All of the wonderfully decorative clothing was quickly bypassed by those twig-like green fingers, the Witch scrunching her nose faintly at the idea of such finery. As much as her childhood friends had favoured such garments, Elphaba had long ago dismissed such things for herself. After all, her friends had always been seeking attention, while she tended to go exactly the opposite direction... green skin and black hair drew more than enough attention on their own, thank you.
Instead, she began pawing thoughtfully through the various "working-class" clothing the wardrobe contained, a faintly puzzled pursing of her lips and cant to her head appearing as those brown eyes studied the garments. Whatever sort of nobles would have commoner's clothing amongst their own finery...? As the curious look began to give way to a faint scowl, Elphaba paused, those rich brown eyes lighting up with mental discovery: Perhaps they were here because this was a seldom-used guest room, and they never knew what station of visitor they'd be receiving. Such a choice, given just how beautiful some of the dresses were, was still a little odd, but... vaguely reassured by her "solving" of the puzzle, Elphaba began searching for the most unadorned, darkly-coloured dresses or skirt-and-blouse that she could find.
A small handful of wincing, irritably muttering moments passed as Elphaba adorned the clothing she'd acquired. Clean stockings were carefully slid in place, her stout shoes were fastened and snug, and her peaked hat was once more concealing the cascade of ebony hair she always kept hidden... the Witch was ready to face the day. What was left of the maunt's attire was turned into something of a satchel-bag, which then was filled with the Grimmerie. Book, hat, and a deft capture of her broom... and Elphaba made her way to the door, slowly opening it a mere inch or two, and peering outside...

Tinkerbelle blinked several times from the surprise of her good fortune. She had been attempting to devise a stealthy plan into the room unsuccessfully when the guarding feline suddenly raced off in the opposite direction Tink and Luc were coming from. Well that makes things easy Still walking quieter than nothing she and the pup slowly approached the large solid door. Pausing for a moment of anticipation Luc managed to sit his cheerful self directly in front of the tightly shut door without much concern. It was obvious the pup knew what, or who, was hiding behind it. Tink knew it had to be something important. Why else would there be a guard? She only hoped it wasn't something pointless such as sparkling jewels. To her, the stones meant nothing. What was a fairy such as herself expected to do with a rock? Following his lead she hovered behind him for a second. Her thrill of unknown excitement preventing her from successfully staying grounded. Her glowing body illuminated the dimly lit hallway and a small portion of her near surroundings, mostly Luc. When the door suddenly creaked open ajar little happy Luc wagged his loyal tail. His tongue slipping out of his smiling mouth. Poor surprise stricken Tink gasped. For the face peeking out the door was desperately, tragically beautiful, but all in all green. Seconds passed and the realization hit her. Everything was making sense now. She should have known by the simple granduer of this mansion that the owner was rich. Of course this lady was an actress. She must've have gotten back from a late night showing at the theater which explained her reason for still being in costume. (¯`•.(¯`•.(¯`•. ( A Drop of Jealousy ).•´¯).•´¯).•´¯)

Red was listening completely, as as a result, grew a little annoyed when Molly's words trailed off. But Molly's excitement transferred to Red, and her annoyance was forgotten. Her excitement grew into confused as she stared at the foreign...things. 'I guess I shall find out later...' she conceded, clearing her mind to solve the problem. Red smiled. She would not need a stick.
"Stand back," she said confidently, walked toward the tree, and picked up her axe, moving it to behind her head. With one fluid motion, she threw the axe at the tree. It cut the stem of one of the bigger fruits and lodged itself in the trunk of the tree. She ran quickly and caught the fruit, as she was not too far from where it was falling.
"Ha!" she exclaimed with pride. She was not so sure before if it would work, but now she knew better to trust her skills.
She's not so little anymore...

