Vice's smirk grew a bit. He glanced back up at the building, then back down at C.J. "Yeah, maybe. Well, I'm going to head back to my room before I get evicted. Good luck on finding a place to stay." he said, carefully sliding his feet around and easing himself off the truck. With that, he turned and started heading towards the door of the "haunted" building.

"Thanks, man. Good luck in there." he said as he put the guitar in the truck and he slid behind the wheel of the truck, the engine turning over and having that low growl that muscle cars have. He unrolled his T-shirt sleeve revealing a pack of chewing gum and pulled out a piece, putting it in his mouth. Funky place. Sounds like when I stayed in Marie Laveau's ol' stomping grounds . . . wonder what'll happen next? he thought as he trucked down the road. Hoping the next place wasn't so haunted.

Vice dissapeared inside the doorway, then stopped and glanced back to watch the man drive off. He smirked a bit and turned to continue heading inside the building. Unfortunately his path was blocked by a woman standing directly in front of him with her arms crossed. She scowled up at him. "You seriously weren't considering letting that man stay here, were you?"
Vice shrugged. "I liked him." he admitted. "I wouldn't have minded the company."
"He was noisy." Gossamer pointed out. "And rather social if what I gathered was accurate. I DON'T need anyone knowing that this place isn't abandoned. ESPECIALLY a certain someone that I still can't locate. That guy would be an easy way for Joker to pick up information."
Vice smiled a bit. "I know. Still...Rosie might have liked listening to him. At least watching him play. I certainly can't do it any more."

C.J. rolled down the window and turned the radio on . . . it was a long way from a kid growing up in Florida, just catching the Rhythm N' Blues stations from Mississippi and Louisiana on the radio. He was a little upset that the hotel rejected him . . . literally, but it didn't damper his mood. He would try his luck finding a home soon.

[[ Alrighty then. ^^ ]]
As the truck drove along, a small plastic shopping bag tumbled across the sidewalk corner and onto the road. A small girl, couldn't have been any older than four, ran out from around the corner of the building and chased after the bag that had landed in the middle of the road.
A unseen woman screamed something, and the girl glanced back towards the sidewalk, then turned and looked at the truck coming towards her.

C.J. slammed the brakes on, screaming to a stop mere inches before hitting the kid. The young man hopped down from the cab the moment he put it in park and put his hazards on. He helped the kid back over to the side of the street, heaving a sigh of relief. If he had seen a split second later, she would have had a bad case of El-Camino-to-the-face disease. He got down to the kid's level.
"Are you alright, kid?" he asked.

The little girl looked up at him, holding the plastic bag tightly in her hands. "I okay." she replied, then held up the bag for him to see. "Wind blew dis away. Littering bad."
"ALLY!" the woman called out again.
The little grinned and turned back around as her mother finally caught up to her. The child's twin brother held firmly in the woman's arms with a few shopping bags hanging off of her arms as she stopped and bent down beside of her, struggling to catch her breath. "Ally, don't you dare run off like that again. Do you understand?" she hissed, struggling to catch her breath.

C.J. smiled. "Always a good thing for the world, but next time, not in front a' cars, a'right?" he asked and looked up at the woman, who looked like she was the mother. "I'm real sorry 'bout that, ma'am. Need a hand with things?" he asked.

Misty looked up at him and frowned. "We should be alright. My help ran off as I was trying to re-bag some of these." she said, setting both the bags and her son down on the ground. "I'm sorry...we don't get out of the apartment very often together. I didn't know she'd chase after the bag like that."

C.J. nodded. "That's alright. I did the same thing when I was a kid . . . " he said with a shrug. It was sort of a way with life running off to something interesting. He looked at her a minute, as if he met her before. "Y'all want a ride?" he asked. Plenty more room in the truck. All he had was a duffel bag of clothes and a beat up guitar.

Both of the young twins eyes lit up. "Can we ride in the-"
"No, you're not riding in the back..." Misty replied. She glanced over at the truck, then at C.J. Giving him a considering look over. "I...I would appreciate it if you could. The buses don't come down this way for another hour, and we only live a few blocks down."

C.J. smiled. "I'd be happy to do it. Gotta warn ya, I got a few things that I gotta work on in there." he said with a smile, minding his manners. Remembering his manners, he looked at her. He was SURE they had met before. "I'm C.J. by the way. C.J. Benoit." he said.

Misty smiled and stood up again. "I'm Misty..." she replied. C.J. might feel as though he knew her, but Misty had not sense of deja vu at all. And with her last recent relationship, she had rather strong trust issues. A first name was all he was going to get.
"I'm Ally!" the little girl said as she walked over to the truck to look at it. Her brother didn't reply. Rather he shyly hid behind his mother and looked up at the stranger.
