As the mound of now dry hair was moved from his face, hair that wasn't as dirty or covered in sticks as it usually was, Calder opened one eye to look over to his side to catch Riley looking at him. While she didn't have a mouth to smile, her eyes said she was rather happy to see him, even playful. He wondered if she somehow had missed what had happened, and almost kidded himself to think that some gossip hadn't been spread about the incident.

Still, his mouth was pressed in a deep from, and he blinked at her a few times before his brow creased and he reached back to grab his scarf and pull it sloppily over his head. No. You haven't done anything wrong. ……. He thought back, wondering just how he was suppose to pretend nothing had happened. ………….I'm just………… He made a noise between a miserable groan and sigh.

Riley's hand returned to being fisted under her chin, as Calder wrapped his scarf over his face. Her eyebrows lifted in mock surprise, though it was lost to him.

Well, if you're sure I haven't done anything wrong. She paused, as she looked away. Her eyes settled on Amrita, twinkling softly. She gave the ghoul a friendly little wave. I suppose you're upset about something, Riley sighed in resignation, directly to Calder - and only him. I understand if you don't want to talk to me about it. I simply wanted to say hello. She left the conversation hang there, as she fell silent. She could almost feel the metaphorical hook dangling in front of him.

Julian walked back into the classroom, blissfully ignorant of some of his classmates' follies and anxious all at the same time. His date with Tahki was coming up and he had been growing increasingly more nervous as the days ticked by. But, he did his best not to show it, rather focusing on classwork during the day and leaving his fretting for the night. He did look a little... worn, probably do to poor sleeping habits.

Regardless, he was still doing his homework and going to class, so he set his page down on the pile and walked to his seat. Natalia was already there, but the seat at his left was still empty. He spared a small frown to it, as it was one of the few empty seats at the table (Dang, I must be a bit later than I thought I was...), but paid it no further mind as he took his seat.

"Hi Natalia," he said rather quietly, giving her a friendly smile. A moment later, the smile faded and he blinked at her.

"Are you all right?"

Calder was an easy catch, especially when he had no one to talk to and felt no one wanted to talk to him. For Riley to both pretend that she did not know and offer him a simple chat made him slowly turned his head about, scarf slipping to show one eye, as he thought a moment, looked to the table, and slowly reached up to slip the scarf back over his shoulders. It's not your fault. I just........got in a lot of trouble, and now I'm just dealing with a lot.

He paused, slowly setting his hands up to rest under his head like a pillow and set his head upon it, turning his head to look at her. I did something really bad and now everyone hates me. I'm so stupid. He turned his head over to press his face into his arms. You're going to hate me too once you find out. I'm sure everyone will talk about it. He sighed again. That wasn't just all of the bad parts either. Now he was restricted from water. He almost wanted to chuck his stupid misting bottle across the room, but he didn't need to appear more wild than he already made himself look like. For now, the plan was to lay low, be somber, and not do anything crazy.

Christof shifted, trying to see around the pink-clad ghoul between them to the note in Jericho's hand, catching only snippets with each anxious bob. I... something about notes.... onic? But the dragon had already put it away. Onic- chronic- what word... Did... did she think writing notes was moronic? Was she making fun of him to the dragon boil?? Face burning now, the hunchback stiffened in his seat, fingers drumming on the table as he tried to digest this secret message. His eyes wandered across the place settings, following fingers so he didn't have to look at faces... until he spotted a frustratingly familiar set of hands almost across from him, with the edge of black circle on the back of one... Colette. Since when was she in this class??

With a delicate yawn the water djinn reentered the classroom, heading first towards the desk and it's stack of papers where she happily placed her own on top. She hadn't exactly spent a substantial amount of time on the thing, but she did feel she had hit upon the important points. There were more aspects of her culture she could have covered, but the two she had selected held particular importance to her.

Homework turned in, she made her way to her assigned seat near the head o the table, though slowed as she noticed a few new faces. Familiar new faces. "Junko, Riley." Suddenly, an already appealing class seemed a whole lot better. "I thought the class was full, how id you manage to get in." She grinned, then added, "however you managed it, I'm happy to see you."

<> Jericho replied to the Mindflayer with a sense of sarcasm, <>

Frowning, he shook his head to himself before raising an eyebrow at Christof who seemed a little... stiff? Then again that could easily be because of his bad back at the moment. That and the fact that the guy had practically dove a moment ago. He still didn't know what that was all about.

She moved around and twisted a little in her seat until she was comfortable sitting in her dress. It was difficult to accomplish as she couldn't curl her legs up. Stupid thing. With a sigh, she gave up and just watched the other students filter in. One particular student had her violet gaze following him and a smirk fighting to curl her lips. Well, at least he hadn't thrown his homework away and turned in the sheet he had worked after making sure hers had been deemed 'doodled' enough to turn in. LW stuck her own tongue right back at Ren before giving him a wolfish grin. "Sleep good, darling gryphon?"

