"I'd have died this year Sun." Emily laughed. "With my dad being gone I almost didn't come this year. My mum had to pack and everything."

"Sunrise, I know you're sick of me telling you this, but you should really look into an assisted living place. You're father would be in great hands, and you would be free to live your life. I have a feeling that that is what your mum would have wanted just like my father would want me to be here." Emily spoke softly but firmly. "It's not going to be easy Sun, but there are times in this life that you have to crawl."
(That crawling part is from a country song. I don't own it in anyway, shape, or form.)

"Yes, but she would want you to live out your life as you grow. I wasn't going to come back, but my mum did all of the shopping, and all of the packing yelling at me that it's what my dad would have wanted." Emily continued to be patient, but she was really wanting to help Sunrise understand. "I hope you don't mind, but my mum knows all about your situation Sun."

"Great, someone else to feel sorry for m--no, what am I thinking? I love your mum. I really don't mind," Sunrise cut herself off. "I'm just so confused....My dad is the only family I have, how am I supposed to just lose my family in one fell swoop?
"I couldn't do that to him, he would hate me, insanity or no. You...you do understand, don't you Emily? Imagine if you had to put one of your brothers or sisters into a home?"

"Sometimes I'm scared little Anna will be taken because she's always very ill, and we just don't have the money for all the medications she needs. We also don't have money for all the clothes everyone needs, so all of the younger sibs where hand me downs. Anna is in my old clothes, and since she's ill a lot, they drown her." Emily let one tear hit roll down her cheek, but wiped her eyes.

Sunrise's eyes widened. She'd only meant it as a hypothetical question!
"Well..." Sunrise said, trying to make her point clear. "N-now you...you see my point. If Anna didn't have to go, would you send her away anyway?"

Emily laughed. "Yes, you can handle it Sun, but it's still not healthy. I've been talking to my mum, and she also thinks it's time to let go. No matter what you chose though, I'll always be at your side as fast as my broom can go.
