Anatoly nodded. "I just helped him..." he jerked his head to Stark. "Stab some guardian dude called Osiris. I'm still a bit on edge. Sorry."
((I meant it was away from the thumb joint so he could actually, you know, not cramp his thumb reaching the near part.))

It's a lot of fun with this guy here" pointing his finger at Stark, actually meaning the complement he gave him "and whatever is left out after 7 at night becomes somebody's new toy, or food, or book, or whatever it is you left out. And that is pretty much the ground rules."
Bitong was genuinely excited about having someone new join. Maybe this could mean if the teachers found the bag of weed he had in his room, he could possibly pass it off as the new kid.
"I don't think I know your name yet." Bitong asked it rather than stating it, hoping that the guy would take the invitation to introduce himself more fully than Stark did.

"Anatoly Yang. Nice to meet you, and thanks for the rundown of the rules." He extended his right hand, stripped the Mysticker from it and put it in his pocket against his wallet, and put his right hand back out towards Bitong again.

Bitong watched as Stark turned to leave, and then noticed the hand extended from Anatoly Yang.
"Hey, you wouldn't happen to have some chew, would you?" Bitong whispered as he shook Anatoly's hand "I could really use some. And it might mean that you get a bed to sleep in tonight" He added with a wink.
Bitong hoped that he did, and that if he did, that Anatoly would actually believe that he could arrange things like that.

"Whatever you want to chew, I don't have," Anatoly replied with a chuckle. He could sense Bitong's insincerity in his offer easily - it felt like when his students gave excuses for not bringing homework they never did.

Bitong could see in Anatoly's eyes that he saw through Bitong's bluff.
Bitong laughed again, quite unlike himself this evening.
"So you didn't believe my threat? Is that something that comes easily to you?
The knowing if it's a lie stuff?" Bitong asked in a stream of questions.

Anatoly shrugged. "I dunno, it's just... it is. Like, I see a person talking, and I know how they... how they're feeling, sort of. Whether they believe what they're saying, how sincere they are, how they feel about that they're saying it. It's intuition, really. Or I would say that, but it happened when I picked Skulltap too." He shrugged again. "I always figured it just came from spending a lot of time around people - you learn to pick up the patterns and stuff, I assumed. The differences in their speech and wording and that stuff. But then, knowing the Skulltap, its name, and what it did, just from looking at it... that threw that theory for a loop, because it felt like it was from the same... source, sort of."

"Ha! If it was the starting to see patterns in people, your good. I've been around people ever since I left home, and I still can't tell when someones yanking my chain or not. It sounds like it's just one of your gifts." Bitong looked up at the clock on the wall.
"Well, I need sleep, and I think you do too, given your...recent circumstances. Come on, I'll show you the way to the barracks."
And with that, Bitong turned and walked off, not checking to see if Anatoly was keeping up or not.

Anatoly was right behind him. He had calmed his heart rate down substantially from when he'd been outside and was basically stable now.

Blaine was hesitant about talking about himself, it was never something he really did, What should I say? he wondered, Do I wanna say anything? How about my name? Yeah, I'll start with that..
"Um, my name's Blaine." he said quietly, hoping no one was paying attention.

The Guardian nodded. "Good. It's nice to meet you guys. You'll be training with us from now on. I hope you like it." They continued to walk, heading towards the downtown area.
