It was adorable though I hoped that they would be able to work it out.
I looked down when Brisk-kit planted himself down in front of me. Great Starclan kits could place themselves right when and where they shouldn't. "Brisk-kit honey. LOCATION: Old Densite COMPANY: Silverstar, Thor, Hareleap, Cinderstreak, Lark, Featherheart OOC: Ebony will be the cat who bumped into Silverstar XD
Ebonysun's ears flicked when his paws sank into a particularly deep puddle, sinking in until mud caked his legs up to his belly, plastering his fur to his legs uncomfortably. It took a lot of his self control not to hiss in annoyance, or to pause and shake his fur out. All this mud was going to require a bathe in the river later, and being a cat who was not overly fond of water, it seemed to the jet black warrior that the day was not going to go too well. He hadn't really been paying much attention to where he was going, and before he knew it he found himself walking into a faceful of fur. Stepping back alarmingly, his ears pricked when Silverstar uttered an apologetic grunt. Well, at least he was forgiven for walking face-first into his leader's bum. Sounded much worse when he thought of it that way.
His sinister orange eyes widened slightly as he took in the extent of the damage the densite had sustained. The apprentices' den was submerged somewhere in the mud, and the elder's den was practically a pile of floating brambles. Even when they had trained out the water, it would still be some time until it was habitable. He turned when Silverstar addressed his concern, telling him that Stormclan would still attend the Gathering and that they would not appear weak to the other clans. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it the moment she said that Starclan had not sent a sign that the Gathering shall not proceed. Ebonysun was a tom with utter faith in Starclan, as he saw both his parents' deaths as signs, that they both deserved to die because they had committed unforgivable sins. "If it's Starclan's will then so be it, the Gathering shall proceed whether or not the Island still exists after the flood. Also, we should head off soon; the full moon approaches soon and with the ground in this condition, it'll take us longer to travel." The sun was just starting to set and the full moon would not take long to show itself, plus with their territory practically turned into a swamp it would take twice as long to travel. At that moment, Thor approached Silverstar and asked to speak with her, and Ebonysun took it as his cue to leave.
Obeying Silverstar's command to start digging from the far side of camp, Ebonysun waded through the water to until it was shallow enough that he could actually stand properly in it. His paws squished in the soggy mud, making his muzzle wrinkle in distaste at how dirty his fur was about to become. If it was for the good of Stormclan, then he won't complain. His paws sank into the mud and lifted out clumps, gradually forming a shallow trench. The water was already starting to flow out, albeit slowly, but it was progress nonetheless.

”Goodbye Thunderflight, please eat what’s inside the packet I gave you, the borage. We need you plentiful to support your kits!” A beautiful little she-cat whose pelt was as white as snow had softly called to her closest friend, the deputy of StormClan, Thunderflight. Her luminous crystal blue eyes followed the fading outline of the jet-black she-cat, a cloud of sadness momentarily shadowing the usually clear gaze of the StormClan Medicine-Cat, Moonblaze. With her deputy’s never ending schedule and duties to fulfill, it left little time for the warrior to visit Moonblaze, or her kits, for that matter. Moonblaze constantly worried for the she-cat and her kittens. Well, Moonblaze had always worried for everyone, it wasn’t long until peace would cease. Yes, StarClan warned her all too well of that. The dream from the last visit to the Moonpool echoed like a bad memory within her head. Sighing, the she-cat turned away to finish sorting the packets of herbs before her when yowls of terror and alarm rang through the clearing like the piercing cries of a startled bird. Her head snapped towards the faint orders of Thunderflight and Silverstar. Swiftly, the she-cat began to gather as many herbs as she could, giving Fadinghorizon a concern-filled look before taking off to the outside of the den.
Utter shock greeted the healer once she stepped paw outside. The camp was in chaos. Literally. Thunder wailed in a booming voice from the heavens, lightning striping the sky in intense flashes. Water began to flow in violent courses, exploding into camp, catching unfortunate cats and obstacles in its ruthless waves. Cats were shrieking and scrambling to and from dens, alarm and fear-scent radiating from them like a disease. Suppressing a yowl of pure horror and alarm, Moonblaze noticed something…peculiar as she gazed into the breath-taking storm, something was wrong. Something didn't feel right about it... She…she felt…
Frozen...
Statue-like...
Paralyzed...
She couldn’t move. As the flood surged forward, Moonblaze was stuck to the spot, something about this ordeal forced her limbs to still. Fadinghorizon suddenly moved past, carrying a large load of herbs, as much as the ginger she-cat could carry. She watched her fellow healer shoot her an urgent look before evacuating towards the cave they escaped to in the last flood. Moonblaze frowned; she was still frozen to the spot, perhaps in fear, uncertainty, or just plain bewilderment. The she-cat screamed mentally, wanting to move, to help. Finally, as if someone had unfrozen her very being, Thunderflight rushed towards her, panting. The raven colored deputy then called over the relentless storm, Moonblaze could hardly make out what the deputy was yowling.
"What do you need help with?"
Her best friend's voice seemed to return the Medicine-Cat to reality, thankfully. She blinked with sudden realization of what was the priority at paw.
She knew what to do.
Moonblaze disappeared into her den like a shooting star, the Medicine Den already beginning to fill with dark water. Quick with haste, Moonblaze blinked in and out of the den, returning each time with packets of herbs, safely wrapped within large beech and ivy leaves. She passed what she could to Thunderflight before sending her off.
She had no time to spare.
She couldn't even say a think to Thunderflight, let alone move until her jet-black comrade's presence welcomed her.
