Fair enough, I suppose... but what if the machine did the research into biomechanics? At least enough to, perhaps, support a type of cyborg. The living capacity of a human but the mentality of a machine?

Rivkah has been isolated most of her life, growing up in an orphanage, tricked and beaten, she learned to love the dead, playing with dead mice she managed to find in the home. Kicked out at age 14 and forced to roam the streets, where the abuse continued, this time, for stumbling into the homes of other homeless people, completely by mistake. Drifting between continents for a long time, Rivkah finally managed to stow away on a ship and travel to Mau islands, where she lived in solitude, left to her own devices for a very long time. Now 22; her powers have started to show, manifesting in extreme headaches. In her dreams she sees half images, warped images, monsters and people, dead things and life. These images tormenting her so much that she has left her hidey-hole to search out someone who can help her get it under control, to teach her how to use this sight instead of being used by it.

Lizzy was abandoned in the Mau islands when she was rather young. she wasn't on the main land so she had no one to talk to for years. She mainly survived off of fruit and meat from killing animals. But most of the time she was in the water teaching herself how to surf on the ocean waves. Eventually Lizzy grew an affinity for the water element and learned how to control the ocean waves, thus allowing herself to travel to the main island and finally meet people for the first time. Although she needs training in combat she is an expert surfer and survivalist. She knows every island and where the best surf spots are on each one.
