Time to pick things up again. It was surprising (at least to Aislin) how many more people had gotten out onto the dance floor because of a slow song. Good. They were out there on the floor now to hit them with something fast and up-beat to encourage them to STAY there! Aislin dimmed the slow song until it was just a quiet murmur. The lights brightened and she turned on her mic.

"Looks like we have another DEAD-ication. It looks like Levi has some mystery admirer who thinks she'd enjoy this song!

"Yee-haw! It's Cotton Eye Joe by the Rednex!"

The music began, volume slowly rising up until it was loud but not so bad as before, perhaps. It seemed Aislin was really feeling the beat of this song, flicking a few switches to light up a few colored spotlights that moved back and forth across the dance floor.

"I think making something yourself is much nicer than buying things, though." Shehk said honestly. There was something more personal about it and Shehk would prefer the effort over the lack of it, anyways. The pricolici pulled her hand away from the hunchback, tail wagging a mile a minute as she admired his handiwork once again.

"It's really very nice, Christof. Thank you." Shehk smiled and sighed a bit. It was such a nice distraction. "I mean.. you didn't even have to bring me to prom, or listen to any of my moping...or this..." she fingers trailed over the corsage again, finally lowering her arm.

She might have been a little bit tear-y.

No sooner had Gabrian mentioned the fact a boil had been eyeing LW that... said boy walked on over to them. He watched idly as Sparrow not only bowed but complimented the she-wolf, going as far as calling her darling, "My, my, Puppy... you have an admirer already? And I knew nothing about this?" He uncurled the hand the werewolf have previously been clinging to and used it to pat the ghoul's hand lightly, "You should introduce us, dear. And then... given how polite the gentleman is, I might consider lending you over to him so you can dazzle him with your dancing. Though I'm going to have to request you at least save the last one for me," slowly, he raised her hand and planted a soft kiss on it, "I might no longer be your boil friend, but I think best friends get dibs too, yes?"

As Gabrian lowered the she-wolf's hand back down, Ren made his way back towards them and the demon couldn't help but smirk, "That's not quite how I remember it. Besides... I'm quite sure you can't blush just for show, Ren. Then again, if you're up for it, we could always test out your theory. After all, neither of us have any attachments whatsoever right now," this was drawled out as the gryphon leaned forward to whisper the few, last points of his argument, which only made the nix chuckle in response, "I would have expected beak grinding over the other thing... but then again, at the time you had no beak. Maybe we should test that out too."

Ren's next few words caused the demon to look towards his side, "Hmmm?" a pause followed, and then a mild shrug, "I believe Puppy has an admirer," again he paused, though this time he took the time to look Ren in the eye as the gryphon laid his head against his arm, "She's quite popular... not that I'm surprised. Though I think it's safe to asume that unless third parties get their act together soon... she's going to be swept off her feet by another prince charming. One that might not be as sharp or willing to give her up as I was," his words were murmured so only the gryphon could hear him, absolutely devoid of sting or any sort of negative emotion. In fact, if anything, he sounded almost encouraging, if a bit mysterious, "I believe the gentleman was just about to introduce himself. I'm Gabrian, and this is Ren, by the way."

His mouth twisted into a shy smile now, glancing away bashfully as he rubbed at his hair under his hat, "Thuntem prieteni, da?"

He cleared his throat, "Um... did... you want to dance?" Then the music shifted, and his face paled, mouth twitching into a frown. Please suggest they do something else, please please...

His range of dance knowledge was complimented, and met with a proud grin."Thank you." Mot was a boil of many talents! Kind of. He had been to a lot of adult dance parties as a small boil.

Mot stopped dancing, nodding to Lizzy. Perhaps they shoul try again for later...

But then. The song. For that ghoul.

A devilish grin returned to Mot's face, and he turned to Levi. "Well well, a fan~ Levi, you wouldn't refuse someone's request would you?" Mot asked teasingly. Oh, he liked ruffling her fur. So. Much. "Square Dancing anyone?"

Shehk was...well, mostly smiles now, scratching the stitching in her face a bit. "Da, suntem." she confirmed, before taking a deep breath. Now she was just getting all emotional on him again. That wouldn't do.

There was a pause as the music change and Shehk laughed, clasping one hand over her mouth. "I think we should dance when the music changes to a ...slightly better song." she suggested. It wasn't a..horrible song, but it wasn't her thing by any means. Shehk wrapped her arm around one of Christof's, tugging on it lightly.

