 Everyone is changing

Silas pulled on his standard white shirt and jeans. Not skinny jeans, but real-man jeans. He slipped his feet onto a pair of converse and strolled out the door.
He was on his way to the labs. Evangeline was working there and a small visit couldn't hurt. Besides, she was working with Felincia. Silas always hated to admit it to himself, let alone Eva or anyone else that he liked Felincia. It would kill him if Felincia herself found out.
Silas walked into the lab and found Jesute out front. "Hello," he greeted. "Are they in there working?" he asked, referring to Felincia and Eva.

[[I thought he was a vampire!!]]  "There are some kinks to be worked out," agreed Felincia. "Besides, I want the flammable gas to be something that can be removed just by exhaling, not by coughing. If the lungs were to try and cough out the gas, the silver would be coughed out as well. So I hope to find a kind of atmospheric condition that can be corrected through exhaling, so that everyone can breathe it in without dying. After all, unless I'm mistaken, human blood cells can get rid of a bit of silver with no trouble."
Felincia used a glass probe to test the melting silver. "And besides, we've got a werewolf to test it on. I wouldn't want to kill her, of course; she's the most valuable hostage we could ever hope to have. So when test this on her, it will be with medical attention nearby."
A knock came at the door. "That must be Jesute with Shaishuu," Felincia said, confused. "Though I thought her classes ended later."

Evangeline opened the door and flung herself into Silas's arms who swung her around in a hug, like he had since they were kids. "Up and walking around by yourself? Wow! Hey Felincia. Still working on Xedod stuff?" he asked leaving Eva by the door with Jesute.
Eva whispered to Jesute, "He thinks nobody knows he likes Felincia. How cute!" She smothered giggled under her hand.

Whether or not it was common knowledge that Si had a crush on Felincia had no effect on the fact that Felincia herself had no idea. She was fully aware of the fact, however, that as soon as he entered the lab she turned into a cat.
Blushing furiously, she retransformed, wondering what the hey made her do that? Silias wasn't a threat. "Not right now, Silias," she said, indicating the silver and bunsen burner, coupled with the disassembled compressed-air container on the counter. Suddenly desperate to take her attention of Silias, she turned to the secretary. "Jesute, shouldn't you be getting Shaishuu? It's quite a walk to the training center, and I can't leave this lying around." She began carefully pouring the silver into the skeleton of the container, then adding a base of gaseous air, way too conscious of Silias' eyes on her. What the hey? Hadn't she always known this kid?

"You're such a cute cat," Silas commented as he leaned on the counter the same way Eva had. He blatantly ignored her shoos. "What's your latest brilliant invention going to do? Silver? Killing more werewolves perhaps?" Silas guessed with a smile.
Silas thought about the name Shaishuu for a moment. 'She's the girl who came back from the dead right?' he thought to himself. He confirmed it in his mind after another second of thought.
He continued to watch the silver over the Bunsen burner. "Looks like it will be pretty handy in some fights with those mutts," he commented, looking closely.

"Yeah," Felincia said uneasily, "a tomcat's already started flirting with me."
What most people didn't realize about Felincia was, her life was focused purely on the lab. Since she was a small child she had buried her disappointment in herself in studying, then in experimenting. She had read no novels, let alone watched "chick flicks," and was woefully ignorant to reading people's emotions. The sisterly affection she showed for Shaishuu was completely foreign to her, for example. She strongly felt empathy, but beyond regret and contentment, she found it hard to distinguish threatening tension from affectionate tension. She didn't even know what a crush was. So whenever Silias got in the same room as her, and she felt the tension from him, she felt threatened rather than flattered as she ought to be. Her experience as a cat heightened that sense.
Trying to calm herself down, she explained the concept of vaporized silver to Silias, watching him warily.

 Shaishuu strove to keep in stride with Jesute as he power-walked back to the labs. "Why'd Felincia send you?" she asked him, panting. "She's busy in the lab with something hazardous, as she puts it," Jesute grumbled. "Plus, she has company." "Evangeline?" "And some boy named Silias." Shaishuu put a smile on her face. "Does he have a crush on Felincia?" Jesute stopped and put his hands in the air in exasperation. "I don't care! I'm not involved in your people's lives! Jeez, how did Axel manage to live as long as he did with you lab freaks?!" Then Jesute started walking again, faster, and Shaishuu couldn't talk for trying to keep up.

Evangeline stepped outside the lab door. She doubted that anyone would miss her and the vaporized silver was getting to her. She plopped herself down in Jesute's chair and fanned herself with her hands.she was inexplicably hot at the moment.
As she turned her head, she saw Jesute speeding down the hall at a more than brisk walk while Shaishuu practically sprinted after him. "Nice day for a stroll?" she asked with sarcasm.

[[I'm trying to think of a reason to... hang on, coming up with an idea...]] Shaishuu smiled at Evangeline. "I hear there's a boy in the lab," she said, giggling like the twelve-year-old girl she really was. It seemed that being found in the closet and being cared for had done her some good.

"There is indeed! And it's someone other than Jesute for once!" Evangeline smile broadly. "Don't be too obvious about how much he likes her. He doesn't think anybody knows that he likes her," she said with a wink, leaning over the desk like one of those crime bosses in old movies.

Shaishuu giggled even more. This was how she was supposed to be - a regular girl, giggling about crushes and boys, untroubled by the slaying and the bloodlust that had come upon her, unhindered by the fact that she had already died. "Is he cute?" she said, bursting into questions. "Is he funny? Felincia likes funny. What kind of clothes does he wear?" "If you two are going to talk about crushes all day, will you please get off my desk?" Jesute said, very loudly.

 Tram gathered his werewolves around him. Because it was his plan, and he had the most knowledge surrounding the main details, he was put in charge of the rescuing mission that was supposed to happen that night. Many of the wolves he had chosen were wolves that had accompanied the little mistress in her last raid to the Keeper's base. Their knowledge and skills were needed in addition to his own.
When they were all with him, he outlined the beginnings of the plan. "My Keeper shift begins two hours before sunset tonight. I need all of you to be in town by then, spread out. Then make sure you are within calling distance of the bases by one hour after sunset. You all have the vials I asked for? Good. We'll be going back and forth between human and wolf shape, so plan accordingly. Be well-rested an prepared."
Tram was more than ready.

Evangeline cast Jesute a look. She stood up and huffed at him while she took Shaishuu to the other side of the hall. "He's kind of cute I guess. Do you want to go inside? I'm sure they are both squirming about being alone together," she replied smiling.
Eva opened the door. Silas was completely red in the face, trying to understand the science mumbo-jumbo spewing out of Felincia's mouth.

Silas had gotten red while trying to keep up with all the science that Felincia was spitting at him. He never quite comprehended what went into the weapons he used.
He spun around when the door opened, happy that Eva was back. He saw hat just behind her was a younger girl. "Hello," Silas greeted them both. "What's your name?" he asked the younger girl.

Shaishuu was trying really, really hard not to giggle and wasn't being too successful. "I'm Shaishuu," she said as she took Silas' hand and shook it. "It's nice to meet you!" She looked at Felincia and smiled broadly, a slight giggle escaping her lips.
