"Ok, ok!" She poulled her tail out of the girl's hand. She didn't like when she got bossy, her boss was Phim. She pouted as she followed the naiad. "Whoa!" The acorn was big now! "What did you do?"

"Wasn't supposed to be here," Faroth repeated, staring at his hands as if they were suddenly extremely fascinating. He was quieter now, but more steady. "But, if I was quick and no one noticed, then no one would ever have to know." It was logical and his young mind had latched onto the idea when he'd decided to set out.

It wasn't as if he was afraid of anything in particular. It was just that fear that comes with knowing you've done something that you've been told your whole life not to do. Something that you've never really questioned why you weren't supposed to do something, because it was simply a fact of life, repeated since you could remember anything.

But this time...he'd had to break it. And if no one ever found out, he couldn't get in trouble for it. He'd just slip out, do what had to be done, then return, no one the wiser.

So much for that plan now.

Kane was busy weighing the pros and cons of turning tiger and mauling the laughing Fae at the moment. Should have known that any favorable opinion of the Fae-thing wouldn't have lasted...they're all nuts...

He hissed once more, whirling about and covering his ears as the voice boomed through the forest, echoing off the trees. What the...?!?

The child in question was frozen still, eyes wide in panic and fear. Okay...there went all hope.

He was visibly shaking as he stepped hesitantly away from Texas, towards the direction the voice had seemed to originate. "I...I...gotta' go..." he stammered, immediately pushing off with his hooves to dash away from the group.

"Oh no you don't, demon spawn," Kane snarled, pouncing at the child, wrapping one arm around his waist and another around his legs to keep from getting kicked again. Faroth squirmed and fought, more than some poor prey animals caught in the past by Kane, but he managed to keep ahold of the writhing child with some difficulty.

"You're not getting away that easily, pest. Not after what you pulled earlier!" Kane growled, still wrestling with the child on the ground. "Now what the bloody hell was that?!?"

Another thunderous, "FAROTH!" was heard. This time with more rumbles. Now the Isle sounded as if it were shaking. Trees being shaken, but not uprooted or knocked down, rocks falling down hills. It sounded like a huge rock was galloping across the isle.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 3:35 pm

Takeko shook her head. "I'm sorry, I really don't know." She frowned as well, turning back to Alaera to say something as the first shout echoed through the air. Startled, eyes wide, she looked around noticing that the others had heard it too. A moment later, a second shout and rumbling in the earth sent Takeko stumbling to regain her footing. She reached out automatically, hand on Alaera's shoulder for support without thinking about it.

"Are you all alright? What in Telrunya was that?"

Melek had happily accepted Aspen's offer to carry him just before the rumbling started. The child held both hands over his ears to shut out the noise. Sounded like someone was in trouble...like when he snuck into the kitchen that time and got into his mom's cookie stash and she'd found out...

---

A wave of dizziness and nausea passed over Devyn and the demon reached out with his free hand to steady himself against a tree as he started to sway. The sensation was fleeting, however, and he simply chalked it up to how groggy he was feeling already. Maybe he was coming down with something, though he hoped not. He blinked, realizing the female had released his hand and he reached up to push his hair back out of his face.

"W-wait a minute, what? What's wrong?" This was odd...usually other Pae waited 'til they'd seen his fangs before they took off running like that. He had to stifle a chuckle at the stray thought. It wouldn't look right at the moment.

So, frowning, he took a step after the female. "Hey, don't leave yet. You haven't even done anything. I don't know what's made you so upset, but maybe talking might help?" To be honest, it'd been a while since Devyn had had much company...of any kind. He'd rather not see the pretty fae run away from him just yet.

Again, she probably would later when she saw his fangs, but at least he could spend some time with her before that, right?

Of course, that might have to wait now, as the shouts and rumbles shook the forest. "...the hell?" he blurted in shock, looking around wildly.

---

Saffron chuckled weakly, shaking his head at the explanation. "Well, still, it was not my intent to startle anyone, so apologies at least for that. I know it's something that can be a little disturbing to see the first time or so."

He glanced over, then decided to let the other male take care of the female for now. She didn't need too many crowding around to help and only making her nervous. So, he turned back to the child with a smile. "Well, in any case, the name's Saffron. Nice to meet you all, even under such odd circumstances."

Coronus looked at her love of her life she walked over to him. She had a hard time thinking of the fist thing to say. "I am sorry about not being around nothing I say will make up for what I did to you. I still love you and will do anything to try to get you back."
Looking at Apollo she smiled. "I see that my little boy is growing brighter everyday."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 5:52 pm

Eclipse heard the roaring and wondered what that was all about until Cronous spoke to him. "It's okay. I understand that you have to be you." He smiled and leaned up to kiss her cheek.