"We should take a walk and see if we can spy anybody else..or take a look at the refreshments." There was a pause as she seemed to think about something, "Assuming you actually would want to try anything. For the most part I think I'm going to keep my insides safe by keeping to the punch..."

"Yes, it smells wonderful." Mitsu agreed finally settling on a meatball to try first.

Mitsu's head turned up as the music changed, her ears twitching at the top of her head. It was an interesting tune to say the least. It wasn't something she normally listened to but she didn't mind it in the least. The song itself was rather upbeat.

Turning her attention back to her plate Mitsu began to pick at the larger food item trying to decide how to go about eating it. Taking up the fork Shun had grabbed for her the lupine speared the meatball and brought it up to her mouth to give it a nibble. Ooo, it was very tasty.

"Er... um... yeth, that um. Thoundth like a good idea..." He murmured over the blaring square dance. It was definitely not his thing. He had trouble walking without lurching or limping, let alone a fast paced cheerful sort of jig. "Ath for er... refrethmentth, I'm not um... I mean... I don't uthually... it often maketh me feel thick, at leatht thothe cupcaketh Mithter- Calder!" His eyes lit up as he spotted the kelpie hand in hand with one of the newer students. He had only met him briefly when he had stopped by the Fitness booth during Open House, but something about him had sent his Mistress on edge. Who was he, anyway? And why was Calder clinging to him?

Oh, there it was again, that delightful blush. Sparrow smiled at LW, taking the ghoul's hand in his and pecking a quick kiss to the back of it before he let it go, moving to link his fingers behind his back. "Thank you," he replied, and looked down at his coat as she tugged at it. "I had to match my date, of course, and blue was her color. I do believe I like it very much, however."

He didn't recognize any of the others the shewolf was standing with. There was an auburn haired ghoul with tumbling curls down her back, a tall (really tall; Sparrow had to look up to meet his eyes), emerald haired boil who looked like he might be a snake or a dragon of some sort, and a gryphon leaning against him with a face full of freckles.

Sparrow extended his hand first to the ghoul he assumed was Alessa, then to the tall boil - Gabrian, a smile on his face as he said "A pleasure to meet you, Gabrian. My name is Sparrow Heartreed. I'm an acquaintance of LW here, whom I met in class the other day, though I do believe she might be quite tired of me pestering her by now."

He cast a wink at the shewolf, then gave his hand to Ren. "And you too; pleased to meet you, Ren."

The song had switched from a slow one to a fast one now, and Sparrow's eyes went to Aislin at the ScreeJay station. He gave her a wave and a wink, smiling at her before turning back to the others.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Shaddup," Ren said (very maturely) in answer to Gabrian's comment, a real flush streaking across his face now as he scowled. "And who says we don't have any attachments, eh?" He pressed a hand to his chest, feigning outrage. "Why Sir Snake, aren't you my attachment?

One day they were going to just get smacked by the ghouls.

"Besides," Ren went on, lowering his voice as he rested his hands on Gabrian's shoulder, his chin lazily on top of them. "I only beak grind when I'm in gryphon form, and even then it's when I'm asleep, ya big dork."

That was not entirely true, since he also did it when he was pleased about something, but it was a habit he couldn't help, like flicking his tail or flapping his wings. One of those things he didn't really think about doing as he was doing it.

His gaze flickered towards the newcomer. "An admirer?" he repeated, cocking his head curiously. "I don't know that guy..."

Ren trailed off, slightly confused. "What are you going on about now?" he said, rolling his eyes. "You're speaking in riddles again, ya big weirdo."

Sometimes the nix was just an odd person; even odder than how they acted when they were together, which was probably coming off differently to every person they talked to.

The new boil had introduced himself now - Sparrow - and Ren accepted the handshake with a friendly smile. "Ren," he said. "Glad to meet another friend of wolflove here."

Though Aksaja was a bit late to Prom, he rather liked to think of it as fashionably late, all things told. He was dressed more or less as he had been during other formal occasions, aside from the top hat. Instead, his hair was down and rather intricately braided, golden strands showing up here and there amongst locks of ebony. As he padded out toward the dance floor, the dragon boil tucked some of his hair behind one pointed ear and peered about for a likely dance partner.

He'd come to Prom alone, but he really had no doubt that he'd be able to have fun, and probably secure some alone-time with some boil or ghoul by the end of the night. First, though, perhaps some refreshments. Drifting over toward the tables, Aksaja still couldn't help moving in time to the beat, feet shuffling a bit as he half-danced his way over.

