I have just spent the past 3 hours reading about the SCA. It's 3:00 am for me...damn I better like this.
I feel like my brain is going to fall out. And I haven't even gotten to the 31 page "Laws of the Middle Kingdom" thing. But it's all really interesting, so I don't want to stop. And on top of that, I have yet to discover what kind of restrictions I have as a 17 year old (I will be 17 by the time I get to any events). It says that in some kingdoms the age for things varies. I need that information. (Of course, I am willing to just go to events until I'm 18 before I start worrying too much about combat stuff, which I really want to do. Or I can just stick with archery.)
Edit: Okay, so I ended up scanning the laws, but that doesn't mean I didn't just do a s**t-load of reading... I lol'd In my kingdom you have to be 16+ to do heavy combat. But we're Ansteorra: we're known for doing the crazy stuff. Ask anyone. 3nodding
Well, I've found it. I have to be 18. *pokes siggy* I'm not there yet....but I can do equestrian stuff and archery.
Oh also, I won't be on much tonight, even if I am logged in. We get the keys to our new house on Wednesday so I'm packing up my room. It's hard. (But I have my Tamora Pierce audiobooks to help me through it! I'm listening to SotL again and just got to the part where Alanna met Roger for the first time.)

Ironically looking at all these patterns made me think of one of my favorite Alanna fanfics. I got curious about the Tunic that she describes as wearing though so I'm going to go look it up. Thanks for sending me that stuff Roki.

xD You beat me to it. I was actually just accepted into the SCA Guild on Gaia. I felt like I shouldn't dump all of my questions on you, Alan. Also, it would be nice to find someone there from the Middle Kingdom, or even from Tirnewydd.

Hey Alan do any of those links you sent me and Roki have the patterns for an ankle length Tunic? Also that third link in the first message looked cool but I can't access it without my laptop freezing up which is annoying.

I think it's because it's about the Old Gaia back in 06 and earlier and well Gaia might not like that because of how different it obviously is. But that's just a guess.

There was nothing wrong with the guild. We broke absolutely no rules.
It has nothing to do with dealing with the way Gaia used to be.
The reason supplied was that a few of the mods were allegedly trolling so Gaia overreacted and perma'd the whole crew and disbanded the guild.