"Sure, that's what she says. I bet she has another guy on the side..." the voice from within said.

Apollo blushed light at his mother's comments. "Nice to see you."

Nitidu nodded, twisting her hands together nervously. She wanted to say something, but with her vocal chords being as weak as they were, were sore from what little she had said...or her pathetic attempts at screaming for that matter.

"Arvid," the demon pae said with a nod. "And that's Nitidu, my little sister," he stated, motioning to the girl in question.

"Now lets hed towards the HQ. There are a lot of questions that still need answers."

Coronus blushed as she kissed him back. "Thank you for understanding that I can not be anyone else but me." Sitting down next to them. "Do either of you know what happened I mean the land seems to have changed and the island is not were it used to be. I can only tell that by the oddness in the time line. But what have you two been up to since I have been gone."

Esmée began talking before Fernand would attempt to point out that it had actually been him who had made the suggestion originally, and not the angelic Bneut so adored. "It is rather odd that we'd miss that... I'm going to propose that whatever made us fall to sleep was incredibly abnormal. I mean, it was not night yet in any case, and we slept through something that, logically, should have woken us up to at least some extent."

Fernand had already made his way to the water--it was surprisingly close, after all. The penguin dove in the water to find himself a fish, leaving his Pae'il and her beloved behind in favor of getting himself a fish. It actually didn't take him too long, and he soon resurfaced with a fish in his beak, flailing as it was.

The angelic snickered at her penguin familiar, before walking over to join him. She sat down in front of him, offering a smile, before turning back to Bneut so he could see her lips move. "He's going to be distracted until he finishes this fish, I think. But does anything else seem off about this to you?" The angelic paused. "Fernand, did you hear something?" She knew Bneut couldn't.

The penguin had suddenly stopped eating his fish. For Fernand to even briefly stop paying attention to food meant that something was wrong. "I believe I did. It almost sounded like the Isle itself was briefly quaking, but I felt nothing move under my feet. Did you hear it too, Esmée?"

Esmée certainly hadn't heard that much, but she did hear something. "Bneut, keep an eye out. Yours are better than mine."

------------

To Zuri, while the ocean was now no longer linked with happiness, he was excessively happy now. The naiad ducked under the water to submerge his entire body, filling his pores with as much fresh water as he could before he came back up to the surface to float there, humming a happy tune to himself. It seemed that being out of the salt water was helping him to some extent--the naiad was no longer itching himself furiously in an attempt to scratch the itch right off.

After a few minutes of contented silence, broken by his contented humming, he turned his attention back to Waikiki Kiki. Something seemed sad about her, but Zuri wasn't good with these comforting-people things. The naiad knit his brow, uncertain what to say, before he decided, "You want to join me out here?" was a good thing to say. He hadn't caught the noise from the direction of the woods, personally, and even if he had, he probably wouldn't be paying much attention to it in any case.

------------

Aysu shuddered when another sound came again. "Yeah, I think I did. ...Let's get back to my place." She paused momentarily, before emphasizing, "Now." With that, she took the angelic's hand and started to jog, not running only because she didn't want to make her Ice Queen too warm and sickly in the hotter weather that was developing.

Whatever was going on, wherever it was coming from, the naiad didn't particularly want to find out what it was. She would much rather just go back to peacefully making necklaces and not making her Noel sickly with this outside weather.

------------

All of Magnus' laughter faded when there was something calling out Faroth's name. At first, his eyes light up in an almost animalistic excitement. He licked his lips, almost looking a little insane for a few moments. This would be exciting! Unless that meant they were in danger too. ...Yeah, suddenly it didn't sound so fun. The intoxication faerie's shoulders slumped before he went to block one of Faroth's possible escape paths. If this meant they were going to get hurt, the child was going to stay right there and suffer with them.

Criofan had been busy studying the acorn in Texas' arms, instead of paying any attention to any of the arguments Kane and Texas and this guy with the trees on his head seemed to be having. Ignoring the fact that it was blue, white, and... purple?, there was something else wrong with it. Was it quivering? Great, the acorn was not only weirdly colored, it was also shaking in Texas' arms. What was it, some kind of egg?

...Wait. s**t.

"Texas, forget the kid for a moment," spoke Criofan, after one of his lengthy silences. "Your acorn seems to have a mind of it's own."