Paws prickling with fear for her clan, the adrenaline-coated she-cat began handing off herbs to those who came by her den to collect them. She knew that most of her precious store would perish to the storm, already, damaged leaves and packets lay scattered around her den, some soaked beyond repair with water. Miraclesky approached, her cornflower blue eyes flashing as she also asked what the white healer was in aid of. Moonblaze could only nod as the ginger warrior swept several bunches of herbs into her muzzle. Giving a faint sign of approval, Moonblaze mewed hurriedly, her voice oddly calm and hushed as she spoke. ”That’s fine Miraclesky, make haste. Get to the refuge cave quickly!” Once the ginger warrior was out of sight, Moonblaze took the remaining herbs she could muster. As fast as her paws could take her, Moonblaze darted for the refuge-cave, her maw brimming with leafy packets. She had sent what seemed like infinite prayers to her warrior ancestors, she hoped they would bless them with safety and no casualties. But there was only hope. Without looking back, she disappeared like a white star, into the midst of the raging storm...After TimeskipWeak sunlight filtered into the small makeshift den, lightly warming the fur of two bundles of fur that lay, fast asleep, within the walls of the shielding den. The older of the two, a small white she-cat, lay, deep within peaceful and much needed slumber. Along with the orange she-cat alongside, her flank gently rose and fell as a sign. As the sun grew brighter, the she-cat began to stir, limbs rippling from underneath her pure icy pelt. She awoke at the feeling of something...or perhaps...someone watching her... She mentally frowned and shrugged it off, it was probably a bird or something...right? Not some weird cat who likes watching Moonblaze, in particular...right? Moonblaze yawned, her pink tongue brush the roof of her mouth in sleepy contentment. She forced her drowsy body to its paws, stretching as she welcomed the comforting rays of the sun onto her sleek back fur. Moonblaze blinked sleep away, revealing incandescent pale blue eyes, with the slightest hint of weariness within their colored depths. Now fully awake, the young healer inspected the den thoroughly, her soft pink pads brushing against slightly damp cave floors. She frowned as she watched activity stir from outside, observing a certain jet-black she-cat and her silvery-gray leader yowl orders to the clan, the events of the flood were all too fresh in her mind.FlashbackThe flash-flood had finally passed, but, it left destruction and casualties in its wake. Countless dens and pieces of territory had been damaged, forcing the cats to seek refuge in the caves they sheltered in the last flood once more. Moonblaze and Fadinghorizon had tended to ever cat, dressing wounds where needs be and helping other cats retrieve what they could from the wreck. In all, it had been absolutely exhausting for the two she-cats to handle. But, they were able to help every cat with their knowledge, and were able to gather what herbs they could scavenge and save. Now, the two were simply resting from the work, Silverstar not wanting to strain the she-cats too over their limits. They really did earn the sleep that they finally achieved. But, work would never be over for the duo.
Moonblaze padded about the den, checking over what was left of their ruined herb store. Her gaze wandered, finally resting on a freshly picked bunch of borage, their little blue star-shaped flowers still perky from dawn’s herb gathering. The flood had destroyed much of the herbs, but the worst of the store’s collection was the borage. Luckily, during this morning’s herb gathering, Moonblaze was able to find a generous amount of undamaged borage, though clumps of it had been too damaged to collect. ”Thank StarClan for being able to gather a good amount of borage. We still have queens who need to nurse their kits, with as much milk as they could get.” The Medicine-Cat noted thoughtfully while gingerly nosing the borage packet into its temporary crevice compartment. Hairy borage leaves tickling her delicate nose; causing the she-cat to sneeze. She couldn’t help but giggle at the momentary peace. But, as soon as she saw Thunderflight’s pelt pass by, her mind entered a world of troubles. Thunderflight…in her dream…the last visit to the Moon Pool….it was…horrifying… She remembered all too clearly the horrid words that spew from Thunderfli-star’s maw. Those icy blue eyes scorching through her with fury and disgust…she had never seen Thunderfl-star so angry…the she-cat’s words brought ugly thoughts to the healer’s mind…
”You abandoned StarClan!”
“You made a wish. And the sad thing is, you didn’t even regret it until he died, you fool!”
More words from the dream began to flood through Moonblaze’s mind, causing pain and regret to twist the pretty she-cat’s face into one of grief. Suddenly, she shook her head, as if trying to rid the cruel words. Moonblaze chastised herself mentally. ”Thunderflight would never do that…we’re best friends…it was…it was just a dream…but it seemed so…real…perhaps…” Everything became clear at the sudden thought of “wish”. The stone. Yes! Snowstar’s prophecy. The prophecy… Her dream hovered within her mind like a permanent memory engraved into her skull, Snowstar warned fluttered into her thoughts...
”Beware the stone!”
This stone. What was it? Where was it? Would the Clans be saved from this terrible objects wrath? It seemed all too harmful, and it was in a dream... Moonblaze began to ponder the prophecy, replaying it over and over again. Destruction was sure to come. She frowned; the floods seemed to happen one after another. It couldn’t be a coincidence. Snowstar’s words streamed into her mind once more. A light flickered on within her mind. That’s it…the storms may be an omen to the prophecy…that would mean…no…the clans had to be very careful…not just StormClan…destruction far worth then this would befall the clans…very soon… Moonblaze's gaze flitted towared the sky above, the moon barely visible in the daylight. Her crystal blue pools sparkled. It would be time for the Gathering. Following that, she would be able to make the annual trip to the Moon Pool, to finally get some answers! Her eyes shined with eagerness, she would do anything to keep this danger from bringing harm to the Clans, in any way she could. Suddenly, voices began to creep closer and closer towards her den. Distracting the she-cat from her thoughts, Moonblaze heard the faded meows of a familiar she-cat, a queen to be exact, and her young kit. Dismissing the previous thoughts as a troublesome hindrance to be brought up later, she turned her attention to the slender white she-cat in the cave entrance, outlined beautifully by the sun. Moonblaze smiled, but it was one of concern. The cat calling had been her cousin, Skywhisker. The queen’s voice was dripping with distress. Pulling on a calm demeanor, Moonblaze approached the mismatched gaze of the she-cat with a gentle and understanding blue one. ”Greetings Skywhisker, what can I do for you?” The snowy healer mewed softly, voice just above a whisper as she gestured the troubled queen to her “makeshift” den with her tail, gaze swimming with curiousity at what could dilemma the queen so much as to shoo off her own kit.╚════════════════════════════╝◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄❝Tʜᴇ MOON ᴡɪʟʟ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏs BLAZE ᴛʜʀᴏᴜɢʜ ᴛʜᴇ DARKNESS...❞

Mate to: Burrpelt☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆ I sighed as I heard a growl erupt from my son. He'll get over it. And he should because I had said we could talk later. He would be grumpy for a bit for not getting his way right away and then he would talk. It was that simple... Right? It was interesting though. Kits seemed to know the most awkward and horrible spots to show up. Usually right in the middle of something urgent. In this case that something was my own kit. Glimmerkit. I wasn't sure if it was just me or if something was wrong but I decided to make sure. Queens were like that. I had always thought the queens had been silly for worrying like that. When my mother was in the nursery, pregnant with Dawnsky another queen had sent for the medicine cat and I had thought it silly. Do I still think so? Absolutely not! Now I know what it's like. It's a mother thing.
