Only after her little rant about the royal life's negative side did she start to consider what Lucian might have meant when he spoke of the princess being 'like her'. She blinked a couple times in surprise. "Wait...like me? Really?" she asked, the look of amusement rapidly returning. She chuckled and commented with a blatantly proud smile, "You never know what a person's actually like until you meet them yourself."

Sitting in the edge of the waiting area Kale sat there his hair wrapped over his shoulder and hanging down his chest. He didn't seem to be awake but he was and simply listening to the combatants in the area. His next match would be an interesting one. Kryell huh I have heard of him before from a few of the hero's I have killed well then lets see what he has he thought with a smile slowly forming over his face. Looking up slowly Kale looked around at each since the match had started the amount of people had fallen quite a good deal as there were only a handful that coated the room now.

After having a good rest, listening to Dema and Lucian's converation, Kyrell creeped away silently when the talks about the princess became more intense. Touching the crystal every so often, feeling it's energy, Kyrell walked back to the waiting room, already knowing who was up next. Then again, his thoughts shifted to Lucas, who may or may not have succumbed to the wizard by now. He turned his wrath upon himself, already thinking it might be too late to save him now, dawdling in such a place. Then, he thought of someone he could protect. And his thoughts turned upon Voit whom he naively brought to such a dangerous place whether or not he was strong enough to handle it.

"What a bother. In any case, I'll try and hold him back and hopefully, I can injure him enough for Voit to defeat him easily... If that man is surely to be feared as Voit says." he thought to himself for a minute.

When he saw the mysterious man in the now scarcely populated room, Kyrell walked up to him and said, "Do you have a name? It seems I didn't have the manners to ask it before. Let me make up for that. I'm Kyrell Santry. Bounty hunter."

Looking at Kyrell Kale stood up slowly extending his hand. To even the strongest of wizards his magic's couldn't be sensed. "The name is Jacob, Jacob White" Kale said with a stone faced lie shaking the man's hand as he pulled back looking away for a moment. "I guess you could say that I am an apprentice magic user" he said rubbing the back of his head with a small chuckle. "Nothing to big in the way of spells" he gave a small shrug buying into his own lie a bit.

What did this one want to check him to see if he was indeed the evil wizard of legend what a laugh. "So guess were gonna be going against each other in the next round" he said rubbing the back of his head something had felt odd about the handshake he noticed tho but gave little thought to it. "Don't beat me up to badly" he chuckled shifting his weight to another foot.

When the man reached his hand to Kyrell, he felt no significant reaction. He seems to be an ordinary guy, Kyrell thought. When the man said he was an apprentice magic user, Kyrell grew skeptical, knowing no ordinary man could go through the rounds of muscular men so easily without an injury or two. Kyrell looked about the room and noticed that the two of them were part of the very few who were still intact and in good battling condition.

Kyrell, himself, hasn't broken a sweat since the start of the competition. However, he still felt a little worried, knowing 'Jacob' was bluffing at some point. He shook those thoughts from his head and focused on staying calm no matter what this one could throw at him. One thing that helped him was the thought of having the necklace, which he fiddled with in his hand, after he found out Jacob was a magic-user.

"Well, let's have a good round. It's the quarter finals already. Wouldn't want to disappoint the crowd!" Kyrell said with a smile, somehow enlightening himself with the thought of facing Voit in the finals.

"Alright sounds like a good plan" Kale said with a small bow to Kryell as he turned and walked away. It was a laugh putting up the front he was but he kept it cool playing his role easily enough. How would he have this next match go if he won it this man's thoughts would likely put him in the class of what he truly was but if he played to be defeated he might know something was up as well. What to do what to do pondered the Magi as he walked over to where he was at before sitting down against the wall.

The names were announced. Kyrell sighed, pulling part of his sword out, seeing if it was in good condition. Then, she noticed the old woman from before watching him. Then he had some idea that she probably knew something and pondered, Is it that this woman has something against Jacob? Or is it that she knew I needed this The woman reacted with shock promptly after he thought that. He looked no more, remembering that some black mages knew how to read minds and inquired no more.

Once more, Kyrell stepped out into the arena where the bright lights and constant screaming were. It wasn't his most favorite fighting environment but he always had the ability to block out all distractions when he started to fight so he didn't really mind them anymore. At that moment, he focused himself and held his casual stance, standing still with his right hand on the hilt of the sword also on his right, obviously not to pull it out but just to keep it in place.

