Spinning in the air, Nalani lands with cat-like grace on the sand, quite far from where she was standing originally. Surprised with the man's strength, she was a bit concerned about the situation now.
"What do you want from me!?" She shouted down the beach. "I don't understand! If you just tell me, I might be able to do SOMETHING for you, I really don't like you throwing me down the beach like a ragdoll!" She stood up again, hands gripping her swords. She moved closer to the ocean, just in case she had to make a quick getaway. She hoped with everything she had that the ocean would be her savior. But before taking a dive into the water, she waited for Tempesti's reply. She would rather work out their troubles than run away like a coward.

Nalani feels the warmth in her hands, and wonders why her swords would be warming up...Suddenly, she thinks of Tempesti's power over lightning, and is a bit afraid of what he might do to her. Could her swords attract lightning?
"What do you want!?" she shouted again, across the sand, curious about what Tempesti was planning. If her swords got any warmer, she would have to drop them...

"You are so unsure of yourself, that you'd deny your only defense in fear. You have done a great many things on your own since our first encounter. Figuring this out is just another step you'll take alone. The only thing I will tell you is that the key is not for me or for you, nor is the gate. Just as I knew that you are the true key keeper, you will know who you are to open the door for. Look within yourself and all around. Find that person, it is possible that the winds of fate has brought or is bringing that person here. And lastly, do not fear our roles."

"Of course I'm afraid! You seem to be threatening me. What else can I assume. But I haven't dropped my defenses quite yet!" Gripping the handles of her swords more tightly, feeling the warm aura coming from them, she grits her teeth. "Does this have to do with some prophecy that my saviors were talking about?" At this point, she unsheathes her swords, their blades glistening in the bright sunlight.
Standing even more resolute, she continues.
"Aah, I have done many things alone...and I shall do this on my own as well. That is certainly fine with me. If I am the key keeper, the key comes with me wherever I go...Whoever I am to meet, I will remember my role."

They don't glisten, they shine w/ a bright light. Just go w/ what yoyu said b/c it still fits. A smile slides across his face, as he looks to your swords. "More appropriately, the key chooses the keeper. They rejected your father, hence his death, they approve you...Know your role, don't let them down."

((well, well well...howlovely!)) Nalani looked down at her swords, noticing that it wasn't just the reflection of light from the sky that was causing the blades to shine so brightly. She hadn't noticed this ever before...They had never taken on this glow in all of her years on the island. They were some of the only things that she'd hung onto from the shipwreck, and it seemed that it was a good choice to keep them.
"Well, it looks like they've come to like me a bit more, now hasn't it," Nalani says, a smile on her face. "Why is it that they are acting like this now? Is it the island on which I stand that is causing this? And my father...why did they reject him? I barely remember seeing him with these swords, though I know they were important to him somehow. As for letting them down, I will try my best to do what is necessary..."((I tried to make them a part of the backstory real quick...Hope that's okay.))

"They rejected your father b/c he saw them as artifacts, when they were never artifacts. They have an old history yes, but they don't understand time in that fashion, they only ever really recognize they're core purpose. That purpose they currently cannot do as they have been locked for this purpose. I caution you as you may not know the implications. If you succeed in opening the door and you do survive, the swords will take on various attributes that you may not be able to protect right away, you should keep their strengths secret always until you know you are ready to protect them."

Looking down at the swords again, turning them over in her palms, she listened to what Tempesti had to say about the weapons. "So, they've begun to recognize their purpose again? I've not noticed this strange glow until I unsheathed them just now. I have no idea what they can do at this point, so I will take caution."
Nodding to him, she squeezed the handles more tightly, feeling the power within the swords...She was now quite curious about the power they posessed..."I will keep their strengths to myself. It seems like a good idea. But why this island? What is the Pool of Whirls that everyone keeps talking about? Will you block my acquaintences from exploring this island, and why is it that you protect this island so closely?"

"They've always known their purpose, this key role they currently play prevents them from pursuing their purpose. With time, you'll likey learn their true nature and how to communicate w/ them. Then you can ask them why they never revealed themselves to you, even in isolation. As for this island, I protect it by heavenly mandate, only a few can meet the requirements for free passage. Your comrades do not meet that requirement, therefore, they must earn the privelege. You may help them, but that requires you finding them."

Still full of questions, Nalani decides that Tempesti will probably not oblige her by answering them. So, keeping things short and sweet, she crams a few more questions in, hoping to get an answer for at least one of them. "Aah, heavenly mandate you say? Who has assigned you the duty? There are gods everywhere, and for everything, as I understand it. Surely it is not all of them who have asked you to protect this place."
Standing up a bit straighter, she continued. "I am looking forward to the day in which I can speak to these blades myself. I am curious to see what they will say. As for my comrades-- Well, yes, I suppose they are comrades at this point--I need to find them. I'm sure they are quite concerned about the situations they have been left in, especially if they are similar to my own." She smiled, giving Tempesti a bow. "If there is nothing more you require of me, I think it is time to find them. We shall see if they can earn the privelege to walk upon this isle. As for me, do I have permission to pass?" Knowing how powerful this man was, Nalani didn't want to step on any toes.
