I just saw the trailer for the 4th RE movie. It looks like they are finally getting it right!
Not that the other movies were bad, they simply were not what I expected. This one feels much closer to the games, specially a much more Wesker-like Wesker!

No, there were several things wrong.

-The haircut was wrong
-The actor's facial structure wasn't best suited for wesker
-he was more calm and neutral than sneaky and missing that hit of cunning that helps Wesker feel like the most dangerous man in the room.
-The sunglasses were the wrong style.

Don't be fooled. This new movie is no where near being right, just as the last 3 were. These movies are horrible and are an insult to the RE Franchise. You can expect to see those stupid Alice clones again, along with use of that BS psychic ability that was never covered by any aspect of RE.

It is a failure of a franchise movie wise, therefore striking that Degeneration is the only TRUE RE movie.

These movies don't even deserve the respect of being called Resident Evil, and They have no right to use the true characters of the series.

They are an insult to me and every other hard core Resident Evil fan.

Please, take no offense to what I'm saying, it's just that I am strongly against these movies that they try to call Resident Evil.

I strongly despise those movies, and the Director of them as well, that Paul W S Anderson, or what ever the freak his name is. Every movie that he has been associated with has been a failure, such as his Alien Vs Predator movies, not to mention the so called Resident Evil movies as well, The DOA movie, and death race. He is a horrible director and does not deserve the honor of working on any Resident Evil Titled Project.

And one last thing, each and every actor or actress he has chosen to play the parts of any of the canon characters have been horrible choices, the first Wesker he chose, along with this last Wesker as well, not to mention Claire, Carlos, Jill (of whom was totally wrong in every aspect, the language she used in the movies, along with her hair color.). Truth be told, I'd prefer to see the person he first chose as Wesker to reprise the role, just because it fits just how horrible these movies are.

Not a single thing Paul has done for these movies has been right. The only respect he deserves is for creating the first RE movie he did, just because it wasn't so far stretched as was his last two instalments, along with this fourth.

I can keep going on and on about how much i hate his movies, and with every last aspect that was wrong about them, but that would take up a lot of space, if not another page.

I just felt I should get my point across, and my opinions about the movies he's done, and just wanted to state that true RE fans would not like any of his RE movies, You can join my club if you feel the same (This is figuratively speaking of course, but i do have a lot of fellow RE fans that hate his movies as much as I do, perhaps i should start a real club about it lol). I've already got a whole nest full of fellow haters of his movies. Again, I mean no offense to anyone, and I just needed to vent about this new movie, just because of how much I know it will further mutilate the possibility of a true Resident Evil movie, and what RE really is.

Again, I mean no offense to any of you who may be fans of the movies, this is just my personal view on the situation. So please, no hard feelings. ^_^

And Really!? The use of Katanas and throwing stars? Please, RE doesn't use such pathetic weapons when it comes to B.O.W.s. It is so far from what Resident Evil is.

Not to mention the use of such moments in RE, such as when Wesker Threw his glasses at Chris in 5. That just goes to show you just how much more of a bad, cheesy director Paul truly is.

The throwing glasses parts should have just been left in 5, where it was Dramatic and truly cool, and not some cheesy scene in a movie. That truly pissed me off when I watched the preview a few days back. what a b*****d (Paul). Not to mention that the preview will be featured in the new A Nightmare on Elm Street movie, in the opening trailers. What a way to ruin a truly wonderful, and best recreated horror movie remake, just before the feature. I think I'll be at the food stand during the previews, just so My A Nightmare on Elm Street experience won't be ruined.

if you don't believe me just how cheesy this movie looks, I'll have the preview up here in the forum for those of you who haven't seen it yet.

Behold the Cliched Cheesiness.

RESIDENT FAILURE: Afterlife

There's the trailer for those of you interested. I Say that this is again, just another demonstration of just how little Paul really does know about Resident Evil.

Again, no offense to those of you that enjoy these 'interpretations' of Resident Evil.

