Cassus looked at her, his face smiling in an evil happiness as he spoke.
"Not my child, we must go collect souls. Your friend Xavier will be there, if you're good I bet he'll let you touch one of his talking heads."Cassus took her hand and the two of them warped to the hallow village.

Cassus and Miri appeared in the mansion which was now ornately decorated with the Artur family colors and emblems. Grand black and silver curtains hung around the throne room and the throne itself was larger and fitted with all the luxuries new souls could give. Cassus took his place at the throne and made a smaller throne appear for his new daughter along with a black wolf that was laying down in front of Cassus' throne.

with a small thrilled sound she knelt next to the animal to pet it. after a moment she caught herself, a sheepish smile turning up the corner of her mouth as she slide into her throne. " the souls are a wonder, father."

"Isn't all this wonderful my child. The Artur name is shining bright now. If only Emily could see this, how happy she would be."Cassus' wife Emily had been killed in one of the many parties during the 1920's by an alcoholic who had mistaken her for a bootlegger he was supposed to meet. This started Cassus' downward spiral and as the years went by, he became the twisted man he is today.

obediantly she found herself nodding, saying cheerfuly as she smiled at Cassus. " Our family is great, father. it is only right that it should be revealed in such wealth and power." frowning slightly she asked after a few moments. " who was that demon.. before in the village? for some reason i feel like i knew the woman."

But I assure you that she isn't, however she still believes she is. I am afraid your mother is long dead, we lost her sadly. But I am here, and I will never leave you."How well he spun that. He never lied in that statement, Bain was not her real mother, but he was not her real father. However, he was being sucked into this fantasy more and more as he spent time with her. What he showed her was real love, whether that was caused by the mirror or by his obsession with his family was unknown. But in the future perhaps someone would use that to their advantage.

" so that is why i have this strange wolf demon magic, she must have shared it to protect me." folding her hands in her lap her expression was joyful, the emotion innocent and pure. " then im glad we did not kill her, it will be a thanks for taking care of me for a time." pausing for a moment she placed her hand on Cassus's arm gently, saying in a more somber tone. " i am sad to know my true mother is gone.. i would mourn her, if it is suited to your approval." it was normal in her mind, to light a silver candle for her lost mother. the shadows made sure of it, pushing images from Cassus's mind of the woman named Emily.

Strolling in with a lively perk Xavier let out an enormous cackle as he made his way to see Cassus. Sensing the girl was with him, Xavier did the same as he had before. His features became soft and welcoming, a nice ensemble, making him seem like a good natured man, sweet and sensitive. Opening the doors to the room, he strolled in, his robes clean, and dry, and he gave off a sweet aroma. Smiling warmly to both as he stepped in, Xavier laughed with a bright chuckle. "It is good to see the both of you back home and warm. I take it you fared well, My Lord? My Lady?" He smiled down to her, seeing how she would take her title. Looking back up to Cassus, his face took a more serious tone, still soft, but a little more stiff. "When you have a moment, I have a matter of business I would like to discuss with you, and along with that, I believe I need to renew.. About five times, I would say. I think the hunger should be quelled for some time now. I hope I have served you well, My Lord." He bowed his head low and respectively, going to one knee, and raising up, giving a fist to his heart in salute. He smiled once more, kindly to Miri.

"My dear, I must speak with uncle Xavier for a moment, play with Arthur until we return."The wolf looked up at his master and then at Miri. Cassus began to walk with Xavier and his armor began to grow on his skin.
"What is it you have to report?"

with a bright smile she nodded, waving at Xavier with a knowing look. she wasnt a fool.. she adored her father and his fallower Xavier, but she also knew exactly what nature he was hiding under that facade. just like she knew that the wolf Aro was a wall of ice, even when the she-wolf smiled. it was another little gift from the darkness that had claimed her, to let her see the fallowers natures clearly. shifting to her timber wolf form she crouched, wagging her tail slightly as she made a laughing sound. in a matter of moments the two wolves were in a game of tag around the throne room.

"Well, as I am sure you already know, the Latverious family is more than ready to strike in return. But, from what I have gathered, Sergei is gaining his power much more quickly than we had previously presumed. Just as well, the Lord Viktor is seemingly as potent a threat, especially seeing as though he would sacrifice, life and limb to Sergei. This may be detrimental to our previous plans. I will look further into it, and give you a final deliberation. If the need be, I may have to infiltrate and rid us of our Viktor problem. For I am sure you want Sergei for your own."

Cassus laughed and literally created a new corridor which added several new rooms to the mansion. The two of them started down the corridor and Cassus stopped at a large ebony door which opened for them.
"Xavier, do not worry. Viktor is not a threat, that very fact is his weakness. Right now we have the upper hand, if we attacked and Viktor was killed, the entire Latverious army would be at our door, and that would be unpleasant. However, if we were to create a reason for Viktor to leave, and he was killed by an unknown force Sergei would not be quick to attack. Odd how that works, as long as we don't attack within the Latverious castle, we are not a threat. If we kill him inside we are a force worthy of being attacked. Gregor is famous for this, which is why I'm confident. However, I believe it is time you had some good old fashioned fun."Cassus let Xavier inside the room and revealed not only the mirror of Eckanis, but also a new set of armor and an array of beautiful new weapons. But the gifts didn't stop there, while he obviously wouldn't give him the mirror he did give him a ring which sat on the same desk as the weapons. It was a ring that allowed the user to make use of the souls captured by Cassus to fuel their own power. Xavier would know the ring so Cassus didn't say anything on the subject.

Dressed for travel Miri pressed two fingers to her lips, blowing a kiss back to the mansion before making her way out of the gate. it was time.. she couldnt live off of her dear father, not with how things were. it had been months since they had last ate together.. a rift forming between them as his work and plans kept him away. this... yes, this was her only real choice. she would strike out on her own, and wish her father all the happyness in the world. shruging her bag into place she started off, humming softly as she considered al that she could do.

He was there, back where it had started, his mansion gone, his supply of souls unlimited. Cassus reconstructed his mansion, piece by piece, soul by soul. It was better then it had been before. It was a conduit of necromancy, a masterpiece of demonic lore with runes inscribed in the very wood to fuel its masters dark will. Cassus sat upon his throne once more, beautiful and young in his old body. Able to feel, able to breath, and longing to kill.
"Xavier, I call to you, rejoin me and I will grant you endless slaughter." He called out to all his minions but Xavier was special, he was more loyal then any of his vassals had been. For they were kindred spirits searching for the same thing.

Marcus knelt at his master's side. Already Cassus had an exceptional thrall. A disposable harbinger of doom that could be run into the ground without worry of death. Marcus carried a massive polearm on his back with black armor that was once white. He had not been a thrall long enough to rot but his features were much more skeletal then a human normally would be.