A hand was suddenly atop her head and the she-wolf froze for a minute not sure if this was the good head pat or the bad kind. The voice to flowed down to her made LW relax and she leaned back to tilt her head up and smile at the speaker. "Dear Gabrian. Course I was. You were probably just ignoring everyone last class." She winked and looked to Livi, saying hi to him. "Hello, Livi!"

Since she was knocking out her greetings, LW turned to her other side and gave her other neighbor a pat on the arm. "How are you, Christof?" She smiled warmly at him and leaned a little, features lighting up more. There was yet another person she knew sitting just on the other side of patches! LW gave a big grin and waved to Alessa. "Hiya!"

I do too. I wouldn't want you leaving in a huff again. So much anger is bad for you. You'll grow old before your time. These thoughts were sent directly to Jericho alone, but when the dragon boil gave Christof another look, Riley's eyes followed. What was wrong with Christof today? Are you all right, Christof? She inquired quietly to him. She looked a little worried.

These thoughts interrupted her from realizing Calder was about to take the bait. Almost instantly after she'd finished sending her thought to Christof, she heard a thought enter her mind that was not her own, and blinked in surprise before turning her head back to him.

Hate you? My dear boy, I seriously doubt that. Her words were gingerly wrapped in comforting, soothing waves of feeling. None of us are perfect. She smoothly lied. She, of course, was perfect - but knowing that would not help him at the moment. Why, I've been in the office twice this week. Twice! We've all gotten in trouble lately. What makes you think you are any worse than the rest of us? She reached out and patted his arm lightly. Trust me. Whatever has transpired will blow over soon enough. Some new scandal will arise to take it's place - perhaps Nukpana will streak through the school naked. Or two boils will be found acting completely uncouth in a linen closet. It never stops, in this place. I wouldn't worry too much about being the center of bad attention, if I were you.

It was just the sort of comfort he needed right now, and he gratefully gobbled it up, taking Riley's assurance that things would be fine as nothing but truth. He desperately hoped so, but for now, it didn't make things any less miserable. It just feels that everyone is going to be mad at me. I'm used to being ignored...but hated? That was certainly a new experience.

At the mention of being naked or making out in linen closets, Calder's eyes open. Wait? You can get in trouble for that too?? He sighed, slowly sitting up straight. Why don't I know these things? There should be a big list of this stuff posted somewhere. Not that 'Don't Try and Attempt Drowning Someone' shouldn't have been a given.

Rubbing his temples, he set his elbows on the table and set his hands on his cheek, staring at the misting bottle in front of him. Right now, he needed someone to open up to, and he took that friend as being Riley. Someone might take my place in taking a scene, but the worst of it is that I can't even go near water now. I don't even know what to do with myself. My whole life is water. My hair has been dry ever since. I'm not even damp. I haven't taken a swim in days! DAYS RILEY! He turned to look at her as if this was just insanity and for him, it was.

Oh no, no no no no NO! Anyone with sharp ears sitting near the door may have heard the tell-tale stomping of students rushing to their classes, desperate to cross the threshold before the bell rang. Two of those students were currently rushing into Ms. Winter's etiquette class and performed a would-have-been-simultaneous-if-they-both-counted-correctly dive and roll into class.

Merope stood up and dusted himself off, flashing those that looked his way a grin before striding confidently to his seat. It seemed as if the boil had found new threads, or at least found something unclaimed in the Lost and Found and had a sewing-savvy undead alter it for him. The poet's shirt made its return in addition to a patchwork-leathered vest with the back altered to allow his wings, complete with a bright red sash around his waist. The eyepatch over his still fleshy and humanoid eye sealed the deal: Merope was dressed up as a pirate.

Did he look at some of Ms. Winters' romance novels if she kept some? Or was he trolling his swashbuckler style as much as possible? It was true that the vest was embellished with shiny embroidery, and his silver medallion actually looked in place for once. He was short a parrot and a pegleg, though.

Either way, he came with homework.

Merope

Glory to the Lost-Fathom Leviathans
by Merope

Despite its name, the Lost-Fathom Leviathans aren't really lost. We just choose to hang out in a place that nobody goes looking for us down at the bottom of the sea. Our Territory is next to some other unsavory underwater types, but thanks to our Leader's powers and our ability to absorb and use any part we find on the ocean floor, we hold our own really well.

The LFLs (Lost-Fathom Leviathans) are the pirates of the deep. We ransack and pillage anything that comes our way with fire cold fire and burning sharks that spew burning lightsabers from their mouth, anything from dinosaurs to balls of fire to presidents volcanoes to angry bears. On cold fire.

The LFLs are a type of undead because our ability to swap in and out parts is similar to a patchwork, except we don't need to sew anything on -- we just need some salt water to meld the pieces onto us. Because of this, all LFLs look different. We can swap just about anything and everything in and out, but we prefer to keep our skulls in tact. Some LFLs do swap out skulls, but to do that they need Leader's help to make sure the personality is transferred over correctly, or else someone just lost their head. When we add a part to ourselves and later remove it, the part reverts to its normal form because it's out of the influence of our Fear. However, some appentages have a higher value than others to the point where some LFLs will attack another in order to get it. It's a sign of trust when you're willing to swap with another without wanting to attack them.