Texas was unnerved from the sounds of the trees seeming to unroot from the ground they were standing on with that incredibly booming voice, calling for the poor boy that he just wanted to hold and valiantly defend now. He was tempted to try and rip Kane off Faroth, but before he could get to it, Criofan's words registered in his brain. What did he mean the acorn had a mind of its own? Nothing seemed to be wrong with it, except for its huge size and the weird colors and the cracks in it

Wait, there weren't any cracks in it before. Texas nearly squealed in his disbelief, and it took him all of the control he had just to make sure he didn't drop the thing. "Faroth," announced the demonic, forcing down an urge to stutter. While he knew Aysu, Zuri, and Okeanos came from eggs, he also knew this wasn't an egg, and he had never seen anything come out of an acorn before. Was that a hair? "I don't know what you know, but I suggest you start talking before whatever wants you gets you."

He felt bad for the kid that was wrestled to the ground under Kane. The pathetic, sad satyr-thing really didn't deserve such treatment. Nevertheless, the times seemed to be a bit dire, with the voice echoing throughout their world. Maybe if Faroth could spit something out fast, they could get running. All of them. Texas'd take Faroth with him.

Leitha knew Cinna didn't like it when she got bossy, which was exactly why she did it. Like her 'father' she teased those 'close' to her.

Raising an eyebrow, as if to say 'are you freaking crazy?', Leitha shook her head. "I didn't do anything to it." The naiad stated, setting it on the ground so she didn't have to carry it anymore. It only took her a moment to realize that it wasn't a normal acorn, though that much was obvious when it started to grow and change colors.

"I think it's like an egg or something.." She suggested, looking at the acorn, it was wiggling and cracking now.

Wiggling and cracking, slowly he broke out of his shell. The new toddler rubbed his eye cutely, yawning and looking up at the female pae above him. His first instinct was to call the blue and silver naiad his 'mother' but she seemed too small.

Christian looked from one to the other for a bit longer, confused by their astonished faces, before he got to his knees and started to attempt to crawl towards the purple pae that was behind the two girls.

