Renatus ran his fingers along the rock, then pulled out the hammer and pick and struck away pieces of the rock. The clangs were loud in the echoing tunnels.

Lucinda made sure that he had a lot of light.

Renatus stopped hammering for a moment, however the clanging continued and turned into a dull thud. Renatus looked around him. "Whats that?" He said.

"I don't know...." Lucinda replied, looking around as well.

"It kind of sounds like a drum." Renatus said spinning around to try to pinpoint the dull thuds, which was impossible in the echoing caverns.

"Perhaps." Renatus said pulling himself away from the wall. "But with drum. The noise became louder and more frequent.

"I think we already did." Renatus said as lots of shuffling was heard down the tunnel. Renatus stepped in front of Lucinda and drew his saber. "Stay behind me." he said defensively.

"Who's there?" Renatus called into the darkness. The shuffling continued, until a goblin stepped into the light of their fire. More followed. They halted at the edge of the light.

"Goblins." Renatus said quietly. He backed up slightly, and widened his stance. "Lucinda stay behind me." He said, still facing the creatures.

As the goblins began to step into the light, Renatus took a deep breath. He puffed his chest and leaned back, before thrusting his head forward and letting out a loud roar. Sparks and cinder flew from his mouth as he did.
