Nanami placed one hand on her hip and let out a small sigh. "Maybe because it's not advertised as being one of the more exciting festivals. Still, it's nice to see everyone gather around like this," she replied with a smile, glancing around the square at the people around them. It looked like they were starting to form into groups. She liked community events like this. She broke into a grin as Crimson laughed; she imagined summer was difficult for someone like him, who wore nicer clothing on a regular basis. But he was a vet, so maybe it was just a habit that was hard to break. Every once in a while, she'd be attracted to the idea of making suits a requirement in her business. But that would be silly, and she was thankful she could wear whatever she wanted.

That's when Gemma caught her attention. "Oh, hello, Gemma," she greeted the woman with a smile. Oh, how nice, having two peers to talk to~ Like Crimson, she laughed at the mention of tattoo and festival buddies. She was so upbeat and cute. "You make it sound like we should get matching shirts or something," she joked, somewhat lamely. "Are you entering again this year, Gemma?" she asked, raising an eyebrow slightly as she noticed Crimson pat the woman's back.

One second Haruka was debating going over to talk to Raiden and his sister, the next she was settling into being by herself, and then next a girl's voice caught her attention. She nearly jumped when she saw it was Zelynity. Were they monitoring her thoughts or something? She glanced around somewhat nervously before smiling, somewhat awkwardly. "...Oh, Zelynity. Hello," she greeted her. It wasn't that she didn't want to speak to the girl, it was just... They had only really spoken at a festival a few years ago, even though they were close in age. "Oh, thank you. I'm not sure if I'll actually do well, but it's worth a shot at least," she replied sheepishly. It was embarrassing to talk about~ She paused for a moment before continuing, her smile widening into something a little less tense. "I'm actually surprised you remember my name," she admitted with a surprising lack of embarrassment. She was flattered, actually! "Are you entering, too? I haven't checked the list." She had been too embarrassed, so her mother had signed her up. This meant that she didn't know that Raiden had entered, either.

Rory and Natalia continued with their pretend sword fighting, when Rory noticed Alastair and Erika watching them and stopped. "Rory? What the hell, man, if this were real, you would totally be dead by now. Don't be so boring!" Nat chastised him, not noticing what he had noticed.

"We have an audience," he shot her a look, gesturing towards the two.

Natalia paused for a moment to look. Ahh, a kid and his sister! ...Or something like that, she didn't care enough to go through all of the options. "Indeed we do." She crossed her arms, tapping the sunflower against her chin, and nodding. She stared at the little girl for a moment, before reaching out and whacking Rory hard on the head. "Hah! Let your guard down!" she let out a triumphant cry before hurrying off, so he couldn't get her back.

Rory let out a sigh. "You're such a kid."

In a totally expected turn of events, Jacob had left to go stand awkwardly in a corner and watch Yoakim in a longing way as the man interacted with his family. How could anyone be that lucky, seriously? He had a sweet wife, two normal kids that would both most definitely turn out straight, and he was just so.. happy. Content. Yeah. Exactly what Jacob wanted – yes, he was going to admit it now, though only to himself and, on the occasions he drank, everyone in the bar. A small house, picket fence, some regular, everyman sort of job, and a hot wife to come home to~ He would have banned Kade and any f** from his lawn, but, as time went on and everyone had established him as the straightest, manliest, and best man in the area, he would have allowed Kade to walk on his side of the street when the guy needed to pass by. Hell, he may have even looked at Kade when they spoke years after! Yes, if Jacob was straight, everything would have been perfect. Just like Yoakim's life was.

But, he wasn't. Ah, the cycle of Jacob's head was meeting it's usual route of sad-face. It didn't even help when he had a sunflower handed over to him, which he dropped the moment he realized what it was.. He would work out right then to cheer him up as he normally did, but the robes were hard to clean and even more difficult to work out in. Plus, he didn't want to just start doing jumping jacks by himself in the corner of the festival. Yeah, no, that was just weird and Jacob wasn't going to make himself out to be any stranger than he already was. Staring at Yoakim from a distance was enough – oh, lord. He creased his brow as he spotted Xeiro, hanging out with his hot wife and kids. Goddess, did everyone have a hot wife and kid but him?! Not that he couldn't help it; he was a priest and all that, but.. A hand went to his forehead to press there in frustration – he would much rather go hang around someone than just stick around by his lonesome and mull

Ellie! Girl! Come over here!!

..Well, that was a nice development. Surprising, considering it was caused by Kade, of all people. Jacob looked over to the happy LeBlanc family – Ellie would probably head over there, right? Kade was saying nice stuff about her or something, according to Tess, which meant.. “Yo! Yoakim! Man!” He lifted an arm to get the guy's attention, waving it slightly while he shouted in just a little too eager of a tone for just a simple friend. What? No, he wasn't being gay, Yoakim was just an awesome guy! ..Oh, who was he kidding? He was so being gay. He just trusted Yoakim not to allow him to jump him or something like that. The guy was strong enough to prevent Jacob's gay side taking over and making him out to be a lip-gloss-wearing rapist, so, naturally, he would be happy to stand near him. It was just a.. means to protect the general public. Right. “Hanging out with the family?” He asked the obvious once he reached the guy, ignoring Ellie because, well, she was probably already walking off to Kade anyway!

~ ~ ~ ~

Ah, Kade would be having so much fun if Theresa wasn't being such a.. bummer! He frowned at his sister as she started the moment Junior had walked off, going straight to nag him about Jacob. Since when had Tess turned into such a worrier? Kade could understand, really, since she did have some points and he was feeling pretty bad when Jacob decided to walk off, but did she have to snap at him like that? She used to just shrug off everything he did and, instead, go chastise Jacob, but, recently, she had started in on him. He didn't really get why he was the only bad guy suddenly, but he decided on just nodding his head and baring with it. But, every confirmation he gave her on what she said was done airily as he went to pondering on what was up with Tess instead of the immediate 'issue'. ..Maybe she needed friends? Oh, Kade was perfect at doing that!

