(Slaps face, I think you are having fun with this one.
It didn't cause a problem, in fact, I continued on as normal. You are the one whom asked why you couldn't counter-attack, which I thought was pretty obvious. When you use a item it changes the order, because now you are defending ...which gives the opening for your opponent to attack that turn, because you skip your attack phase.)
The Rattata would jump away from the attack. His tail whipping the air, he had managed to avoid that attack so far as the beak would miss his head by inches, and chip a bit of the ice. Though with that beak down, he saw his change again as he jumped for the pokemon's head ...hoping to get a hold of it with his teeth as he used bite again.

((I'm not having fun with this, nor am I trying to cause a problem. I just honestly believe what you're saying is flawed logic. Yes using a Potion does use up my attack turn, but I tend to leave those posts without a roll to preserve the turn order to avoid any confusion down the line. In this case it being You, then Me.))
((So by the roll less post was, for lack of a better term, my "attack" post, then the one that followed where I did roll was my proper defense post. Just because I didn't roll for that post which wasn't intended as a defense shouldn't mean I am unable to counter attack. ))
((I'm not out to argue about this one, it's why I moved along. I was honestly confused at first, and now we're simply experiencing another difference of opinion.))Acting half out of reflect, Crowe would abruptly jerk his head back as the Rattata went in for the attack, giving one sharp flap of his wings. The ice broke by the Skarmory's beak would flick into the breeze, the air already chilled by the bird's earlier attack. It wasn't quite the traditional version, but it was there all the same; Crowe was counter-attacking with Icy Wind!

(You are serious?
Look, this is not about the dice roll ...later or at the same time. I got you were trying to keep the order, but, we had this trouble last time. You can't counter-attack on the same turn the trainer uses a item, and rolling later doesn't change the turn, it's the same turn until the roll. OTherwise, Grey, a wild pokemon should be able to stop a trainer from healing their pokemon, and be able to counter-attack while trainers are throwing pokeballs as well. This is a system that works twofold, and if one doesn't make sense then neither does the other.)
(16 - 7 + 6 - 7 = 8dmg)
The Rattata would be caught this time ...as the ice would seem to start at that beak and grow stronger. The cold was enough with his teeth gripping cold metal that grew colder in his mouth that he couldn't escape this time. Ice on the outside maybe, but not ice on the inside of him ....as he was throw off hitting the ground. The Rattata wasn't frozen, but the cold was enough that he had been stiffen like a board. He lay there on the ground breathing hard with his eyes closed ....for the cold air had put the pokemon into a semi-state of hibernation.

((Yes I am serious, and I also seriously believe that once again we're suffering from a case of a different perspective here.))
((Let me try and explain it the best I can the way I'm seeing it.))
Rattata Attacks - Skarmory Defends
Rattata Defends - Skarmory uses Item
Rattata Attacks - Skarmory Defense Turn
((From my point of view the turn where the item was used is entirely separate from the turn where the item was used. After it. Passed it. Standing apart. I cannot honestly physically see how that would prevent him from countering on the defense turn which follows. ))As with before the child would recall Crowe to his ball, striding forward with his unsheathed sword, and sever the head of the defenceless Rattata. Not the most honourable tactics perhaps, but sometimes one had to do these things.
Sheathing the blade a moment later after wiping it clean with the end of his cloak, he would proceed onward.[2/10]

(Turn orders Rattata- defends
Trainer uses item - null attack turn/switching order -Skarmory defends while item is in use. Rattata attacks now
Skarmory attack - Rattata defends Battle continues as normal)
It would seem that Raven had a slight problem as he would walk forward and into a live wire that happen to on the floor. The sparks going up his boot and into his leg in one arch of pain ....as once more he would lose more hp with that attack.
He really needed to be more careful of wires.

What the boy was really considering at that moment however was rubber bottomed boots; except he realized those would melt under extreme heat. Not exactly a positive thing for someone making use of a Fire-Type in more ways then one... [2/10]

He would come across one ...as she sniffle the ground looking for food. Her tail wagging in the air as she didn't seem to even notice Raven while any other Rattata might have taken off from the scent of blood radiating from him ..this one was quite determine.
She was going to find food for her young ....as she stop suddenly as she would turn and head straight for the boy's foot. She still hadn't look up to notice that it was a human until she spy the boots on his feet, and with a squeak she would sit down looking upwards at him.
"Rat?" (What?)
It would be her expression that said it all.