Then he grabbed himself a cup of punch and a small plate of snacks and settled in to watch for a bit before making his first move.

Levi did her best to keep Jericho up and dancing with her. She would not allow the boil to go down, keeping a stern but a smoothing form while they danced. His wings did provide an extra lift which helped the tatzel to swivel Jericho one way or the other. No worries, partner. Got ya covered..........
She wasn't going to mention anything else at that time. Her skill for dance was still something she could keep to herself and hopefully never need to do again tonight. She didn't say anything in regards to Lizzy's round 2...

...then the music changed. This was something... her kin danced to. It was familiar. Like a virus, something rushed through her veins at that point. No. I refuse. She had a strong urge to pounce on Mot when he grinned. If this hadn't been a formal occasion (and she wasn't wearing a COSTLY outfit produced by the hard work of Lizzy), she'd have no problem wrestling the boil down to the ground right about now. Mot was going to get it one of these days... one of these days. However, if square dancing was what the cowboil had in mind, she'd stick it to him that way as well. Her kin knew how to round 'em up and dosie doe.

Boil, ye'll need ta roll up them pants ta keep up... With the issue of his underhanded challenge, the tatzel began. Stepping into a clearer space, she took a straigh pose, and then began to clack her heels and tap. There was a bouncing in her steps and her tail wavered behind her from side to side in unison to her quick paced trotting. If this was going to be a hoedown, she'd do it right, dangit
Hop to, Mot! Show me ya ain't yella neither! She called him on his earlier fightin' words.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 25, 2011 4:09 pm

Oh Hell yes. Mot grinned like a fiend as his challenge was accepted. Him against Levi!

He released his date, and walked calmly to an open space. She was definitely skilled at this, but so was Mot! He smirked at her words, and started to dance as well.

It had begun...

The boil's shoulders rolled as he ducked his head a little in something that was probably guilt. "Well, I suppose it was half true." His chuckle sounded again beside her ear, and he rested his chin on her shoulder as they moved. It wasn't anything spectacular, but the casual swing of their hips did count as dancing. "If we're talking slower dances, then no, I've got no clue there other then swaying and trying not to step on my partner's feet." He was ok at the casual stuff, but he didn't consider it the same as real dancing. What Hadiyya and Sharra did, that was dancing, not the comfortable sway the rest of them did.

Speaking of, the tempo if the music shifted, slowing. Curling human fingers around her hand again, he turned her around in his arms. "This is nice, but it's not the same as what Yaya can do, you know? I don't know how they do it." That didn't mean he didn't try though. Sweeping her arm up in a parody of posture for waltz, guiding his ghoulfriend around in slow circles. It wasn't pretty, but it was fun. " I can swing dance though, and do the Charleston. Ash and I learned a long time ago when we were haunting around." His voice and expression were purely informational. "Not that I'll likely be doing either any time soon."

They continued to move and dance in time to the music until once again the tempo changed. The next song picking up considerably and carrying an unmistakable southern twang. He'd have guided her right into quicker steps if not for the pair that wandered up to them hand in hand. The ghost pup was looking down right dapper, and what may have looked stuffy and off on most anyone else actually looked nice on him The kitsune beside him looked absolutely lovely in her dress as well. "You two look great, having fun?" The dancing slowed, but only enough for the boil to give Junko a swift kiss on the cheek before offering his human hand out to Momo, quite obviously asking if she'd like to dance.

The jikininki was in a great mood.

She performed a set amount of quick paced steps. Looking down at her feet, she went from heel to toe and back again, foot to foot. Putting both hands on her hips, her dress gleamed from the lights Ash had lowered directly over the scene.

Tipping a toe in Mot's direction beside her, she challenged him to mimic her moves.

Good. She was glad they could decide on something at least that didn't involve dancing. The ghoul was about to ask which way but it seemed like West already knew so she followed him off. Holly wasn't sure what all to take. She hadn't had any of it before so she just took small samples of everything they had. Couldn't hurt right? Her hands full now and nodded back. It would be difficult to attempt to eat while standing. Especially with all the people. "Ya, there seems to be an empty table over there."

Holly lead the way to the table. Well the table didn't have anyone at it but did have some left over food. Whatever, it was basically a free for all wasn't it. She put her plates down and then sat down. The song changed to something upbeat. Strangely it reminded her of one of her new friends. "See anyone ya know yet?" That was small talk, right?
