Laurence
As Laurence drove towards the area containing the celestials, he turned on the radio. He smiled. Classical music always calmed hm down. Blip. "What's this, now?" he tapped on his GPS. Another God-damned celestial! This one had a number on it. This indicated a "marked" celestial. Meaning it had already been tagged by Chrest. Laurence revved up his car and swerved around a corner. The dot wasn't moving very fast, but celestials can be tricky. He looked down at his black suit. Hopefully he could look friendly enough. He was lucky to be an excellent actor. He had been one throughout his schooling. Another stroke of luck was his non-involvement with this celestial. He had assigned it to someone else. Children were too difficult to work with. But this time, he would work with it. He parked the car, leaving the windshield wipers on, watching the little brown dot move slowly. He then saw a little girl run into an alley, towards a tall, dilapidated brick building. He got his white umbrella out from under his seat. He stepped out of his car, immediately realising this meant ruining a good pair of expensive shoes. Not like he couldn't easily just pay for another pair... The little girl crawled into a hole in the building, and Julius briskly moved over to it. He crouched down, careful not to get his pants muddy, and peered into the hole. He let his eyes adjust before calling out to her. "Sweetie, are you okay? Are you lost?" Julius had put some sincere-sounding concern in his voice, talking to her as you would any scared child.

Izanami forced herself not to watch as the other woman holstered the damaged gun without noticing the change, deciding it might be worth it to not be too forward just now.
"I suppose you're right," she responded with a conceeding shrug at Tess' comments on being a pawn, "I'm a pawn of hunger, of cold, of lust. But not of any single organization. I'm a go-between. I make black market arms purchases on behalf of companies not wishing to be seen associating with the types who normally deal in such things." Which wasn't much of a lie, really. An arms purchase was exactly why she was out today, after all. She wasn't really working for the FM so much as she was using them to her advantage.
When Tess suggested that she might be a celestial, Izanami scoffed effortlessly. Years of lying about it, even to people like her parents or colleagues in the FM, had made it so that she almost believed it herself. 'Yes' wasn't even a possible answer to her, by this point.
"A celestial? You've gotta be ******** kidding me. If I was that good at hiding, do you think I'd have come out of the shadows at all? Their kind don't know how to problem solve at all. Can't wipe their own asses without trying to use their 'powers'." That was a true sentiment; Izanami hated the way most celestials depended on their talents rather than cultivating skills.
"No, I'm just somebody who's learned how to hide. I came to investigate that gun shot. Expensive car like you're riding, I was afraid that my deal'd gone sour or something. But since you're not with the Mob or anything, I guess that's not really an issue." Another shrug.
"What to do now? I guess that's up to you, sweetheart. How many dead bodies do you want lying around in this part of time?" Whose dead body that might be, Izanami didn't say.

::Kimi:: ~Andel slums district, abandoned building, crawlspace~
The rain was still falling outside, and the thunder still rumbled ominously. Kimi cringed at every lightning bolt, clutching her backpack to her chest with all the force her tiny body could muster. She had stopped crying, but only because she had run out of tears and not the will to cry. If she had had her way, Kimi would have kept sobbing well into next week.
The man's appearance was badly timed. Lightning flashed in the sky, and at the same second Kimi saw him out of the corner of her eye. His silhouetted head and shoulders appeared suddenly in the mouth of the crawlspace entryway, and for just that split second Kimi's instincts took over. Monster!! She screamed bloody murder and shot back deeper into the darkness, further underneath the building. Dirt clung to her damp clothes and skin, and soon she was covered in mud. Kimi didn't care. The horror of Chrest lived in every lightning bolt, yelled in every thunderclap, grabbed at her from every shadow. She had to get away. Gasping in terror she hid behind a wooden pylon, which creaked dangerously as she put her weight against it. Completely oblivious to anything but the man's shadowy outline, Kimi stared at him wide-eyed from the darkness. He can't see me back here, The thought flashed through her brain before being overwhelmed with more terror.
"G-g-go away!" She said. Her voice cracked as she shook in fear.
***
((Quick area description -- I'm not sure if you have anywhere like this in your house, but where I live there's this little crawlspace underneath our porch. It's very low to the ground and is covered with dirt and there are pylons coming down periodically to support the porch above it. This place is much like that. ICly, through decay and rot, a small bit of the brick siding in this building has come lose, creating a very small hole into the under parts of the building...it's only about twenty feet deep or so, since the building is on a hill, so Kimi can only go so far. But this area wasn't meant to be inhabited and is likely to flood and/or collapse. Just so you know what you're dealing with. =D))

