A7 was meticulously filling each glass with a specific amount of liquid - a different amount for each glass, in fact. He looked up at the guy asking questions, and laughed. "Not exactly. In fact, if anyone touches these glasses I'ma bust their dead heads in. I just thought of a better use for them. I've never done this before, but it can't be that hard.."

After filling at least a couple dozen different glasses, he took a spoon out from behind the bar and eyed his creation. Then he looked up at y2, and grinned - not that the man could see it. He could hear it in his voice when he spoke, though.

"Let's test this s**t out."

He tapped one of the glasses, and it pinged with a beautiful note. "Awww ******** yeah." He smacked a few of them, trying to figure out what each one sounded like. He rearranged them, and of course the first thing he tried to play was Jingle Bells.

Fiver thought about that for a moment and then nodded slowly. "We could ... I think if we stay here, it would be almost like giving up ..." he murmured. "Cause I think if we stay, we'll never y'know. Remember anything from before..." Which could be good or bad, really.

But he wanted to know why at least. Surely the answer to that question was beyond the door somewhere. "Not yet, though. I wanna see what that idiot thinks he's doing first." He gestured at A7.

Damn that A-7...can't a man stare mindlessly at a wall without that fellow going and interrupting with...good lord what was he trying to play on those glasses anyways? With a put upon sigh, the Doctor got up and very pointedly poured the slightest bit of water out of one of the glasses. Searching about he found a small wooden spoon, and with a gentle tap...ahhhh. Much better. Fiddling about with a few others, he asked, "Jingle Bells? To welcome and usher out the dead? Really?"

With intrigue, yII continued to watch A7 to see just what he was up to. It seemed his second guess was correct as the guy tapped the glass to make a clear sound resonate. Amused as he watched the glasses be rearranged, most likely to be in note order.

"Impressive," he said, hearing a rather familiar tune. His memory was a little foggy but wasn't that a song that always played around that one big holiday where people bought other people stuff and such?

"Do you take requests?" he chuckled. Not that he could really remember many song titles at the moment to really ask for anything in specific.

A7 almost knocked a glass over as he bent in and laughed at the Doctor, loving his reaction. "It's easy, what do you want from me, Mozart?" That wasn't going to happen. In fact, he was already trying to figure out the best way to play chopsticks - it was turning out horrible.

As he clanged away, the Doctor's tones started to meld with his own. He shrugged at y2, barking out a laughing answer. "I probably won't remember most songs, but if I did, why the hell not?"

He was already starting to figure out a new song, moving the glasses around even as the Doctor hit them. It was like an itch in his brain, bothering him as he tried to remember it.

"You're remindin' me of a song, Doc." He murmured, as he started focusing way too seriously on moving the glasses around. Finally, he took his spoon, and waited.

The Doctor had played two notes, and as quickly as he could A7 repeated them in a different chord - and then a third chord, right after. He started humming the song to himself as he played it. "You happen to know this one, Doc?"

The Doctor's hand was moving on it's own even as A7 asked, "It's a song..." he began slowly, recalling the beat first and then...he laughed. "Oh...but, which girl will it be referring to?" He tapped out the opening, "Which girl is ah... yours?" His free hand began snapping to the emerging tune. A soft snort, and he prodded the other man just a bit further, "So, tell us then, what have you got?"

"I don't remember a whole lot of songs myself. For some reason 'Freebird' is coming to mind... Something tells me that isn't going to work too well with that, though," grinned yII before glancing at the other one that had joined in on the music attempt.

Aside from the random notes being hammered out, there was something more definite as A7 hummed along with something. Unfortunately for this gamma, he wasn't quite recalling what it was at this point. He was trying hard to remember if he had really heard it before or if his mind was just grasping for straws at this point.

After his departure, Zeta Eight had done little more than sit where she had been placed at the bar, staring idly at nothing in particular with the same subject material for her thoughts. Even as she had watched Eta Four walk through the doorway, she hadn't let herself feel more than a brief stab of mourning for the girl she didn't even really know, allowing herself only a brief moment to lament. There would be time for that -- for now, she did not want to think about the fact that they were dead, nor come to grips with any of it. So when Alpha Seven leaped over the bar, she directed her attention to him instead, watching with vague interest as he filled up the glasses one by one, mildly curious until he tapped one of them, producing a beautiful echo that resonated from the bottom of the glass and into the air. But it was not until the Doctor showed up on the scene that her curiosity was really piqued, the distinct feeling that something interesting was going to happen pressing at the forefront of her mind. Sitting up slightly, she tilted her head at the two, her eyes flicking between them as they played with the glasses, obtaining her utmost attention.

... that was, until the word 'idiot' reached her ears.

Twisting her body at the waist, she turned her face mask to pointedly stare at 'Fiver,' her stare encroaching on eerie before she spoke in her returned mechanical tone, the lack of infliction only making it sound more sarcastic.

"Because you and your menage a trois are exceptionally intelligent. Please, allow me to take notes as you lecture on 'How to Most Efficiently Infuriate the Collective in Order to Ensure Your Own Prompt Neutralization. Twice.'"

Without waiting for an answer, Zeta Eight turned herself to re-face the front of the bar, taking one of the glasses without thinking about it before pausing, realizing she couldn't drink it. Glancing back to Alpha Seven, (with a polite nod to the Doctor,) she gave an idle motion with her hand for them to continue, setting the glass back down where she had gotten it.

