I've been trying to think of something theme-wise that we could do specifically for Team Leukemia. Kind of like how Team Ovarian uses eggs to represent the children that women with Ovarian Cancer can't have. In my first tektek, I was using the fire and hearts thing from The Diapered Egg in the hopes of representing love in the flow of blood and the hopes of healing but I feel like there's a better idea out there that I haven't hit on... Feel free to help me brainstorm on this. I am also trying to find something that can be purchased by or for every member without much trouble... but that could be even more difficult than trying to come up with symbolic avatar items... *works on another tektek* ................  Ok... this time I did a male avatar and went for a more "fighter" kind of theme. You know... fighting the disease. Also put in the balloon to represent the cells that swell up... and such... Went a little overboard but I don't care... love dani dude

hey everyone - the forum has been slow today- but its easter so thats not anything i wouldnt expect anyless- but i hope everyone had a great holiday if you celebrate- and if you dont i hape that you at least have a great day-

YugureIko-- ill help you come up with something - it really sounds like a good idea- cuz in a group everyone has the daffodil but still-
some things to think about are some key words
love, strength, hope, dream, rememberence, umm idk some others- fighting, believe, idk thats all i can think off i will think of more soon

blonde lite- thanks for putting them up- we need to get some other people working on some art too- its really easy photobucket has some nice tools that you can use to mess with everything - just have to go to edit-

I'm faint, I'm weak
"Whats going on?" she screams
I hold her tight, I'm not letting go.
between my fingers, she'll melt like snow.
I'm holding on, just as much as she is
I can't believe, no, I just won't.
An inward struggle that she must cope
And the constant weight bearing down
bone crushing weight.
The needles that pierce her diamond white skin
Are they enemy? Or are they friend?
Medication being pumped through her veins
It must be so much pain
For her, for me, for everybody in between.
So much pain.
I run a hand through her hair, and some it comes with me
as I lift it up to see.
Red strands wrap around my fingers, screaming to be free.
"Help us!" they plead "We are so sick!
Our grip, it's loosened, and we can't hold on.
So out we fall, and now we're gone"
And those green eyes shinning into mine,
they cry the same thing again.
Help us.
Help me.
I am slowly dying, and am afraid she is too.

Ok, I just had an idea. I'm sure this is a silly question, in this setting, but have you all heard the story of Sadako and her effort to fold 1000 paper cranes in the hopes that she would be healed of her leukemia and have her wish for love and kindness throughout the world fulfilled?
Do you think there is anyway of having a crane theme in our team? Maybe not necessarily in our avatars but also in signatures/profiles, etc.? Or, actually, I'm sure really any bird that could represent, love, hope and/or healing would do.
That's my new big idea for team leukemia: Normal and Paper Cranes for hope and healing, as in the story of young Sadako who lost a valiantly fought battle to this horrible disease.
I love you all, and I have the highest hopes and kindest wishes that your sister will be well again, Fetus. I know the feeling of being at some one's side during such a fight. She'll have some extreme lows that'll be heartbreaking and difficult to bare, but the best thing you can do for her is be strong, loving and hopeful, all the time. Also, be joyful whenever possible. Never lose faith in her. A cancer patient's chances of survival can be increased up to 60% if they just believe in themselves and believe that their fight can be won, and you can help her believe in herself by believing in her, yourself. Don't pretend either. REALLY believe in her and stay at her side during this battle, as much as you can. I have no doubt your sister will pull through. <3
