Hugin the Raven
*Prepares to hack apart Taylor_Highwind's theories.*
Let's see, now...
*Cracks his knuckles.*
Wheelchair dude is not Sephiroth. True.
About Geostigma... the foreign presence within the children could definitely be Sephiroth. As the movie explained it, Geostigma is the reaction of one's body when it's trying to cleanse itself of these foreign factors. It is highly possible that one of the children would have had the potential to become another Sephiroth.
Seeing as the man's soul was not entirely dispersed in the lifestream, then yes. This is quite a possibility. And had the plan succeeded, a frightening one.
Hojo is Sephiroth's father. True.
Aerith however, is a different story. Her father is Professor Gast Gainsbourough, founder of the Jenova Project and the study of the Ancients, as well the first one to actually have a clear idea on who and what Jenova is. This was due to an account from the last surviving member of the Cetra race- Ifalna.
The two grow close and fall in love. They have a child named Aerith... Gast is found out by Hojo; gets killed in defense of his family. Aerigh and Ifalna are captured and experimented on for the better part of their lives, until Ifalna escapes and dies at Sector Six station. Story picks up from there.
So yeah... *Loads his shotgun and opens fire.*
BLAM
Connection between Aerith and Sephiroth. None. Subtle messages aside, which I picked up quite easily, there is no way in the gene pool that the two of them are remotely related. Different mothers, different fathers, different time zones. I believe that was made perfectly clear when gamers took a trip to Icicle Inn and took that little side trip to Aerith's birthplace.
BLAM
Twins? Twins act the same in some way, shape, or form. Same beliefs, same histories, same mannerisms; this is even true with fraternal twins. These two are from different planets, as far as personality and how they act.
BLAM
Tseng having any sort of link to Lucrezia what-so-ever. Wrong. See statement about Aerith's birth. You also have a theory that contradicts this one- Hojo is Sephiroth's father, and Lucrecia was obviously infatuated with the man. Any advances by any other person would have been DENIED.
BLAM
Cloud activating Holy... come on, mayne. You must not have been playing the game all that much. Though the final scenes may have been confusing, they were pretty clear to me. Sephiroth was removed from Holy's path after being DISINTEGRATED by omnislash (I loved that scene!), and thus the defensive measure was free to act. While it's true that the sacred shield attempted to limit the damage, there is no way that Cloud could have command over such a massive force that has a will of its own.
The only one who could have had control over such a magic would be Aerith, and she already prayed for Holy's activation. Prayer awnsered, if it weren't for Sephiroth blocking the spell. Remove the wrench in the system, and the machine will move.
BLAM
Play it again; watch closely this time. Sorry if it's harsh, but I have a thing for this storyline, seeing as it was so involving.
Bai now.

[x]I'm really nervous about saying this, as I am probably going to get ripped apart. I don't mean any offense by contradicting your theory Hugin. Okay. I think that there is a connection between Aerith and Sephiroth. Ghast and Hojo worked together on the Jenova project. Hojo found out that Ghast was having a child with Ifalna, an Ancient, so he came to take the child. Ghast died in protection of his family. I think that Hojo may have injected Aerith with Jenova cells, considering what Allymoon said about Aerith and Sephiroth being opposites. This, considering that Ifalna is dead (I think), would allow Aerith to use her mother's Holy materia (the mother's materia bit I know becuase Aerith says it at the point where she first meets Cloud) because Aeith and Sephiroth would be the only Ancient-Jenova crosses left. This is why Cloud meets Aerith in the first place I think. Because she has the power to keep control of her psyche and not take part in 'Reunion' (due to the fact that Jenova came to the original Ancients giving them a virus, meaning that Aerith would have some sort of natural antibody to the virus being half-ancient), Cloud was drawn to her because of the fact that she and Sephiroth were connected (by the Holy-Meteor connection). (I will finish this but I have to go and eat my tea now).
