Misty sighed and finally moved her arms out from around her stomach to hug him. It had been quite a while since she'd been held...and right now it felt good.
"It's...just my luck I suppose. When I moved to New York in my own world I could never keep an apartment. People would find out what I looked like under my mask, and they'd either bust my place up or destroy it completely. And then there's the whole getting kidnapped thing..." she sighed.

C.J. looked at her when she hugged him. Well, I guess it's time to be the rock she needs right now. he thought.
He looked down in her eyes. "Never know . . . my pa once taught me even if things got their worst, there was always a chance to turn it around." he said. He seemed somewhat hopeful. He paused in thought.
"Right now, I'm just glad you're safe . . ."

Misty smiled a bit and looked up at him. "Thanks...by the way. I don't remember if I thanked you for taking me to the hospital, but you definitely deserve a thanks after all that."

C.J. smiled back. "Just was doing the right thing, hon." he said, a closer listen would reveal the sincerity in his voice (and a warm backcountry drawl some Marylanders have) as he held her.
Sure was fun doing it, too. he thought.
Well, given the chance would you do it again?
"He-e-e-e-e-e-ll naw!"

"Well, writers . . . Permission to go steady with Misty? For real this time?"
Hey, I got no quarrel with it, cowboy. After all, you saved her . . . I just typed it up between fishing trips! Just be a gentleman, don't screw up whatcha gotta say, and if you break her heart, I'll come down from this wall and break ya face! Understand, Benoit?

It's alright with me. Might depend on her though. Girl has issues. And I'm multi-tasking so sorry if this takes long...
Misty just looked up at him and smiled. It was all she could think to do right now. She couldn't think of anything else to say....and she really didn't want to move anywhere.

C.J. smiled back, holding her close. His mind however, had to think over his next move. His mind swirling, his stomach felt twisted in a granny knot . . . but the only way he could get it undone is if he had what was on his mind on the table . . . but HOW?

True enough...
Misty just kept staring up at him. It looked as though he had something he wanted to say, but-
Then she winced suddenly and curled forward as pain shot through her stomach again. "Mmnh....sorry...I was okay a minute ago..."

C.J. sprang into action as he held her up. "It's fine hon. I would say let's go to the hospital, but after last time, we'd better find a better way." he said, when his hand brushed her stomach . . .
he felt a nice little kick.
Well, glad THEY made it. I got no idea how I'm gonna be a dad, but I guess I'll find out! he thought.

"Y-yeah....not sure who or what though...I...we could try and find Warp. He could set something right here. But...I don't know where he's at right now. Or any of the Lanterns that offered to help me. I'm....supposed to be helping with something in Gotham...but I think there are enough heroes there now to help." she said, leaning on him for support.

"Does he have a number? Maybe I can call Warp, figure out where he is." he offered. Of course, he didn't know Warp for beans, but if Misty recommended him, then he was better than those quacks that nearly got them killed.

"Well...not much to do about it if he isn't." Misty replied with a small grin. After a moment, the pain subsided and she stood up straight again. Though she made no move to get out of his embrace.