((Whee, two char posts in as many minutes! whee
OH--I just got the most fantastic idea ever. Whatever you do, please have Izanami leave the broken gun alone. I want to use it later. *cackles with glee* I am so freakin' devious.))
::Tessara:: ~Andel city streets, slums district~
Not a Celestial, hmm? We'll see about that. Tess knew better then anyone that they were always lying about who they were. That was all they were good at -- screwing things up and lying. For now, though, there was no reason to kill, hurt, or "retrieve" this woman. One might arise later, but for now there wasn't any need for serious action. Tess let herself relax a little and stuck a hand casually in her pocket.
"Ah, the gunshot. Sorry if I scared you. I'm out here on a mission, actually...someone got in the way." The little girl's pleading face flickered through Tessara's mind. A brief feeling of nausea coupled with wicked excitement swelled in her, but it was gone almost instantly. "...they're not in the way anymore." It was almost like a personal thought. Too young? I've killed before...never a child... She was just a street rat. Forget it. She wasn't a Celestial. She was a nobody. She didn't matter. You killed her. It's what you do. Get over it. b***h. Takes one to know one.
Tess found herself staring off into space longer then she had intended. She shook it off, and put her sunglasses back on. "I don't know about you, but the thing I want to do most right now is get out of this friggin' rain. And after that, I've got a little Celestial b***h to catch up to. If you want help on your bust and it's on my way, I'll pitch in." Tess paused for a moment, thinking. "You got a locater in your car? Mine's busted, and it's going to make my day a helluva lot easier if I can just home in on her myself. The monkeys back at HQ couldn't find their own a** with two hands." She snerked quietly at the thought, and mused that at the next company Christmas party she would have to make them do that somehow. Yeah, that'd be pretty sweet.
Not really caring of Izanami came along or not, Tess started heading back towards her car. It was where they were going to end up anyway, regardless of whether or not they were working together, so it was well enough that they get there sooner rather then later. Tess hated waiting.

Laurence
The little girl screamed. s**t. Laurence had always had a smooth, calm voice. It was hard to imagine him being a child, or even having a normal coversation. That was always how he snagged people. Sure, he had devilish good looks, but his voice had always had a convincing quality, and he could make even the most bizarre idea sound perfectly normal, wonderful even. He knew that a little girl, coming from Chrest, in the rain, in the dark, was probably not going to be the easiest to work with. Laurence tried desperately, despite his annoyance at the rain, to sound even calmer. "Come on, now! I'll take you to some place nice and warm, and we can find your parents, okay? But I'll need you to come here, first, sweetie." He thought back. Did he have the tranquilizer in his car? Yes. Yes, he did. He really hated doing this to children. They don't even know what they're about. It was necessary, however. Capturing and testing celestials, no matter how young or sad they were, was necessary to development in their powers. Which would lead to Chrest's ultimate goal...
(( gonk It's gonna be so hard to play this character. And what sucks even more is I'm going to make him even meaner...))

[Izanami - Andel Slum Streets]
Izanami brushed a bit of damp hair behind her ears, regarding the other woman blankly. She didn't trust Izanami, of course, but could you really trust anyone, anymore? It didn't really matter to Izanami whether she was truly trusted or not, just as long as a fight didn't break out. She had a hunch that it would pay off for her to play Mundane with this Tess for awhile.
"I wasn't scared by it," she said, of the gunshot. "Just checking to make sure it wasn't anybody I was supposed to be dealing with today. But anyway. Getting out of the rain sounds ******** fantastic. This jacket is leather; it'll stink to s**t if I don't get dry soon." She started moving in the direction of her car.
"I've got a great locater, actually. Bought it pretty cheap off of the black market. But it's kind of attached to my car. You can write down the address, but if your target is moving, you might lose it in the time it takes you to get there. If you want, I can either drive in that direction and you can follow, or you can take up the passanger's seat and I'll drive us both there and you can take care of your business. Who knows. Maybe my deal's around the area."
At that point, she was reminded of the deal and how happy she was about it. "If things go well today, a beautiful new rocket launcher and several lovely shells shall be in my posession!" She looked like a teenage girl who'd just recieved permission to see her favourite boyband in concert.

