Arwen had just been walking from the playroom into the dining room when Lore and Elnara entered, and she smiled brightly when she saw them, changing direction and coming to see them instead.
"Aunt Elnara, Uncle Lore," she greeted them brightly. "Welcome! Dinner's just about ready, come on in and make yourselves comfortable. I think it should only be a few minutes more - unless Mama and Ada insist on waiting for Ahren. He's not back yet from Adanedhel's house."

It sounded like those two were always spending time together Lore thought with a chuckle.
"Thank you Arwen, the boys when out again hmm?"
He wondered what those two were up to now.

Arwen rolled her eyes. "They're always out together," she replied grimly. "Especially since we got back from the Southland. I think Adanedhel was bored when we were gone."
She beckoned for them to follow her. "Come on, Mama's expecting you," she encouraged them.
Just then, Serenity came out of the dining room, brushing her hands together as if dusting them off. Her eyes lit up when she saw Lore and Elnara. "Well, you're just in time," she beamed. "Come on, dinner's nearly ready!"

Elnara laughed. "We know, Mother, Arwen's just finished telling us," she giggled. "We're coming, just give us a second."
She hung her cloak on a hook by the door and wiped her feet on the mat, then stepped off to give Lore more space, waiting for him to be ready so that they could go in together.

Lore unwrapped his own cloak from around his shoulders as he hung it up before wipping his own feet.
"Well to be fair," Lore told Arwen, "Ahren is the closest to Adanedhel's age... it only makes sense."
He stepped off the mat taking Elnara's hand.

"Adwin isn't that much younger, though, is he?" Elnara questioned. "Does he ever do anything with the other boys?"
After all, didn't most little boys look up to their older brothers, or friends, and want to be like them, and spend time with them?

"Actually," Arwen giggled, leading them all into the dining room, "he doesn't. He's only three years younger than Adanedhel, same number of years between Adanedhel and Ahren, but Adwin prefers to be alone. To train alone, I mean, he spends a lot of time with Amdir and the other fighters."
Haradhel was busy setting the table when they all entered the dining room, and she smiled brightly when she saw them all come in.
"Welcome," she greeted them warmly. "Come in, sit down, make yourselves comfortable ... as soon as the table is set we'll be eating, we never know when Ahren's coming home anymore so we're not going to wait for him. Arwen, run and get your father and your younger brother, they're upstairs."
Arwen grinned and headed out of the room once more.

This was true, though Lore also knew that when possible people liked to spend time with people other than their siblings. Well that and Adwin wanting to spend time with other people, made sense.
"So we've just been told," Lore replied with a smile as he let Elnara take a seat first.

Haradhel smiled as she finished setting the table. "Well, you should know by now that things will be repeated by as many people as you see, if they don't all see you at the same time," she laughed. "Anyways, I'm off to get the food - you all take a seat."
And she headed off towards the kitchen.
Serenity sat down at the table and motioned for Lore and Elnara to join her. "So did you two have your talk?" she asked them brightly. "You look remarkably more awake now, Elnara."

Elnara smiled warmly at her mother.
"We did," she affirmed, "and then I took a nap, so yes, I'm feeling much better ... and hungry, which is a good thing."
She giggled softly and sat next to her mother, making sure there was a place for Lore on her other side.

Taking a seat next to Elnara, Lore nodded, 'It was a good long talk."
Since there was plently to talk about, in which he was glad they had that chat earlier.

Serenity smiled warmly at the two.
"That's good," she murmured softly. "And you two should know this already, but I just want to say it anyways ... you can always ask me or Beren for anything you need, if you ever need any help at all ... we're here for you, we'll help you through all of this, all right?"

Elnara reached forward and lay one hand over her mother's.
"We'll remember," she said softly. "Thank you."
She was certain that she would be calling on her mother many times in the next few months.

"Thank you," Lore echoed Elnara's thought, "We won't forget... trust me."
After all this was their first time there was no way they were going to forget something like this.
"By the way... do we get to tell..." his eyes trailed off to where Haradhel went to, he grinned mischeviously.

Serenity giggled. "Of course you do, I would never dream of depriving you of the chance to tell everyone yourselves!" she replied. "Honestly, that's half the fun."
"Half the fun of what?" Haradhel asked, suddenly reappearing in the kitchen with a pot of hot food in her hands. "Careful," she added, "don't let me burn you ..."
She set it in the middle of the table, then brushed her hands off on her pants. "There. Now, what's this about fun?" She looked at the others curiously.
