Sadly no. And given that this is the week of a pending PPV you know how they do. A bunch of matches to recap who is fighting who but really doesn't go into why.

It was a mess of people and nonsense but you can see where they are trying to build on character development. They are trying to make Utunga the backstage lawyer of the heels. Not to mention you can see that they are trying to make use of the lesser talent more. But to me before they can do it they need to stop with the NXT and Tough Enough. They want to do an reality show just record the development shows and put it on for an hour or half hour, it's just as entertaining.

That'd be a great idea for a reality show. Throw together dev clips and backstage events. This way we wouldn't have to wonder who's still on the roster, and what they're actually up to while in exile.

I guess they had to figure something out for Otunga. They sort of went against their initial stipulations by signing all the NXT 1 guys out of the blue like that. Most of them are horrible. The ones that aren't, still don't get a lot of face time if any.

On core points: Khali got the giant-killer exit, not Sin Cara is Dark Sin Cara now, JTG actually got to wrestle in a decent match, and I'm not sure why I should care about Hell in a Cell. I'd like to think I only have half the story because I missed Raw, but with the constant recapping on Smackdown, I probably missed nothing.

You missed nothing.

I had no complaints about SD tonight. Just my usual gripe about the divas' match. Kelly's set up was as slow as Melina use to be with her sunset flip. That could have easily been countered with an electric chair drop. Another one of her slow roll ups shows you just how she's still struggling, and how even with the more experienced wrestlers they don't trust her not to botch and break her neck.

I'd love to see Utunga or however his name is spelled in a manager/wrestler position. He'd be great and manipulative for whoever he manages. Twisting rules and contracts around to suit his needs. That would be great.

I am saddened that I saw more of Teddy on Raw than on Smackdown.

Hell in the Cell has made up for so much.
I'm excited about a lot of things. A pretty new Inter cont belt. Ooh it's beautiful.

And oh I just can't wait until tomorrow.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 02, 2011 10:50 pm

I must admit, they've managed to stick new characters into the main arc without turning it into a complete ********. Awesome Truth, Punk, HHH, Del Rio.

I'm curious to see this new Intercontinental belt. If only the diva's title and WWE title could get their much needed face lifts. Beth should have the influence to demand a less retarded looking belt.

Raw is starting off pretty good today which is sort of rare following a PPV like HiaC.

A nice strong start with Orton vs Trent who we haven't seen on Raw in a while leading into MH vs Morrison. A nice way to include some of the lesser seen stars while still advancing their rivalry a little. I really do hope that this really is the end or at least a decent pause of the feud between RO and MH.

I don't get what the hell HHH is suppose to be doing. He gives off the tough guy 'shut up and just deal with it' speech to everyone without really addressing the issues but this is a bit hard to swallow given how being the son in law to Vince did give him a bit of an upperhand in the business. That's not to say that he didn't work hard here and there and make his way to the top. But banging the boss's daughter did work out for him.

Wow the diva stuff...still no pop from the people. Kelly going into tantrum mode was just sad. It was kinda funny when Kelly lost hold of Beth and Beth was still slamming herself against the table. All she had to do was slam her head into the table over and over and over again while screaming (the only mic skills she has) and still managed to botch that.

Instead of Eve pulling Nattie off of Kelly she should have been one of the firsts to try and calm her down. But such a quick DQ like that, they could have done better.

If they wanted to do that development with Kelly then put her up against someone else we haven't seen in awhile to show her frustration such as Tamina or any of the others we've seen so little of lately.

And holy s**t Santino is back but he looks so out of shape, still happy to have the 'Fez' of WWE back. Hopefully they'll have him build back up before they 'Future Endeavor' him. Or pair him up with someone for a good tag team, I'm not sure with who though.

Brutus Clay getting a push now? Finally! I hope that his push doesn't rise and fall as easily as Justin Gabrial. Really they need to stop pushing the people that they already have at the top, they can sale themselves.

