Aquilo looked around, "Sir? Is my father here? I don't see him anywhere." He smiled playfully, "Call me Aquilo. This sir business is for the elderly."
"I'll show you just how elderly I am..." Marduk darted down from the clouds. "Giving my grandson's mate such ideas..." He turned his attention to October, "I am no more elderly than anyone else here. I just happen to have more kids who thought they'd have kids..." He eyed Aquilo playfully.
Aquilo grinned sheepishly, "Well...Sometimes you just can't help yourself."
Anil shook his head, "Grandpa, this is October, my mate. October, my very unexpected grandfather, Marduk." Another head shake from Anil. "I thought you'd be busy patrolling...I didn't expect to see you so soon."
"I was. But how can I ignore this scene? My grandson with a beautiful lady, presenting her to his foolish, cliff-diving father? And then...to hear how elderly I am..." He shot another glare at Aquilo. "But you, my dear, have certainly picked one of the most eligible young men to be with. He's quite a good catch. But I might be biased." Marduk's wide smile lit up his face as he bowed to October. "I do hope you'll stick around."

She ducked her head. "I was hoping to. " She tried to shift a little more behind Anil. This was getting a bit crowded.

Anil nuzzled at her neck, "Sorry, October."
"What are we sorry for? Pops, behave, you're making her nervous."
"And how do you know that it's not you making her nervous, youngin'?"
"If you two would like to behave for just a few more minutes, we'll leave you alone. October didn't want to meet everyone at once because of how many there were."
Marduk nodded, "I see, then I'm sorry to have dropped in. I really need to be going anyway. But now when I get home I'll have something fun to hold over Zephyr's head. You really should make your grandmother wait until last to meet her. She'll be brimming with questions by that time." He grinned and took off, disappearing into the clouds.
"Oh indeed. Mother might resort to spying before that time...you know how she gets when there's a possibility for grandbabies...She and Dad still haven't stopped gushing over Mandrake's brood. And they're almost adults..."
Anil smiled nervosuly. "Ah...well...I guess that means we should see her sooner than later...I don't really want her to be so curious as to be tempted to spy..."

Spying? This was not what she thought was going to happen. "Maybe we should go see her right now. I don't want anyone mad at me." She looked to Anil, worried.

Anil smiled, "Don't be worried. She wouldn't really do those things. She's just so eager all the time about meeting mates. Well...Grandmother's eager about everything...And you just met my father and my grandfather. I don't want to overwhelm you."

"My family is huge. My grandmother has four other siblings, my father has six siblings, and if you add in all the cousins, we could potentially be doing this for a year. But you don't have to meet everyone at once. Family gatherings over time will get most of them. The important ones though, like parents and grandparents, would be nice. At least to meet them in the near future..."

"Kind of. I don't know when you'll get to meet my mother. She's often away...she likes to stay with her herd...but my grandmother, yeah...we can meet her and have this whole meeting thing done with."