I blinked when my cousin suddenly moved into my line of sight. I was proud of my cousin. She knew so much and was such a good medicine cat. Her mother would be proud of her. Moonblaze gestured with her tail. I just stared at the white tail for a bit, a dazed look in my eyes. Finally, with a small nod I slowly followed Moonblaze. Sitting down I let out a sigh. I sat there in silence for a moment to try and gather what words I would say to get my worry across. "You know, when Glimmerkit met Silverstar for the first time... Silverstar had this look in her eyes. It was weird. Like Glimmerkit was different." I shrugged and rested my mismatched gaze on my white pelted cousin. "I didn't think it meant anything." I continued to ramble, on a completely different note now. My words now having nothing to do with our silvery leader anymore. "Glimmerkit has been clumsy since she was born. But today, and the past couple of days. She has been running into things. Like.... Like she forgot to turn or something..." My words tumbled out as I tried to say everything at once. Maybe I was silly for worrying. Maybe it was nothing. Perhaps she was just being a clumsy kit but my heart refused to rest until I knew for sure. "Am I oblivious or something for not noticing sooner?" I questioned in dispair. What kind of mother would I be if I was so oblivious. What if they got hurt and all I said was 'they're fine'. What if?! .... "Is there something wrong with Glimmerkit?" I asked finally, my ears flicking a bit nervously at the thoughts that were fighting for my innermost attention.((Out Of Cats: @Ocean: No, that's fine. It's perfect really. Sorry ;w; <3►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►╔════════════════════════════╗ Gentle, understanding crystal pools addressed her cousin’s mismatched ones with concern and calm. Moonblaze tolerantly listened with open ears to the rambling and anxious voice of the young white queen, but Moonblaze couldn’t help but feel very apprehensive herself. She began to drift into her very own thoughts as Skywhisker rambled on about her dear little kitten, and, briefly, their leader. "You know, when Glimmerkit met Silverstar for the first time... Silverstar had this look in her eyes. It was weird. Like Glimmerkit was different." Moonblaze knew she wouldn’t stay on that topic for long either.... The snow colored healer was now lost in thought, the words of the queen becoming faint as the medicine-cat fell into her own little word. She was taking the matter at paw into attentive consideration.
Glimmerkit…I visit the Nursery regularly to check on the queens and see how their litters are fairing…and to deliver herbs for their wellbeing…how…how could I be so unaware? Ignorant? I wasn’t paying close enough attention! Of course I visited the Nursery, but I didn’t take those kittens into thought with sharper eyes… How could I be so dense? If my cousin’s kit dies, I couldn’t live with myself!
The medicine-cat strained her mind to listen closely to the words that spilled from her cousin’s white muzzle like a babbling stream. Said she-cat was doubting herself and her motherly skills, Moonblaze obliqued her ears to listen to Skywhisker’s words charily.
"I didn't think it meant anything."
"Glimmerkit has been clumsy since she was born. But today, and the past couple of days. She has been running into things. Like.... Like she forgot to turn or something..."
"Am I oblivious or something for not noticing sooner?"
Moonblaze returned to reality when Skywhisker ended her rambling, no, Moonblaze didn’t blame her cousin for not knowing what was wrong with her kit. It wasn’t easy to tell illness from others possibilities, especially when you weren’t somecat with a vast knowledge on the sort, like medicine-cats. But, the healer wasn’t unfocused enough to not sense the apprehension and self-doubt that clung to the ashen queen’s tone like ticks. First and foremost, Moonblaze would help her. But, the foremost question that hung in the air like mousebile.
"Is there something wrong with Glimmerkit?"
A soft leveled voice broke the silence that followed, it seemed confident and tender, filled with placid serenity. Moonblaze was surprised that it was her own voice that found its way onto the air. ”Skywhisker, please, calm down. You are not a terrible mother, I can assure you, your kits couldn’t get a better mother than you. You are such a kind, talented, loving, and wonderful parent, believe in that. It’s not wrong to not know the problem at hand right when something is erroneous, I only wish you came to me when you first noticed the strange behavior of Glimmerkit. I believe that this issue is my fault for not paying a closer eye to the kits. For that, I am sorry.” The medicine-cat’s voice softened to something along the lines of a whisper, wary to not wake the ginger she-cat that lay in serene slumber, in the back of the cave. Moonblaze paused, taking a much needed breath before looking her cousin in the eye, unwavering strength and reassurance glittering in her gaze. ”I believe that the concern with Glimmerkit is beyond that of mere clumsiness. I fear that it might be something…more…dire… I’m incredibly sorry… Please, to confirm my suspicions, would you please fetch Glimmerkit, and bring her here, so I may inspect her properly?” Moonblaze requested with a silky yet tranquil voice, to show the white queen that she meant well, and that she would be strong for the both of them. Though, the white she-cat masked the prickling at her pelt. It hurt Moonblaze to believe her conclusion of the young ginger and white she-kit they were discussing. She didn’t want to believe it, but she was afraid it might be true.
