Wow. 17 and 11 piercings. Jesus, I wish my parents would let me get whatever piercings I wanted... I want my tongue pierced with a fiery passion.
My friend got her tongue pierced, and she was like, "It hurt SOOO much. I was shaking." But she had to take it out because she didn't have her parents permission.
Anyway, my point is that all the other people that I know that have gotten their tongues pierced said it was the least painful piercing, and that it barely hurt.
Well, my friends all go to this place called Gothic, and there you don't need any parental permission. And they all think it's the best. While I go to Urge, and they have a strict policy on parental permission, and it's really professional. And just because my bellybutton hasn't healed within 2 weeks, my idiot friends are all like "It's supposed to heal! You aren't supposed to get a hoop. Etc." And they all change their jewellery within a week of the piercing.
Haha. It just makes me want to vomit because they are being such idiots about it.

Haha. It just makes me want to vomit because they are being such idiots about it. Actually I think you're right. I've heard it heals best if you have a hoop, that way you can move it around better and clean it better. Also It takes like a month or so to heal. You're friends are stupid xd

Actually...the hoop is horrible for effective healing.
Piercings SHOULD NOT BE MOVED. The skin is healing around the metal, turning it or twisting it tears the bonds that the skin has made and pro-longs the healing process.
A loop sticks out and snags on clothing, whereas a properly sized barbel will not. Also, with getting a barbel initially, you know all future barbels will fit, a loop is sized and shaped differently, and if put in wrong, you might find that your hole is longer than some barbels. Trust me on this one.