Anyway, LFLs are a clan of leviathans. Some leviathans bring their humanworld-dead kin to us for resurrection, but even if Leader does this that leviathan usually comes back to us because they can't fit in. So even though we're considered "Lost" by some, we've really just found each other because without each other, we'd probably be very lone pirates. And sad.

Idly, Merope reread his paper and frowned. He had forgotten to add in some things. Should he edit it? He began to tap his claws on the table as he thought, hoping that Ms Winters didn't mind that his paper was slightly damp. He already had to rewrite it several times due to either getting it too wet or writing too poorly to read.

Besides... where was his partner in crime?
PostPosted: Fri Jan 21, 2011 4:54 am

Coming narrowly in last place wasy Aymet, who also attempted to casually clean himself off after the crash landing just as the bell rang. Merope's outfit made him look even plainer by comparison - he'd just worn the same dress shirt as last week, wrinkled and threadbare underneath another unzipped sweatshirt.

Aymet's homework came too, barely on time. It was written in a style that could only be described as 'painful' - though anyone who got a good look at his hands could see that, even in a humanoid form, his fingers were not at all suited to pencils and pens. Despite this, helpful diagrams and illustrations were doodled around the edges of the paper, especially pertaining to the middle paragraph.

Aymet
The Majeztick Majeztic Majestic Dracolich
by AYMET

Dracoliches are undead dragons but way better than whatever kind of dragon they were before. A lot of them have cold fire, which is regular fire but cold. They can also survive things like train crashes and misplaced syths scythes falling and decatapating beheading them. Or so I heard. I have never had a syth scythe fall on me of course.

The first dracolich was probably raised from the dead on a moonless night a hundred a thousand a billion twenty thousand years ago. The skeleton would have been a big dragon skeleton in the impact crater of a meatier meteor, because dragons can only die if they die awesomely. The dracolich had to be even more awesome than that though so they welded reaper swords and syths scythes and things to its claws. Even though there was no moon there was a cool glow lighting everything up. It was actually the dragon's awesome cold fire which was made out of ghostly fire but the ghostly fire was set on fire again and then frozen. And then put in the dracolich. No one to this day can replikate duplicate this exact way to make awesome cold fire except dracoliches.

What makes dracoliches cool is that they have no weaknesses to anything ever. Especially not regular fire or having their soul falaktorry phylactery destroyed. In fact they do not have falaktorrys phylacteries at all. Falaktorrys Phylacteries are silly. If a dracolich has any kind of suspicious glowy thing on them it is probably just a fashion accessory. Should I ask Riley what my falaktorry looks like to her? no wait it's too late!

He scampered over to the table and took a seat across from Merope, though he did glance down the table a couple of times trying to look for any familiar faces.

His mistress' voice in his head, Christof slumped further, flushing hotly. She had seen him! Well... well... if she thought she could just make fun of him behind his back and then pretend innocence, she had another thing coming. He kept his mind clenched tightly, his thoughts static and as withdrawn from her as he could as he glanced from Barth to Colette and finally gave a sigh.

Fidgeting with his cravat, LW's question came as a relieving distraction from his own internalizing, and if only to spite his Mistress, he pulled out a note. Moronic or not, some people *had no choice*, thank you. On it he wrote, 'Wish class would start. And be over again,' ad then as an afterthought, remembered the Dragon's question as well and added, 'back feels better, thank you,' before sliding it LW's way.

Crossing his arms, Jericho frowned at Riley, <<What do you propose we do about my temper then? I have to vent somehow.>>

In his case, that venting usually led to violence in some form. There were still some scrapes and cuts in his knuckles from letting his frustrations out on a tree after the last class. It didn't bother him all that much as he'd heal up from that soon.

Glancing back towards Christof when Riley looked in his direction, he noticed him slumping down. The dragon figured that maybe his back was hurting him more than he had originally let on when he had asked.

One moment the seat beside her was empty, the next it was filled with a very disheveled Dracolich. She hadn't even notice him take his seat either, having been so distracted by Merope's impressive dive and roll into the classroom. And if the gymnastics hadn't caught her eyes, his attire surely would have. Granted, he was dressed up a little more then the undead beside her, though she couldn't tell if he'd been serious in his selection, or if perhaps he was doing it for kicks. She was leaning towards the latter.

Folding dark hands on the table, she leaned a little forward. "I'm not sure if Ms. Winter will appreciate the outfit, but it looks quite nice." Oddly enough, 'pirate' seemed a pretty good look for the undead leviathan. He actually managed to pull it off, with style.

The same couldn't be said for his friend though. Aymet's shirt, unless she was much mistaken, was the exact one he'd worn before. Which, on it's own wasn't bad, but she suspected it hadn't seen a washing machine, nor an iron, within the time between classed. And that sweater? She sighed, looking at him. "The same cannot be said for all, though." Reaching towards him, she plucked a stray thread from the arm of his sweater. Pursing dark lips, she stared for a moment longer before giving the dress shirt a tug, freeing some of it's wrinkles. It really did need a good ironing.

It was an invasion of personal space for sure, but the djinn had never held the same views of personal boundaries as others did.