Please…StarClan, let it be something….anything…just not…something terrible…or…what I think it is…please…for my cousin… ╚════════════════════════════╝◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄❝Tʜᴇ MOON ᴡɪʟʟ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏs BLAZE ᴛʜʀᴏᴜɢʜ ᴛʜᴇ DARKNESS...❞

Mate to: Burrpelt☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆ I was glad my cousin was our medicine cat. Family were some of the only ones who would listen to rambling and not get annoyed. It wasn't my fault that I rambled when I was nervous. It was my kit for Starclan's sake! I couldn't help but whimper when Moonblaze finally spoke. Would you please fetch Glimmerkit... Something more... dire. My head swam with worry. Dire? What could that possibly mean? It could mean so much. All of which caused worry in a mother. Though nonetheless I slowly nodded and got up, heading out to fetch my ginger and white kit.
Entering the nursery, Glimmerkit greeted me with a purr. "Momma! I smelled you coming!" She mewled excitedly, running to me and tripping over Squirrelkit's tail. Dire... I'm sorry.
I purred and licked Glimmerkit on the head. "Come now. We're going to go visit cousin Moonblaze."
"Moonblaze?! The medicine cat?" She squeaked excitedly.
"That's the one." I meowed without emotion. Sighing I bent down and picked up Glimmerkit by the scruff.
"I can walk momma." She protested.
I said nothing and carried her to Moonblaze. Slowing to a stop I set Glimmerkit down in front of me.
"Hi Moonblaze!" Glimmerkit squeaked happily. She had no idea what was coming. Come to think of it neither did I but the way my cousin was talking it didn't sound good. What if she was going to tell me that my kit was going to die?
Glimmerkit curled her tail around her paws and pointed her nose in the direction she thought Moonblaze was, her sightless blue eyes resting on the medicine cat. She could sense that her momma was worried about something, but she wasn't quite sure what. She placed a paw on top of Skywhisker's to try and comfort her mother. "Iss gonna be alright momma." THE POST OF TRUTH! ;w; Poor kitties indeed <333 It was fun writing this post though, I felt my emotions follow Moonblaze's as she had to deal with this for the first time in all her moons of being the medicine-cat of StormClan.►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►╔════════════════════════════╗ "Hi Moonblaze!"
”Hello little one. Glimmerkit, you are as lovely as your mother claims. Welcome to the temporary Medicine Den small one.”
The white pelted she-cat mewed with her quiet, meek voice, a purr starting quietly from the sweet cheerfulness that seemed to radiate from Skywhisker’s kit. Moonblaze bent her head, momentarily, to give the small she-kit a tender lick to her forehead before moving to her original posture. Her gaze flickered to Skywhisker's blue and green gaze before her gaze melted towards her paws.
Glimmerkit...she doesn’t sound sick…maybe there is something more than just some illness…
Moonblaze’s attention traveled, once more, to the requested kitten that was now seated before the white medicine-cat. The healer couldn’t help but smile gingerly, giving the little ginger and white tabby she-kit a warm gentle gaze of crystal blue. But, a muted flash of concern passed through that very gaze, something was…well…off, about the she-kit. Moonblaze’s eyes traveled to the fretful white queen behind Glimmerkit, Moonblaze frowned slightly before regaining her composure as she greeted her dear cousin with a kindheartedly mild. ”Welcome back cousin, I see you’ve brought the kit in question. But before we begin, I promise you that I’ll help you in any way possible, so please don’t look so…well…defeated, for lack of a better word. Be strong and hopeful for your kits, for Glimmerkit, I can guarantee you that you are not a terrible mother too.” Moonblaze finished by stretching herself, rather gracefully, over Glimmerkit, only to give her cousin an affectionate lick behind the ear, something a mother would do for an unhappy kitten, perhaps.
With that, Moonblaze offered the anxious queen a sympathetic look before returning to her former position. Carefully, Moonblaze stepped towards Glimmerkit’s smaller stature so she was nearly looming over the kitten. Moonblaze slowly bent her head, neck arching, as she studied the little she-kit. The medicine-cat made sure to be watchful, trying to be as unthreatening as the small she-cat possibly could. She gently nosed the kitten’s soft kit fur with her cool, delicate pink nose, checking her. The healer’s normally kind gaze changed to one of attentiveness, eyes calculating as she studied every single aspect of the she-kit in query. The white she-cat then pressed her nose, sensitively, against Glimmerkit’s, seeing if it was abnormal in temperature. Moonblaze’s eyes darkened slightly as she continued looking for any signs of illness or disability. Was something really wrong with the kit?
No…she knew something was off.
Moonblaze raised her head, mumbling too inaudibly for anyone to make out properly, still gazing at the little she-kit before her, narrowing her eyes as she calculated her conclusions of the kitten.
I can not sense any signs or sour smells of illness. Her breathing is normal, and her nose and fur show no signs of hotness, no fever. She’s as healthy as a kit her age could be. Clumsiness is normal for kittens, it’s not like they’ll be as graceful as birds in flight at such an age…but…what am I not see-
Moonblaze’s thoughts died instantly as she locked her gaze with Glimmerkit’s. Her eyes widened considerably as she looked into the she-kit’s brilliant blue gaze, Moonblaze hissed softly, in sudden realization.
Her….her…eyes…they weren’t looking at me directly…no…not at all…they are…looking right through me…as if…she doesn’t know where my face is…they look so…blank…no…no…Great StarClan, this changed everything….just….just like Cindermoon….
Gaining her proper composure once more, Moonblaze forced herself to cloak herself with calm as her head rose to look her cousin in the eye. Eye’s sparkling with emotion that ranged from relief to empathy to thoughtfulness. Taking a deep breath, Moonblaze offered Skywhisker a small smile before mewing in her docile tone.
