Indeed, it's either that, or Aizen has secretly went into Bankai, and the weakness only applies when in Shikai.
I would actually rather have it that he used Bankai now that just say it was a lie, Aizen's lies are getting annoying. stare

It was awesome at first, what with Aizen revealing himself to be the main antagonist. But after a while it gets... repetitive, like Ichigo spamming Getsuga Tensho since it's his only attack.

All I want is for him to use Bankai. He's been relying on Shikai for way too long a time for it to be even fun anymore.

Dante_Shadowolf I bet a non-existent dollar that Aizen lied about Kyoka Suigetsu's weakness.  Which would just make this series worse. neutral

Although that would explain his reliance on one single ability of his, it would be too far-fetched... me thinks.
Hmm... now that I think about it. How would an upgraded Getsuga Tensho defeat Aizen, exactly? I mean, even Yoruichi had a hard time attacking him, I doubt Ichigo will even get a chance to use final Getsuga Tensho on him before Aizen Senkas him back to childhood.

Well, Yoruichi didn't even use her Zanpakutou against Aizen. Damn it! So many Zanpakutous not seen, so little time.
