The room was alive with holiday spirit as the boxer watched as hunters flocked to one another with hugs and cheery smiles and Candace went on a cheek kissing spree like the girl saw nothing but mistletoe over their heads. Maybe it was the holiday spirit or the fact that he was on his fourth glass of peppermint vodka, but the boxer couldn't really care about why he didn't like some of his teammates. His forest green eyes were filled with bright lights and the cheery faces of those around him.
The life hunter managed to get his buzz under control and walk away from the bar and all its wondrous concoctions and mosey over to the main area and to the dance hall where he could have sworn Robert was trying to merge with Eva being the head. "Happy holidays Robertatron!" he blurted out and put the dapper and slightly effeminate life hunter in a bear hug. why was Robert so..... hugable?
Still the buzzed hunter took his sweet time in legging go and tried to bow at Eva who was defying gravity. "I hope you two are enjoying yourselves." he said warmly before taking another sip of his drink and holding it out to his squad member. "Can I get you something from the bar?"

One minute, Otto had been grabbing for a cupcake, but before he was able, the teen had been... mothered. His tie straightened, his hair slicked back. He barely knew what hit him.
With a blink, he shook his head, deciding it had been a spirit, and partook in a cupcake.

"What's a harmless kiss on the cheek?" Eva laughed, giving a dismissive shake of her head, "I'll be able to take care of myself--what are you doing?" Laughing, she lifted a hand to touch the now badly-hidden mistletoe. She made a note to fix her hair later.
Eva emitted a surprised squeak as she was held up into the air, but she quickly got to work, squinting and trying to find the missing queen within the sea (or more like...lake) of people. "No, I don't see--oh, hi!"
She waved both arms at Leon in greeting, grinning brightly at the man. "We are enjoying ourselves, thank you! Actually, we're on a mission right now!" A mission that wasn't really going well, from the looks of things. At Leon's offer, Eva smiled and gave a little shake of her head. "Maybe later! You owe me a dance too, okay?" It didn't matter than Eva hardly knew Leon--she wanted to dance with as many people as she could tonight in the spirit of Christmas! But first, she needed to help Robert! Where could Petra be?

"Candy!!" Jerry beamed in surprise as she was suddenly draped around him, "I'm... making a menorah!" He gestured to the nine unlit candles happily, "I'm about to... guys- GUYS! GUUUYS!" He twisted to shout out to the gaggle of party-goers, "GUYS COME HERE!! ITS IMPORTANT!" He stood, waving his arms to try to get everyone's attention. EVERYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN THE DRUNK MAN WITH THE CANDLES Story of Hanukkah forthcoming!

Harrison chuckled at the kiss, and thanked Molly for cleaning him up. Punch and chocolate finished, he grabbed a little angel food cake for the road.
"Hey, that's Jerry! I'm gonna go see what Jerry's doing with...with uh..."
Harrison tensed up, nervous. That was a lot of candles. That meant fire. That meant...heat.
He hid behind Jude, muttering, "...maybe I won't. He's not going to light ALL those, is he? Is he allowed to do that? What if I melt?"

"There's no right way to drink liquor," said Gale dryly, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. The champagne felt lightly fizzy as it went down his throat, settling in his stomach and making him feel pleasantly tingly. "Besides, it's just champagne. This is what my family used to have at every holiday gathering. In England, you can drink at any age, as long as you have someone above the age of eighteen with you."
This was true, though Gale and his sister had not usually drunk much at these Christmas and New Year's parties his parents hosted, and normally he took his time.
This time he had clearly decided to just down the glass.
"Seeing as how I'm sixteen, that makes it relatively legal," he added, reaching for another glass.

"Jerry~!" Candace giggled, snuggling up against him and looking down at the candles. Ohhh a menorah? Neat! What was he about to do? She didn't know a damn thing about Hanukkah except the basics and stereotypes. He suddenly twisted and shouted and she squeaked, falling off the man and stumbling back away from him. Eh? Important!? Well if it was important..!
"Important?" She perked up to stand beside Jerry, smiling from ear to ear. Important! It must have been Christmas stuff! Nothing was more important than Christmas, right? "I wanna hear, baby!" Ohoh! Would this be like storytime with Santa? Could Candace sit on his lap?! Please oh please!

Molly seemed pleased as punch that Otto looking rather well groomed now, and was content to keep nursing her drink, looking around at the other gala-goers, until someone called out. The young woman perked up, looking over at Jerry curiously. Important, huh? She wasn’t one to ignore something like that then! She looked over at Jude and Harrison. “ I’m going over there you two, alright?” Molly waggled her fingers at them in parting as she moved over towards the spirited man with the candles. “ Hello there!” She called out to Jerry once she was close enough. “ Happy holidays! What’s going on?” The Mist trainee inquired curiously, looking to be helpful if she could.

Eve the christmas angel seemed to be in high spirits as far as leon could tell as he waved back at her from the ground. He didn't know that the death squad perfected the art of flying. did Dr h or Cael make hoverpacks and not tell him about it/ let him test it out?
Either way it didn't matter when Eve talked about her mission, even at the christmas gala there were missions? The boxer tiled his head and decided against asking about it. "A mission eh? I hope it goes well then!" he said back cheerily and nodded at her question. "A dance? why sure, My hooves are ready for action!" the jingling that came from the bells around his ankles helped to further prove his point. sure his vodka was splashing out from his glass, but that was minor and the bar was fully stocked.
And speaking of something that was stocked with liquor, the boxer spun around drunkenly and faced the the hot mess that was Jerry with his candles. "What are ya trying to do there choir boy?" far be it for him to say it, but if the sun hunter tried to light those things, Leon was sure Jerry was going to go up in flames too. But he continued to watch all the same, his eyes shining in wonder at what the guy was trying to tell them.

