Nam wouldn't have it. His curiousity piqued, his entire being was jittery. If he'd had a tail, it would be twitching back and forth. He was becoming much like his usual self again. "Come on, what magic?" the thought never really crossing his mind that Kryxel was just joking about it and he'd possibly just made himself look like an idiot (not that he'd care much, anyway).

"So like a magician, anyway," Nam smiled, satisfied. "I once saw magic on TV. The man pulled his thumb out through his left ear." He said, putting a finger in his own as they walked.

Nam laughed, the conservatory had done him a world of good. "I'll hold you to that," he said, smiling broader then the long side of a barn and following Kryxel through the maze, wondering what all of his mates back home would do when they found out he'd just taken a little vacation to learn some new tricks, as he pulled a flashlight out of nowhere, or even (if he was lucky,) pulled his thumb out of his ear.

Nam scrawled and doodled all over said turn. Hey, who said it had to be an arrow? After a bit more walking, Nam felt his feet squish into the ground, mud and whatever else getting between his toes and twisting his face in a very comical way. "It's getting wet," he said.

"Yeah, except Oliver said there's something weird outside. I think we should see if it leads off of the grounds first."

zfatal It was dark, hardly any light in the small, cramped space. "Don't worry - this tunnel only leads to one place," Rosemary called back behind her. "There's candles on the other end."
Once Rosemary was standing upright again, she lit a candle and waited for Alya to make her way out of the crawlspace as well.
The room Rosemary now stood in was about a quarter of the width of the spacious corridors upstairs. It was also about half as tall - meaning an ordinary-sized adult would have to duck in order to avoid hitting his or her head on the ceiling.
The walls were old and wooden, and it wouldn't surprise Rosemary if they collapsed one day. However, it wouldn't happen today. She didn't know this, but she believed it.
The hall stretched on, into a pool of darkness. Rosemary, having explored the entire hall's length, knew it only ended, after a few turns, at a large door. This door was wooden as well, but large and very thick. A puzzle of some sort - a set of three revolving circles, within one another, with a knobby center - resembling a target of sorts. The 'bullseye,' so to speak, had a hole in the center, about as big around as Rosemary's small finger.
Each revolving circle held some pictures, though Rosemary could only make out one or two. Well, this was the obstacle the de Hoyles daughter could not pass. It didn't hurt that she was too small to turn the circular panels, either. Alya looked around the room amazed, it was so tiny and yet so big and grand. She walked over to Rosemary and bit her lip when she saw the puzzle, it was a theif picture and she knew every symbol "Its a password, and the symbols are really old. Really old" She said as she took the first circle and moved it to a certain position and then did the same for the next two circles "Press the center now"

Rosemary tapped her fingers together. Alya was useful; she knew it had been a great idea to bring her along.
"There's just one problem," Rosemary murmured. "The center looks like its missing a piece. You wouldn't happen to know what goes there, would you?"

Alya looked at the center and frowned "It wouldn't be too far, the person who made the puzzle couldn't have let it fall to wrong hands or lose it. It'll be in the wall" She said and then started to tap along the wall around the circle in a rythm "You need to tap to the pictures on the circles to make a rythm" She said and when she finished tapping something shot out and Alya fell back catching it. She giggled and held it out to Rosemary "There you go!"

Stephanie carefully placed her book back on the shelf and stepped out into the hallway. /This place is so big. I hate it./ she thought with a frown. /But at least the library was awesome./ She started walking down the hallway to the nearest window.

Time was getting away from everyone. The sun was already making its descent; only a few hours before it became dark. Then the fun, would start.
Rosemary snapped her fingers. "That's it! Alya, you are so brilliant!"
Snatching the piece away, Rosemary examined it. It didn't look like it would fit, though... but what the heck! The rich girl jammed it into the circle anyway, trying every which way until - it actually crammed in there, somehow.
Rosemary studied the puzzle curiously. The piece was in, and the puzzle was arranged as Alya had set it. But nothing happened.
"Did I miss something, Alya?" Rosemary asked, scrutinizing the puzzle. She blew on the side of her candle as it threatened to collapse from the heat.