You said that you wouldn't and, damn it, Kade, I –

Kade lifted a hand to stop her with a nod, “Okay, okay, Tess, I got it.” Theresa frowned – nope, she probably didn't believe him. But that wasn't what Kade cared about right then. She was stressed, obviously, and it was because she had no one to hang out with! So, he would just have to introduce her to some people! Before she could open her mouth and probably restart what she was saying, he turned on his heel and shouted out across the crowds, “Ellie! Girl! Come over here!!” He waved at the woman for a second until he was sure she had heard her before looking to the next person he knew – Mitsuke! Who was she with? That cute bartender and Integra! Tess dated a bartender once and she hanged around the bar enough; they would probably be good friends too! “Mitssuuuuke!!! Over here! Bring your friends too! Let's hang!” He screamed to her next as he turned over to – aha! Ilya and Kaleb! “Kaleb! Ilya! Get your cute patooties over here!!

Was that everyone? Yep! He was just about to look over at Theresa and probably catch the look of horror on her face, which would then lead to him figuring out his mistake with that last pair, buut then Dante and Walter cried over to him! Oh! This was so fun~! He stopped midturn towards Theresa so he could swerve back around and practically jump towards the other two. Theresa could handle herself, right? Yep! “Dante! O-M-G, you look sooo pretty!!” He started to hug Dante in greeting when he noticed a peculiar thing. A flower was in his hand! A sunflower, no less! That was his favorite flower! He was happy, but.. he didn't know exactly where it came from! He had been so busy calling everyone over.. He blinked at it for a brief second before shrugging and deciding not to ask. He turned a little to face Walter instead and settle his arms around him – well, they were dating! Why wouldn't he? “Walter~! Honeydrop! I didn't know you were coming! Are you trying for King? That would be soo cool~!” Yes, it would be! Because Kade knew he was going to win this~! He had to! It wasn't fair he lost the last five tries!

Junior had been, well, doing what he usually did. Standing awkwardly alone in the middle of a crowd, feeling as though everyone was watching him when they really couldn't care less and telling himself on repeat that he should go over and say hi to the kid he vaguely knew. He saw the teachers at the festival – maybe he should say hi to them instead? They were obligated to like him until he graduated, weren't they?! Ah, but there was also that very nice man who gave him a sunflower for reasons he didn't quite understand; maybe he should go say hi to him too? Oh, he didn't know what to do! He should probably just go sit alone with Uncle Jacob until the festival was over.. He hunched over, prepared to do just that, when a voice chiming over the crowd alerted him that all hope was not lost! At first, he had assumed that that 'hello' was directed at someone else; who would want to talk to a loathsome little thing like Junior, right? It was probably better that way considering what happened last time someone showed interest in him.. But, some small hope had him glancing up and over to who he had been fretting himself over for the last few minutes.

M-me?” He squeaked out the second they met eyes, his face flushing as he realized she was looking at him. Him! She was waving him over! What did he do? Say?! He didn't know! Oh, he was making her wait! He clutched tightly onto the sunflower he held and sent a quick look around to make sure she was talking to him, but there wasn't anyone else she could be looking at! Heart thudding nervously, he scurried over to her as quick as he could so she didn't have to wait on him! He stopped a foot from her and lowered his head to face it to the ground, uncomfortable with the eye contact now that he was close. “..U-um..” He mumbled while his eyes flicked over the ground below; what did he say?! Oh. Oh, right! Flower! He cleared his throat and held the sunflower out to her, “S-some guy, um, gave it to me and.. and it's pretty – it's not pink, I know you like pink, but your hair is yellow and it's yellow and you already have one so I guess you like sunflowers too and.. ..stuff..” His mutters went from fast to slow randomly throughout his speech before cutting off altogether when he realized just how dumb it was of him to do this. But, he already had, so.. He couldn't really stop, could he?

~ ~ ~ ~

Damn right Theresa was nagging Kade! It's not that she didn't like his hobby – she found it kind of cute in a way – but, she had wanted to have a nice family outing! She had told Kade multiple times that Jacob wasn't comfortable with him in a skirt and even went on to emphasize that she really, really wanted this to go smoothly. It was just so they could all hang out together for once, enjoy themselves, and then go home happy. She told Kade that it was for Junior, but, in reality, it was more for her. She was having trouble relaxing lately which truly was an odd thing for the woman. She had been able to relax all while Kade was bitching at everyone, when mom was suspecting dad of cheating, when dad was suspecting mom of cheating, when Jacob was having relationship troubles, and even after Junior was kidnapped! She just knew how to clear her head and lay back, but, lately, she was losing that touch. When she was with Kade and Jacob, she was finding so many things wrong with them and, when she was alone, she was discovering that she was stressing over little things that shouldn't matter.

It was even worse knowing why she was in such a bad mood lately. No, it wasn't her lack of friends. She only gave Kade a flat look as he decided to start calling his clique over to him, deciding that the man was most definitely trying to avoid the subject by bringing passerby over. She was about to ask him just what the hell he was doing when a sunflower was shoved into her hands. She raised a brow and looked back at the white blur of a man that had decided to go on some flower-spree through the crowd. ..Sunflower? She shook her head at it, but a small smile had started to tug at her lips regardless. Funny how such a small thing could brighten her so.. suddenly. She was almost ready to laugh when one word had her face dropping back into horror. Kaleb. He was calling Kaleb?! Had Kade gone insane?! Of all – “What the hell, Kade?!” She tried to say to the man, but Kade had already turned away when Walter and Dante approached. She took a very deep breath and turned, the palm of her hand on her forehead while she spotted the redhead she had so stupidly overlooked when entering the festival.