One minute he was walking with Molly and Harrison to the punch bowl and then was standing there enjoying his drink and suddenly there was a drive-by hugs and a kiss on the cheek from Candace. His immediate reaction? To smile nervously and blush the brightest red ever, a red that was brighter than Santa's coat. What should he do? What should he do? Should he return it? Wait she was gone already. Umum. He stared after Candace haplessly, "Th..Thanks?" he called out and then that was it.
SUDDEN.
Jude watched as Molly mothered Harrison and then mothered on Otto. He blinked a bit feeling a bit confused (and homesick suddenly).
Suddenly there was Jerry and candles. Jerry ... seemed kind of ...happier than usual. He then glanced back at Harrison and blinked a bit, "You won't melt. You're a special snowman." Still Jude didn't move away and dutifully guarded the snowman for the time being. He took a chocolate and nommed it thoughtfully.
He blinked at Molly waving a bit at a loss at what else to do, "We might join you over there in a minute." Since it did seem pretty interesting what Jerry was doing just hopefully Jerry won't light himself (and those around him) on fire.

And then several things happened.
Candace kissed him on the cheek. Wat.
Leon hugged him from behind. Wat.
Jerry was yelling something about storytime. Wat - Wait. Robert LOVED stories.
He set Eva back down, and put both of his hands around his mouth.
"JERRY, DON'T YOU DARE ******** TELL STORIES UNTIL I FIND PETRA AND COME OVER THERE." He was not about to miss a story about - what was it Jerry had said? Honey Cars? ******** YEAH HONEY CARS.

"Santa baby~ slip a sable under the tree, for me~" Petra murmured under her breath, her voice low and more in the tone one might have sung 'Lil Red Riding Hood' by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, perhaps just a slightly predatory tone to her voice, "Been an awful good girl~"
Slipping through the crowd as effortlessly as a knife through butter, midnight blue eyes swiveled slowly through the people, searching for Bixy Claus, the soft click of her heals as she stalked lost in the laughs and the merriment of the party. While Robert and Eva searched for her, she had her own mission -- she was going to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Even if it killed him. So far, he had avoided her rather well -- a HO HO HO there, a flash of red and white here had given her a trail -- but he had evaded her thus far, somehow slipping out of sight each time she felt close. Still, she was vigilant, unwavering dedicated to the goal as if it were as serious as any of the other hunter missions, constantly on alert.
Petra had turned as Eva had been lifted into the air, noticing the sudden motion out of the corner of her eye. At first, she didn't comprehend what was happening, intrigued by the display, a little smile curling the corners of her lips. That was, until she realized it was Robert holding Eva up. In retrospect, she should have realized that right off the bat, considering Robert and his fascination with picking people (see: pretty girls) up, however later she would blame it, and the entire night's events, on the JOY potion number five. Narrowing her eyes a little, the moon-trainee pursed her lips, taking another little sip of the red alcoholic beverage in her hand, watching them dance for a moment. Well it certainly had not taken him long to find a new dance partner.
That possessive little heat in her belly that she normally bottled up simmered a little, devious thoughts running through her head as she watched.

It had taken a lot of convincing and common sense on Aklin's part to get his Hunter to wear a dress for the gala. Tori had wanted to wear the outfit that Julie had given her or at least that is what the JOY part of her wanted, but she did relent to what her weapons choice since she currently was high on Joy number 5 that she lacked most of common sense and Aklin come to the conclusion that she had lost it especially to what happened when they went shopping. Just as she had finished dressing, her phone vibrated that she had a text. Tori grabbed it and took a look and quickly sent one in reply. Huni Pi Heya, Before. I'm heading there right now, so see you soon and then we can be off to the gala. Tori was excited to be going to this gala and also hoped that there might be presents there too, but that was the JOY talking. She was feeling a lot of different emotions with the amount JOY buzzing in her system that when looking back at all of this if something wrong happened she would just blame the JOY number 5. Quickly she had walked to were Before was waiting for her. Aklin sighed as he didn't know how much more of all of this he could handle and all her talk about Christmas that he hadn't hardly asked questions of her since all questions ended back to that topic. "Hi, Before," Tori said excitedly as she came up to him as she also gave him a big hug. Letting him go she smiled at what he was wearing as he did look good to her JOY addled brain. "Looking good!" she commented.

Robert settled Eva down on her feet and started to drag her off towards Jerry, but his eyes were still searching the group. It was easier, now, to see people as they gathered around the man, and as the crowd parted his eyes fell on his fiancee and lit up brightly. He turned, picked up Eva's hand and gave the back of it a kiss before letting it go. "All right princess, I found her. You go be good, and if anyone gets fresh, just call my name." He left Eva there, and a few long strides took him right in front of Petra, where he gathered her up in his arms.
"AND JUST WHERE did you think you were running off to, sunshine?" He bellowed out in a laugh. "Do you know what I just went through trying to find you?" He plucked her up and carried her off, because apparently this is what Robert does now, goddamn it. If the world was filled with broken legged people, Robert would become a valuable commodity.
"Come on, Jerry's gonna tell a story about honey badgers." He'd already forgotten what the story was actually about, but it didn't matter. He looked far too happy to care.

"You looked so broken up," she replied, lips still pursed a little.
And then he had scooped her up again, resting like some prized possession on his arm, and suddenly everything she had been thinking melted away like the frost in the morning sunlight. Leaning low over him, she rested her cheek on his shoulder, arms folded under her head to drape languidly practically across his broad shoulders. "Honey badgers just make me think of honey roasted turkey," she replied, Suddenly she was a little hungry. And possibly a little tipsy too. She had nearly finished her drink, just the remnants of the red liquid swirling a little at the bottom of the martini glass, her lips and cheeks slightly more pink.