Raven's eyes would narrow upon the mere sight of the Rattata, his black hair rustling in what little breeze there was to be had in the midst of the tunnel. Without a second thought his hand would fall to his belt, not upon the third ball which lay there as before, but this time the fourth.
Lobbing the sphere without calling a name, the child would release the petite form of a certain black fox upon the opposite side of the rodent, attempting to block off her escape route should she attempt to flee.
">Well 'ello there little lady!<" The Zoura would greet, both his voice and the smirk upon his face laced with a certain natural charm ">Are ya ready ta have ya world rocked!?<" The Dark-Type shouted as if greeting an entire crowd, slowly striding closer; an action met by a heavy glare from the Pokemon's trainer.
">Oi oi! All right already, nuff with the glarin mate!<" Requiem barked gruffly, catching the look almost immediately. Within seconds his attention would return to that of the Rattata ">Sorry lil'miss, seems this concert's gonna turn inta a mosh right quick! Managa's order I'mafraid!<"
Pokemon: Zorua [M] Name & Level: Requiem, Lv 1 [Temperament] Bold Bio: During his rather lengthy adventure within the aether, Raven encountered a sight most odd. The forms of three Ghost-Type's surrounded by mist and wielding instruments; at their center standing a lone Zoroark with a microphone. Instead of fighting, the four Pokemon joined together in melodies most haunting; and when the performance had reached its end, the musicians shifted, the air glimmering about them as their forms disappeared, revealing a group of four rather unique Zorua. Requiem had been the lead singer of this group, and despite a lack of combat with the creature had left a rather distinct impression upon the child. Thus when Regal offered them the chance to obtain any one Pokemon they had encountered upon the island, Raven chose the little black fox. He knew nothing of Requiem's combat ability, but he had witnessed the signs of a leader, and the potential for so much more! Upon his first release into the world outside the aether, the Zorua declared this and all too follow his first 'Solo Tour', and that he was going to rock this world!
It was on the shores of Iron Island Requiem met death against the Magmar of a Strike Student named Trix, a member of the self named "Team Legacy". Though the Zorua had proven his strength, plowing into his opponent with devastating power, gusto on it's own didn't prove enough to save him from the Magmar's Focus Blast. Saved by the ability of the team's Guard Student, Requiem was reborn as an egg; and once hatched managed to retain a patchwork of his old memories. The memory of his own demise especially is something he feels will forever mark his soul. Her ears would flop up and down for a moment as she tries to gather the sense to understand his words, but once she did ....her anger was clear. She wasn't some fan girl to be tugged and pull to his whims, and she was about to make that clear as she would stomp her feet against the ground and lash her tail hard and strong.
Then she would flatten her ears ...pinning them tight before she screech. A sound that would echo and bounce around the area over and over again growing in strength ...her melody was a scream and a wail. It would be interesting to see what his song would do with it..

Raven would immediately clamp his hands over his ears as the sound bounced off the metal walls and back in his general direction, gritting his teeth against the pain such a sound caused. Requiem by contrast barely moved an inch in response to the sound. Instead the Zorua came out grinning, his left ear flicking slightly under the weight of his earring. ">Oi! That was great lil'miss! Haven't heard a wail like tha since a Steelix took up screech-metal back on Mirage!<" The fox exclaimed, his tail swishing behind him. Rather the pain or fear, the Rattata seemed to have actually made the Zorua's day!
">Gimme a sec n' I'll show ya some real music though!<" Requirm declared, his teeth bared in a vulpine smile. Sitting where he pleased, the Zorua would tilt his head and begin to howl. It wasn't quite singing, rather this time it only seemed to be a series of howls performed and held at different pitches. A simple pre-performance exercise to warm up his throat; but behind it was the same hidden note, an ultra-sonic sound too high for most creatures to hear but set to make most Pokemon's ears bleed. Round in all it's glory; though not as powerful in absence of a chorus.

The attack would threaten her as the full force of the sounds grew and though she had her ears pin somehow the sound would still get through and blood would start to run from her ears .....and from her nose. She felt that her brains were completely melting as she would sit back on her haunches completely dazzled as she would look at him and in her own desperation she would come forward all at once with her own counter-attack tackle.
Nearly deaf and in pain, she saw no other choice.