So. Either she stood there and bare with Kaleb, because she knew he would probably get dragged over by Ilya or.. or do something like the idiot he was to ruin her already bad evening.. Or, she left when Kade wasn't looking. Seemed like the proper thing to do. The woman didn't say a word, only giving a quick look between forced indifference and annoyance at Kaleb before she walked right off into the crowd – and right in to some random chick she hadn't seen before. “Woah–” She grabbed onto the woman's shoulders before either of them could fall from the sudden bump, a short chuckle as she stole her eyes across the woman to make sure she was okay – barefoot? She rose a brow and looked down at the slightly shorter woman, “Sorry, but, unless I knocked your shoes off, I think we're fine.” She said with a small grin. Well, seems like fate didn't mind keeping her occupied while she avoided her ex!

Ah.. He went elsewhere. Well, Romane should have expected and, admittedly, was hoping for that. Their last meeting wasn't exactly the most pleasant and she doubted Vladimir would be willing to try again. It was better that they remain at a distance with her continued watch. It wasn't like she had been told to stop watching him, so, of course, she continued her chance meetings in study. He seemed healthy, fine, slowly getting back into interacting regularly with the other civilians. Of course, he had only gone to socialize with his employee, which could just as easily be him telling her something work-related rather than being friendly. She didn't have much of a chance to discover which was true, though, as her step towards the crowd to 'subtly' walk by and 'accidentally' overhear their conversation had been stopped by a sunflower. ..No, that was silly; a sunflower couldn't halt a woman with duty on her mind! ..Ah, but, that was what she saw being shoved inches from her face and seemingly peering at her, though it really was just a plant. She raised an eyebrow and stepped back, noticing that someone was holding onto it – which made infinitely more sense.

'Pryvet'? That sounded – ahhh, yes, the Russian. She had only just been alerted to the new foreigners in town, two of which were of Russian descent, only one being male. Of course, this was Aleksey, the owner of the orchard. Aged at twenty-five, six foot five in height, which was exactly a foot taller than her, and normally wearing a scarf, despite the weather not calling for it. She pegged it as a habit rather than anything strange, but.. none of that explained why he was hanging her a sunflower. “I do not see how sunflowers are associated with the Goddess Festival, sir.” She pointed out as she looked him over. Flushed, sweating, and breathing hard, it was probably odd that the first thing that came to Romane's mind was he was sick rather than the more obvious assumption one would associate. Cid had often appeared to have a similar ailment and – ah.. This was.. similar, wasn't it? He was much taller, yes, and looked nothing like the Chinese man, but the situation was so strangely similar that she couldn't help but soften.

..However unrelated it is, I appreciate your gift and accept it.” 'Softening', of course, meant she spoke as if she was being entrusted with a bomb that could annihilate the world rather than a simple flower. But, it was much too serious for her to take it lightly; how often did she get a present since Cid left? She cautiously took the sunflower and eyed it for a moment, but not in search of anything suspicious. She looked back up at him – he was going to leave, wasn't he? Of course, he was giving the flowers to everyone, so he would probably continue.. Unless she – no, she couldn't. Arresting him just so she – no. She would just as politely like any other. “In return, I ask that you accompany me on my patrol or I will be forced to take further measures to assure you will obey my request.” That sounded friendly, didn't it? Of course it did.

Finnian had been standing inside the crowd, trying to look as inconspicuous as he could in practice, when a man suddenly ran by and shoved a sunflower in his hand – look at his speed! His eyes widened and he watched the other fly right on by in amazement! Could it be..? Was that a hidden superhero coming over to the island to form the league of justice just as Finnian had intended to do?! ..Or was he a villain trying to stop it before it could possibly happen?! Oh, he didn't know, but the sunflower smelled nice! He looked at it curiously for a moment, wondering if, perhaps, he could eat it and be infused with sunflower-associated abilities and, then, if he would even want to have a sunflower associated ability. He would have to change his whole costume then..! Nope, he was just going to have to find something much more inspiring to mutate him with super abilities than a sunflower. So, he was ready to throw the flower away when someone caught his eyes – specifically because they wouldn't catch anyone's eyes!

A man standing quietly in glasses, holding two sunflowers, and seeming so.. boring.. dull.. so.. so hidden! His eyes sparkled as he stared at the man. That sunflower man revealing his abilities as he was in public most definitely was a villain, now that he thought of it, because he wasn't even trying to hide himself – but, the dull individual over there~ Now, that was a hero! He started to bound in his superhero-walk, but stopped after his first hop when he realized he was supposed to be Finnian Buckley, boring everyman! So, he walked calmly over to the fellow hidden superhero and grinned at only half of his usual charm, “Hello, fellow regular man! As you can see, I am too a regular man living a regular life with regular things – like this pen!” He took one of the cheap pens he had from his pocket and showed it to him happily, “Regular, is it not?” Ah, Finnian was sure to impress the hidden superhero with his acting talent!

Bela responded to Xeiro's smile with a cool look of indifference, she just wasn't in the mood to allow his boyish smiles to change her mind. And then he said that, which made her mask fall into a look of total despair, even as he smacked her butt. She hated exercise, even though she knew it was to her own benefit; her a** looked huge. If she wasn't so bushed, she'd order some nice pole thing that was announced on TV with some DVD to get back in shape and look sexy while doing it. Oh please, as if you people didn't expect her to resort to this. She just never got around to it, and aside from that, it was gonna be rather hard to tell the shipping and ordering people where the hell Nirvani, the island, was. (She was luckier on that particular situation with some trial run for some solution with getting rid of those pesky stretchmarks, Mao was quite invaluable in that end.)