They should have waited a bit more with Miz and Truth popping up again. But I have to say that assault was a wonderfully brutal finish to a PPV except for how sad it looked with H hitting handcuffed guys.

The six man match was for once an impressive one. Not the horrible cluster ******** of swinging fists.

The meeting at the end was different. A nice advancement to the plot, they should show HHH having more of a hard time controlling things vs him just going around acting as he does. Until they actually point it out to you it doesn't really seem that way. But hearing the divas especially Beth go 'We're girls-' was sort of low given how strong her character is she was in the King of the Ring. But the huge silent walk off by everyone (mostly heels while all of the major faces were missing) while he stands there and the crowd cheering for him. That was a pleasant finisher.

Overall I have to say this was one of the best 'Raw Supershows' they've aired since they've started running these things and following a rough PPV 24 hours earlier they get some points. As always the diva action brought it down so I'd give it a B.

Yeah, that 12 man tag match took about half an hour. They had ample time to make it a good match and took advantage of it for once. There wasn't even an excessive amount of corner abuse, though it figures Air Boom becomes the targets for that. Sometimes I feel like the best more than 2 on 2 tag match should flow like a match in Marvel Vs Capcom 2.

Triple H must have been crying inside. Every single employee walked out on him. It didn't really matter, it was the end of the show anyway.

"We're girls?," Come on, Beth. You're tougher than some of the men, and you've been crusading against the "delicate flowers" of the divas roster for 3 months now. It's too bad nobody brought up the fact that on Vince's watch, Kharma was breaking divas for shits and giggles for like 2 months when HHH asked if anything happened to one of the divas.

Referees have been assaulted since the beginning of Professional Wrestling, Mike Gyota. Stop being such a wuss, you knew what you were getting into.

Anyway, we already know Laurinitis is playing both sides against the middle so he can get HHH's job. If it was Steph or Shane, they wouldn't have to go to such lengths to get it. They'd just fire HHH and take it for themselves on the spot.

Ya know, I'd fall out of my seat laughing, if they tried to make Kelly² take on the Randy Orton persona. She's probably too plastic for that though. Orton's outbursts were more assault and less screaming like a banshee. Edge egging him on probably helped a bit too.

Well Kali might be gone from the ring for good. It's sort of sad to see him exit that way from being a powerhouse that people feared for a while to a goof then to failing heel then a jobber.

I'm not really sad to see him gone. Just to she him go out the way of Jamie Noble. JN was just sad, he had finally began to pick up and was doing well only to be feed as fodder for Shemas's buildup.

I heard that Ryder returned at the end to say he still had trust in H only to be pedigreed. I really don't know what the purpose of most of the segments with H (except for the vote of confidence) serves nowadays.

Smackdown was good. Too many promos and reviews of the 'walk out' but still good in terms of matches. People may try and say that Teddy is letting SD fall into chaos too but honestly isn't that how SD has always been like?

But the other plus side is that this might be the end of the supershows which I can't be happier about. The only people who should be able to go between shows are the ones holding the belts.

I don't know if Evan's injury was real or not but I give him major props for either selling an injury beautifully throughout the match (something the guys forgot to do Monday following Hell in the Cell) or for sticking around to fight despite being hurt.

I'm surprised that Hornswaggle is still on the roster I have no idea why he is there but he's there.

I looked away from my tv for a second to post a reply and the Diva's action was over. Though I like how Alicia didn't just scream like a little b***h but actually tried to sound tough. I really wish that they would develop her character more and give a well rounded fighting style that shows off her flexibly now that the 'queen of splits' is gone.

They really should bring on Aloisia after screwing her over like that. I mean they fired her over pics, AJ had even more racier pics out and look at their baby face Diva, they basically had her dancing and dressing like a stripper. I mean really if you look up Kelly Kelly in images she has so many topless pics out with her hands covering her nipples. Yet they let that slide. Aloisia can add onto the Divas of Doom angle until Kong returns if ever.