((Damn. You're making me look bad, L-chan.))
::Kimi:: ~Andel, slums district, building crawlspace~
Kimi clung tighter to the wooden pylon. It's groaning went unnoticed by her ears as she stared frantically at the man. His voice was so soothing...but Their voices had been soothing, too. Their voices were hurt! Their voices were bad! But he wasn't one of Them...didn't wear their clothes, didn't carry their things...maybe he didn't have Their voice? And...
"You...you know where mommy and daddy are?"
It was her one weakness. Chances were good that she would have continued to ignore Laurence if he hadn't uttered those two magical words. Kimi wanted nothing more right now then to go home and sink into her warm, soft bed, and drift away into happy dreams with mommy and daddy stroking her hair. So dry...so warm...so safe...she needed to feel safe. Right now, she almost needed it more then life itself.
"Home..."
Slowly, reluctantly, Kimi let go of the pylon and started crawling over to Laurence.

::Tessara:: ~Andel city streets, slums district~
Mama always said never to get into cars with strangers. Tess thought with a wry smirk as she walked through the rain, Izanami trailing behind her. Mama said not to play with guns, either. As she so often did, Tess let her right fingers slip quietly over the butt of the gun holstered there, enjoying the smooth feeling of the metal and the harsh lines of the grip.
Mama isn't right all the time.
"Your car's fine. I'll ride with you. But don't hold me up--I want that b***h in my hands by the end of the day." The woman's enthusiastic gushing about black market weaponry was slightly disturbing. Not for the reasons most would envision--Tess loved weapons as much or more then Izanami--but because she was worried that such a deal would take too long. Every second she spent waiting for the "deal" to go through was one more moment in time that she couldn't spend looking for Her. And not looking for Her meant Tess was waiting.
Tess hated waiting.
She turned the corner onto the street where both cars were parked. They were there, just like she and Izanami had left them. Walking up to her own vehicle, she grabbed some extra ammunition and slammed the door shut. Pulling the keys out of her pocket, she double clicked the button on the F-pad. The car beeped twice to announce itself fully locked. In the corner of the back seat windows, a tiny LCD display flickered into view: THIS CAR HAS THEFT PROTECTION. Tess smirked again, just a little. "Theft protection"...yeah, that was putting it mildly. AGSA spoils me so badly. Damned monkeys.
Not waiting for any kind of invitation, Tess opened up the passenger's side of Izanami's car and slid into the seat there. In what was at least a tentative attempt at being polite, she wrung out her short hair onto the street instead of just randomly, pulling the door closed once she was finished. It wasn't anything close to the warm fluffy towel that she really wanted, but it would have to do for now. Having finished with this task, Tess began searching for the Locater.
It was time to find Her.

((THIS BE LELIO. @Kuri: lol Whaddaya mean?)) Laurence Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnn... This was obviously not a good place to be. Not at all. Why the hell hasn't this dilapidated piece of s**t been torn down yet!? He saw the little girl respond to the promise of her parents. Laurence smiled sadly. "Don't worry, darling, we'll find Mommy and Daddy. We'll get you home." He reached out and took her little hand, trying to guide the poor thing out of the hole in the building.
((Yeah, it's short, sorry about that biggrin I'm trying so hard to NOT make Laurence become a softie, I just won't let it happen... I want to play an EFFECTIVE villain for once.))

((My villains always tend to become softer as time goes by, as well. I usually help remedy that by randomly killing an NPC. No, NPC's are NOT safe where I roleplay... eek
Anyway, small post today. redface ))
Deirdre: ((Small character control with leading Sal outside))
"What? Oh...thank you."
How unexpected...but nice. I guess not everyone turns out like Sazuko.
Smiling warmly, Deirdre took the pills. In a minute, they were down, and she'd grasped the girl lightly by the arm. "Come on, let's go outside." By the time they did manage to get outside (with torrents of rain making the circumstances admittedly rather unpleasant) the pain in her head had lessened considerably. Now it was merely a dull ache, not the massive roar that it had been before.
"We'd better take him to HQ, unless he has any objections," said Deirdre, coming up behind Korin. "I hope you don't mind coming either, Sal. I've got to give a status report on everything that's happened."
Hiram: The phone to Samuel was still ringing as a preoccupied Hiram made his way up the back steps of the FM building. At any moment, some FM men or even a Celestial was liable to come out running, and there wasn't quite as much protection here. It was a flaw in Adrienne's plan that he realized he had to take care of. ((Hint hint to Ghost wink ))