What she wondered is if Xeiro would be okay having a pole somewhere in the house, with a DVD to learn these moves that even Beatrice could see if she wished. Aside from that, what if the GIRLS saw it when they were older? Oh, Lord. Bela wouldn't mind it as much as Xeiro with his precious Ryder, since he pretty much already saw how things were gonna play out as she grew up. Bela was liberal about the girls' attire, opting to let them express themselves instead of rebelling, but Xeiro looks the type to be an overprotective dad for Ryder. Lyra was safe all around, Bela thought. Lucky her.

This all passed thorugh her head in a matter of seconds, and thus Xeiro wouldn't notice any difference. "I hate jogging," She said softly, turning her head away. Even with Carnation's gift two years back, she just didn't like it. It got her all sweaty and gross. Conversely, she didn't mind it about Xeiro; until he started to stink of sweat, that is. At least Xeiro would be there to encourage her. She was terrible when she was alone, stopping for breaks more often than not. The first time was the worst of all, however:

"You weren't the one who's had two different needles stuck into you're spine to push out our two little 'bundles of joy' on two different occasions, were you?"
"You mean, bundle, right? Whatever. Besides, you BEGGED for those shots!"
"I never said it didn't hurt!"

Ah, banter between a bickering couple. Wasn't that always the best banter between them? In any case, they had a very good night's sleep that night.

Back to now, where Bela's posture now slumped forward. This s**t sucked! "At least you won't drag Mitsuke along for that endeavour." She bit out, her eyes glaring the other way at nothing in particular. Bela, and Mitsuke, too, were very vocal about their generally boiled over dislike for eath other. At least Beatrice agreed with her that Mitsuke was a b***h.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryder wondered why Mommy never brought them more often, this place, because she simply thought the house was one place and everything else was another place in it's entirety, was amazing! What a smart, yet mistaken, little baby she was. She could hear Mitsuke talking in her usual mean voice, although the meanest was always saved for Mommy, but diregarded her. Everything else was more interesting than her drunk a** anytime. And she had her keys! Her body lurched forward the tiniest bit when the stroller came to a stop in front of something; a bench. And wondered what it was. It looked so... plain.

Aunty B seemed to materialize in front of her and this made her kick happily and smile, aving her arms up and down. Aunty B was so nice! She let out a little giggle and other little baby sounds, they didn't really mean anything, though. Not even in baby talk. Ryder, as a younger sibling would, imitated Lyra's more quiet and subdued nature when it came to speaking. If only she knew how much a b***h she, Ryder, would grow up to be. Ah, Blissful ignorance~~~

Beatrice took Ryder's treasure, right then. This would usually upset her, had it been anyone else other than Daddy, Mommy or Aunty B. As she reached up for it, letting out small little noises. "Ahh, ahh!" which pretty much was, "Gimme, gimme!" in baby talk. Beatrice was nice, though. She let some of the keys in her reach and who wouldn't be grateful to have such a cool aunt?

Gemma was glad to have such a warm welcome, with laughs and pats to the back. She didn't mind, any interaction was better than none. At Nanami's suggestion her mouth fell open into a little o for a moment, before a wider grin replaced it. "We totally should!" Gemma shook her head, taking the joke a little too literally. Oh, Gemma, you and your bad social skills. "I don't know how we'd get them," She shrugged, "But we totally should!" She looked like a child that was about to go on a rollercoaster ride for the first time, a scary/exciting one, like Space Mountain. She'd have to look into where she could get someone to design a shirt for them. It would be fairly easy, she imagined. In fact, it was best that Nanami mention it, because she's the artist of the group, right? Once she found out about where to do it, she'd get back to her on that. Gemma always was a little gullible and took most of everything a little too seriously.

But then she came around to the idea of being the Harvest Goddess for this festival, as if she were anything like a Goddess. Small and plain as she was. "Of course, the kids want to have a 'cool' teacher who wins things and they can be proud of. And how can I say 'no' to their little pouty faces? Besides, they said they'd try extra hard in their studies if I win." She said happily, and nobody could miss the playful smile. "You really should try it, considering that you can advertise your parlor as being 'blessed' by the Harvest Goddess, get it?" She leaned forward to playfully elbow Nanami in the side, giving her an over-the-top wink. "Eh, eh?" What an child. Gemma didn't bother to ask about Haruka, because the girl seemed stubborn on staying in the background. Pretty as she was becoming and all. "I can count on your guy's votes, though, right?" She asked, flashing both a real smile. She counted on their votes, so why wouldn't she ask? She counted on some parents to vote for her, too. But, like she thought before, she didn't mind if she lost. It was for the kids, after all! As if she would bother about a title and some date which she could care less about. She'd rather spend the night at home watching a good movie with Matthew or even by herself.

It didn't take long for the man to give his lighter over to Reed. And it took even less for Reed to light his cigarette. He took one long drag on it while giving back Raiden his lighter. Afterward he exhaled with his eyes closed, then took in a breath with his nose. "Nothing like a good drag to calm ya' down eh?" He said as he flicked the ash off the smoke. Smoking really was the easiest way to calm Reed down. He took one last look over to where his daughter and cousin wandered off to, then looked back to the man in front of him. It didn't seem like he had to watch the kids anymore, so a little idle chit chat didn't seem so bad. He took one more drag and exhaled, leaving the cigarette in his mouth.

"Reed" He introduced himself when Raiden did. He held out his hand for a handshake. The ultimate sign of a meeting between men. With his other hand he took the cigarette from his mouth and once again flicked off some ash, "I just moved in about a week ago." It has been a rough week at that. But oh well, things seemed to have been winding down as of late. And there was no reason to dread over the past when there was a festival present. Plus he didn't want to bore the guy in front of him with such a thing. What guy wants to listen to another guy talk about how bad there week was? "I'm guessing your from around here then?" He asked, though he knew the answer. Small talk you know?