”Skywhisker, I have some good news, your kit is safe, she’s ok, she shows no signs of illness…Glimmerkit is as healthy as a kit can be. But, there is some…unfortunate news….I found something else that you were probably unaware of, but it’s understandable. It’s hard to focus on what kit when you have many under your care. Cousin…there is no easy or gentle way to put this…but…Skywhisker, your kit…Glimmetkit….she’s...she’s…”
Moonblaze’s voice trailed off as she fought to keep herself under control, she would not show weakness, especially before her cousin, she had to be strong. She had to. The medicine-cat began again, her voice just barely exceeding that of a whisper, giving the young queen a sad yet gentle smile.
”She’s blind.”
Moonblaze chastised herself mentally as she continued, voice fighting to not tremble. Though, the emotion was void from her eyes, they appeared strangely calm and completely serious.
”Glimmerkit will never see the world beyond that of darkness.
She won’t be able to see her sibilings…
She won’t see her father face…
She can’t see her own mother….your face…"
Moonblaze paused to let the words sink in before starting once more, but, she wondered why she was saying these things herself. But, the snowy she-cat knew the queen had to hear this, she couldn't be sugary sweet on a matter like this. She was dead serious.
"She has a disability in eyesight and, unfortunately, will not be able to be the same as other warriors. But, it doesn’t mean she can’t become a warrior, she can train just as well as any other apprentice, but she’ll require…special training and such for this disability. All I can say is that I’m very sorry, I will visit her regularly to see how she’s fairing. I hope you know that none of this is your fault, no cat is perfect. This is something Glimmerkit has been given, perhaps as a trial, blindness doesn’t have to be a burden depending on how you use everything else. Perhaps her senses are a lot sharper than most cats, like Cindermoon….but…
I truly am sorry…
Even a medicine-cat can’t heal blindness…”╚════════════════════════════╝◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄❝Tʜᴇ MOON ᴡɪʟʟ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏs BLAZE ᴛʜʀᴏᴜɢʜ ᴛʜᴇ DARKNESS...❞

Cause I'm not afraid to fall On the edge
If you're the one who catches me Of something real
Tell that you'll be there when I'm I have a choice
About to lose it all But I don't know what to feel
You 're the one who helps me see Getting tired of all this fear
That sometimes it's ok to fall Before I choose
Let me know that you'll be here I know, I know, I know, I know / We gonna make it / 'Cause no one else can make me feel / The way that you do, I promise you ███ █████████████ I've come down with love, got bit by the bug You've got me trippin' on my feet I've come down with love, I can't get enough My mind starts racing and my heart forgets to beat ███████████
Mentor to: No one, She's raising kits. ^^ Past Apprentices: Oakpawbranch
Mate to: Burrpelt☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆ Glimmerkit let out a squeak of glee at Moonblaze's compliment. She was lovely! "Momma? Lovely is a good thing right?" She asked.
I purred and nodded. "Of course."
My kit nodded in satisfaction and then turned her attention to Moonblaze again. Is gonna be alright... I looked down and Glimmerkit and nodded. "I know." I reassured my kit, or tried to. Glimmerkit didn't look convinced when she looked away from me and back to Moonblaze.
I sat there, unsure as I waited for Moonblaze to begin the process of the check-up. Yes, that's what it was. Nothing more than a check-up. Oh how I would love for my heart to believe that. I blinked in surprise when my cousin addressed me. I looked defeated? I slowly nodded. She was right after all. I needed to be strong. Glimmerkit didn't sound sick. She didn't even look it. Maybe she wasn't sick. Either way. No matter what happened my kits, Glimmerkit needed my strength. You are not a terrible mother. I would believe that eventually. Maybe not in this heartbeat but then, in this exact moment I was worried. Though despite everything, it did make me feel a little bit better. I closed my eyes for a heartbeat as my ear gently bent under the pressure of her tongue. It brought back memories. I hadn't felt that since my mother lived. Moonblaze's aunt.
I curled my tail around my paws and tried to steady my racing heart as Moonblaze began to assess Glimmerkit.
As Moonblaze loomed over her, Glimmerkit tried to sit tall. The feel of the shadow that was there was a bit frightening to the kit. She couldn't see it, but she could feel the medicine cat looming.
Seeing Glimmerkit's tense posture I rested my tail on her small back for comfort. With that I brought my mismatched gaze back to Moonblaze as she nosed Glimmerkit. I was beginning to feel better because the look in Moonblaze's pale blue eyes said that she wasn't finding anything but then it happened. Those pale blue eyes widened substantially. Oh no... Was what started the thoughts racing. Is she dieing? I shook my head. No. I could not think like that. Whatever the case was I needed to be strong for Glimmerkit. I took a shallow breath and nodded to Moonblaze as she looked at me.
I breathed a sigh of relief when she said that Glimmerkit was okay. My eyes clearly showing my relief. I wrapped my tail around my kit and pulled her close. Though my relief ended when Moonblaze kept speaking. There was more? Unfortunate news. I sighed and slowly nodded. Of course there was more. There always was. Something you weren't aware of. Naturally. I nodded again. "What is..." I was cut off as she kept on speaking. Maybe I'll just wait.
No easy way to put this... She's.... She's what?! The suspense was slowly eating away at her. What was her kit?! "She's what?" I meowed exasperatedly.
"She's blind."
