Or it could backfire and the movie could end up dead/terrible eek Just generally speaking the whole movie industry in America hasn't exactly been getting better with time, it's actually getting progressively worse. Especially since if it waits too long, Paul Anderson may be free and pick it back up gonk

eek ... oh god... your right! Then we must put an end to Paul W.S. Anderson before it's to late!

Letter bombs... That's the answer. Cleverly disguise little bombs of justice as fan mail and send them to him. Even if it doesn't kill him it may mame him to the point of being unable to write/direct (or perhaps scare him out of it).

If only we could stop him with acts of terrorism. xD

For the most part, even though I'm sure this will be terrible (since we can thank Paul WS Anderson for writing Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Extinction- which were both god awful) I'm still going to see it as a hard-core Castlevania fan. We all know that it's going to bastardize everything we know and love about the Castlevania series, but at least it won't be considered Canon.

Who knows? Maybe Konami will take the Capcom route that was taken with the Resident Evil movies and make one of their own.

We can only hope. There's at least that animated, strait to DVD CV movie to look forward to. And I too will watch it out of masochistic fandom. It's just like forcing yourself to eat play dough when you're completely full.

Not the best analogy, IMO, but I agree. That's the whole reason they make this Video Game movies in the first place: they have a built in audience (like us, for instance) and have a guaranteed profit- even if every sane movie critic alive gives the movie horrible reviews. And, what's worse, is the fan-tards that are going to watch the movie and decide it's either A)The best thing since Jesus, bread, and indoor plumbing COMBINED and argue this opinion as if it were a fact or B)Decide that the movies are canon to the games and argue that in the dumbest way possible.

I actually had someone argue with me saying that Resident Evil: Extinction was canon to the series. >.>

What you say is true, that's the only reason why we get bad movies is we keep going to them, it's been explained in the cartoon the Critic by Jay Sherman "If the movie stinks just don't go" rofl Sure we won't know if the movie is terrible but that's why we got critics, we may not agree with them all the time, but somewhere out there there is a critic each of us can agree with 3nodding Videogame movies for the most part HAVE been been terrible, and I just have no idea why there is no quality control or let a REAL gamer direct the movie not some random 50 year old man who holds up a PS2 controller in front of an unplugged Xbox and claims he's a hardcore gamer for publicity photos/videos rofl

Oh my. If you have such a picture, I would love to see it. xD

Personally, I felt that Christophe Ganz did a great job with Silent Hill- it wasn't perfect, but what is (Besides Columbo)? He actually did his research on the games, and even though in the end he changed things it wasn't as distasteful as what Paul WS Anderson did to Resident Evil or Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. I'm a bit ashamed of myself for even PLANNING on seeing any video game movies, but there's a small glimmer of hope within me that screams at the top of its atrophied lungs "DON'T GIVE UP! MAYBE THIS ONE WON'T BE CRAP!"

So far, that light has only been right once or twice.

We all got that glimmer, same with live action anime movies, seen screenshots for Dragon Ball the Movie and Speed Racer the movie? rofl Speed Racer is looking pretty good, has some artistic liberties so far but I am keeping an open mind, Dragonball I wanna see buried next to my dog's turds though gonk as for that pic, I am exaggerating but I did see a pic of a bunch of japanese girls playing an xbox which is unplugged and they're having fun, I found it around 4chan as a demotivator pic and it says: "Maybe they'll have more fun if it was actually plugged in" rofl

OMG, they're making a Dragon Ball movie...? WHY?!? Why can't it die?! *Goes insane at hearing this news*

*sighs* I hope they're happy with themselves. Sure they're going to make a crap ton of money from DBZ-tards all over the world (but namely those freakishly odd teens that thrived off of a 5 minute long fight spanning over 5 episodes and cartoon violence). I just don't get it. Why on earth was that show popular? Dragon Ball MAYBE- just because it wasn't all about stupid fight scenes.

The only slight silver lining to all of this is there is at LEAST some Asian involvement with some actors, and Stephen Chow is producing it (famous for making Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle) Yet the casing for Goku really messes things up -_-

I don't really understand why they'd make that into a live action movie, truth be told. It has about as much creative value as someone taping a spoon to a fork and saying they created something new. In the end, I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to care- but it seems that everyone in this guild will see the Castlevania movie- no matter how horrible it will be. xD

Well what I believe ALWAYS ruins a videogame movie, is some stories JUST cant really be translated onto film, or if it can the story would be too long or short to portray in about 2 hours. Plus most of the time its started when some hollywood guy brainfarts the idea "say let's make a movie about that videogame where a fat italian man and his brother who eat mushrooms to be bigger jump on turtles and go down pipes" Then some other guy goes "but wait, instead let's cast John Leguizamo as a hip younger Luigi that can appeal to kids, Forget the turtles and make goombas into giant small headed laser rifle carrying goons, and make King Koopa some random blonde man with a bad haircut". I could go into more detail but you see where I'm going with this. Same applies to the Castlevania movie, I bet somewhere they're gonna make "something or someone" that appeals to kids (to get some sort of toy deal) mess around with characters (to have less of a backstory, cause it'd take me at least 15 minutes in words to explain castlevania in detail (the whole story), but in a movie that'd be at least triple the time (due to acting it out) thus they sometimes forget to explain things or make a new explanation somewhat loosely based on the real backstory. Thus that is why I think most if not all these videogame movies, have sucked, mostly hollywoods fault but sometimes they can't help a few details. Solution: DONT make them and let japan do videogame movies, they fail less at it and even when they fail at least its good cause its funny (kind of like Snakes on a Plane)