While the guardian of the Page family went over to smoke, the more immature duo had found something to entertain themselves with. Alt became disappointed when the male of the fighting duo ceased. Why stop a show midway? It was such a let down. Things picked up again when the girl made her move though. When the female of the group locked eyes with Erika, who was scared at first, and hit the boy with the flower, Erika giggled.

Alt found it quite enjoyable as well, but held himself from laughing. It wasn't mature! And he had to set a good example for the young one. Which is why when the boy made the comment about the girl being a kid, it filled Alt with some strange pride. With a small rise of his chest, and a bit of a huff, Alt took on a seemingly more confident posture. "That's right it is childish" He spoke as if announcing something to the three. And with a very boastful smirk he continued. He pointed to the boy with his hand on his hip. A stance fitting of saying something important! "It's childish for you to have let your guard down," Of course Alt was missing the point of pretend sword fighting being a child's game... But oh well, no one could really say what went on in his head.

"Oh thank you, but you look better Kathie. Are you going to try for the Harvest Goddess?! You totally should you'll wi-" Dante said as he was shoved off for Walter! WALTER! What the hell?! Dante shut his trap and glared at Walter. Friend stealing Walter. Of course the Drag twin had yet to spot Raiden in the crowd of people.

"I decided at the last minute love. But no, im not trying for King, ol gal." Walter said with a smile as he wrapped a arm around Kade's waist and looked over his cute outfit. "You look rather beautiful like this you know? I dont think ive seen you dressed up like this. I rather like it, ol gal." Walter said with a sensual smile. He leaned in after removing the cigarette from his lips, and captured Kade's lips with his own. Breaking the kiss he looked around for the tall Russian fellow handing out the sunflowers. "No love, we decided to nominate him. Giving out flowers like a sweetheart." Walter said with a smile, as he pointed the man out.
____

"Hey Mitsuke."
Integra said with a smile. Hey she had nothing against the girl. Did she maybe drink a bit much, yes. But then again that was nothing new in her department of odd friends. Honestly.. just look around. One was into Drag, his brother while truly a gentle guy looked like he could be Dracula himself, Hans was an alcoholic, his niece.. well she was boring at times aside from the accent, Pip was too love struck to be concerned with anything BUT Alice and their coming baby and then there was Walter the butler who liked men in drag. Yeah.. they were all ******** weird. "How have things been? You liking the Grindhouse?" Integra asked Mitsuke. Ah good work buddies hooking up to talk at a festival.
________

Aleksey was still catching his breath as Romane spoke to him. What did she remind him of? Her stoical nature, her logical way of speaking. "Oh! You reminding me of Winter in Russia." He said with a smile as he finished his inner thought aloud. He nodded to her, as she accepted his gift and raised an eyebrow momentarily as she asked him to accompany her on patrol. And he had to obey, oh but that's what Russia was all about! Obeying and giving up your freedom and such for communism.

"Oh? You wanting comrade to accompanying you on, making sure people obey ruler?"
Aleksey said with a smile. "Okay i can be doing that. but- oh.." Aleksey frowned as he looked around. Not everyone had a flower! Why where there so many people?!?! Aleksey looked back to Romane and smiled, the frog on his shoulder gave a large CROOOOAaAAAK before it hopped off his shoulder and onto the ground.

"But on way i be giving flowers to people who not having them. I wanting to share what making me happy. Sunflowers maked me happy."
Aleksey said, his grammar was so bad, but his cheerful smile made him so adorable and trusting. He joined the Officers side and waited for her to start walking before he followed along with her.

❀ ❀ ❀ || She was dead set on thinking people were staring at her, and secretly laughing about her. It was quite the opposite, however. She was a fly hidden amungst billions of other flies. She turned, not looking in what direction she'd be going, knowing only that 'her' bench was in said direction.
This caused her to bump into a woman, though neither fell because of the woman's quick thinking to grab Avikna's shoulders, Avikna had let go of her flower to lift her own hands, gripping the femme's under arm. "Woo!" The noise that came from Avikna's mouth came at the same time the other's did. After a moment of silence, and getting themselves stable, the femme who she'd bumped into (Which was actually 5o/5o) began to speak.
Avikna followed her eyes down to her feet, leaning back slightly to lift up her toes from the ground. "Oh no..." She chuckled. "I hardly ever wear shoes, only on really cold days.... like rainy days or winter." Adjusting her purse, she looked down seeing the Sunflower she'd dropped. Bending down, she picked the flower back up, intentivly brushing the flower's pedals. Mear seconds past until she looked back up to the other woman. "I'm Avikna by the way." She held out a hand, believing that was the way most people greeted eachother. She wasn't into bowing like her grandmother, who often switched between the two. "Sorry about bumping into you." She continued, a small smile painting itself across her light beige face.

After their conversation ended, Usagi decided that it was time for her to wonder around. She still didn't know too many people in Nirvani, and it didn't help that she wasn't around all that often anymore. She looked around for a bit, as she tried to find someone she could approach.

"Yeah you," Mitsukai replied to him with a giggle. There wasn't anyone else around that she could have been talking to after all, silly Junior. She smiled as he held the sunflower out towards her, "Thank you!" she said happily as she took it from his hand. "It's still pretty, even though it's not pink," she told him.

Although she hadn't been there all that long Amaya was already beginning to get bored. She looked around a bit before finding a bench to sit on. She contemplated leaving but decided she would stay a bit longer.

"Thank you" replied Alice as a flower was given to her. When was she ever given a flower? Aside from Pip of course... Probably since middle school... it was odd... but sweet. The man seemed determined to give it to just about everyone. Good for him. Alice continued to walk around the festival, taking a moment to glance down at her stomach. It hadn't grown that much actually, even if she was a little more than halfway there. Lucky her for her size, but it made her take a breath and let it out. So much to do... so much to still think about...