I can't wait for them to put Brutus Clay back into action and I hope that this doesn't fall apart and end with a few showings. Like that NXT winner who appeared for one match to job and that was the last we saw of him. And the TE winner who screwed up his chances.

Big Show is back! Yes! I hope that Kane returns as well.

Seriously though. They reviewed the walkout almost word for word TWICE! WHY TWICE?! Otherwise Teddie had Smackdown under control. Superstars show bad sportsmanship like this all the time. It just pisses me off that they plug Be a Star just before Air Boom gets jumped like they just stepped into the wrong alley in a hood flick.

They could have added some more actual content though. Reviewing the walkout with two of the same promo, and the brief Hornswoggle moment just for a spin-a-roonie, made it feel like they were just a bit short on material. It would have been better if they stretched a little more out of Alicia Fox v Beth Phoenix (Like say having Alicia put up a fight rather than a 15 second squash match?) or out of Ezekiel Jackson v Jinder Mahal. Hell, they could have had Aksana continue to charm Teddie instead of her just not showing for the night for all I care.

Actually If Aksana helped direct Teddie in a Smackdown Crackdown (Sorry...), it would give her a good non-competition boost in popularity.

Big Show actually put some emotion onto Mark Henry's face. Quite amazing. Show can put out a devastating spear. Christian on the other hand, well, he just seems silly when ramping up for those.

Decent show though. Most of the action was pretty good.

I'm not sure what to make of Ring of Honor. The action is always great. Matches can last up to 25 minutes. With the stunts they do over the course of a match, the quality is significantly higher than WWE. RoH makes WWE's better wrestling look mechanical and uninspired by comparison. Rather than people no-selling hits, you get the sense that they've stood up to worse and over longer periods of time.

I guess it's just that I'm not terribly invested in the story. I generally don't know what's going on leading up to a match, and I don't recognize anybody besides Jay Lethal, Charlie Haas, and Shelton Benjamin. It's more like watching a video game I guess. It's a sort of Let's Play where the RPers were replaced by hardcore PvPers.

I was the same way with Raw back when I first began watching it. My dear cousin explained it all to me which was very useful because then I didn't have the internet to look up who was who. It took a few weeks and back then the brief promos/flash backs gave me a good idea why people were feuding.

I still can't watch RoH. As long as I don't think about it I don't feel torn up about it. Though I wish that I could see it outside of the few youtube clips that I've seen. But maybe if this keeps up ROH will move to a different channel more people will have. Though I can't think of another that could pick them up.

Yeah, the promos and recaps were always helpful for getting us caught up on RAW. I did some poking around the RoH website, but didn't get much. Just a history of title possessions. I'll have to check back there again. HHH promised a show, I assume he'll deliver. They aren't gonna just drop RAW at a time like this.

I missed the first 30 minutes and for once I'm grateful that there's that 30 gap of recalling and talking.

But in the end I'll have to say that this show was so-so. I wasn't even torn between watching Raw and playing Gardens of Time, GoT had my attention for most of the show.

I can see that they are sort of trying to revive some of that old Attitude era by giving the heels more of the upper hand but it just doesn't make me feel like investing my interests into it like I once did with the Dark Co-operation reign.

Diva's action was dull. Even with them doing a few new moves and trying to be a bit more extreme I can't bring myself to watch something I know is basically a squash match given they paired Eve and Kelly against two of the biggest jobbers in the Divas division. It's not hard to see this, now if they wanted to fix this have Tamina and Rosa actually win or dominate more, have them join the DoD Rosa has a reason to thanks to her history with Beth, and Tamina just needs it.

Over all the matches were something of a mess or mediocre at best it does give the feeling that it was all slapped together at the last minute but still if felt like a mess that not even Miz's and Truth's return to the ring could not fix that.

I'm sort of happy that I wasn't able to watch RoH, if I had I think I might have hated tonight even more if it wasn't for that other game keeping me occupied.