Elphaba blinked in obvious surprise at the sight of a small, glowing woman fluttering just outside her door, faintly recoiling from this strange, and completely unfamiliar, sight. After a moment, however, those earthen-hued eyes narrowed faintly, studying this strange creature... First, a Cat that rode a lemur as a mount, then floating hands that seemed to be connected to no body. Why not a miniature, winged person? If not for the dull, stinging pain from her various injuries, Elphaba would almost begin wondering if she were, in fact, still in bed... and simply having a very odd dream.
But, appearances must be maintained. Despite her slightly befuddled state, Elphaba mentally shook herself, and offered the small, glowing person a faintly hesitant nod of greeting, her bewildered soprano voice issuing with a similar trepidation...
"Um... hello? Are you one of the... erm... the people who dwell within this manse? And if so, could you direct me to the Mistress of the house?"

Red was listening completely, as as a result, grew a little annoyed when Molly's words trailed off. But Molly's excitement transferred to Red, and her annoyance was forgotten. "Ha!" she exclaimed with pride. She was not so sure before if it would work, but now she knew better to trust her skills.
She's not so little anymore... Curious as to what her offbeat companion was up to, Molly does as instructed and takes a few steps back. Pleased surprise etches sweeps over her features as the axe is launched, the fruit falling down into Red's waiting arms. "That works too," she replies cheerfully, faintly impressed, "Well done!" The creamy-coloured globe in Red's hands feels hot to the touch and is steaming lightly. Quickly Molly draws up a bit of her skirt to hold the fruit. "'Ere now, drop it in here. It's fresh off the vine and steaming. We dun want it burning yer skin," Examining the spoils of Red's efforts, Molly breathes in a whiff of the aroma whaffing from the prize. "Sweet bread, I'd wager. It's nice and ripe too. We'll be eating well tonight!" the excitment in her voice unmasked. She realy seems to enjoy partaking in the culinary arts. A thoughtful look appears laced into her pleased expression. "I still be wonderin what it's doing this far south. We couldn't possibly have wandered that far off course." Glancing back up at the tree, her eyes scan over the diversely coloured orbs hanging from the branches. "It's an old one. Very mature. One of the fruits must have been carried off by an animal and dropped here long ago." Turning her attention back to Red, her tone remains contemplative. "I know it dun sound that odd, but this 'ere tree comes from the same region that yer talking flowers do. It takes a special kind o'magic to grow these things. We'll have to be on the lookout for other.. unusual.. findings. If the plants can grow, that means we might even run into some of the animals from there." Giving Red a sidelong glance, she grimaces faintly. "And I dun think you'll be likin them..."

Tinkerbell Tink stared at the girl for a while longer. So she was wrong afterall. This strangely colored human was in fact not the mistress of the house at all. Tink vigorously shook her head multiple times. Shaking her head no to both questions she had asked. No, she wasn't one of the usual dwellers of this place, and no she had absolute no idea where the real Mistress of the House was. Tink glanced down at the happy pup. She was sure Luc knew, but he seemed content enough to follow and tag along for the journey. It seemed as if her unknowing curiosity was his personal enjoyment. For this Tink felt no hard feelings for the pup, for it would simply be impossible to maintain such against him, but also because she knew she would probably do the same if their places were switched. Tink energetically pointed at herself then dramatically shrugged her shoulders in effort of telling this female that she too was in search of the owner. And it could be said that with all the practice Tinkerbelle made a fairly good little actress, too bad she would always be too small for the audience in the back to actually see anything at all when it came to her. Rose wandered through the forest, enjoying her quiet solitude for now anyways. Though after a while, she began to hear mummers. Just the faintest hints of voices, and she smiled. People, she could use some companions for now. Her measured pace followed the voices to a small group. AT first, Rose said nothing, merely observing the…unusual group. A quaint woman with brown hair, a lovely swan…and the oddest member of the group, a talking puppet. How very unusual, but no matter, Rose thought. Then she stepped into their sight. ”Hello all…” Rose greeted softly.

Molly's praise made her beam, but the smile quickly turned into unpleasant surprise as the thing she was holding began to burn her hands. Once she was unburdened of the fruit, however, her smile returned, as well as her common curiosity. 'A food that is hot upon harvest? How queer...' She had seen many a strange thing in that forest of hers, but Molly was opening up new things to her constantly. Red did not mind.
She listened carefully as Molly described the fruit and spoke of her observations. At the mention of the "talking flowers," Red focused on Molly with her eyes and action in addition to her ears.
Which meant that she was even more attentive and more focused on Molly's animal comment.
"Yeah..." she mumbled though clenched teeth. "Hey, I'll be right back," she said gruffly before walking toward the tree. She would have to climb it to get her precious axe back. And if there was a chance that they would run into beasts, then this was extremely important.
It only took her a moment to survey the tree, finding the best path to take with proper footholds. It would be a little difficult, but she would manage. After all, The Woodsman did raise her.
She's not so little anymore...