Did someone just call her-Oh, Vlad. The young woman smiled and began to head their way. But not before being stopped to get a flower. She... stared at it for a moment, before simply holding it and continuing off to Vlad. "Vlad. How are you?" she asked once she neared him. The store had been as busy as usual, but they hadn't sat down to talk in a while, which she honestly really missed. She'd blame the cop... though. "Decided to come to this festival huh?"

Well if it wasn't their friends? Kaleb's muttering stopped, and the male seemed to be in better mood just by the sight of them, and the flower given... Odd... "Walter, Dante. Hey there you two." And off they went. He couldn't help but to chuckle at what they were up to before his eyes noticed a familiar brunette dashing off and talking with another female. "..." Right after that moment of silence the man was directing his attention somewhere else, even it if was that big tree in the corner. Yeah. Tree.

Wasn't that sweet? Ilya smiled and thanked the male as he left, tucking the flower in her hair. "Dante! How are you hun? And you Walter?" greeted Ilya quite happy to see her friends. At least Kaleb cooled off. "Hun!" That caused a hug from Ilya to Kade for a bit before letting him go. "Well isn't nice to have everyone here-" Uh oh... Was Kaleb? Yes he was... "Ignore MacGrumps over here. How's everyone been?"

Who would've thought a few of the circus decided to go out tonight? Go figure. Lucia moved around, that little flash of white hood going around, taking in the whole event. It sounded fun, but now she just needed to socialize, as they said. And the big man handing out flowers certainly caught her attention, so off she was following him and the officer with him.

Tate colored up a little at Integra's comment about his drawl. "I hadn't re-'lized it was a strong accent ma'am." He nodded at Hans, Dante, and Pip in greeting and put a hand out to shake with Walter. "'Lo there. Sorry to have taken the job from you, but I'm likin' it so far. Nothin' too crazy." When handed a sunflower he just looked at the man for a moment or two wondering what in the world he was supposed to do with it. Remembering it was Amanda's favorite he decided to go rescue her and walk her over to meet his co-workers. "'Scuse me a moment ya'all, have to go rescue my lady." Tipping his hat at Integra, since she was the only lady present, he meandered over and pulled Amanda away from Gladace and handed her his sunflower. Smiling she hugged him and they walked back over towards the Grindhouse group in a huggy walk. (I don't know how else to describe it C: ) once back over there he made quick introductions, "'Manda the ladies here are Ms Integra and Ms Mitsuke, then it's Pip, Hans, Dante, and Walter. Nice people." As a man of usually few words he scratched his neck akwardly in the in between moments. Smmiling at Tate's cute akwardness she smiled at the people around and greeted them all.

"Strong enough but dont worry its nothing bad. Im used to accents with these three." Integra said with a laugh as he she pointed to Pip- the Frenchman, Walter -the Brit and Hans- The German. She nodded as Tate left to go rescue his girlfriend. When he brought her back over only to introduce everyone, Integra was the only real one to smile and wave in greeting. "Nice to meet you."

Pip gave up looking for Alice and looked over to Tate and Amanda. "Bonjour Mademoiselle." He said with a smile. "She is your girlfriend? Or somet'ing more, Monsieur Tate?" Pip asked gently with a smile as he looked between Amanda and Tate.

"They make a sweet couple dont they?" Integra said with a smile to Pip.

"Oui." Pip said gently.
_____

"Hi sweeties! Ive been pretty good. Vlad not so much, dont ask him about the Cops." Dante said to Ilya as he gave her a hug.

"Ive been tip top Ma'am." Walter said with a smile to Ilya. He then looked to Kaleb. "Hello ol chap. Whats got you all in a tizzy?" Walter asked Kaleb gently. His arms still around Kade-Kathie. Such an odd bunch of friends they were.
_

"Yes i did. And I could be better." Vlad siad gently to Camelia. He reached over and brushed a hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear, momentarily letting his figners grace the skin on her neck. He still looked at her in that gentle almost fatherly way. But at the same time, Vlad was reaching his limit. If his past was brought up anymore lately he was going to snap entirely. And he didnt want that. He didnt want to give Romane an excuse to arrest him and basically prove that she was right all along. So he knew he needed to get back to how he used to be, before the kidnapping. That meant tagging as much a** as possible to .. well as the saying goes. ******** the pain away. And Camelia would be a good canidate to break that 2 year span void of libido.

"What about you Camelia?"

Yuuto had just been standing there, holding his sister and niece's sunflowers, and gradually getting lost in his thoughts. He could never remember what it was like in his head. Mostly grayness. Yes, even in the deepest depths of his imagination, the only son of the Koyama family was boring and uninteresting. But this was what he always did when he was dragged along to these festivals. He showed up out of obligation and Kokoro's guilt, but he failed to impress his creator so much that typing up an introduction was good enough for her, and so he was usually left alone to dwell in his thoughts. That's why it startled him when someone came over and greeted him. It wasn't a student, or an acquaintance of Nanami's. It was... a stranger!

"...Oh, hello," he greeted Finnian after glancing around, to make sure that he really was talking to him. About a pen. A pen? Yuuto's eyebrows furrowed together as he looked at the pen. "It's just a pen. Really, just a pen," he looked at the man out of confusion, but it just sounded like he was confirming the pen's regularness.

Rory dealt with Natalia's stupidity a lot, but he couldn't help but flash Alastair a confused look. Childish? No one said anything about childish. He had called her a kid, but that had nothing to do with himself! "'Childish'? What are you talking about? That makes no sen--oof!" He hadn't gotten a chance to finish what he was saying, because Natalia soon jabbed the thick stem of the sunflower into her friend's stomach.

"Childish or not, you're dead now, Rory!" she said with a smile, snatching the sunflower out of his hands. After glancing at the two observers, she took a step forward and shoved Rory's sunflower into Alt's hands. "Okay, kid, you're up next!" She never got to switch opponents! Rory would just come back to life. And how fun was that supposed to be?

