yelled coming close to the beast and pulling back her spear. With some electromagnetic energy she sent a flurry of super fast thrusts at the top of Arachne, piercing its shoulders and knocking the blade arms off. "Now! Get the head!" she ordered. "Hey fly boy want to try again?!" Tina joked and rushed in jumping up high; "Rocket!" she yelled and smacked Arachne with her axe like a paddle smacking her up in the air a bit; "That's not the end!" she continued slamming to the ground and charging off toward the mutated spider and smacked her high into the air from below. "Get up there and finish it!" she ordered to Ventes.

Xavier gave Coraline a weak smile, as she sat down on the kitchen counter. "Not much of an artist. But the work needed done." He said. Before he knew it, Icarius had returned carrying a small sack full of "goodies" as he had called it.
Xavier leaned forward to peer into the bag, but suddenly lost his train of thought for a moment. Icarius was staring at him. With blue eyes. It was a curious look, however it may have been a trick of the light. Xavier glanced over at Coraline and realized he must look pretty foolish, sitting there gawking, and spacing off.
"Sorry. I was just thinking about... things." He said, shaking his head to clear his thoughts. "Anyways, oooh. Potato chips. I haven't had those in forever." He said, snatching them out of the bag very catlike. He settled back into his chair, and waited for Icarius to take a seat. The room was silent for a moment. Xavier knew what he wanted to say, but he wanted to give it time to mull over in his head.
"Icarius." He said, finally speaking. "Have you ever lost anyone? Just curious..." ((He's not being rude to Coraline, he's going to ask her next razz He just wanted to ask Icarius first since he seems very strong and independent, and not very 'broken.' Btw, I had to re-type this, because it got deleted on accident. wtf.))

Icarius rolled his eyes before he sat down beside Xavier and took off his helmet. He set it on top of the knapsack as he put it on the ground and replied, "Sure I have... not to mention that if I don't get back to my own time, I've practically lost everyone I had ever known... but I'm not like most people. I don't need time to grieve, because I generally take things as they are. If I'm stuck here, I'll deal with that, and honestly I don't really care about those I've left behind. People die all the time in my profession."
He was being completely honest with his answer, regardless of how heartless it may have seemed. He really didn't care if he would never see the group he hung out with ever again, or that everyone that he was supposed to care about was in a completely separate timeline. Relationships were mainly just tools to Icarius. The only one he would regret leaving behind was Prometheus, and he'd brought him along with him, so he had no real reason to mourn in his own mind.
Icarius continued looking at Xavier intently, wondering why such a question would be important to the other man.

"Got it! Just keep moving!" Natalie yelled back, a few steps behind Jasmine. Whenever something came within twenty yards—which was the furthest she trusted her aim—she took a shot. Unsurprisingly, she missed the head nearly as often as she hit it. Although just a handgun, the bullet was still large enough to send up a spray of splatter and gore with every headshot. Carefully, Natalie counted the number of times she pulled the trigger. At six, she ejected the clip and exchanged it for a full one that was in a side pocket on her pack, all while still running. She'd only brought three magazines with her, plus a single box of ammo. That day had started out as a simple scouting trip.
The less-decayed, quicker zombies broke off from the pack charging from the parking lot, so Natalie focused her efforts on them. They were harder targets, but the more immediate threat.
Jasmine's shouting caught her attention, and Natalie spared just enough time to examine the duo waiting in the hospital. She wasn't sure, but it seemed like they were both in medical uniforms. It could have been her imagination.
"Get ready to close up behind us!" she shouted, leaping over a fire hydrant like she was running track and then scrabbling over a car hood. It was one of the vehicles that Jasmine hadn't waved around like a child's toy.
Food and medical supplies, she reminded herself sternly. That's all they wanted from the hospital. She remembered her reservations earlier about going here versus their other options, but she hoped her gut instincts had been wrong.{{Nothing to say here other than it's been an extremely dreary, drizzly day where I live.}}

Jasmine Langdon Jasmine sees the zombies, one of the zombies and uses a car that is near the entrance, flinging it over Natalie's head and at them, "That should hold them off! Hurry!" She makes it into the entrance, breathing staying just out of arm's reach, turning around, and taking a few steps, her senses keen to keeping an eye on the two, not trusting them, she doesn't exactly trust Natalie, but she's forced to due to survival. As soon as Natalie is in safe she turns to the weirdly dressed people, "Shut the door!"

✘✘Evelyn Alice✘✘ Open wide.. Evelyn quickly punched in the code then swiped her ID card in the little slot but as the door was closing one zombie flung himself in, ready to pounce on them. Dr. Howard jumped in front of them and kicked it right in the chest, sending it backwards into the door. It smashed his head like a baseball bat to a pumpkin, leaving brain and chunks of skull to ooze out the creese of the door. Alice turned to the girls as if nothing had happend. "It is a pleasure, care to let us take a look at you?"...Its time for your medicine ((Sorry. I was out running around all day. sweatdrop ))

Digging in, Moo smiled at their bickering. "Don't worry, it's not poisoned. Although I doubt you will take my word for it." He said, chuckling. Going to the nearby cupboard, he took out the salt, sat back down, and handed it to Sydelle. "Now, I know you all are wondering, why does this wierd dude let random strangers in?" He said, folding his arms in his lap. He looked down at them, a sad look on his face. "Well, lets just put it this way. Everything I do, I do it for a reason. If I have guests here, when I come home, I will know what to expect. A nice, clean, uninfected household. Assuming you are all trustworthy people." He said, sitting back. "But such a breed is rare in this world. That is ok though, I have insurance. I'm not a total idiot. Just a partial." He said jokingly, while finishing his food. "Now Tora, shall we? He asked. Calmly putting his plate in the sink, he went into the armory, and grabbed his body armor, two pistols with silencers, and a fireman's ax. Looking it behind him, he waited outside of the kitchen for Tora.

Xavier stared intently at Icarius the whole time he answered the question. By the end of it, Xavier wore a smirk on his face. "I used to think that way. Exactly that way." He said. He seemed to be at a loss for words; for now. It did seem a bit heartless of Icarius to say these things, but Xavier had no room to question it. He could very easily relate.
"I don't think you'll always feel that way," Xavier said, seeming to find his voice again. "You may or may not. But time will tell. For me anyways, I didn't always feel that way." Xavier said, then glanced at Coraline.
He wasn't completely sure, but she seemed very amused, sitting up there on the counter. Xavier stood up, and walked to the window, sliding back the board. It was beginning to become such a routine task, that it felt second nature to him. Still, nothing could be seen outside. Xavier was beginning to worry about the girl in the treehouse. He hoped she would see his sign. But then his thoughts turned to curiosity mixed with fear. What if she was infected? Or what if she was working for whoever started all of this?
Abandoning these thoughts, as they were most likely not the correct ones, Xavier joined Coraline and Icarius back in the center of the room. For the first time since the outbreak, he began to feel bored. He didn't expect this at all in the hands of company. But he wouldn't blame it on them. In fact, "I think I want something to kill..."
Xavier just realized that he had thought out loud. "Oops. Just thinking." He said to Coraline and Icarius, settling once again into the armchair.

Bruno could appreciate Mara's situation. When he had first started discovering his abilities, he was in a very lonely and confusing place. When Adelaide spoke, he listened to her. "That would be for another time, when we are not in so much danger." The accent was most definitely French, but it was faded as if he had been away from his homeland for a very long time. He sent out the tendrils of his mind to find out who else was around.