I stared at my cousin like she was from another world. Blind. My kit was blind? I turned my gaze from Moonblaze and looked out into the forest. My kit. MY KIT. She would never be able to see the trees. See the birds in the trees. Never be able to see how the wind makes the leaves dance. Never see her first snowfall. I turned my eyes back to Moonblaze and then looked at my paws. I huffed when she said Glimmerkit was given this. Given?! I shook my head. "It's not a gift." I mumbled. Even a medicine-cat can't heal blindness. No. It was one of the things not able to be healed and it bothered me. Why would Starclan do this. "Why would Starclan do this?" I repeated, out loud this time. "Have I done anything wrong and now they feel like they need to punish my kit?" I asked, looking up from my paws.((Out Of Cats: I love how I feel what my characters feel. It's so much fun. ))☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆Sweet / Caring / Swift / Gentle / Kind / Terrific Hunter / Strong / Understanding / Friendly / Determined████████████████ █████████████████ ████████████████████████████████████Sisters annoy, interfere, criticize. But, poor Skywhisker ;A; She's taking it hard 3 Lol, I was going to have Moony talk about genetics of blindness, then I was like "Lol, cats don't even know what genetics are. If anything, if kits are born with disfigurements or genetic issues, warrior cats would blame it on StarClan xD" So yeah, that's why, if anyone was wondering, why Moonblaze said "given" c: <3 Ohhh, I'm loving this discussion. Ty Kitty for rping with me ;w; <3 I felt bad, lol I'm mean to my cats and other cats, for putting the extra suspense for Skywhisker, but, I thought it was necessary for Moonblaze, it made things more interesting!~ ALSO: Only Skywhisker can hear what they are discussing outside! Long ooc is long. Sorry if anything Moony says is cheesy, I felt that it was what Moonblaze would say. She isn't wise for nothing. Again, I felt really cheesy while writing this ;w; forgive me!►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►╔════════════════════════════╗ She’s looking at me as if I was a cat sent from the Dark Forest to tell her devastating news…
Moonblaze was taken back by the desperation and tone of voice the hysterical white queen had took with her. The she-cat’s pale blue eyes would normally widen at this before apologizing and find a kinder way of concluding things, but this time, it was different. Her eyes simply narrowed as she nodded faintly, closing that her cousin’s little Glimmerkit was indeed blind. Skywhisker took on a new advance, which send a chill down the healer’s spine. She was blaming StarClan for her kit’s blindness…what should the medicine-cat do? Agree with her? No, Moonblaze had to say what she believed in, as much as she loved her dear cousin, Moonblaze found it that it would only hurt worse for her kin if she simply tried the easy way. In a way, the easy way was the more difficult way to take things.
I should know, I tried to hide my feelings for…him…but StarClan found out in the end, and Thunderflight…she knew too…you simply can’t escape destiny…no…you can’t escape the truth…I couldn’t escape the truth…no matter how much you want to…
The young healer stared at Skywhisker with a comforting blue gaze before softly hissing to her cousin, a firm look across her face, she made sure her voice was low enough for only Skywhisker’s ears to heed. ”Skywhisker, you need to calm down and listen. Please. You will scare Glimmerkit here if you continue with such a tone. I don’t think a stressed and scared kitten will make things better. Moonblaze paused, an idea flashing into her mind. Following this feeling, she directed her tail-tip towards the entrance of the den. The silky pallid she-cat than turned her head, fixing her cousin’s mismatched eyes with a completely serious blue one.
”Actually, Skywhisker, let’s discuss this matter outside. Glimmerkit, please watch Fadinghorizon for us until we get back. We’ll be back before you can say mouse.”
Moonblaze’s ears flicked towards the slow fall and rise of a ginger tabby pelt that lay in a soft bed of moss near the back of the medicine cave. The she-cat regarded Glimmerkit fondly, hoping the she-kit would understand. The healer than gracefully got to her paws and gave Glimmerkit a loving lick behind her ear before padding towards the entrance of the herb scented den. She again motioned the she-cat once more to follow her into the daylight before disappearing into the opening that led outside, light consuming her body in a heavenly glow.
The white medicine-cat waited patiently to the side of the cave, making sure no cats were nearby to listen into their discussion. She waited until her cousin sat before her to continue anything. Generous rays of sunlight comforted the stress medicine-cat with warmth and reassurance; she smiled and nodded to the sky, sending a quick prayer to StarClan that she would say all that was needed to her cousin. Moonblaze straightened her posture to one of elegance, her crystal eyes shined with a bit of sympathy, but gleamed with faith and strong belief in her ancestors before answering Skywhisker’s pleas for an answer. It’s not StarClan’s fault. Your kit was born with a defect in eyesight. It’s as simple as that. It’s not common to be born with blindness, but it isn’t rare either. Please don’t blame StarClan for Glimmerkit’s blindness, and instead, look at it as a positive thing, and not such a negative one.”
The snowy she-cat wrapped her long soft tail around her small paws before fixing her cousin with a stern blue gaze that blazed with wisdom and compassion.
”Why, you ask, why would StarClan let Glimmerkit enter this beautiful yet cruel world with this “burden”? StarClan doesn’t just send kittens into the world as perfect beings. Our imperfections make us stronger. Glimmerkit may be blind to further turn her into a promising cat. Not all imperfections are meant to be terrible; it depends on how you look at it. I believe that this had nothing to do with whose fault it was. You have never done anything against the will of StarClan for them to be displeased with you. You are a loyal warrior of StormClan any cat would appreciate. I don’t think Glimmerkit is being punished either. In fact, I think she’s been given a gift in a way. A gift. Moonblaze decided to turn the discussion into something else that went alongside with their current topic.
”Do you not remember Cindermoon, the deputy before Thunderflight?”
Moonblaze waited for the queen to remember their late deputy. The medicine-cat studied Skywhisker before answering with a strong voice, louder than usual, but not booming. It was more of a strengthened mew.