Ha! Walter called him cute~! Kade smiled widely at the remark, cheerful to know that at least someone wasn't going to be such a drag over it. He let his eyes wander off to where Jacob presumably was at to give him a most likely unseen grin, but soon found his brother consorting with he-who-must-not-be-named, which put him off the radar and totally 'nonexistent' until Jacob was done. So, instead, Kade looked back at Walter as the man lowered his head to have their lips meet, a small giggle at the sudden affection before he returned it to the man, even swiping his tongue out playfully at the other's lips just before they broke. He followed the other's eyes before Walter had a chance at pointing, spotting the 'sweetheart' Walter referred to. “How sweet~!” He agreed before looking back at the man with a pout in his voice, “But, shoot, I thought we could try together..” He shrugged; oh, well, Kade should have called Walter or, at the very least, texted him if he really wanted to do that.

At the sound of approaching footsteps, he swiveling around, keeping close to Walter, but still breaking contact as he greeted Ilya and Kaleb. He laughed when the woman greeted him so energetically, giving her a squeeze in return while he spoke, “Darling! You look so pretty today~! Hey, there, Kaleb, I haven't seen you in forever, not since – ” He paused, eyes widening a fraction as realization dawned on him. Did he call–? Oh, shoot, stupid! He was already prepared to give an apologetic look veering towards kicked-puppy in flavor when he noticed Theresa had already left. ..Well. Looks like problem solved! He smiled again at Kaleb, but noticed that it was too late to save the redhead's mood. He rolled his eyes and went back to Walter, leaning against him comfortably. It was tempting to speak up for Kaleb at the man's question, buut.. He knew better than to trust himself not to be at least a little miffed on his sister's part with the man, however much he liked Kaleb.

~ ~ ~ ~

...She.. she took it! Yes! Victory! They were now best friends forever, right?! ..Could he have another best friend forever? He would have to ask dad that, but, he knew that Mitsukai had just guaranteed she was at least a friend by accepting his gift! Junior wasn't sure what to say as a result of it and, oddly enough, he was near tears by how nice Mitsukai was being. Molly was always mean to him whenever he tried to do something nice for her and Angelina.. well, he couldn't see Angelina that often anymore.. Mitsukai, though! She was all over town! He saw her at the playground at times and she even was in his class! He had a small smile as he flicked his eyes from the ground up to her a few times, fiddling with his jacket nervously, “Y-yeah, I.. um.. Th–.. Thanks, Mitsukai..” He managed to mumble out. He doubted that she liked it as much as a pink flower, but.. she was still trying to save his feelings, which meant she thought he was worth it! At least a little, right? “S-so, why are you here?” That was the best thing to ask, right? Right? Oh, where was that chicken when he needed assurance?!

~ ~ ~ ~

'Woo'? Theresa couldn't help a small chuckle at that. The woman was pretty cute, actually, to make up for the oddity of avoiding shoes like that. Theresa happened to like wearing her sneakers and boots when she could, so the idea of walking around outside without them, let alone prefer it, baffled her. But, after a quick study of the smaller's, the woman had a nice charm to her to make up for it. Good, at least she wasn't caught talking to some weirdo like Gemma.. Don't get Theresa wrong; she didn't mind the elementary school teacher and actually found her quirkiness amusing, but talking to her one on one without at least Matthew to level out the strange? Yeah, she would leave that for other's to handle. “Well, you must save a ton on shoes that way.” She said jokingly as a hand slid comfortably onto her own hip, “Theresa. Or Tess.” Sounded less fancy, didn't it? “Avikna.. I don't think I've ever heard that one before.” And Theresa had met quite a few people during her previous line of work. But, it wasn't a bad name; she sorta liked it. “No problem. Are you new here? It's kind of hard to meet a stranger in a small place like this, after all.” Unless she was hiding out in the woods, she doubted that Avikna could have been on Nirvani for very long.

~ ~ ~ ~

..Winter. In Russia. Romane stared at him for an expressionless moment as she wondered on just how she was to respond to that. Was it a compliment? Most people didn't seem very fond of winter, considering that prices on local fruit and vegetables went up as a result of the cold season and imports were a bit more difficult to come by as most sailors decided Nirvani was too out of the way to got to.. Not to mention the snowstorms that happened every so often, icy cold waters, and just the general uncomfortableness it brought.. No, it couldn't be a compliment. But, he was smiling at her in a most confusing way. She would have thought further on how he expected her to reply when a large croak had her attention brought to a.. frog.. How long had that been there? She couldn't stop her brow from creasing in even more confusion as it simply hopped away. Did he notice? Should she point it out or..?

Ah, I apologize, however, if it concerns you, it appears your companion has.. departed from your shoulder.” She looked off to where the animal had decided to venture off to, a frown tugging at her lips. It wasn't that she really cared on the well being of a frog, but the idea that someone could call in the police station to search for such a small missing pet later sounded more tedious and annoying than it was worth. While she was pointing things out.. She returned her eyes to him, “It would also have been phrased, 'I enjoy sunflowers' rather than the uncomfortable way you stated it.” At least Cid was correct in how he spoke, albeit long winded and perhaps a bit odd in his choice of words! She just hadn't heard anyone speak like that, not since she corrected Rune on their few meetings. ..Was that woman approaching them? Lucia Woods, came in last year with the circus? She didn't have anything astounding on her record, but.. One can never be too careful. She turned and motioned for Aleksey to follow as she started again on her usual route circling the festival.

