As the clock passed 10 Nastara climbed out of the tub and dried off thoroughly. As always her fur poofed out from the vigorous towling to dry it. She growled and grumbled to herself about how much she hated it when there was a knock at the door. She raised her voice to be heard through the door,"Yes?" Luna's voice replied, " It's Illyeana and I, can we help you get ready?" Nastara was touched by how sweet the offer was as she opened the door. "We're so excited for you Aunite- none of us have ever had a date! We want to make sure you're radiant!" Illeyana said as she was fairly bouncing with excitement.
With that said her two nieces each grabbed a brush and set about putting her fur and hair to rights, chattering as they did so. In no time at all her fur was brushed out silky smooth and her hair had been given 100 stokes so it shined.
10:30 found them all in her room, gossiping about what might happen and where they might be going as Nastara eagerly awaited Asher's arrival.

Unable to come to a conclusion of what to say, he knocked thrice upon the door. Asher had slowed down in the last hundred feet or so, making sure he wouldn't be too early. It was just before 11, the sun almost taking its reign on top of the sky, fighting with the several handfuls of white clouds to be seen. The weather had promised not to rain, and by the looks of it, it wasn't going to anytime soon. He took a deep breath and waited for someone to answer the door.

Nastara had been eagerly watching the clock as they all chatted, while the girls teased her about it. Jasper had since prounced that "all the women in this house are CRAZY" as even Emerald had joined the crowd to gossip. At the sound of a knock on the door everyone froze, then simultaneously squealed. Jasper came barreling in, " I looked out my window, I wasn't seen, but its ASHER!" which caused another squeal.
Previously they'd debated who would answer the door, and Em won, so she headed towards the door. Illeyana and Lunaria followed behind, taking up seemingly relaxed poses in the front room.
Em opened the door, " Hello Asher, why don't you come inside and have a seat in the front room, Nastara will be down momentarily"

He nodded in greeting to Em, and as he slid in to the house he spotted Nastara's family hovering, and he started wondered what was going on... "Good morning, ladies... You all are well?"

Nastara waited in her room for her cue. Her family had decided to make it a perfect moment to have him see her as she slowly decended the stairs. Jasper was hanging around the stair well listening for a moment, nodding to her that it was Asher just as she heard his voice and took and unconsious step forward. At the Jasper stepped back up to her and gave her a slighty apologetic look. Nastara looked confused.
All the ladies nodded in near unison. " Please Asher, come in and take a seat" Emerald said as she sat in an armchair.
"Wha?" Nastara started as Jasper shushed her. " Look Auntie, here's the deal, Em is giving Asher the "talk" You need to stay up here, be quiet and wait for your cue. This shouldn't take but a moment. And if you don't, Em says no date for you.
With that Jasper walked down the stairs and came up behind Asher, trying not to be too threatening.

Asher involuntarily gulped; he hadn't been expecting something like this. The simultaneous nodding was quite creepy... and, to make matters a bit worse, Jasper had gotten much bigger, a little larger than he himself was. He padded over, without rush, to sit on a couch not too far away from Em's chair. He turned his head and looked at her, as confidently as he was able.

Jasper was surprised to note that he was bigger than Asher, and he unconsiously puffed his chest out with pride. He followed Asher as far as the doorway, where he stopped and lounged against it, keeping an eye on the stairs.
Nastara paced furiously in her room, trying not to curse her family, and hoping they didn't give Asher too hard of a time....
Emerald smiled disarmingly at Asher. " Nastra needs a few more minutes to get ready, I'm sure you don't mind visiting with us while you wait. I think a bit of a chat is due between us....."
As she trailed off Luna spoke up, " Nastara says that you like her, and its obvious that she is head over heels for you......"
Illeyana took up " and she's our family, so we look out for her savy?"
"We'd like to know what your intentions are Asher" Jasper spoke last of all.

It took all of Asher's will not to bolt out of the house at that instant. He had heard of getting talks like this, but he had never been in such a situation himself. Unconciously, he began to tremble a bit. "I... I..." He paused. "Well, I do really like Nastara, and I hold great respect and admiration for her... And, as you know, this is a date. I don't know if you're... Asking me this just because I wouldn't mention where I was taking her, but there's no need to worry, it's a public place and I wouldn't ever dare to even think of harming Nastara..." he was blushing profusely at this point, blubbering on and barely audible.

Luna could tell Asher was having a hard time, she moved closet to him, taking a seat on the floor in front of him and placing a paw on his. " Its not because the place is a surprise. Its because we love our Auntie, and want the best for her. We're not concerned about her......"she screwed up her face a bit as she searched for the right word, "....virtue. We're concerned about her heart."
Jasper piped up "My aunt is like totally mushy over you dude!"
Up in her room Nastara heard Jasper and gasped. " Oh dear! what are they telling him!?!" she began worrying to herself as she paced.
Meanwhile Illeyana took her turn trying to clarify. "We don't want her in the clutches of a womanizer. Not that we think you are, but we don't want that. So if this is just a way to pass the time, you might want to seek the company of someone else."

His eyes widened in mild shock and relief. "Oh, heavens no, Nastara is definitely not someone I'd ever think of... using. When I said I wouldn't think of harming her, that includes emotionally. I... am very drawn to your Auntie, all 'mushy' as you said, Jasper." He smiled warmly at them all. "If that is all you're worried about, I'm happy to tell you there's no need for you to worry. I fear more of her hurting my heart..." It was obvious he was relieved with the clarification.

Illeyana's jaw dropped. "Her hurting your heart? Excuse me, but have you met Nastara? The Illumen who cries when the big nasty spider has to be caught in a glass to be taken outside?"
Luna nodded " I can't see her hurting you in any way......well, unless you consider putting on a few pounds from good cooking painful"
Jasper nodded sagely, " Totally mushy!"
Emerald sat back and allowed them all to speak, overseeing the proceedings as it were.

He chuckled at Illeyana's comment, and responded to Luna's with a shrug. "If her amazing food makes me gain any bad weight, it's just more of an excuse to go on walks with her. And just you wait, Jasper, ladies will be trying for your attention soon, if they're not already. Then we'll see who the mushy one is!"

Jasper blushed as he said that, and thoughts of a beautifully patterned black and white female with stunning eyes crossed his mind.
Emerald smiled at Asher " thank you for putting our fears at rest Asher. You're free to go."
Lunaria stood up and walked into the foyer " If you'll follow me Asher, Nastara will be down momentarily"

Asher nodded politely to Em and Illeyana and winked at Jasper when he saw him blush before following Luna. "Alright then." He was more anxious than he was before about seeing Nastara; It may have not even been a day since he saw her, but it felt like a fairly long time.

Hering Luna give the cue she was all set to go rushing headlong down the stairs to soothe Asher. She stopped dead as soon as she saw him, one paw gracefully lifted. Her anger evaporated and all she could see was him. A tender smile took up residence as she slowly decended the stairs, tossing her hair behind her shoulder, her eyes locked with Asher's.