Rose smiled at the gentle looking woman, and then jumped in a small amount of surprise when the swan spoke. Yet the woman seemed not to react to the swan's speaking, and so she chose not to react as well. "Well, my name is Rose Red, and I just happened to wandering nearby when I heard voices. I hope my prescene is not harmful in any way," She spoke, with a kind smile.

Alice smiled back and leaned on Todd's chest, very calm, despite the knowledge that she was very likely in a good deal of danger. So either she was being very brave, very stupid...or just a little mad. Perhaps like Todd himself, she was very seriously mad. "Aren't you being quite the charmer right now, Todd?" She very easily teased him, smiling all along.

She's not so little anymore... Molly ties one of the upper layers of her skirt so that the breadfruit will remain snuggly cradled. She watches with a mixture of amusement and admiration as Red becomes a monkey, nimbly finding her way up the tree t her axe. "I've always been a climber too," she calls up to her friend, conversationally, "Used to drive my parents bonkers. They never liked me much."Molly's eyes follow Red's form up, then move beyond her to peer out passed the canopy. She notices the colours shifting with the fading light in the sky. "So we have two options really. We can continue on till we get to the coast. That will prolly be sometime after dark. Or we could start looking for a place to camp. Which would you be preferin?"Glancing down at her skirt, she touches the warm melon-like shell beneath the folds of fabric. "The bread I think will stay warm for a while, long as we don't pierce the rind. I dun know.. you getting hungry?" She asks, squintint back up at the girl in the tree.

Red half-listened to Molly, though she did smile upon imagining Molly as a child. 'There would have been a fun place to be...' she imagined. Still smiling, she reached the top and secured herself before reaching for the axe. She tightened her hands on the handle and gave one forceful tug, successfully removing it from the tree. Red considered Molly's question, and she figured that if they were going to face any beasts, she would rather do it while they were secured in an area. And the bread smelled rather tasty.
"I am rather hungry. Lemme just get down..."
Red could have climbed down, but then she thought of just jumping. Doubt made her hesitate. However, she remembered doubting herself with the axe and succeeding, so she decided to trust herself again.
Unfortunately, she soon realized the former event was just luck.
Red landed on her feet awkwardly and suddenly lurched to the side. Her hands dropped the axe and flew to her ankle. Her face was scrunched together in agony, but she gritted her teeth instead of screaming. Screaming only alerted the creatures in the night; she had learned this quickly as a child.
Fear overtook her entire self. How could she fight with an injured ankle? Could she defend Molly? What would happen if she slept? She began hyperventilating as fear began to cripple her instead of the pain that lurked beneath.
She's not so little anymore...

Fear overtook her entire self. How could she fight with an injured ankle? Could she defend Molly? What would happen if she slept? She began hyperventilating as fear began to cripple her instead of the pain that lurked beneath.
She's not so little anymore... Upon hearing that Red wanted to settle for the night, Molly had diverted her attention to their surroundings to look for a suitable spot. However the loud and alarming thump of Red crumbling to the ground, followed quickly by the axe flopping down beside her, snaps her focus back to Red. "What the devil...??" She cries, quickly kneeling at her companion's side. One hand hovers briefly over the hands gripping the wound, the other steadies herself as her eyes dart over her friend to assess the damage. "Hang on a tic, I've got somethin for the pain" Molly reassures her as she leans back against her heels and begins rumaging through her sachel. A small purple velveteen bag is procured, and from it she pulls a wrapping containing several dark coloured twigs. Pulling one out, the red head brings it up to Red's mouth. "'ere, chew on this. It'll help numb you out.."Only now that she's paying more attention does Molly notice the vacant panic forming in Red's eyes. "Oh bugger.. not again.."
