"Is she okay?" Nightfall asked worriedly.
"I feel fine," Tyleet assured her, nuzzling her mother.

"Thank you," Nightfall said softly. She could see how tired her friend was, but she was also worried for her cub.
Tyleet sighed, and with all the air of some one humoring her elders she walked over and laid down beside Leetah.

Leetah smiled softly at the cub and rested a hoof on her neck. She breathed a sigh of relief a moment later as she withdrew it. "She is well as any of us," Leetah announced.

"Thank you," Tyleet said, sounding like some one who knew what the answer would be all along. "Now if you all don't mind, I'm off to gather cap nuts."
"Be careful cub," Nightfall warned, worried.
Tyleet nodded. "Yes mother."

"We'll go hunt capnuts too!" Ember suddenly declared.
"Cubs," Nightfall got out, almost managing to sound stern before she dissolved into a fit of laughter.
"I'll keep an eye on them mother," Tyleet assured her.
"I'm gonna be your chief some day, I'll look after you! C'mon Suntop!"
"me too?"
"yes, you too."
"May I come along as well?" Redlance asked. "I do love capnuts."
"Weeeeeeeell....." Ember thought, considering.
"Father can help us find the trees that are most ready to shed their nuts," Tyleet pointed out.
"Oh alright, he can come on my hunt." Ember said loftily.

"don't go too far," Cutter reminded them all. "We don't know this new holt yet, we don't know the dangers, and we might not recognize a human if we spotted them."

"OH!" Ember said, brightening right up.

Cutter's ear twitched a bit. *I notice you whispered that, and didn't send it,* he sent privately to Nightfall, having heard it as clearly as had she spoken normally.