[Izanami - Andel Slum Streets]
((I'm not sure how Locators are supposed to actually work, so I'll bullshit it for now, but if you have a better idea of what you want, PM me and I'll edit the post to suit.))
Izanami swung into the driver's side of the car, adjusting the mirror to take a peek at the suitcase sitting on the backseat, as well as the shotgun stashed beneath, hidden from view. She smeared her hair back indiscriminately without ringing it out, slammed the door she'd just entered, and thrust the key into the ignition. The car stereo blinked to life as she started the engine and Izanami, watch Tess search for the Locator with a smirk, pressed "play" and "stop" on the stereo simultaneously and the thing flipped back up into the dash, revealing the sought after Locator, dotted with multicoloured points of light and lined with the city's geography in a dull green-on-black.
"Every organization's markers give out a specific code to be picked up by their respective locators. This little toy picks 'em all up regardless of origin and uses those codes to sort them and then assigns a colour to distinguish them. AGSA's markers are in blue, Chrest's in red, FM's are purple and Isis' (Izanami spat out that title derisively). . . are all yellow. Aren't many Isis markers, though. Guess they have their own ways of finding people." Izanami seemed pretty proud of the blackmarket locator, but then, she was always proud of her toys. "If they're smart they can trace me back and it's pretty often I have to buy new Locators when the organizations lock me out of their signals. Pretty costly operation to keep up on my part, but eh, the rush of a voyeurism is worth it."
She cast a smile over her shoulder at Tess, thrusting out her tongue and revealing the bubblegum pink tongue piercing. "So which of these little blips are yours? I'll drop you off first, special favour on account of your sharp eye finding me earlier, and then I'll head to my deal. That a** who gets me s**t is always late anyway." She revved her engine in playful impatience.

Inside FM HQ
Thessaly
Anything made of metal flung itself around the room, waltzed dangerously with the others, and mangled itself as it struck any standing body in its way. The soldiers inside the haunted warehouse cowered and took cover as they watched the furniture hover above them. They stuck to the walls, evaded most of the furniture, or struck down the flying debris with their high powered rifles. They heard the voice, and they are witnessing the power of the one inside the building.
"Why couldn't you just leave us alone?" Thessaly asked calmly even though most of his concentration flinging every metallic object around the room. "Leave, just please leave so no one else would get hurt."
This FM cell leader knew that he was outnumbered by the approaching units and knew of the consequences of being there. Death was at the most extreme end, but they've already underestimated him, he already was at an advantage with that.

Bloom_Wnd Hiram: ~Near FM Building, Rooftops~ With three minutes to go, he warned the men over the communicator chip and then cracked open his cellphone. While he waited for Samuel to pick up (the poor guy was probably immersed in paperwork per usual), Hiram tapped his communicator. Samuel: ~Hiram's apartments~ Samuel cursed because he had stupidly set his phone down on a counter, somewhere, and it rang a good number of times before he got to it. The number told him who it was, and he picked up with a gruff, "Yes?" As much as he'd rather be doing paperwork than feild work on most days, Hiram had given him more than he'd expected and Samuel hated to be interrupted while he was working.

[[Bloom and Lelio, I'm going to ignore that you used her name. gonk Because she hasn't given it yet. ninja Sorry I didn't respond quickly, college and what not.]]
"What? Oh...thank you." She took the pills, mine had already started to go into affect. Things went faster on an empty stomach. Parafli was speaking from the once was door, but I wasn't paying attention. He was of no threat to me."...I have no tolerance for such weak creatures..." A thought traced my mind, and I simply smiled at his comment. The pills finally found their place, a numbness on my back mingled near the joints of where shoulder bone and wing bone connected. I tensed my muscles around there, giving it a small stretch, and promptly released. A few more feathers left their holds. "Come on, let's go outside." Deirdre had lightly taken my hand, I was startled at first from the mere touch of another being, but it subsided when I realized she was just dragging me along... Poor Sal, little Sal, you mustn't stay. Come on Sal, go Sal. Go already. Cold and harsh rain slapped my face. My eyes grew wide and I snapped my head towards the sky. When, did it start raining? Doesn't matter, I smiled. Was the only shower I'd get, was the only cleaning my coat will have. I love the rain. "Parafli... where is she? You need to watch her... we can't lose her, do you hear me?" My golden eyes averted from the sky, to Korin. My left eye twitched at the mere sight of the blood they had on each other, but with trained eyes I saw no wound. "We'd better take him to HQ, unless he has any objections," said Deirdre, coming up behind Korin but then looked to me. "I hope you don't mind coming either. I've got to give a status report on everything that's happened." My lost look was gone, my eyes somehow grew cold, and I stared at her sternly. "Of course I mind. You can't take me just because you found me." Mild pridefulness, switched to child stubbornness. I had crossed my arms over my chest, "Do what you need to do, I have other, more important things to do." My moment of age fell back to my disassociated state of mind, confidence fell with it and I started to play with my fingers, my eyes darting here and there, trying to think. I mumbled. "What are our routes today?"