Let's at least hope that Paul had the common sense to have 'Wesker' kill off Alice. And seriously Alice? The virus escaped, and everyone died? if that's the case how come you're not dead. What a stupid thing to say.

Gah, I would so like to Shoot Paul in the foot with a bow gun arrow.

That is a lot of pent up anger. o.0

I'm not going to say that the movies are bad, but they aren't good Resident Evil movies. I think they'd be good movies if they weren't called 'Resident Evil'. After all, where in Resident Evil does it say that an overdoes of the T-Cure turns you into a mix of a Tyrant and Nemesis? Or that that those who bond with the T-Virus become psychic? If that was the case, Jill would move stuff with her mind by now!

Also, it's true that I don't agree with most casting choices, but I do think Carlos was an improvement, at least in the second movie. As for Jill, she was basically Jill acting like the original Chris Redfield from PSOne. Claire was completely wrong, seeing as they missed the point of her character, turning her into some tough chick with no hint of the subtle characteristics she has that make it possible for gamers to identify with her and sympathize. Personally I couldn't have cared if this movie Claire lived or died, since as far as I was concerned, she's just some girl named Claire. But the real reason anyone would want to bash these movies is Alice, the super-woman. Her existence is the opposite of everything Resident Evil is in the gaming world, simple as that.

But, after some bashing, I must say I applaud Anderson for trying something new and sticking to his guns. After all, the games are cinematic already, so is a movie showing the same really necessary?

lol, i never really paid attention to it being pent up anger ^_^

but yeah, I'd agree with you on that, I would full heartily accept these movies as interesting, and action packed movies, if it wasn't the fact that it's associated with Resident Evil. I'd much prefer them to have been named like Outbreak, or their secondary names, with out the use of the character names in them from the video games. the first should have just been called like Evil, the second Apocalypse, and the third Extinction, and this one called Afterlife, however there is another movie called afterlife so they'd have to change it.

It's just the usage of the franchise's name, and the Characters that really really piss me off about these movies. I would love to have a conversation with Paul about just why exactly he included this stupid psychic bs in it. Of course this would result in him being tied up to a chair and bloody faced, after I got done taking out my anger and hatred for his movies on him. (Figuratively speaking, I'm not so violent that I would jeopardize the well being of a human...in most cases.)

I will admit, i was interested in the first movie, that's why I watched it, I didn't think it so bad, because it could have easily been attributed to side stories from outside of the Canon RE games, such as RE Zero, to 5, excluding the Outbreak files, and Dead Aim. But when he started bringing in the main characters and I saw just how bad they were portrayed on screen, I started to get really angry, and then at the end of Apocalypse, that is what set me over the edge, with that Psychic BS. That is when I really wanted to punch the guy in the face, because that in no way was associated with any Resident Evil theme.

So it was the second movie that set me on my vendetta for Anderson, and his movies, and then rooted a hatred for his first Resident Evil movie as well, because of just where they went.

Well the 2nd movie at least takes place in the Raccoon Outbreak, even if there's no Leon Kennedy, who's most associated at the time with RE2.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 07, 2010 7:57 pm

Heck, according to those stupid movies, Leon is dead, and was Jill's partner. there's suppose to be some type of newspaper in the movie that covers that, and says that Jill was discharged from the STARS unit.

But even if it did take place in the outbreak of Raccoon city, that still wasn't enough to give that movie any credibility to Resident Evil, not to mention just how horrible that Nemesis was done in the movie.

Nemesis was like Bane from the Batman and Robin movie (of which was a horrible incarnation of Batman), and Nemesis moved slowly and didn't mutate like he was suppose to, not to mention that Nemesis was anything but slow. He was suppose to move quickly and swiftly like he did in RE 3. Nothing can save those movies from being hated by fans of the game.

Oh, and has anyone seen any information about the new RP that Fortune had been developing? I tried to find the story in his journal like the announcement said, but I couldn't.