Once again, a calm, breezy look washed over his face and he waited for the enemy to move first as he always did.

Giving a small sigh as he stood up hearing his name called Jacob followed behind Kyrell seeming not to be enjoying the trek into the ring or simply the fight itself one couldn't be sure. His body as it looked was in good condition and his mind...well his mind was in a condition tho some wouldn't exactly call it good.

Stepping into the arena Kale walked to the other side of the ring his back to Kyrell for a few moments until he took a spot on the other side. Getting into a caster like battle stance. Taking a few breath's it seemed he was mostly ready holding his hand out infront of him while his other hand was kept close to his chest. Watching his opponents moves the wizard simply waited as a mage never one to attack first.

Voit had a lot of things weighing on his mind as he went to the edge of the waiting area to watch Kyrell's battle. He was panting slightly from the small knife wound in his side. One of his many opponents had gotten lucky with that strike, but other then that, he felled through the fights like calm water. He had his friend's support, and Lucian and Dema betting on him, so of course Voit was fine. Though Lucian and Dema's thoughts on royalty bothered him. Was he really so naive to wish for a peaceful and loving life with the princess? What if she was stronger then himself? ... Well Voit would just have to work even harder at being strong, then! He would make sure that even royalty could live happily, and would change the corruption of that world! This decision made Voit all the more determined to fight. If he couldn't even win this, there was no way he could protect the princess.

Still, his spine prickled as he watched who Kyrell was fighting. The reaper didn't know anything about the man, but something about him gave Voit a dreadful feeling in his stomach. One so strong that he put away his sword, actually pulling out his scythe. The weapon he rarely used, unless entering someone's nightmares. It was black as ebony, and looked like bones of a demon had formed it, but little black patterns constantly swirled on the weapon as if it where alive.Voit only brought out this weapon when he was nervous, and in battle, Voit had never gotten nervous. Only his travelling companions and long time close friend might see this as his caution, but more opponents shrank away at the sight of it. "Be careful.." He mumbled a soft encouragement to his friend, supporting him from the sidelines.

Forge stared right at Kale and said, "I retract my previous statement. You're not human, you're only half. I can smell it on you..." Forge was sitting in a rocking chair at the far end of the waiting area. "Just as you are no human, I am no iron golem. I am Forge, Son of a stone elemental and a fire elemental. One of the rarest pairings ever to exist..."

"I guess you're right about that." Lucian answered, winking at Dema. His eyes turned to see Voit, and he frowned when he saw Voit's injury. "Don't you dare tell him I did this." He told Dema, beginning a simple healing chant. Once he completed it, Voit's injury disappeared, and Lucian calmed down. Seeing the scythe, however, Lucian's attention moved to watch what was going on with Kyrell's battle. If Voit had the scythe, well...Lucian knew that wasn't good news. "Dema, what's the likelyhood of someone who means to actually kill someone entering in these tourneys?" He asked, knowing a lot less of these tourneys than the other two might have.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 16, 2011 1:01 pm

"Fairly high." Dema replied calmly. "It's against the rules to kill your opponent, but there's always several violent and vindictive assholes who join just to have the chance to slaughter someone - or they might want to impress someone of importance in the audience with their brutal strength." She acted as if this was nothing new to her, and to be honest, it really wasn't. Casualties in arenas like this always skyrocketed when the contestants heard that the fair princess was in the audience. "Be careful, Voit."

Following Esma, Faye took the fabric with them. When they reached the room, she entered, too scared to look at anything in the room, she just quickly laid the fabric out on the bed and made the doll. It was lifeless at the moment and would stay like that till Faye begin to pull the strings. Her only hope was that Kale would return before her limited magic ran out. Exiting as quickly as she entered, she smiled at Esma. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me," she said softly. If she could keep the secret that the princess was out and about, trying to be a hero, she could keep Esma's secret.

"Thank you. I'd rather him not find another reason why he shouldn't pay me." Esma said with a weak laugh afterwards. Her gaze darted about the area, and upon noticing that there weren't any guards just yet she commented, "We should probably leave this area soon. You know, so that they don't come across us all of the sudden then report back to Kale."

Nodding, she followed Esma, "So why are you working for such an evil man?" she asked as they walked away from the wizard's quarters. She had been wondering for awhile now but hadn't been given the chance to ask till now.
