I think I already did, he just doesn't realize it yet, Lakayna thought to herself. She smiled.
"Thanks Axel," she replied, "You're probably right."
On the inside though, Lakayna was anything but cheerful. She wanted to tell him, but was still unsure of her own feelings. She didn't want to come out until she was completely sure, because then it would mean absolutely nothing. This caused her great greif. Her heart was conflicted. She knew the consequenses of getting into any kind of relationship deeper than friends, at least with her. Her other side had always been trying to take ovee like it had that one time before. Remembering that day made Lakayna shiver slightly, even in the warmth of the sun. So looked out over the water again, but something seemed off; a presence coming that shouldn't be there.

"No Axel there are things worse then death Heart, Body, and Soul... Heartless, Nobody, and..." Lux said stopping then took in a deep breath"Unbirth!" He said quietly"Being an unbirth would be a very horrible thing..." He said it was hard to tell where was staring because of the bandana. He didn't say anything else he feard Unbirth though he wouldn't admit it even if he hadn't seen one since he was a little kid they still horrified him.

User Image Axel smiled a little at Lakayna, then gave Lux an odd look. He said, "Unbirth? Never heard of them, and more than likely never will see or care for them. I just want a normal life again, and the last thing I need to worry about are creatures that aren't even born yet." He wasn't being mean, but he actually has something of a life now and he doesn't wanna live it worrying about unborn babies or something along those lines.

“And I thought the Darkness was bad…xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxIt doesn’t even compare to this Hell.”

Riku waited, expecting the girl to add more but she didn't. He sighed and brushed a hand through his silver bangs. He wondered if they were going to go anywhere at all or be stuck in this circle. Thoat the moment he didn't care. Both knew how the other felt and the way they stood together was enough. Just enough to make everything else insignificant. The silvernette put his hand on Namine's head and smiled. "Nothing is final, we don't have to decide anything right now. I was just asking. I wanted an idea...and I think I have one. So you can sleep on it."

Riku was okay with that. If the Nobody wanted to wait. Everything was new. She had an entirely new life. Her own self away from Kairi, her own opinions, her own emotions and Riku could wait a little for her to settle into it all. He smoothed his hand along the girl's blonde hair with a soft smile.

Namine
Miss Memory Witch

User ImageThe petite blonde smiled when Riku put his hand on her head and she peered up at him, curious as to what he was going to say. The silvernette told her that he simply wanted an idea and that he now had one. He assured her that she could relax and sleep on it. But Namine wasn't sure if she needed to. She knew how she felt and she was pretty sure she knew how Riku felt. But she needed to know for sure if she was going to decide.

She opened her mouth to speak but Riku moved his hand along her hair and she blushed faintly, closing her mouth. When she was positive that she wouldn't stutter when she spoke this time, her pale lips parted and her voice echoed in the air. "That was only one question, wasn't it? Didn't you say you had two? And when you ask the next one, I've got one of my own for you." The petite blonde smiled up at him and the fluttery feeling her stomach made itself known once more. She always felt it when she was around Riku.

“And I thought the Darkness was bad…xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxIt doesn’t even compare to this Hell.”

Riku chuckled lightly. He moved his hand to behind her neck and touched his forehead against hers. He glared playfully at her before speaking. "Am I going to be a problem?" he paused and nodded his head back around the corner. "For you and Roxas, I mean?" Riku wanted to know ahead of time if he was going have to fight for Namine. Of course, it would be exciting but he didn't want to end up treating her like a trophy. He wanted to treat her like Namine, the same girl he'd always known.

Namine
Miss Memory Witch

User ImageRiku chuckled and the sound of his laugh caused Namine to smile. And then his hand was behind her neck, keeping her there when he leaned in and placed his forehead against hers. The girl's breath caught in her throat and as he glared playfully at her, she had to remember how to breathe. Silly. She could face Heartless and Nobodies alike but when it came to a boy... Taking a breath the girl listened quietly to his question and watched as he pulled back and nodded his head back towards the corner. He then spoke again, clarifying the earlier part of his question.

Namine knew the answer instantly. Though she wished her answer was anything but. She wanted to say no, that Roxas would be alright with it and that he wouldn't mind a bit. But the petite blonde knew better than that. Roxas wasn't the type of boy to give up. When he wanted something, he normally did his best to get it. The girl sighed before giving a slow nod of her head. "Yes... You probably will be," she said quietly, looking into his eyes. "Roxas doesn't normally give anything up and if he cares about me the way I think he does he'll probably be angry that I'm with you. I don't want you to be a problem, but you probably will be. That doesn't mean I don't want you around; because of course I want you to be with me. Roxas will... well, he won't give up. He's my friend, and of course I love him but... I think he and I have a slightly different love for each other." Namine said, giving another small small sigh. The petite blonde really didn't want the two boys to fight each other; she wanted them to get past their differences and be friends. But boys would be boys and there was nothing she could do to change how either of them felt about the other. How it all played out would be up to them.

Riku shook his head lightly, himself out of a small daze. He rubbed his face lightly before speaking. "I'm sorry. I kinda zoned out at "I want to be with you." So I missed the rest." Riku looked at Namine for the first time with a sincere affection in his teal eyes. He stood there in the silence and just looked at her with those eyes. Finally he closed them and leveled out his emotion before questioning her. "Anyways, what was your question?"

Namine
Miss Memory Witch

User ImageNamine blushed. Had she said that? That she wanted him to be with her? Oh, she hadn't meant to admit that! She'd just been thinking and letting her emotions speak through and that was the result. The petite blonde lowered her eyes for a moment but she soon looked back up at Riku. The affection in his teal eyes both startled and pleased her and the fluttery feeling grew stronger yet. When he finally closed his eyes he seemed to be more in control of his emotions when he spoke.

