((ohcrapiforgottopostallweek!))

Djers was suddenly startled awake by the whimpers of Lido, as well as the commotion outside his inn room.

"Mrph? Huh?"

For a moment he had forgotten the toils of dreams which had permeated his subconscious the preceding night. All of his father- an imposing figure, renowned simply for the ability to be liked. Were there anyone like him in this nation with no such ability except for that, he or she would be out of a job.

Which, of course, is why he left.

"Ugh."

He dressed, fed Lido a few morsels from his pockets, and propped himself again upon the bed.

Ashe started for the road. She started to whistle an old tune her mother used as a lullaby when she was a hatchling. Smiling she looked back at the two others, "What's taking you so long?"
((sorry, school got in the way))

Minutes later, Djers and Lido emerged from the hotel, having left a nominal tip on the inn clerk's desk (in spite of what happened the previous evening). The dwarf, adjusting to the new brightness of the outdoors, scanned the area for any of the party he planned to accompany.

"Eh? Where ought they be?"

(Oh thank the pasta in heaven I thought it had all but died!)

Mike sighed as he stood up. Today was the day. They would see the king, and then it was off to eliminate an evil menace. He stood up and caugh up to Ashe. He walked a few strides behind her, but was more focused on his surroundings. Something didn't feel right. The air was very still and heavy for morning. Something inside Mike told him that something bad was going to happen. Still, he had sworn to find his memories and protect the good in the world. If evil wanted to attack him, then it would make his job easier.

[o.o Mike, you're a Pastafarian?]
-----
"I'm stiff from sleeping with a rock in my back." Flint lied, very nearly running to catch up with the others, and by the time he caught up, he was still having to jog a little to keep up with them.
He wasn't at all nervous about seeing the King...what he was nervous about was what would happen after, what they would have to chase down, and eventually kill. Although he liked adventure, it always turned out that the evil in this world was big.
Flint didn't particularly like the thought of fighting something possibly 3 times his size.

((Yeah, well the Gaint Bowl of Pasta in the sky desided to make school cram all my midterms into one week...))

Ashe looked back as Mike and Flint caught up to her. She smiled while still humming the tune. The hair at the back of her neck was standing on end, but she held back on commenting on it.

~

Shiango was standing near his crystal, watching as the mist inside cleared to show an old, whizend man walk around his study. Shiango smiled, his mark was seen plainly on the old man's forhead, though it would not be seen by other's till he chose to issue a command. The old man pulled out a paper that was hidden under a pile of books and hurried out of the room.

((The PLOT BUNNY has showed a bit of itself! Mwahahahahaha!!!!111)))

(Hell yeah! I've been one just under a year, but man am I into it. I talk and dress like a pirate whenever I please and I'm always thanking the Spaghedeity. And...I think we need Demidom now. He sorta controls an important character.)

As the group walked towards the city, Mike closed his eyes. He couldn't shake the feeling that something ominous was coming. He put his hand on top of is blade, not gripping it, but resting his arm on it. His other hand rose up and rubbed his forehead. He had to stay calm and focus on helping the group and maintaining his mortal form. If he broke his focus and let his magic slip, he could transform into his demon form or worse. But if what he felt was right, he'd end up transforming anyways.

Then again, doing so would probably make him an enemy of the king, forcing the group to either be targeted as well, or forced to target him. Mike shook his head slightly, realizing that his life was next to worthless now, and that if he could save someone, it would be worth being disowned and having a bounty put on his head.

[Bah, I'm a Catholic on paper, an Atheist in practise.]
Flint continued to jog along, soon realizing that he would run out of steam before they reached the inn. So he took a quick pause to cast a spell on himself, using some unseen force to pick him up and carry him along. It simply looked like he was sitting crosslegged about 2 feet off the ground, and moving at a normal pace, for humans.
"There, much better." he said simply, hovering somewhere between Ashe and Mike. Noting that Mike was a few steps behind, he rotated around completely but still was going in the same direction.
"What is it this time, Captain Depressed?" he asked casually, seeing that he had his eyes closed, one hand on his sword, and the other on his forehead.

((I'll go and poke him))

Ashe looked back at Flint and Mike. She saw Mike's pained look and frowned. This isn't good...He feels it too, but much stronger than I...
She looked up at the castle and sighed. It was going to be a stressful day until they leave the city. I've got to find a way...
"Hey, Flint. How long can you hold an illusion for?" she asked, still facing the castle.

Out of simple need for practise, Flint rotated himself in midair, so he was "hanging" upside down, looking at Ashe.
"Depends. And honestly, I don't know. Before abandoning it for the first time, I think a few hours, depending on the illusion, parties involved, how much rest I get beforehand, etcetera." he said truthfully, shrugging as best he could. The blood started rushing to his head so he flipped back to his normal sitting position.
"Why, whadya got planned?" he asked.

Ashe shrugged, "Just planning ahead here, but just in case Mike can't hold that form, you think you can make an illusion around him to hide his true form?"
It was strange, yesterday the air felt fine, but today an evil wind stirred around the castle. She too was finding it hard to hold on to her human form, even though she spent last night in her true form. What's going on here?

Flint thought for a moment, then shrugged as well. "Maybe, but don't rely on it. For all I know, it may not even work. I've never tried to illusion a demon before, I don't know if they counter magic like that or not." he said truthfully.
He then tilted his head to the side.
"What do you mean, in case he can't hold that form? Mike's been able to do that just fine...right?" he asked, rotating in midair to look at him.

(Going on vacation, back on Saturday. Feel free to drag my character around with you two, just dont get into any cool battles while I'm gone.)
"I'm fine." Mike said, a little edge in his voice. "I'm just not used to being in this form since last night. It's very uncomfortable, but I can hold it through a sword fight still." Mike was sure he could hold his form if he had to. Something in the air sent a chill up his spine, but Mike buried the feeling deep inside. He had to stay strong to protect the group. He was sure Ashe had noticed what was wrong and would call his bluff.

"I'll be alright," Mike said to Ashe, "I just get a little anxious when I've been in one spot for too long, that's all." This wasn't a total fabrication, Mike was eager to get going. He had failed to mention the demonic presence in the air though, which played a big part in his uncomfortable feeling.

Nixe felt things change in the air as she kept on forward. A larger city loomed in the far distance, it's outline just faintly visible to her. Was this her final destination? Even from this distance, she could tell that it was the largest settlement she had come across yet. Possibly even larger then her own city. Though certainly, it was far less regal. Buildings out of crude bricks and walkways made of the same from what she had observed from the last cities, regardless of size, it would most likely be no different.

Djers began riding through the city atop his pooch until he saw and caught up with the others. Ah, the joys of being short.

"Easy, boy. I know the city is nice and full of diversions, but we have to meet up. Or on second thought..."

His voice trailed off.

Do we? I don't suppose we have to. But then again, my mission may require allies. Or maybe not. I have no idea.

...

"Well..." he spoke even louder now, "Better safe than sorry!" He coerced his pooch to accelerate to a running speed (except around corners), and as he grabbed attention from half of the town, he rushed to catch up.