She'd have said to hell with them, but... all things considered... that would have been redundant.

Zeta four flinched from where he had curled up away from the crowd to tremble in panic- until the soft sounds of... music? drifted their way through his helmet and somewhere into his brain.

Slowly, as though moving through a dream he unfolded and wobbled to his feet, head cocked as he timidly approached the bar of soldiers laughing.

Others were taking bets on... something... another party game?

No... they weren't dead. It was just as he had wanted... everyone happy and alive and having a good time together and no one was torn apart and soaked with blood or burnt alive or...

Quietly humming along to the clinking song instinctively, he snatched a glass himself before A7 could deny him that.

The Doctor's question cut him right to the core. His hand paused just before hitting one of the notes, and the song died off as the ringing slowly stopped. There was a faint, throbbing feeling - he didn't know what to think of it. And somewhere, underneath his mask, a foreign expression - he was frowning. No, he was pouting.

He gave one last glance around the room to confirm it. She still hadn't made it. She might never make it. Maybe she was resurrected a second time - the thought was both encouraging, and heartbreaking. All A7 could deal with was what he always dealt with.

The here, and the now.

What was right in front of him.

His hand twitched, as the tune started up again. This time it was livelier. Bum. Da dum da da da Bum. Da dum da da da. His grin was back in full force, as he caught the tail end of Z8 defending him.

And a chorus of angels suddenly broke forth from the heavens, filling the room with proper back up vocals. He wasn't just imagining that, was he? Of course not.

"I've got sunshine," A remarkable tenor crooned out of nowhere, aimed quite sharply at Z8.

"On a cloudy day."

He almost dropped his spoon when he heard the Doctor, suddenly picking up the background vocals for him. Bum. Da dum da da da Bum. Da dum da da da. He handed the spoon to G3, who took up the beats without failing, and spun out of the bar. One hand was on his stomach, and the other was flailed out, as he two stepped his way towards the Doctor and Z8.

"When it's cold, outside," He took the Doctor's hand, and spun him around in a circle. "I've got the month of May." He let the Doctor go, only to settle him beside, and fall into step with the man.

Yes, the two were now singing, and dancing, in sync. The lounge had now entered a strange new world called..

Death Lounge: The Musical.

"I'd guess you'll say, what can make me feel this way?"

On cue, he plucked Z8 out of her seat, and pulled her into his arms.

"My girl," He sang, barely hearing the echo of The Doctor and Z4 sing the lyric behind him. My girl. My girl.

"Talkin' bout, my girl," He let her go, and took a step back. Was he falling into place in a dance number with Z4 and A4??

Was this real life?

"My girl!"

A-One watched the strange scene in front of him, confused.

... Was this just fantasy?
PostPosted: Wed Apr 13, 2011 12:41 am

Caught in a landslide...of soulful rhythm, the Doctor stepped to the forefront, and crooned out smoothly, "I've got sooo--oo much hon-ey," a little extra sway hit his moves, "The bees envy me." He gave a smile to Z4 that the other man couldn't see. "I've got a sweeter song...than the birds in the trees."

He briefly hoped the lad wasn't still hurt over the chair thing before stepping back beside him and hitting the chorus full-on with a gliding spin and an outstretched hand,

"Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl.
Talkin' 'bout my girl.
"

Swept up by the music, Z4's spirits seemed to brighten, and attempting to throw back the drink in his hand which lead to disastrous results, but he couldn't feel the wet through his mask at least, his hum and quiet back up picked up. He spun and danced along with the others, following their queues as though lead by the spirit of the song until his own voice piped up as cheerfully as he had stepped up on his imaginary soap box on day one...

"Don't need no money, Fortune or fame." He flipped an ice bucket from a table top, dumping it in a smooth motion to snap onto his head to work as the oversized top-hat it was crafted to resemble, just large enough to fit on his helmet, "I've got all the riches, baby, One man can claim."

Courage mentally gained by the imaginarily swallowed shot, he stepped up to pull Z8 out of A7's grip in a gentle twirl,

"Well, I guess you'll say What can make me feel this way?" An assuring pat to the shoulder when everyone else wanted to punch him. A quiet reassurance when everyone else thought he was an idiot.

"My girl." (My girl, my girl) The backups swept past, smooth and natural, as he lead her into a side step, "Talkin' 'bout my girl..."

What.

A7 almost missed a step as Z4 started crooning to Z8, but he let the man finish his verse. It was only fair!

Of course, once the verse and chorus were over, one particular twirl in their somehow unrehearsed choreography had A7's fist meeting up with Z4's face. In tandem with the punch came a twirl of his arm around Z8's waist, pulling her back into his arms as if nothing had ever changed.

"I've got suh~uh~nshine, on a cloudy day, with my girl." His tune heightened as he briefly broke ranks to wrap his arms around the woman and twirl her around. This time, he kept her in his arms even as he fell back into the dance, as if having learned his lesson. Hopefully Z4 was already back up and at it, but A7 wasn't letting Z8 go anytime soon.

QQ moar, Top Hat.

"I've even got the month of May, with my girl." He brought her in front of him, his hands tight around her waist as he danced with her until the song ended.

What was that? Rousing applause? Or maybe stunned silence. He couldn't tell. All he knew was that they were awesome.

... well, it was at least polite to clap, even if A-One didn't intend on standing up anytime soon, not after everything. It might not be a standing ovation, but it was applause, anyway.
