Damian smiled softly and pulled Lili towards him, kissing her passionately. "I'm just glad I'm here with you." he said while gently stroking her hand, some tears rolling down his cheeks, too. Veral may have been the worst person he ever met, but she was still his mother... and burying her was one of the hardest things he's ever done.

Lili blushed a bright red, not expecting him to kiss her like that. She shut her eyes and enjoyed the kiss for a moment. Her hands merged with his, holding it lightly. Lili's free hand reached up wiping a few tears away from hsi cheek with her thumb. "Hey don't cry.....What's wrong sweetheart?" she asked him rubbing the back of his head lightly looking at him with a sad look. 1st he came in hurt, now he was crying. And those were two things she couldn't stand.

Damian just smiled and rested his forehead against hers. "It's nothing." he said with a soft chuckle. Who knows? Maybe he was actually crying tears of joy to be free from Veral? But that didn't matter now. All that mattered was Lili.

Lili managed a smile back at her love "If you say so. But if you ever need to talk. Then just know I'm here" she kissed his nose lightly, her hands in his. For once she got to finally enjoy some piece and quiet with him.

"Well... There are some stuff you need to know..." Damian said and sat up, wincing a little when his wounds opened back up. "...Just a few hours ago, that Russian - I forgot his name. Nick, right? - shot Veral." he said and fidgeted with her fingers, not looking at her. "It... It was for the best..." he said, trying to convince himself more than Lili. Even now he could feel the tears coming again. "I told the Russian that if he did it, he'd tell Lena that it was me who did it..." he said, tears coming down. "I think..... Lena despises me now. No, I know she does..." he said, his voice breaking a little. He looked everywhere except at her. "I've lost my foster mother and my sister in a few hours." he said and began to break down into sobs.

Lili blinked a little, if she had seen her mother get shot she'd try and not cry. She hated her mom and her mom despised her. But she was still her mom. Lili felt tears building up in her eyes seeing Damian break down like that. "It's gonna be ok...." she said quietly through her tears and hugged him, giving him a shoulder to cry on. "Lena loves you....She may seem mad but she doesn't hate you. Plus it's false pretense, it wasn't your fault." she mumbled kissing his cheek lightly trying to show that she cared. Lili went back to hugging him tears streaming down her face, getting his sleeve wet.

Damian looked at Lili sadly then rested his head on her shoulder, letting out all his sobs. "Oh God, Lili! I don't know what to do!" he cried, his arms wrapping around her back.

"Life does silly things doesn't it." she let out a dry laugh and stroked his hair lightly. "This was supposed to happen, everything happens for a reason and you can't change it. You just have to keep walking." Lili whispered and smiled lightly, making up for his sadness but tears kept streaming down her face.

"I was meant to lose my entire family?" Damian asked in between sobs, still not looking at her. His wings unfolded and covered the two up, as if hiding him from God, itself.

"Fate's cruel" she said quietly feeling his wings surround them. "Fate is always most cruel to the most wonderful, nicest, lovely people." she pulled his head up to make him look Lili in the eyes. "But this time it chose to hurt the person who means the most to me." She wiped his tears then planted a tiny kiss on his forehead. "So please do not cry, I cannot stand to see you like this. Breaks my heart"

Damian sniffed and wiped his eyes with his jacket's sleeves then nodded. "Ok." he smiled a littled. "I don't want to lose you." he said softly as his wings uncurled from them. "You're all I have left..." he said and kissed her gently.

Damian's shadow begin to stir until three chains shot out and wrapped around his neck tightly. Lena stormed into the room in her demon form. "Who the Hell are you to kill her?!" she yelled and tightened her fist, tightening the chains' grip.
Damian gasped and was dragged down to his knees in front of his sister. "I.... I did it.... for you......" he gagged and pulled at the chains, but that only made it worse.

"Did it for me?! You just killed mom?! How is that doing anything for me?!?" she cried and let one of her poisonous claws grow out.
He flailed a little until he remembered that he's a shapeshifter and shifted into a snake. He slipped through the chains and made his way to his sister, shifted back, and hugged her. "I know it hurts." he said softly, making sure she couldn't hit him from how tight his hug was. "She would've killed you... I had no choice. Just know that I tried to keep her alive, I did. I'm so sorry, and I know it hurts."
Lena tried to break away from her brother's grip, but was too overwhelmed with sadness and began crying. "I hate you." she cried silently as her mask broke apart. "I hate you with all my heart."

Nikolai opened the door. "Lena....wait...." he sighed. "I did it...im the one who killed her. Damian just took the rap so you wouldnt hate me....im sorry"

Lena heard Nikolai come in and was a little happy to see him when she heard his last comment. "Y-You?" she said and would've collapsed if Damian hadn't stopped holding her. "N-No... You... You wouldn't do that..." she said and shook her head.
Damian looked over at the Russian in confusion. Guilt eat him up, or something?
