Brianna concentrated and blocked out their voices. She focused her eyes on a spot on the floor. It hurt to hear their pain but she managed to block them. She could feel them clawing at her wall, doing their best to pull it down.

Draka noticed she was doing well with the four spirits so he ordered two more to join the banter but instead of crying and screaming the two began beating on the barrier.

Brianna flinched a little and braced her barrier more. She was thankful its all she needed to do, instead of fighting them off.

Draka saw the flinch and wondered if it was out of being stunned by the two new spirits or her energy level was being zapped. He wasn't sure but the spirits continued the abuse they were attempting to lay down on her barrier.
Draka smiled as it maintained itself and seemed to get more rigid. He decided he would test its strength. He sent one more spirit this time it was a pale blue and it's eyes glowed with a brilliant yellow tint. She was beautiful and she was humming peacefully. She opened her mouth and at first she began singing beautifully. Lovely harmonics filled the air. But anyone who knew anything about sea lore would know exactly what she was. A siren.
Without warning her song carried to an awfully shrill pitch. The siren's song began to get louder and more terribly high. If it wasn't for his own barrier he had wrapped so close to him he was sure his ears would be bleeding. The pitch made waves in the air and it was directed straight at Brianna's barrier.

Tiny holes were poked through her barrier at first. She closed her eyes and tried to hold her wall, keep her focus. She was shaking as the minutes passed. She wasn't able to closer all the holes and after a few minutes started to bleed from her nose, eyes, and unnoticeably from her ears. Brianna was determined to beat this and hold her ground. She gritted her teeth trying to close the last few holes the sound was coming in at.

She was too late, a few of the spirits that had been beating on her barrier noticed the holes and launched themselves at them and they began tearing at the holes ripping the energy away from them trying to make the holes bigger so more sound from the siren's throat would get to her and soon render her unconscious.
Draka saw and smelled the blood, noticed her shaking but she would not get stronger if he stopped them now. Pushing her to the extreme would increase her strength farther than letting her quite when she felt fatigued and she looked resolute in her choice to defend herself so he let the onslaught continue.

Brianna could feel them tearing at her walls. She took a deep breath and mustered up a load of magic. With a small scream of her own she pushed it out, knocking back the spirits and was able to repair some of the damage but not all of it quickly. She was still working on that and trying not to pass out. She had streaks of blood running down her face and neck. Her power burst didn't help with her blood loss.
Brianna could feel the spirits attacking again. And she swore the Sirens screams were louder as if she were next to her. She was loosing the battle with all of them, but didn't want to give up.

Draka's concern became greater after her impressive burst of magic. The spirits were dazed and confused hell the siren stuttered in her song and he could see the breaks in here barrier almost gone. He knew that adding more would be torture for her but he decided to push her one last bit before he pulled back entirely and helped her.
He sent one more spirit forward and it was quite large and darkly transparent. It drifted slowly to the wall and touched it, instantly a hiss filled the air and the energy from the barrier began to slowly be abosrbed by it's hand. the siren's song began again and then the rest of the spirits finally rebounded and began beating her wall again.
She never ceased to amaze him, and the fact she had held on this long was incredible. But she was his student and he would expect nothing less then total exhaustion from her.

At that point Brianna fell to her knees. But she still tried to keep her barrier strong. But they broke in one hole after the other again and she wasn't able to fill them fast enough. She tried to knock them back but her energy was too badly depleted. The little magic she had left radiated off her, trying to keep them back. She crumpled completely to the floor, her walls completely falling and a rush of spirits headed to her as she looked up. A black haze covered her eyes as she passed out. Her heart beat low, hair smearing the blood on her face.

With a snap of his fingers the spirits disappeared through their respective portals. Some of them grinning others growling. Draka ignored them and walked up to her small form on the floor. Gently lifting her up he carried her to her bed and layed her down. He reached into a pocket and pulled out a capsule and placed it in her mouth. Draka then massaged her throat getting her to swallow it in her unconscious state.
He spoke to her and said something he wouldn't tell her if she was awake. "You are quite the impressive young one. I am glad I got to you before something much worse did."

Brianna opened her eyes slowly, looking up at him. She wasn't really awake (her brain being active and receiving information, but being unable to process it), but it seemed like she was. Her fingers twitched and touched his arm. She was exhausted beyond comprehension, and had a odd craving for blood.

The capsule Draka had given her was a huge metabolism booster. So it would increase her rate of regeneration to a much quicker pace. He watched as her eyes opened and he stared at her blank eyes seeing as how she truly was still out cold. Her hand touched his arm and he looked at her. What is it she was doing. He wasn't sure, he stared at her in confusion and wondered what the best course of action would be at the moment.

Brianna blinked and took a deeper breath then what she had been taking. She looked a little started now. "What..... what hap...happened?" She looked around a little before meeting his eyes. She was a little freaked, thinking she had woke to a hord of spirits trying to rip her apart.

As he sat there he heard her voice and could tell she was slightly hyped up from the experience. Understandable as she was probably worried about an onslaught from the spirits only minutes before. Draka put a cold hand on her cheek and spoke softly, "You defended against the spirits with all your might and you did a great job Brianna."

Brianna shivered slightly at his touch. "Was that a complement or am I still out of it?" She smiled a little. So far she really hadn't heard him say anything encouraging. But now she was tired as hell, worse then before. But she felt stronger some how. She really didn't understand how her power could expand like it was.