”Cindermoon was a great and noble warrior of StormClan. She would have made a wonderful leader too. She trained and fought as hard as any cat. But, she was also born with a “burden”. She was blind. Warriors scorned her for it, telling her she would never be the same as the others, that she would never witness the beauty of the world, of life. This was painful, the burden of being looked down upon by the others because of how she was born. But, this is what made her different. She wouldn’t lose, making the cats that laughed at her win. She didn’t allow the defect to take her down. Cindermoon didn’t let blindness hold her back. No, great StarClan, she promised to see the world in a way that would show others that she could live her life beautifully, just because she couldn’t see wouldn’t mean she couldn’t enjoy her life. She simply trained harder than the others; she was set on proving everyone that she would not let petty eyesight keep her from serving her clan just as well as the others. This is what made her great. She made this “burden” from StarClan the thing that would make her one of the greatest clan cats who ever lived. Being able to bear with it and continue her life is what made her great. Her resolve. Cindermoon was determined to be the best warrior she could possibly be, fighting for her clan with her very last breath, blind. Her blindness made her into the cat she was as a warrior, deputy, and in the final battle with the Star Slayers. She fought with all her might, until the very end when it was taken by those wretched beasts. She was a hero, and always will be. She’s honored as a great warrior of StormClan and StarClan. It all happened from the choices she made. She didn’t let something that everyone thought would be her downfall defeat her; she didn’t see it as a burden. Her blindness is what made her stronger. No. She treated it as a sign of strength. Strength.”
The she-cat was surprised to find her eyes beginning to water. She blinked back tears; her heart trembled from precious lives lost that day, the battle with the Star Slayers. Moonblaze loved Cindermoon very much; she was like a big sister to her. The she-cat had always been very compassionate and strong-willed, showing more appreciation for life blind as others would with eyesight. She didn’t let her life go to waste, even with blindness. Fighting to regain her stature and ability to speak, Moonblaze began again, but her voice was tremendously soft and shook slightly, still filled with much emotion, but seemed to really shine with passion and strength.
”P-Please. P-Please Skywhisker, take this into consideration. StarClan loves us very much and would never give a cat anything terrible. No, they only give gifts. If you believe in Glimmerkit and treat her as the beautiful she-kit she is, before you found out about her eyesight issue, I think she may turn out to be far better than you could ever dream. Cindermoon and StarClan both wouldn’t want to see you give up hope, or stop believing in StarClan and Glimmerkit. StarClan gives us strength; they will always comfort us in our time of need. They walk side by side with us everyday, even through our hardships. When we think we are alone, we aren't, because StarClan will take on our troubles alongside us. Why do you think I chose this path as a medicine-cat? I love StarClan and being able to walk by their side, closer than other cats.
I love serving my clan like this.
I love helping you, Thunderflight, and both your kits.
I love treating the sick and in pain.
I love helping others.
I love it.
I would not be burdened by the rules we must treasure. I am determined to serve my clan as a healer, even without knowing the joys of being a mother or mate...like you. We must walk our destined paths with our heads held high, knowing that life is a trial that can be enjoyed or burdened with depending on our choices. Your kits look up to you so much, and love you, how you treat them, and everyone, affect much more than you think. Even the evilest of cats could be made just by how they grew up. So please. Please. Please believe that Glimmerkit won’t be held back by this, that she can enjoy her life in loving warmth of her clan, her family, and StarClan. That what she has is no burden, but a gift. She loves you so much, and needs you. More than any other cat, she needs you, your love and support; she needs you more than ever now. It would break my heart for her to fall like Cindermoon did when she was younger.
Cats can live to see the beauty in life, in everything they do, and truly enjoy, even without eyesight.
So…
Be strong.
Be strong for everyone.
Be strong for yourself.
I’m sure Glimmerkit would want to live to be a great cat, blindness or not, just like her mother.”
Moonblaze had always had a way with words, she wasn’t asked for advice for nothing. She really acted very intelligent beyond her years. She was determined to use what she had to help others, to love others, to live for others. Moonblaze found herself smiling despite the situation; it graced her lips with tender kindness, crystal blue eyes sparkling with StarClan’s love. Once she found her voice again, Moonblaze spoke seas of emotion with her very next words.
”Oh, Skywhisker, you were right about before.
It’s not a gift.
But, it's no burden either.
No...
It’s a blessing.╚════════════════════════════╝◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄❝Tʜᴇ MOON ᴡɪʟʟ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏs BLAZE ᴛʜʀᴏᴜɢʜ ᴛʜᴇ DARKNESS...❞

Mentor to: No one, She's raising kits. ^^ Past Apprentices: Oakpawbranch
Mate to: Burrpelt☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆ This was so weird for me. I wasn't used to blaming Starclan. If anything I was always sure of them. It felt odd being on the other side of things. I looked up from my paws when Moonblaze hissed. Scare Glimmerkit? The thought hadn't even crossed my mind. In fact I had almost forgotten she was here. I looked down at Glimmerkit and licked her ear gently. Looking up, I was met with my cousin's blue gaze. "Outside?" I echoed. But I was so caught off guard that I really didn't have much energy to argue so I stood up and followed her.
Glimmerkit looked up when Moonblaze said her name. Watch Fadinghorizon? "Kay!" She mewed and lifted her nose. Another name meant another cat was in here. So the young kit padded around until she located the she-cat. With a satisfied nod Glimmerkit sat down and proceeded to "watch" Fadinghorizon.
I followed Moonblaze on slow paws and finally sat down in front of the Medicine cat. I glanced upward and sighed. The light the sun was giving us seemed in contrast to the battle going on inside of me. A few heartbeats after Moonblaze's first few sentences I finally looked up and met my cousin's gaze. While I felt a little better when she said I hadn't done anything wrong, I couldn't help but snort when she said Glimmerkit had been given a gift.
My attention was more fully caught when she mentioned Cindermoon. I had almost forgotten her. Not in the sense that I didn't care for her, in some way I would always remember her, as every Stormclan warrior would. Though I had forgotten that she had been blind as well. In fact, if you didn't know better you would have thought that she could see as well as anyone else. I remembered admiring the pretty deputy. She had a strength that but few of us had.
At Moonblaze's plea I let out a sigh. She had a point. Besides, I had never been one to be mad at Starclan. It just never sat right in my heart. I pulled my gaze away from my cousin and looked at Glimmerkit.
Glimmerkit raced around in circles trying to grasp her tail, giggling when she got dizzy and fell down.