Seraphim's face fell to his palm, sighing. "Another mouth to feed..." His tone was not amused. Picking the faun child up, the angelic pae looked at it, examining Christian. "It's a boy. Congratulations Leitha." He gave her a bored look, putting the child on the ground. "Cinna, it seems we are grandparents now."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bneut nodded, agreeing to the statement about the abnormal sleep. "Perhaps we were awake at one point... We just forgot about it?" He suggested, watching Fernand with a small smirk, quickly turning his head to face Esmee.
"At the moment, no, but I'm sure something will present itself soon..." Speak of the devil, he noticed Esmee's lips move once more, asking about hearing something.
"I'll keep my eyes open." Esmee had barely finished her sentence before the morning glory pae had replied.
"He knows, he knows, he knows, he knows..." Faroth rambled, still struggling to free himself from Kane's grasp. He squirmed and fought, oddly seeming to try and run in the same direction of the voice, rather than away from it. "I gotta' go...he knows...I gotta' go!" he repeated, making less sense now than before when he was trying to be evasive. To be honest, he'd probably say anything right now, but as it was ingrained in him to be secretive about himself and where he came from, anything he said would probably be in a vague manner.
The child looked back at Texas, then the acorn, and he sighed, shaking his head sadly. It was too late...too late now for what he'd come for. There was no way he'd make it back in time. Wasn't likely he'd get the acorn away from them anyway, especially since it'd already grown, but still he'd held out hope...at least until it started 'hatching.' Considering Texas would see the truth in mere minutes anyway, he saw no reason in denying it any further. "What do you think it is? It's one of us."
Eyes darting back towards the rumbling, panic flashed once more in his blue eyes. "Please, let me go. I have to go back. He's coming. I have to explain..." He trailed off briefly, seeming to realize exactly what he'd just said. "He's...coming..." Blinking, he turned his eyes on Kane, his captor. "Please...I have to explain..."
His struggles began anew and before long he was scrambling to his hooves in the dirt, leaves scattering in his wake as he took off running for the rumbling noise.
To be perfectly honest...he'd let the kid go. He wasn't even sure why. But the look in the kid's eyes...was something like the look in the eyes of a prey animal. Usually Kane only saw that right before he took them down.
So what did it mean this time?
He rose only to his hands and knees, pausing only to brush some dirt and leaves from his hair. He wasn't out of the game yet, but he needed all the senses he could call on to track the kid after that hoof-to-nose shot earlier. Kane began shifting, shaking out his fur with a growl once in full tiger form.
Just 'cause he'd let the kid go didn't mean his own curiosity didn't need satisfied. Sniffing the ground for a second to catch Faroth's scent...similar to a mix of rich earth and deer...Kane padded off slowly at first, picking up speed to trail the odd little child into the forest....
...still heading closer to that unnerving rumbling...
---
'Little sister?' Saffron thought silently with amusement. Still, he smiled and nodded at the demonic male. "Nice to meet you both. As I said, I was just on the way to the HQ myself for some answers. I haven't managed to find many out here anyway." Stretching a bit, the mixed angel set off with his new 'friends', still taking in the changing landscape along the way. "It's like...everything's different...but not," he mused half to himself.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:45 pm
Esmée smiled. "Thanks, Bneut. I love you." And, with that, she winked and turned back towards Fernand, who had nervously gone back to eating his fish. The shouting seemed to have stopped for the moment, but both the angelic and her familiar still appeared to be rather cautious.
The angelic Pae'il plucked a smaller fish out of the water and gave it to Fernand, to make sure he got enough. She then sat back in the sands, waiting for him to finish and not feeling any vibrations underneath her.
Fernand settled and ate his fish at a faster pace than usual. After that strange noise, he wanted to explore the Isle more, and he didn't doubt that Esmée would like to too.
------------
So he was holding some sort of satyr-something-egg. While the revelation that he was right was a good thing to know, it didn't particularly make him feel any better. The demonic gathered the acorn closer protectively as a small piece of the acorn cracked off and fell to the ground. Texas glanced back up to Faroth to offer a thank you for finally giving an answer, but the child was already looking somewhere else, struggling and talking about having to explain something. Kane let him free, and Faroth ran off.
Towards the source of what was causing all of the chaos.
Texas wasn't sure what to think of what Faroth was doing. Why did he run back to the source of the Isle's quaking? That, in all honesty, seemed a little suicidal. While concerned, Texas knew it would be a bad idea to run after Faroth with a hatching satyr-thing bundled in his arms. While conflicted, Texas chose to stay put, especially when he saw Kane, albeit as a tiger, run off ahead.
Kane wouldn't be the only one to head off, though. Criofan knew he could count on his luck in most situations, so perhaps he could use it to follow both the quickening Kane and Faroth. Curious himself, but also seeing the concern in Texas' face, he turned towards Texas and said, "I'll follow. Stay put." The leprechaun crouched down before launching forward towards where the source of the noise appeared to be coming from; even if he wasn't directly following Faroth and Kane, he assumed it was all in the same general direction.
Besides, he was lucky. Criofan would find them, and then keep himself hidden.
Magnus quirked a brow. "When did Criofan ever think that was a good idea?"
Texas mildly glared at Magnus to tell him to shush before paying attention to the acorn.
Woobie chuckled at her words. "Sweet honeysuckle?" He then followed her to the ravine. "You are right!" He really didn't remember that being here, "This is new..." How could that have appeared as they slept?
Pastela felt her cheeks redden a bit. "What? I don't like to vocalize curses...." Once she had backed up enough from the ravine, her wings folded into place behind her. "How do you think it was formed....?"
{{ Sally was kinda actually thinking that part out loud, sorry should have made that more clear}}
Eager that her plan be approved Sally watched his eyes carefully, awaiting his positive reaction but instead followed his eyes as he swept the beach he had come to call home. It was a big decision, one at least that the Guardians had not taken completely out of his hands. She understood.
"Listen, maybe you should see this other beach first you know just to make sure its cool. Let me go plant the pumpkins so they have some time to grow while you get things settled here and then maybe you can go for a visit before you make your final decision?
Alaera had just reached out to reclaim her acorn when the booming voice echoed across the land. Instinctively she ducked, clutching her new found treasure to her chest (just in case the walls started collapsing). When nothing else happened, she felt rather silly and was rather relieved when Takeko placed her hand on her shoulder. It was reassuring that she was not the only one concerned.
"Yeah, I'm alright, you?" Alaera had started to ask when the acorn in her hands started to vibrate and shake, almost as if the voice had been some sort of signal. Looking down at it in alarm, it felt like it was trying to escape from her grasp, and so she placed it gently down the grown, crouching nearby to get a better view. Before long a crack began to appear on the acorn's smooth surface and suddenly a purple looking hoof burst forth. Surprised, Alaera fell back on her behind.
"What in the world?" she asked no one in particular, almost forgetting that there were others around as well, so absorbed in watching the spectacle in front of her.
Lhiannan wasn't sure what to do, but his voice beckoned to her and in truth she was probably a bit lonely as well. She paused and then eventually turning, slowly headed back to him. Afraid to find what his eyes would reveal she avoided them, keeping her own eyes to the ground.
"You're...you're alright? I didn't hurt you?" she asked hesitantly. Though just a teen, already knew she was dangerous to others, but not exactly sure why. Certain that she'd killed the last pae she'd met, Lhiannan avoided others as much as possible, but the pain in her head had caused her to forget.
Not concerned about the booming noise and rumbling in the least, she only tilted her head to listen. "Faroth?" She repeated, looking quizzically over her companion. "Are you Faroth?"
