 "Shh... I'm here..." Jared said softly and gently stroked her hair as he carried her back into the room where she was. He knew she wouldn't want to be where he had taken Dark. He gently laid down on the bed and held Rani in his arms. "It's alright... I'm here..." Jared held her in one arm and removed his chest armor with the other to make Rani comforable.

 Rani kept a tight hold on his as if she thought he was going to leave her if she let go, she kept her head buried against the crook of his neck letting his scent and his words comfort her, she loosened her grip alittle as she felt him removing his armor and looked up at him "promise......" she asked softly looking up at him.

Jared settled back down into the bed and looked down at her. "I promise..." He said softly and kissed the top of her head. "I swear I won't leave you..." He whispered against her skin and held her close. Jared wrapped his arms around her and let her hold him.

Rani blushed softly as she laid against him and closed her eyes feeling his lips against the top of her head "thank you...." she said softly as she buried her face against his neck, her arms wrapping around his chest, she felt safe in his warm embrace as she tried to put all thoughts of what happened out of her head "i...love you...." she whispered softly not sure whether she wanted him to hear her or not.

Jared nodded and gently ran his hand up and down her back hoping to help sooth her. And then he heard words he had not heard in eons... He hezitated slightly and gently cupped her chin to look into her eyes, "Y-You love me..?" He asked unsure if he heard her correct.

Rani blushed alittle more as she felt him touch her chin and looked up into his eyes "yes...." she said confident in her feelings, even if she wasn't that confident in much else, she knew how she felt about him and the moment he turned away from her confirmed it. she felt as if her heart was being ripped out when she watched him turn away, and the very thought of him leaving was enough to make her cry "I Love you, Jared" she said again.

Jared looked into her eyes. A part of him felt over welmed with joy but the other part told him to be wary... Told him never let a woman hold your heart... But he had already seen how she cared for him. She was going to be nothing like Selena, who betraied him even though he loved her far more thant Lucifer ever did. 'She's not Selena! She's not Selena!' Jared's heart screamed over and over. But the wall he built up was fighting so hard to remain up.
Jared looked into Rani's eyes and saw the tears forming. And that's what did it... "I love you too Rani..." He whispered as he pulled her into his arms and kissed her deeply.

Rani 's eyes went wide as she heard his reply as a single tear fell down her cheek, before she felt his lips against her's and egarly responded tightening her arms around him overjoyed that he wasn't going to turn her away. she couldn't help the tears that would stop and she broke the kiss blushing and smiling through them "they won't stop...." she said laughing softly. Jared chuckled and wipped her tears away. "It's alright..." He said pulling her into his arms and held her close. Jared gently laid her down into the bed and began to kiss her tears away. "Better?"

Rani blushed as she felt him wipe her tears away and closed her eyes enjoying the warmth of his touch, she was finding it hard to believe that he really had said he loved her, as she was pulled into his arms and blushed smiling as they laid down and closed her eyes once more feeling his lips on her cheeks kissing away her tears "yes....." she said softly, as she opened her eyes and ran her fingers up through his hair softly. she stared up into his eyes and smiled softly promising herself she would do everything in her power to make him smile a genuine smile and keep that smile on his face.

"Good..." Jared said softly and genlty kissed the top of Rani's head. He closed his eyes as she stroked his hair and enjoyed her soft touches. "Rani... I'm trusting you with something no one has been aloud to get near..." He said softly looking down into her eyes and lifted her hand to his chest over his heart. "I trust you with my heart...."

Rani blinked as she lifted her head alittle and looked up at him her head tilted alittle as he spoke, before she blushed softly as he took her hand and placed it over his heart and looked at their hands feeling his strong heartbeat, as she smiled softly looking up at him "i will protect it....with all that i am" she said as she leaned up and kissed him softly her hair falling over her shoulders and brushing against his face.

Rani blushed as she felt him kissing her back and smiled softly as she wrapped her arms around him and held him close, shivering alittle as she felt him nuzzling her neck "is that...a bad thing?" she asked softly as she blushed even more feeling his lips against her neck and curled closer to the heat of his body.