I couldn't help but purr at the innocence of my kit. A blessing. Maybe that's what I could tell her. I sighed again and looked back to my cousin. "Blessing..." I whispered, looking down at my paws. I would need to ponder that. But really, so far Glimmerkit had been acting like a normal kit. As far as she knew, being blind was normal. She wasn't different. Just... Okay so she was different, but not by much and I wouldn't treat her like she was different. I refused. I would treat her like every other kit. Unless it required otherwise.
I looked at Moonblaze. Where did all of her intelligence come from? I shouldn't even be allowed to ask that. My cousin was wise beyond her years. She definitely picked the right path for her. I sighed and drew a paw over my face. "So there's really nothing off? Perfectly healthy?" I asked, looking to her again wanting reassurance one more time.((Out Of Cats: ))☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆Sweet / Caring / Swift / Gentle / Kind / Terrific Hunter / Strong / Understanding / Friendly / Determined████████████████ █████████████████ ████████████████████████████████████Sisters annoy, interfere, criticize. Moonblaze’s eyes sparkled with relief and delight as her cousin seemed to except her words and move on. She regarded her kin with approving, soft crystal blues, nodding as the white queen finished the words. Moonblaze found herself slowly treading various thoughts that entered her mind. But, before getting lost in thought once again, that giddy smile had still found a way to stay plastered to the healer’s white muzzle.
I’m glad she finally understands the situation…and that StarClan would never abandon her…or the Clans… So, when this “wishing” stone comes and the prophecy is fulfilled, we won’t be alone. Our Clan will be right alongside us. StarClan will be right by our sides too, ready to fight the upcoming battles along side us!
The white medicine-cat twisted her attention to a more than energetic ginger and white she-kit as she chased her own tail, giggling and squealing like a new apprentice who caught their first piece of prey. Moonblaze chuckled lightly; her crystal gaze glittering with amusement as the said she-kit became dizzy and fell, laughing the whole time. Moonblaze couldn’t help but think back to the time she was a kit. Times had been much easier; she could just play with Thunderflight and Hawkblaze, not worrying about any troubles or anything. Ah, the life of an innocent kit. Her mind began to swirl with emotion at the mention of that tom, but she swiftly dismissed them, not wanting those…thoughts…to ruin her day. Moonblaze returned to reality when her cousin mentioned, like the worried queen would for her kits, Glimmerkit’s status of health once more. Laughing softly, Moonblaze momentarily appeared childish and unlike her normally composed self, a little bit of her more kit-like side sliding out. It was in these rare moments that cats would get a glance at the other side of Moonblaze, which was hidden away from the outside world for a long time.
”Of course she’s fine mouse-brain! I said she was as healthy as could be, didn’t I? You should have more faith in the words of a medicine-cat! Not to mention your kin!”
Moonblaze mrrowed playfully, eyes sparkling with unusual kittish joy, something she hadn’t felt in a long time. The small white she-cat frivolously cuffed her cousin around the ear before darting back into the makeshift Medicine Den, already pawing at Glimmerkit playfully, the kitten’s long ginger and white tail having contact with Moonblaze’s delicate pink nose, causing the medicine-cat to sneeze like a sick kit, multiple times, and obnoxiously. Skywhisker must be a good influence on the medicine-cat, because, for once, Moonblaze was beaming with happiness, her usual mature, calm and collected demeanor seemingly dissolved into the air, like her soft innocent laughter. ╚════════════════════════════╝◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄❝Tʜᴇ MOON ᴡɪʟʟ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏs BLAZE ᴛʜʀᴏᴜɢʜ ᴛʜᴇ DARKNESS...❞

Mate to: Burrpelt☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆ My eyes brightened when Moonblaze laughed. It was fun to see others laugh, especially if said other was kin. I loved to see my kin happy. Why she was all of a sudden so happy with a kittish type of joy I wasn't sure but I did know that having that kit of joy was fun.
I tried to duck out of the way when my cousin cuffed my ear but that didn't work as she still got me. I laughed and padded to the entrance, sitting down right inside it. It was fun to watch. Normally I would love to join in with the fun but today I was tired, having been awake for most of the night. If it wasn't my kits keeping me awake, then it was Thunderflight's. Not that I minded because really, I was happy to take care of her kits while she did her deputy duties. I shook my head and purred as I watched Moonblaze and Glimmerkit.((Out Of Cats: ))☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆☆*´¨`*☆Sweet / Caring / Swift / Gentle / Kind / Terrific Hunter / Strong / Understanding / Friendly / Determined████████████████ █████████████████ ████████████████████████████████████Sisters annoy, interfere, criticize. ◇ x GLIMMERKIT ◇◇ STORMCLAN ◇ KIT ╔══════════════════════════╗(( Out Of Candy: )) ╚══════════════════════════╝╔═══════════════════════╗ Glimmerkit giggled and got right back up onto her paws. Swaying a bit, the dizziness slowly left her and she began to chase her tail again. Only this time she got it.
"Momma! Momma I goh it!" She mewed happily around her tail.
Dropping her tail she rolled onto her back and pawed at the ceiling; only to squeak when she was pawed at. Someone to play with! Was what crossed her mind as she squealed in joy, reaching out a small paw to paw at the medicine cat.
Glimmerkit was in for a scare. When Moonblaze sneezed, more than once, the young kit flinched every time. She reached out a paw and poked Moonblaze in the nose.
"I think you got somethin' in your nose." She purred happily. ╚═══════════════════════╝

[Rising up from where he had been laying, Briskkit padded back out to his mother. The entire time she had been talking to Moonblaze, his thoughts of Amberpaw had been bothering him. Where was she? Was she.. Gone? he sighed softly, and placed himself in front of Skywisker.] "Can we talk now? Or are you still busy. Because this topic is urgent and only you can help me."[He said darkly, looking straight into his mothers blue green eyes with his own brisk green ones.] [ooc: asdfghjytrd i dunno haai o-o ]