~ ~ ~ ~

Looking around like that.. Was he searching for someone? Ah!! He knew it! Finnian was right; he must have a sidekick or.. fellow supers in the area! He knew this was a better lead than that super dentist in the U.S.! He felt his chest swell up with such a pride that it could only be called superior to that of other prideful-chest-swellings – as in, it was super pride! But, he was ordinary Finnian Buckley today, so he calmed such feelings and only gave a knowing smile at the 'regular' man. Really, he seemed to have mastered the technique of appearing dull and boring so well that Finnian was tempted to ask for tips! It was so hard for supers like them to mask themselves.. He held the pen up even hirer and laughed, “Indeed! It is just a pen! Perfectly boring, just like us! Don't you agree?” He raised both brows in prompt, edging closer to the man as he waited for the answer to his query. This would be the answer he needed to confirm what he suspected! He let his glasses slide down the bridge of his nose just enough so he could stare up at the other in expectancy. He already knew it must be true, but, every hero knew that caution was best taken in these situations.

Tate laughed at Integra's comment about accents. "True, I guess there accents are 'stronger. They ain't that hard to understand though. Maybe I'm jus' a understandin' guy." With Integra's sweet smile and greeting Amanda already liked the woman. "It's nice to meet you as well. Tate doesn't talk much about work, so it's nice to combine a face and name together finally. Hello again there Pip, I don't know if you remember me. We've spoken a few times before about my bike when I would come up to the Grindhouse for a special occasion." At Pip's question both Amanda and Tate blushed. Since Amanda wasn't exactly sure what they were she left that question to Tate. Chicken way out? Yes. But I don't want to think we're something that we arn't.. Tate fumbled for an answer and didn't have a clue what to say. I don't talk about this stuff and I don't want to hurt 'Manda's feelins' damnit what are we?! Colored up he answered Pip, "She's my girl, that's for sure." Cop out answer. Amanda thought frustrated. Aghhhhhh! Leaning over some Tate kissed Amanda's head oblivious to her obvious frustration. Neither of them heard Integra and Pip's conversation about them as a couple.

Camelia had been looking up at the male once he spoke, honestly caught a little off guard by his movements. It was something so simple, but it felt so... The girl shuddered ever so slightly at the touch on her neck, before nodding. "Ah... Well I've been good. Nothing really worth mentioning" she told the male with a small smile. Except for the fact she was finding it difficult to stay calm when she was near Vlad. Just a minuscule fact. "So... Everything all right? With you?" By now, Camelia had hidden away her hands behind her back, shuffling to the sides just a bit.

"...Nothing..." replied Kaleb quickly enough to get a look from Ilya. He looked around for a moment before shrugging. "I'm... going to go vote..." Yeah... and maybe watch someone...

The woman had grinned proudly at his compliment, but it had diminished at the redhead's reaction. Ilya couldn't help but let out a half-laugh. She looked at Walter and shook her head. "He's just being an idiot after breaking up with his girlfriend. Why he did that, even I'm still trying to figure out" replied Ilya, tilting her head to the sides. Her gaze caught attention of Vlad's and raised an eyebrow. "I dunno Dante, he seems to be doing just fine to me..."

"Ol gal if you wanted for us to be King and Queen you should have called." Walter said with a shake of his head. He looked to Kaleb as he left, so the man had broken up with his girl, only to be broken up about it? "Sounds like all the ol chap needs is to smooth things over with his sweetheart. You are right Ilya, last i knew they had been doing alright. Maybe i can pry it out of him over a few drinks sometime. It seems like he needs the company anyways." Walter said with a light smile.

"Wait what?" Dante said as he spun his head around and looked to Vlad and Camelia. Oh.. oh that hound! That.. no wait. This was a good thing! Dante smiled and turned back to Ilya. "Nevermind your right he's fine. Lets go vote!~" He said as he hooked arms with Ilya and led her off to the voting area. Walter followed with Kathie.
_

Vlad dropped his gaze for a moment before returning it to Camelia's and smirking lightly. He bit his lip in thought, he wanted to try something with her. Break the cycle he was in and he knew only one way to do that. And Camelia, he trusted, she was safe much like Dante. But it wasnt the same when he screwed a man than with a woman. It was more meaningful with a woman, and he wanted that just for one night.

"After we vote Sweetheart do you want to get out of here and head to my place for some drinks and maybe a movie?" Vlad asked her, ignoring her question a bit. There wasnt much to say. That he hadnt said already about his current state of being lately. He also used a nickname he gave to most women that caught his eye, a subtle hint that this was more than what it seemed.
_

"My Comrade?" Aleksey raised an eyebrow before he looked to his shoulder and then the other shoulder. What had been there? He stared off at the sky for a long moment in perplexed thought before it occurred to him when they resumed walking. "OH!" He exclaimed. "The frog. No he not mine. He was just curious frog to be following me here. I tried to put him back in ponds but he keeping followed. So i put him on shoulder so he not having to walk so much." Aleksey said with a smile. "He find his way back to river soon." Aleksey said gently to Romane. He then thought about her phrase, or rather how she said things. "I enjoy sunflower? Ah, that does sounding better. Sorry, English was hard to learned. The way which English put things is hard to decipher order and meaning." Aleksey said with a light laugh of embarrassment as he blushed lightly.

When Romane went to vote, Aleksey stared at her curiously. "What do you? Thats my name? Why am i being there?" He asked innocently. "I write my name, and.. oh! That girl i know, meeting her today i did." Aleksey said as he pointed Avikna's name out. He wrote that on a piece of paper and his own on a piece of paper and put it in the box everyone else was. He turned to Romane and smiled awkwardly.

"I no not what that for. But it was fun. What they do with box and names on papers?" Aleksey asked, coming from Russia, a voting system was something incredibly foreign.
__

"O' I remember you now Mademoiselle. T'e bike, right. Eet is a nice one. I 'ave to say im jealous of eet."
Pip said with a smile.

Integra shook her head at the two, so they didnt really have details worked out. It didnt matter. They were still cute together. "Come on you two, lets get this voting thing over with." Integra said as she led the way.