"Um, n-nevermind." Namine said hurriedly, a blush rising to her cheeks. Her question had been something she needed to konw the answer of, but she figured she could wait. She wanted to know how Riku cared for her. Like he cared for Kairi; as a best friend? Or... something else?

"Okay, then let's get back before everyone flips," Riku sighed. He wanted to know what was pestering Namine. the question she wanted to ask, but he wouldn't pry. No, he only pried with Sora and that was because of their close relationship. Riku released Namine and it felt odd after the long embrace. He took her hand in retrobution and looked away from the corner. That way led back to Roxas. He knew that going back the way he came would start something with the blonde.

"Let's go...this way?" The silvernette gave a light tug on the girl to lead her in the opposite direction of her best friend and Sora's Nobody. He didn't want to start a conflict with the boy just yet.

Namine
Miss Memory Witch

User Image"Alright," she agreeded. Namine knew that Kairi was probably dying to know what had happened, what was going on with Riku and she wanted to reassure her Somebody that the silvernette they both cared about -- in different ways -- was alright. Riku released her and the girl gently pushed off of him, standing up right. It felt odd after their long embrace; like she longed to be back in his arms. She fought off the feeling and spun around to go back the way they'd came.

Riku's hand folded around hers and stopped her from walking. She turned back to him and noticed that he was looking of in a different direction. He began to walk, giving a light tug on her hand as he began to head off in a direction opposite from where they came. The direction opposite of Roxas. The petite blonde noticed this, but didn't say anything about it. Instead she walked silently alongside Riku feeling content and carefree. The boy cared about her -- she wasn't sure what he cared for her as, but he did care about her -- and she cared about him too. That was all that mattered.

The smile that played on her lips dissapeared slowly when they walked in a spot cast in the shadow of the building. The sense of Darkness on the Islands was close to zero, or had been. Now, it was stronger. A movement ahead caused her eyes to lock onto it, but there was nothing there. The girl gave a small shiver. She was only being jumpy. Of course nothing was on Destiny Islands. The Darkness was surpressed, the Heartless gone. Surely the Darkness she was sensing was just a trick of her mind.

To distract herself from thinking too much about Heartless and everything that belonged to her past, the girl spoke. "Riku, before we get to the others... I guess I'll ask my question. I was just wondering, what you... cared for me as? Like... a best friend? Or... Oh, I don't know. Nevermind, you don't need to answer. It was silly of me to have asked." Namine said, her words were quick due to her being nervous. As the walked along, she now gazed at the ground, too scared to look up and see what emotion was playing on Riku's face.

“And I thought the Darkness was bad…xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxIt doesn’t even compare to this Hell.”

Riku felt Namine at his side as they walked. It was nice. The small girl shivered as they entered a shadowed region of the school and Riku glanced at her. He quickened their pace to get into the sunlight faster. The silvernette wasn't sure what was going on but he knew that the girl on his arm didn't like it. She spoke up and Riku smiled. She was silly. He didn't look at her though, he just held onto her hand tighter as they walked.

"You're the only thing that matters. I want to protect you, with everything I have and I'm even willing to fight your best friend for you." He made sure not to stop once as he spoke so that the blonde would understand. "Namine, you're the only thing in the world that can make me feel this good and the only person that can wipe all my doubts away...even the ones about the Dark." Riku stopped and took a deep breath. This was the big test. He had to say it, now or never.

"I don't think it's love...not quite yet but I really think it has the potential." He stopped and let out a long, contented sigh. Finally, he had said it. It made him feel light. He glanced at the blonde with a warm, bright smile that didn't fit his usual cold face but with it and his bright teal eyes it looked right.

Kairi

User Image

Kairi nodded to the red head and said, "Yeah I agree with you there Axel." Axel then nodded a goodbye, and Kairi waved to him as he walked away.

It was just her now, everyone else had walked off to somewhere. It suddenly felt a lot like last year, and it filled Kairi's heart with loneliness and sadness. True she had had Selphie, Tidus, and Wakka for company then but they weren't the same as Sora and Riku. Kairi had been stuck here all alone for a year with no clue as to what her best friends were up to and how they were doing. And right now it kinda felt the same. Kairi stuffed her half eaten lunch into her bag and got up. She decided to do what she did last year whenever she was alone, which was wander aimlessly around the campus until the bell rang. That way she'd at least look like she was headed somewhere and not look like a loner. And maybe she'd find some of the others as she walked around. She shouldered her bag and exited the cafeteria. She looked at her feet as she walked, lost in the thought of her somewhat depressing pervious school year.

Lakayna shook her head. The shadows she thought she saw had had to be nothing, right? There were no Heartless in the world of Destiny Islands. The young girl was just imagining that shadow that had appeared out on horizon. Lakayna was about to ask Lux what an Unbirth was, but an announcement came over the P.A system, blaring loud and clear both within the school and out;

"All students are to report to the gymnasium. A pep rally is sceduled to take place right after lunch. Attendance is mandatory."

Lakayna's eyes turned doubtful. A pep rally; in the gym; with people being crowded into one area? That didn't sound fun for the dragon girl at all. Just thinking about what could potentially happen being in close contact with so many people at once.

Lux let out a cry"No not a pep rally anything but that!!!" He said"I'd rather deal with Unbirth but not a pep rally..." He continued on, then he thought about it"I'm just gonna stay out here I really dont want to deal with that... so many annoying people cramped together in the bleachers." He said sitting there in the grass. Then he stared up"But if your wondering and Unbirth is one of three Heartless, Nobody, and Unbirth... they are all very similar but Unbirth are.."He said stopping to think of what to say"They are in essence, the opposite of human life." He said solemnly sitting there.
